On Question 19, it asks for a person's legal status. Would my brother check off the U.S. National (for joint sponsors only) one??
(he's technically my co-sponsor, we don't live in the same state) or the U.S. Citizen one?

Is there a sample of a filled out I-1864 by a co-sponsor here?

thanks

Since I don't work at the moment, would it be 0? Or what I paid taxes on last year?

24. My current annual household income: $

What's the difference between this and the previous question? They seem to be the same thing???

a. List your income from line 23 of this form.

Federal income tax return information.
I have filed a Federal tax return for each of the three most recent tax years. I haveattached the required photocopy or transcript of my Federal tax return for only the most recent tax year.
(Optional) I have attached photocopies or transcripts of my Federal tax returns for mysecond and third most recent tax years.

My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ) as reported on myFederal tax returns for the most recent three years was:

I don't have this 1040EZ, I do have a 1040A? Argh...I didn't realize that this was as annoying as it is.

Question 21, it states:

Your Household Size- DO NOT COUNT ANYONE TWICE

Persons You Are Sponsoring In This Affidavit:

a) Enter the number you entered on line 10

I put 01 because it's only my husband

Persons NOT Sponsored In This Affidavit:

Option C states:

If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse.

So, going by what was noted above, would I would then just ignore this option, because I had already put 01 for option a above?

It isn't conflicting - they just want you to put some sort of identification on supporting documents so if they somehow get separated, they'll be able to identify where it goes. Something is better than nothing.

Ok, got another question:

on Question 8, it states the following: "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above." So I put yes because that is true.

Now, below that is Question 9, and it states the following:

I am sponsoring the following family members immigrating at the same time or within six months of the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above. Do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition."

Below that, are some spaces ranging from a to e with the following columns:
Name, Relationship to Sponsored Immigrant, Date of Birth, A-Number (if any), & U.S. Social Security Number (if any)

Would I put my husband's name down in this section again, and put "self" in the "Relationship to Sponsored Immigrant" part?

Alright, so I'm about to put together the AOS packet tonight to send out tomorrow morning. I FINALLY GOT TAX TRANSCRIPTS.

I noticed on the first page of the I-864 form, it says: "Write you name, Social Security Number, and the words "Form I-1864" on the top right corner of the sheet"

But NVC told me I had to put(in pencil) our NVC case number.

so what's the deal? Why the hell do I always get conflicting information?? I don't get these people, are all the operators trained differently?

Should not at all effect your current case. He probley did not show them enough evidence / strong ties of reason to return to his home after visit to USA. Thats most likely why he was refused. Dont worry, it will be fine.

Who are "they"? Did T-mobile ask you to sue them?

I'm not sure how worth it all this fuss is. If you have a complete picture of your relationship, the phone records shouldn't be necessary. There are plenty of couples who have no phone records (either because they can't afford calls at all or they use phone cards that are untraceable) and they turn out just fine. Maybe you should focus your efforts on gathering as much of the other kinds of evidence as possible...

I called the company that it is with and they were very rude to me, told me to go to a t-mobile store and get my records...but i've done that already and they have already refused to do this...now what the $^#$#$ do i do?

can i seriously do as what i had thought earlier and include a letter with my packet to NVC explaining my situation and ask them to just call up T-Mobile to ask for my phone records??? This is bull****

I'm now really worried that this is going to put a kink in my proving my relationship to my husband...

has anyone ever been in this rut?

Thats strange. I have Tmobile too, cancelled my account when I went to Pakistan and restarted it when I got back. I can still obtain my bills from 4 years ago and I even had a different number back then. I don't see why they arent giving them to you. I know you do have to pay like $5 for each one though. Maybe you should call and ask to talk to a supervisor or something...good luck

No...I can't....want to see the log I've been keeping? How pathetic it looks?

Kat calls T-Mobile on April 22, 2009 called at 9:55 am. Got Dominic whose rep# is 1048543. Was of NO help but gave me the number of an agency that T-Mobile had forwarded my account to, because apparently I refused to pay my bill to them LOL.

They are called DCI, number is 1-800-771-5361

I called DCI at 10:05 am, spoke to Whitney who said that my letter had been received and that T-Mobile
should be reviewing it now. It was received April 4th. (!!??!?!?!??!!)

I called T-Mobile right after this, got Alex was transferred to Priscilla. got cut off.

Pissed off...

On April 28, 2009 at 4:40 pm Kat called Whitney, she said that T-Mobile received my letter and that it was
going to be reviewed by a higher office, whatever that means, and that it takes a while to do this (and why?!!? I don't know!!!!)

I called T-Mobile at 5:00 pm on the same day requesting action and information from them regarding
my account. Got Mary, whose rep# is 135810605. NOTHING.

Will try back when I come back.

After this, I went to see my husband...didn't follow up. But now, come Monday, I will be on their butts. They had enough time to resolve this. I just want the records from at least 2007 and up...if they can't give me that, then whatever they can. This is so not cool.

Ok....so I'm at the point where I need to send in my I-1864 and my packet of proof of our relationship.

What I've got are tons of pics, emails, affidavits, and so on. I'm working on getting my records from T-Mobile, but that may not work because they'are idiots.

Absolutely agree yes.gif They canceled my plan because I am not in the States and they wouldn't let me freeze my account for more than 4 months, so now after THEY have canceled it, they want me to pay $200 for not keeping my contract with them. IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My questions are only two:

1) In the event that I am unable to obtain my phone records, could I write a letter saying that I am not being allowed to retrieve them from T-Mobile and that I can't send them in due to this? Should I then suggest that they contact T-Mobile to get my phone records for the past 2 years?

They told me few months ago that they can not provide a copy of the phone calls between me and my husband but if a lawyer or Immigrations do request them from them, would be no problem. So, yup, do write a letter to USCIS/NVC that if they insist on phone records they could contact T_MOBILE F..Ckers...

2) When you send in the packet, is there a particular way to go about it? I'm extremely organized to begin with and thought I'd make a little binder with everything in plastic folders and color coded and all that. Is that extreme? Or should I just clip together everything according to what it is and send it in a basic manila envelope? What works?

Folder organizer is OK. I've read about other VJ members who did that before. good.gif Make sure you also have a cover sheet and check list good.gif

Read the shortcuts, read everything else here till my head was about to explode..alright, so basically hubby has to take with him the photos, emails, and plane tickets...i've got all that.

well, here's the deal:

i had a t-mobile account from july 2006 to july 2008. in july 2008 i went overseas to try to get a job in dubai. in that time i called t-mobile in august, said i'm done with you guys, won't be coming back and can you guys please cancel my account? i made sure to pay my final statement to them as well. now things didn't work, i came back in late september, and it turns out that they never cancelled my account and kept charging me.

since then, i've been fighting with them to let me have access to my records...no luck so far. they are pissing me off BIG TIME. claim that i owe them cash, but i know i don't. till now, this has been dragging..that's why i can't get my records. until they determine that i don't owe them squat, i can't get my records... sad.gif

and i moved twice during this time, so my records and papers were thrown around and i don't know where half my stuff is anymore. that's thanks to my sister. i even lost my last passport thanks to her, and had to get an emergency one when i made my last big trip overseas to mother russia and the ME.

.....i do have a pic or two of all the phone cards i've used to call my hubby, but who knows if they will even believe that?

but just the fact that i went three times overseas to see him won't say anything?

in regards to presents...well, he gave me some silver jewelry and since he's a mythology/history buff, i gave him this compact book of world mythologies, as well as other books....basically that's it.

but how can one prove that these presents are in fact from each other?

another thing: we didn't regularly send snail letters to one another, their postal services SUCK. the one time that i got a letter there, it was via my sis in law who was traveling there and carried it with her.

and we don't email as much, but i do have about 35 pages of emails from between the both of us, but they are kind of stupid emails....gushy emails like "oh baby i miss you so much" and "honey how are you? today i went to the supermarket and bought cheese"....that sort of thing....

i'm even embarrassed to show them those. biggrin.gif

LOL

well, i'm just gonna think like how they would: i would wonder how he got the funds to see you in Oz and how he was able to...put $$$ in for keeping in touch with you and all that...basically how can you guys maintain your relationship on that level if he is not holding down anything...then i guess that's where his dad would step in and say i'm supporting him, etc...

but then, that might mean that his dad would have to show him being claimed on his taxes?

it might be a bit of an issue, maybe might be a good idea to find a co-sponsor who did work and who could provide w-2's for the past 3 years (even though it's optional) just to be on the safe side?
