USCIS Service CentersSent I-129F to TSC!

DO YOU THINK NEW FEE'S WILL SLOW DOWN K1 and K3 VISA APPLICATIONS?

I would not think by very much if you can afford to travel and fly your fiancee to the US the extra $$$ should not make a darn difrence, if the fee was $1000 it would still get paid IMO, just my $.02 for what it is worth. I am sure it may delay a few people but I would hate to think an extra ~$300 would make someone not follow threw!

USCIS Service CentersSent I-129F to TSC!

And I should of sent to VCS (in NO,LA) according to what I just read on the USCIS website! Fraken-A! I would love for it to go to the VSC... but now I am all conserned x2. Things will take longer, and I may have to pay the $455 instead of the $170...

Does anyone have any experiance filling at the wrong center and what happens? :help:

Daggo

Depends on what state you live in. New orleans LA??...there is no service center there.

Hope you are talking about a K1 for a fiancee.

Sorry to clarify I sent it the the Texas service senter, but I am in New Orleans, LA sorry not to be clear however I was panicking just a bit.

Also I noticed that I should of sent it to the Texas SC anyhow... at least as far as I can tell.

If you refrence this page is has the TSC listed... with and extra 1 in the ZIP witch I know is now in all of my documents because I would of copied and pasted all that nfo...

I was just looking at this page and did not notice the 7/30/07 effective date, I wonder what this will do for existing filings? Will the TSC compleate what they have or send the papers to VSC? Almost seams like it would have been worth it to wait till today to file and pay the extra $$$ to be at the VSC with there shorter processing time, but I guess it is too late for that.

Had a moment of panic all over for now... thanks for the feedback fellas that was quick!

PhilippinesPosible western travel destinations for Filipinos?

Mexico, Bahamas and Jamaica welcome all tourists. However, unlike US citizens who can freely travel almost anywhere in the world without visa, Filipinos require visas to enter these countries.

For example, to travel to Mexico, the Mexican Embassy in Manila requires that your fiancee hold a valid US or Canadian or European visa before they issue her a Mexican visa. They require the visa as she will need to transit through a western nation to board her flight to these exotic locations. I am guessing that holding a visa issued by a western country is probably the same for Jamaica and the Bahamas.

The only countries that Filipinos can travel to without visa are the Asian countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, etc. The requirements for issuing tourist visa to a young, single Filipina are very stringent. Below is an example.

LIST OF REQUIREMENTS FOR FILIPINO CITIZENS TO APPLY FOR A TOURIST VISA TO ENTER MEXICO

* Passport (with validity of at least six months).
* One photocopy of the page of the passport with picture of passport holder, and of the last page where the signature of the Officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Embassy of Consulate of the Republic of the Philippines appears.
* One passport size photograph (2”x 2”).
* Airline round trip ticket (original and photocopy).
* A photocopy of U.S, Canandian, or any other European Visa is required depending on the route of the trip.
* One valid Identification Card (ID) original & photocopy including the backside. Please present any of the following:
o Driver’s License
o SSS / GSIS ID card
o Company ID
o Valid Student ID
* Financial solvency. Provide All of the following (original and photocopy):
o Valid International Credit Card (including the backside where the signature is found)
o Paid Credit Card Statements (3 most recent months)
o Updated bank Statements / Certifications
o Updated Passbooks/ Bank Books (front page & page with last updated amount
o Income Tax Return Paper (if employed); Business ownership certifications, duly registered by the Securites and Exchange Commission (SEC). (if self-employed)

* Certification of Employment (original).
* Personal Appearance.

Ah quick correction in my hast I typed 'we both have visas'... I meant passports.

Thank you so very much for your reply, so it appears as though having her vacation with me in the US is just as likely as these other locals :crying:

I thought there was a good reason I had not seen any examples of this, I would imagine it would be at least a little popular. Ah looks like I better take a second look at my finances for another visit.

PhilippinesPosible western travel destinations for Filipinos?
Thinking of ways that I can spend time with my hinigugma before our I-129f if fully processed, and keeping my work happy not taking too long off I came up with a great idea if it is possible.

I remember reading another post where someone was able to take there SO to Hong Kong because of there policy for visiting Filipinos. As I have not seen or heard of a such a thing yet especially for any western hemisphere local. Still after a bit of googling I am still not able to find an answer, so I thought I would attempt to tap the vast bits of knowledge here at VJ.

Does Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, or ANY other (well not Cuba ) county allow Filipino citizens to visit as a tourist? Or is this restriction a policy of the Philippines it's self? This would make a visit together MUCH more feasible before flying her over as a contractor I don't get paid vacation and taking an extra week off for travel and jet leg recoup time is very expensive on top of all the other expenses we'll be racking up soon enough!

Also we both have visas, if there are any feasible destinations for us are there any addition requirements.

Thanks for you time and Regards,

Gretchen cant wait to change her name. She loves her last name but she is looking forward to having my last name. she will take her last name as her middle name and lose her current middle name which she doesnt like anyway. So that worked out really well. best of both worlds.

Chris

Ah yes this is the traditional Filipino way, as a nice coincidence Lonesa and I will have great monogrammed towels with LLT and JJT after we get married wink.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsATTENTION JULY FILERS!
QUOTE (Rob & Jin @ Sep 19 2007, 07:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
VJ tracks by both by date sent ( which in my opinion is meaningless), and by receipt date ( this is receipt date on Noa-1), but many people here are tracking either by the date they received the hard copy ( meaningless) and the date sent ( meaningless).

Just some perspective from the 'other side'. All of these dates are not meaningless. I will give examples.

I mailed my application in on the July 24th, this date is important because it determines what fees I pay.

It was received on the 27th, I sent it to TSC. This is important because when I was freaking out about not having a NOA1 or my check cashed, until I found 3 others on this very forum in almost the exact same situation! Guess what they had not received NOA1s either... no more freaking out for me...

I tend to use this site as a weather balloon of sorts, so many people going threw this shared experience as me, with dates before, and after. I watch what steps they are going threw and what there experiences are, then I am prepared for what is coming next!

My opinion is this site need not be cut up into such strict groupings, and it appears this is not the intent either!

Just food for thought, and maybe you can see things a bit better from this 'July' filers perspective hehe wink.gif

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaInterview in Ecuador
Thanks for the advice. And I will make sure that we have the same story. Realistically, they may not even ask about that, but I should have something ready anyway.

I have decided I will go down to the interview regardless - it's not worth the risk - I'll just have to make it for a very short time and take the time off.

Thanks for the advice!!

Fingers crossed and holding my breath..

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaInterview in Ecuador
I know this is a bit early, but of course I am obsessing because I want time to go by faster, so I am thinking about this now.

My fiance and I did not really have a formal engagement, it was more of a discussion of how our relationship would progress. We had discussed becoming engaged before I left Ecuador in December, but at first we just applied for a visitor visa and got rejected. The day after his failed interview, he asked me to marry him! Of course, this was partially because we wanted to be together, and we knew he would not get approved for the visitor visa. It does not change the fact that we want to spend our lives together.

That being said, I do not know what to say about the timeline of our engagement at the interview? Should we say we got engaged while I was in Ecuador? Or should we say it was after I left? I am just worried that they will say that this is a fraud because we applied for the Fiance visa after he got rejected from the visitor visa.

Anyone have any advice? The embassy will be in Guayaquil. Also, how important is it for me to be there for the interview - I am a teacher, and I believe that it might be the first couple weeks of school - a HORRIBLE time to be absent.

Thanks for your help!!

Caitlin (Catalina cuando estoy en Ecuador je je)
