K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 AND I-129F ???

18 months is not an acurate time.

I'm just going by the processing dates shown at https://egov.immigra...nter=California

I-129F, June 1, 2006
I-130, Mar 16, 2005

Our receipt date is Oct 2, 2006, so that would be 4 months for an I-129F and 18 1/2 months for the I-130. The recorded message gives these same dates.

The guide here says that an I-129F should be filed after receiving the NOA1 on the I-130. Our lawyer never mentioned anything about that. Should we be doing that and why? From the current processing times we're looking at about 18 months until they process the I-130.

NOA 2 came in the mail saying the I-130 has been approved and will be forwarded to the NVC. The website still says pending. After NVC it says it will be forwarded to the consulate. Anyone know if that will be the Tijuana consulate where my wife lives or the Juarez consulate where they do the final interviews? What's next?

We have been married 2 and a half years. We were married in Tijuana, Mexico. We submitted the I-130 this year in September. We received the NOA stating our receipt date was 2 October, 2006. At the time the processing date at the California Service Center said 16 May, 2006. Ok, so we had a few months to wait. I resigned to making a long commute including crossing the border.

When USCIS updated their processing time page on 5 December, 2006, it now says 16 March, 2005 !!!!! 15 months longer wait than before. Could this be a typo??? How could they be losing time unless they just found several thousand petitions that were misplaced?

Any help, comments, suggestions?
