USCIS Service CentersDelay at USCIS
So I checked the status of my petition on the USCIS website and it was updated today 4/19/2010, not only that I also got a text message saying that my case was updated. So I called USCIS today and they said that my case was "amended" and that I should wait up to 30 days for the notice. What exactly does "amended" mean?

USCIS Service CentersDelay at USCIS

have the usc set up an infopass appointment, then have a service request made in person, at that appointment.

Failing that, you can contact the USCIS ombusdsman's office, inquire about casefile location.

Is the infopass any help? When I was searching on here regarding infopass (because I didn't know what it meant) alot of them didn't have much luck with it. Most of the VJ'ers said its useless and its the same information you would get when you call USCIS. If I don't hear anything next week then that will be my next step. My local USCIS is about 3 hours away so I don't want to drive there and all they do is tell me the same thing. But I will do it just so that I can be one step closer to my future husband. Gosh I hope I have some gud news next week

USCIS Service CentersDelay at USCIS
Hello, my question is, I got my petition approved on March 4, 2010. I received my hardcopy on March 8 or 9 ( I forgot) Its been over 1 month and almost 2 weeks and NVC still does not have it. NVC told me to e-mail them a scan copy of my approved letter and wait for a response back. Here is the response back that I got after 3 weeks.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be adviced that the National Visa Center (NVC)contacted U.S. Citizenship Immigration Service (USCIS) in regards to your approved petition. This petition is located at the USCIS office in California Service Center. Please contact USCIS for further information

So from my understanding with this e-mail that I got, its still sitting at the California Service Center and has not been mailed out. CORRECT? Its already been approved but why can't they just sent it out and foward it to NVC. Is this normal? I've contacted USCIS and all they say is it could take up to 90 days to get to NVC. What am I to do? Really I shouldn't be complaining because I got approved in a short time, but its frustrating that it did get approved but it hasn't been mailed out yet. Has anyone else gone through this same situation or have any advice for me. Pls help.
Thanks

USCIS Service CentersAmended Notice
So its been almost 2 months since my I-129F was approved, March 4, 2010. Until now NVC does not have it. I checked the status of petition again on the USCIS website and there was an update to my petition. I also got a text message today from USCIS saying that my petition was updated. So I called USCIS and they said that an amended notice was sent to me. What exactly does amended mean and is this something that happens often?

USCIS Service Centerschange approval date feb 1 to march 10

USCIS employe sucks. They approve us in just 61days but the NVC sent back our case to them and we we're RFI.And it took them two months's to find out what's the problem in our aplication. And now,we're approved for the 2nd time(March 8,2010) but its ben 10 days but the NVC don't have our case yet but they gave our manila case number,How can we have a case number if they didn't have our case yet? huh! I hope the goverment can do something about that.. They get payed but seems like they are not doing their job well.. :bonk:

Does NVC have your approved petition now? How were you able to get a manila case # if they don't even have it yet? Did you ask for it or they just gave it to you?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)It's been 4 weeks

I'd be willing to bet that you are still at CSC. Hell, we're not only in the same boat, same timeline but probably the same stack of petitions !

Any news yet were your petition is at? I think I need to stop calling because all I do is get upset. I called again today and each time I got a different answer. Do people at USCIS know what there talking about because I've gotten 3 different answers each time. First the lady said that I need to wait up to 90 days. Then the 2nd dude said that my petition got sent directly to the consulate in Manila. The 3rd lady told me that I need to wait 30 business days before I contact NVC to see if they have it. If they don't have it then wait another week and another week after that if they still don't have it. This is getting really frustrating because its not stuck in NVC, NVC hasn't even received it. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR IM sure it stuck in there millions and millions of pile they have. I pray it gets sent out this week if they haven't even mailed it yet. Keep in touch and let me know if you have news on yours.

Hey yoko !

My petition was never sent to NVC. Have not a clue as to why ???? Just for grins I checked my case status on the CIS website ( has not changed since 03/08/2010 ) ..... and golly gee whiz ... my case was " touched " today 04/01/2010 !!!!!! at CSC !!!! Maybe they sent it out .... but who knows ?????
I now know what NVC's definition of " enroute to NVC " is ...... could be anywhere !

Well atleast you know were its at now. They still don't know were mine went. They said they sent it to NVC, but NVC still doesn't have it.

Wow yoko !

It does look like we are in the same boat ... AND timeline ! I sent my inquiry last Wednesday 24 March. The first response I received was " it is not in our system " and then I got the one yesterday that said it was enroute. Hopefully this is THE week !

What happen to your petition? How come its getting sent back to CIS? I called again today and still NVC has not received anything. So I called CIS and I talk to someone who said they will e-mail CIS to forward my petition if they haven't done so and gave me a confirmation number. I dont know if thats going to help any because as of right now mine is just lost or floating in air somewhere. This is really getting frustrating.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)It's been 4 weeks

Hey Jules,

looks like we are in the same boat. I made numerous calls to NVC ( best time to call is early morning or late at night .. they stop answering about 11:40 pm EST )always the same answer .." not in the system yet ". Then a young lady told me to send a copy of the NOA2 by email to NVC research to have them track down the petition. I called USCIS to see if they could tell me when it was sent .... she did not have that info on her computer. Finally last Friday I called my congressman's office to have them make sure it was not lost or stuck between 2 file cabinets somewhere.
I received an email from NVC research about an hour ago .... it said they have contacted USCIS and my petition is " enroute " to NVC.

I would suggest keep calling NVC until you get thru to them and speak to an operator ... the operator will probably suggest you scan your NOA2 approval notice and email it to nvcresearch@state.gov with an explanation that you would like to find out where it is located.
Hell, you just might want to do that now ! B-)

I'm in the same boat you are. My NOA2 says it was mailed out on March 4, and until now NVC still doesn't have it. The lady i spoke to today said to scan it and e-mail it to nvcresearch@state.gov and I did that today, so Im hoping that something comes up this week.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussiontime from NOA2 to packet 3?

I'm getting a busy signal when I call the NVC. #######? is that common? I didn't know it was possible to get a busy signal from an automated system

I received my NOA2 hard copy 4 days after it was mailed out. I called NVC today, first got the automated system then finally transfered to a a person. It took about 15-20 mins until someone answered. I gave them my WAC case number and she said they haven't received anything yet. She said it usually takes about 2-4 weeks for them to receive it. Im gonna continue to call every week just because i Have nothing better to do.

PhilippinesAffidavit of Support
Hello everyone, I've been reading some of the post on here and it says that the Manila Embassy does NOT accept Co-sponsors for the Affidavit of Support? Is that true? Why? I also read that by March 2010 they are changing the Poverty Line (hopefully it doesn't change by much). Well i've filed my 2009 taxes already and for 2009 I do meet the income requirement. Say, even with the changes in March 2010, i still meet the income requirement, do I still need to bring or show 3 years worth of taxes (2009, 2008 & 2007). Because if I do, 2008 and 2007, I did not meet the income requirement. Pls any help will be greatly appreciated. Another question I have is, my fiance was previously married in the Philippines. He got an annulment and it has been approved. He sent me his paperwork but he was still waiting for his certificate of finality. I mailed in our I-129F package before I even got the certificate of finality. Do you think I will get an RFE for not sending in the certificate of finality. Should I still mail the certificate of finality to the USCIS or just wait until we get approve or wait to see if we get an RFE (crossing fingers we don't)? Thank you for all your help

PhilippinesSt Luke's Advance medical without appointment letter

You should have an MNL case number by now. Ours was sent about the same time as yours to NVC, but ours is being trapped in their Additional Processing at NVC, maybe a month longer now before it goes to Manila. But we have the MNL case number so we can still do the advance medical at St Luke's. Have you called NVC? I called them twice. Once I called on Mar 15, they said they just received it and expected it to head out on next round to Manila....then I called on Mar 19 and they said it was stuck in AP but I did get an MNL number so we can still keep things moving.

I did, I called twice last week, and 2 times the week before and they still haven't received my package yet. Thats why I'm kind of getting worried. I'll call again this coming week and the following week will be week 4, so hopefully they'll have it already soon. But as soon as I get that MNL case number I will have my fiance schedule his medical. Thank you to all of you for your quick response. Its been such a relief having people like you guys to answer questions I have. Made this process so much easier. Thank you

How about just NOA2 but NO MNL case #? Can I go ahead and have my fiance do medical without a MNL case number? According to CIS they already sent my package to NVC but I still haven't heard anything yet from NVC. So pls let me know if I can have my fiance schedule medical at ST. Lukes with just a copy of NOA2 and no MNL case #. Thank you

Philippines2 VJ'rs Passed St Lukes Today!!

Yeah I remember..... DAMMMMMMMMMMNNN ......They still haven't received it!! You know another VJ'r had same time as us and they lost his file for about a month, "enroute" from USCIS to NVC, I think he got a congressman involved and his file magically appeared at USCIS and they kept telling him for weeks that it was at NVC. I hope that it doesn't take much longer for them to get your stuff straight.

yes I finally contacted my congressman today. A "special assistant" who was filipino made me fill out a casework form and then he said the congressman will contact me soon. I ask about how long he said, it shouldn't take too long. Now that I think about it. Im just wondering if maybe the reason why its getting delayed because I starte a new job on March 1, that required I do a security clearance and background check. Im a civilian employee working inside a navy base and im a federal employee. Maybe about 2 or 3 weeks ago I had an interview with the the federal agency asking questions about my last trip to the philippines and questions about my relatvies. maybe they are still doing a background check on that, thats why it hasn't been sent yet to NVC. Could that be a possibility?

May completed her medical Monday/Tuesday as well.

Congrats to all.

Your interview date, did you choose that or thats the next available that NVC gave you or was it embassasy that gave it to you? Im just wondering because your interview seems so far out. Is that what the next avaiable appt is?

Philippines2 VJ'rs Passed St Lukes Today!!
Congratulations!!!!! I'm still waiting for NVC to get my petition. Still haven't heard anything yet. Imagine my fiance would of been doing his medical also if it got to NVC the same time as yours, but No they still dont even have it. But anyways CONGRATS gud luck at the interview
yokogurl99MalePhilippines2010-04-14 22:47:00
PhilippinesThank You VJ, we passed Today!!

CONGRATULATIONS to both of you...so jealous though.I think our documents are officially lost between USCIS and NVC, :( :( NVC keep on saying its still in USCIS but USCIS said they forwarded it already to NVC... :(

You should have your USC fiance call your congressman or senator. I was in the same issue as you. I was approved on march 4. Then on april 19 my approved petition was "amended". So for almost 2 months my package was just sitting at USCIS. So finally my congressman e-mailed and they just a few days after they finally sent it and now my petition is on its way to the embassy. So if you haven't contacted a congressman or senator yet, do it coz for me and for others it helped.

PhilippinesAnnulment and Letter of Finality
OK, here is the problem. My fiance is scheduled for his interview on the 26th. So a little more than 2 weeks. I know it usually takes about 2 weeks to get a CENOMAR. He went to go get a CENOMAR last week, but the lady told him they cannot issue him a CENOMAR. All he gets is a annulment paper and cert of finality. He contacted his attorney earlier today and the attorney told him there is a problem with his annulment. The attorney didn't tell him what it was but they are going to meet on Monday to see what the problem is. FML I'm seriously gonna have a heart attack. Could there still be a problem with the annulment after he has been given the annulment papers already and cert of finality???? I mean the judge already made a decision and signed off on it, so why would there still be a problem????? Anyone ever go through this situation or have any advice or info on this coz im about to lose it with some of the people over there. ITs all about money. I think we've spent so much already trying to get annuled and paying for little things we didn't need to pay for. grrrrr and here goes another issue.

PhilippinesINTERVIEW

Congratulations!

I just want to ask one thing though. I will be having my interview on the 3rd and the DS 160 form issue has been confusing a lot of people lately. Since your fiance already had his interview, I just want to know which form he used. Did he use DS 156, DS 156K and DS 157? or the new DS 160?

Thank you so much and congratulations again!

According to my fiance they didn't even take his DS160. We did it just in case they wanted it (not a user friendly site, always got timed out and had to start all over) but they said they only wanted the DS 156, DS 156K, and DS157

PhilippinesTracking from NVC to Embassy

WOW,Now I'm so jealous again...huhuhu :crying: Our petition is still in USCIS,Goodluck on your journey..Did you contacted your congressman?

I did, and you should also. If I didn't contact them, I still would be in the same situation you are in. I've been waiting almost 2 months for USCIS to send my petition to NVC but they never did. Finally I got tired of same response that NVC still doesn't have it, so I contacted my congressman. It only took a about a week and my petition was finally sent to NVC and now on its way to the embassy. SO CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN NOW :0

PhilippinesTourist Visa
Hello everyone, I'm a USC, my husband is still waiting for his 10 year GC. He already had his biometric appt last January and should be getting his 10 year GC in a few months. My question is, he wants to bring his son (my stepson)here in California for vacation (March-June). He is 12 years old and will for sure be coming back to the Philippines because school will be starting in June and he lives with his mother. If we apply a tourist visa for him, what is the process and does he still need an interview? Also can my mother in law bring him to the interview instead of his mom? Any help would be great. We did include his name on the paperwork for when I applied for a K-1 visa for my husband, but we put on there that he is not following his dad to the states and that he lives in the philippines. Now we want to bring him here for vacation for a few months. Thank you for any help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsExtremely depressed

I think our situation is far more depressing,My fiance filled it july,we had an NOA2(approval notice)Dec17,so happy that we think its a case number nxt and my medical and interview...then jan 8 a letter that states our NVC turn back our papers in USCIS for review, then only this march 3 USCIS re open and reconsider it,then we had an RFE..Oh come on,we had this one in a million strange case! But in spite of all this we had a strong faith with this stressful sucking petition process...Now USCIS send back our petition in NVC...hahaha!!!So hang in there...SMILE! :)

Why did NVC return your papers back to USCIS? Im currently in between the USCIS to NVC stage. They sent it out to NVC on March 4 and till now more than 2 weeks they still haven't received it yet. I know they said wait between 2-4 weeks but I'm just getting worried coz other people who got approved the same time I did, NVC received there paperworks in a matter of days. So Im hoping nothing goes wrong. Good luck to you.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat's taking so long at the NVC???
When CIS tells you that your petition has been sent to NVC, does CIS keep a copy of it also for themselves? I was just wondering because when I looked at my status on the USCIS website, it said it was mailed out on March 4, but on March 5 and March 8 it was touched? So Im wondering if they even really mailed it out because according to their website it was "updated" last on March 8, when they said it was mailed out on March 4. CONFUSED???

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat's taking so long at the NVC???
Your not the only one, I got my approved NOA2 on March 4, 2010. It will be almost 1 month and NVC still hasn't received my approved petition. I've called almost everyday this week and last week and they keep telling me to wait and that it could take up to 90 days (I'm praying it doesn't). Then one of the operators told me to e-mail nvcresearch@state.gov, so i did, I got an e-mail saying that they will contact CIS regarding my petition. I called CIS and they took down my information and said they will look into the matter and I should be getting a letter within 7 to 10 days from CIS on what the status is. From what the lady at CIS told me it just depends on which "batch" of petitions went out first. So mine is just taking longer and i'm getting really frustrated coz it should of only taken a few days to get to NVC, now its been almost 1 month.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS - NVC

I'm so terribly sorry, you are attempting to hijaak this topic with an unrelated question.

I strongly suggest you start yer own own topic in a K-1 forum, and stay OUT of the CR-1 forum.

in the meantime - K-1 petitions are totally different, when it comes to NVC processing. Suggest you have the USC person contact NVC via telephone, get a Human™, and GET the NVC casefile number , also inquire for 'when it left NVC'. Then call DOS Hotline, get a Human™, and inquire for casefile status using the NVC casefile number.

In the future, please - do NOT hijaak other topics with unrelated questions. This Visa Stuff is serious, and you've just created a medium sized faux paux.

Wow there is no need to be rude. I'm only human and made a mistake and posted on this forum. And yes I do understand that this visa stuff is serious and im taking it seriously. I"m not attempting to hijaack this topic either. All you had to say is go to a different forum and post on that side. People like me are new and need as much help as possible, no unnecessary comments like these. But thanks for the info though, next time I will go to the right forum.

It's not a "change of address". Mail goes to the address on the envelope. USCIS will mail to the address you give them. It's up to you who has the new private mailbox address and who doesn't but it's "your" private address. Mail addressed to your house will go to your house.

Great! I called my local UPS store and it seems like that may work out. Just.. a couple more questions!! Because there are several different places that the address is needed for different forms.
I-129F: Part A, #2 Address (Number and street)
I-129F: Part B, #14 Address in the United States where your fiance plans to live
G-325A: Applicants residence for last 5 years

Should I list my UPS Mailbox address on Part A, #2 of the I-129F in order to have all coorespondence from USCIS be sent to my UPS mailbox?
Should I list my current residence (though my boyfriend and I will move into an apartment after getting married) for Part B, #14 of the I-129F form?

Thanks for all your help!! We really do appreciate it!:D

B #14 can be "to be determined, City"

G-325a, I would use it as your current address. It's just biographical, not an interrogation.

Okay, so then Part A #2 would be my UPS Mailbox? And then all corespondence from USCIS would be sent there?

So, to add to her question, B # 14 I can put on the application "to be determined, City" and I don't need to put an exact address? Will USCIS accept that? I'm afraid of it getting returned....

Hello, i'm new here and need advice. My fiance is currently living in the Philippines. He is right now in the process of filing his annulment which we hope is going to be finish my August. As soon as everything is settled with his annulment, we will be filing the fiance visa. Just recently though he was offered a job in Canada. So now we are kind of stuck. They want him to leave soon. Contract is for 2 years. Can we still file the fiance visa even if he goes to Canada or should we just wait till his contract is over? If we can file the fiance visa, what would we need to do next? Any advice would be great. Thanks
