INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE(just a brief one)

At exactly 6 AM I Arrived in US Embassy. I fell in line with the wrong booth..! I asked the guard and he point me there that?s why! So after the 25 person in front of me in the line, when it?s my turn already the lady simply told me, ?Ma?am the K1 Applicants are there? while pointing in the right booth. I just laugh at myself a little. I showed the guard my SSS ID and the appointment letter. She let me passed , and trying to direct me to the next line I will have to go. Fell in line again, entered gate 3.Inside US embassy we we?re instructed to seat while waiting for our turn in a booth where to submit the DS forms. (2)DS156, (2) DS157, (1)DS156K. No other forms to submit other than that coz I?ve seen a lot who are trying to submit another form, I just didn?t see exactly what it is. Be sure you already filled up every forms, don?t leave any blank or else it will add up in the delay. Paste or staple your 2 by 2 pics in the DS156.(put pics in both forms). When I?m already in the front line the lady asked me where is my medical and passport, blah blah blah..I simply said St luke?s have it and told me they will be the one who will forward it.

This is the most boring part?I waited for my number to flash in the board for 1 hr and 15 mins(hay nako)..Instead I heard my name being called to fall in line in Window 16 for finger scanning. After that, waited 30 minutes again for my number to flash for the pre-screener interview..I?m in window 22, With a very nice guy(unlike in my Daughter?s CRBA, the pre-screener is such an hmmmp!!!)he interviewed me for 20 minutes..He get my CENOMAR, NBI, and BC first. Then asked for my name, who is my petitioner, what is his job, how did we meet, how many times he visited me, where is our daughter, when is the first time we meet in person. Then He asked for my fiancé?s ITR,w2, paychecks if I have them..I gave it, then asked me to give every evidence I can give to prove our relationship, So the Consul will not ask me so many more questions.. :)!He?s so nice:)

I waited another 15 minutes for the Consul interview. And the Pre screener is right, he only asked me this questions

1.when is your birthday?
2.How did you meet your fiancé?
3.Where is he born?
4.Where is he in States?
5.What is his job?
6.Do you have a child?
7.Do you have a plan on getting married before your visa expired?

That?s just it and the Consul Smiles at me and said. Ok ma?am your visa has been approved, Congratulations..!Medical Exam is much more sweating than this interview.

PhilippinesHow much PHP and $$$ to bring=),

Hi,

My 2 cents. I went there last month and for expending...not including hotel, around $300 dollars daily. That is about 13,000php. I think you can do it for less..depends on what you like to do.

we will not be staying in a hotel  I guess a $500 pocket money will be enough with all the hidden fees..blah blah blah  My fiance got shocked..he said 500 :bonk:

show mo na lang yung US passport ng daughter mo. but don't forget...even though you're the only one to pay travel tax, all three of you will have to pay for the terminal fee of P750 each (you'll be able to pay in $ as well kung wala kang dala Peso).

have a safe flight kabayan!!

OP...the only way i know you'll be exempted from the travel tax is if you are not a filipino citizen. your husband and daughterwill not have to pay the travel tax but you will have to. so make sure you bring enough and then some! because once you go to the boarding area and you guys get hungry, the stores in that side ONLY takes cash. advice ko lang syo...pay your travel tax first before going to the check-in counter...para hindi ka pabalik-balik. right after you go through the first security check sa front door, the counter right in front of you will be where you need to pay it. be sure to get your passports and tickets ready because they will ask you for that. yung terminal fee mo you pay that pag papasok ka na sa boarding area.

My daughter is already a US Citizen but of course she is a Filipino Citizen as well,do I have to pay for her travel tax too?? I have both her US and PI Passport.

How much is the Philippine Travel Tax?
For adult passengers, the travel tax is PHP1,620 (Business and Economy class) and PHP810 for children (2-11 years).

I bought my ticket from your website. Is travel tax already included in the total amount paid?
No. Philippine Travel Tax is not included in the total fare quoted online. For international journeys, Philippine travel tax, if applicable, shall be collected by the Philippine Tourism Authority at Philippine Airports.

Travel tax shall be levied on (a) all citizens of the Philippines; (b) permanent resident aliens; and © non-immigrant aliens who have stayed in the Philippines for more than one (1) year, who are leaving the country.

If you are exempted from paying the Philippine Travel Tax or entitled to a reduced travel tax, please secure applicable certificates such as follows, from Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA), Department of Tourism (DOT) before making reservations:

*

Tax Exemption Certificate (TEC) if you are exempted from paying the Philippine Travel Tax
*

Reduced Travel Tax Certificate (RTTC) if you are qualified for a reduced Philippine Travel Tax and
*

Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) if you are an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW)

can anyone explain this further to me?I know we are exempted, right?but do I still have to get those idiot certificates?Sorry have so many questions, wanna be sure with everything

The last time my fiance flew with PAL is already 15 months ago, so he is wondering what are the fees that i have to pay in the airport when we are about to leave the Philippines.I wanna hear from all those who specifically flew with PAL.How much Php do i need to bring?? plus our(me and my daughter) POE is in San Francisco, are there any fees that i have to pay there? Coz my fiance said he never paid any fees in SF airport. But I wanna be sure since he is a US citizen and I'm just flying with a K1 Visa. I just hope that we will be put in the US citizen lane :D since my Daughter is already a US Citizen  This is the most terrifying and exciting travel I will ever do in my life.. :P Hope everything will go smoothly, coz I will be with a super hyper active toddler that never wants to be held so much and just want to run around and play :(

Hope anyone can give me an idea of the fees that have to be paid..We already saw a flying date to book, its a bit pricey but i guess will be worth it since its a direct flight. I will never want any stop over since I will be with my daughter..

God bless and Thanks in Advance!

PhilippinesVisa Approved after 221g

As you all might have read in my fiancé's old post, I was given a 221g slip (blue form) on July 1, 2010. I hurried back to the Embassy on the soonest day possible which was July 6, 2010 and submitted the lacking document. (Jordan's pay checks) I called the U.S. Embassy last week and I was told that my case was still under Administrative Review. I decided to call again today since I just got home and I was hoping for good news to start my weekend with. I called the U.S Embassy and talked to an agent named Bella. She broke the news to me and said that my visa was approved on July 13, 2010. I should expect my visa in the mail within 7-10 days.

I truly believe that there is a rainbow after the storm. This happens to be the most luminescent rainbow that has entered my life.

To those who got blue slips like I did, please don't lose hope. I know how disappointment that comes with receiving a blue one when you aim for a pink. It's a bitter pill to swallow but it can be remedied by submitting the appropriate documents.

To follow up on your case, call the Embassy at 3012000 and do it at least once a week. This is a local number if you need more information regarding this matter, you can email the Embassy at ConsManilaNIV@state.gov

Thank you so much Tin, Sherryl,Shiela and to the other lovely ladies I've met on this site. Also, heaps of thanks to Tahoma, Happy, Jason, Joy, Rox and baby Tyree! Posted Image

I ended the call by telling the lady that she just made my day and I incessantly thanked her. I ran to my mom's room, jumped on the bed and gave her a big bear hug! She asked me why I was crying hysterically so I told her that I finally got approved. The tears were brimming in her eyes when she asked me when I intended to leave. I looked at her with a quick retort, "I don't wanna leave yet." We just started laughing and then I called Jordan.

I know that I'm rambling so I'll end it here. Thank you for being part of our journey. I'm on an emotional high so excuse me as I hug everyone in my house.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Philippinesprenup
My fiance and I have been so open with each other..Before knowing me he already is coming back for 5 times in the Philippines plus he have a lot of Filipina friends(nurses, since he worked in a hospital). He also have a lot of Filipina Ex Gf's.So he knew so much about all this things. He knows so well too that SOME filipina are visa hunters(they just want the greencard)..even his Filipina co workers especially his mother doubts me still..But as for me, that is understandable..I will give them them enough time to know me and see who I really am..We knew each other August 2007, got engaged june 2008!And now we have a baby. I MAKE IT A PROMISE TO MYSELF THAT I WILL NEVER ASK A SINGLE CENTAVO TO HIM TO JUST GIVE MY FAMIY,I WILL ONLY SEND MONEY TO MY FAMILY IF ITS FROM MY OWN HARDWORK.Unless he will give on his own.

DO WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT AND WHAT YOUR HEART WANTS...As for my fiance he said NO NEED for pre nup..COZ I'M HIS SOUL MATE, AND HIS EVERYTHING AND HE WILL GIVE AND DO EVERYTHING FOR US, AS LONG AS HE LIVES..Even he's own mom didn't do nothing to stop him from proposing to me.. :bonk:
CATHYlovesRICKFemale02010-07-16 23:59:00
PhilippinesWhy there are pinays out there who feels so conceited about theirselves once they arrived here in the States?

I have been to few states for work purposes and sometimes when I met a filipina as well, considering the time she was just here in the states, (say just 2-6 months) they feel like they've just earn the right to be a b**ch, and some thinks their a$*es don't stink.. I mean, there are so many trying hard to blend-in that quick in the American way ( e.g the way they cloth their selves, the way they talk, interpret things). Just because some girls married a foreigner they evolved too quick. I don't blame other people why they would immediately think that these types of gals really just use their husbands as a ticket to the USA. It makes me aggravated everytime I come across with a fellow pinay who acts like this.
Why can't we just put our feet on the ground and stay humble. CAN SOMEBODY ENLIGHTEN ME WHY THIS HAPPENS???

A GOOD ADVICE TO ALL THE FILIPINAS WHO ACT LIKE THIS!!!

You are bringing the Phillipines to the United States, and it is a far better thing to do than to try to hide or forget who you are. Be strong and bring your own desires to share something only you can do. Don't try to be something you hope people will like, but be something they have missed and didn't know.

In otherwords,be brave and strong. Carry your love close to your heart and never forget your heritage and where you came from.

ah...i see from your post that you've experienced the pride parade that happens on weekends huh?...LOL. there's lots of things na mapupuntahan dyan. you can take a stroll on market street and see the shopping centre. or go to chinatown. fleet week is coming up in october. so that whole week, don't be surprised when you see and hear the blue angels flying over head throughout the day practicing for their show. and then on the day of the blue angels show, you head on over to crissy field or baker's beach (also known as the nude beach...but depende sa side you go to) to watch them do their stunts. if you get lucky, maybe they'll fly under the bridge. and the best part?....it's all free!!!

THAT IS REALLY THE GREAT PART WE ARE HAVING SO MUCH FUN WITHOUT SPENDING SO MUCH...COZ WE HAVE TO BE WISE WITH MONEY LALU NA SI HUBBY LANG NAG WOWORK AND WE HAVE TO SAVE FOR OUR BABY'S FUTURE!!!SABI NGA NIYA, THANK GOD YOU ARE NOT LIKE ANY OTHER "girls"..lol!!!If you know what I MEAN!!!

PhilippinesSan Francisco, OUR NEW HOME!!!

ah...you're around upper castro. malapit sa duboce area right? they got nice houses there. yeah...that area has a lot of uphill, pero after a while, masasanay ka rin. madali lang matandaan ang mga routes. if you're in doubt, you can always ask the bus driver to help you out. sabihin mo lang where you're trying to get to...tapos sasabihan ka nila where to get off and (if needed) which line to transfer to. ask hubby na dalin ka across golden gate bridge to the marin headlands. you can see the whole SF from the headlands. a real sight for sore eyes.

We've been there twice..hehehe!!!In his apartment alone from the patio, I am so relaxed and happy to see the wonderful city lights at night...I just didn't expect how liberal this city is until i see naked gays in the street dancing :lol:Hubby said don't look...hmmmm...hahaha!!!

There you say it...Really expensive real estate...Hubby always tells me that we are his greatest blessings and HIS LIFE WILL CHANGE FOR GOOD NOW!!!I can't believe how he tells each and everyone even strangers that he love his NEW LIFE and HE WILL GIVE HIS WHOLE LIFE TAKING GOOD CARE OF US...The good thing about the 2 of us is that we value family so much!!

PhilippinesSan Francisco, OUR NEW HOME!!!

the best part about living in the city is that you have the muni bus system. they come every 15 minutes which is great if you want to take your daughter around. which district do you live in? we used to live in the Richmond District off of 40th ave and then on 8th ave near Parnassus/SF State.

We are in Grandview Terrace, 20 minutes drive to Golden gate..So glad there is a baby/kids park just 10 minutes walk away our place but its taking me 20 minutes going back home pushing my daughter's stroller coz its uphill..LOL!!!Yes, so many buses and I am starting to learn all the routes so if I have to go somewhere i don't always have to wait for my Love to drive us...
