United KingdomLondon Embassy email "Your e-mail was deleted without being read"
I sent the London Embassy a lovely email saying :-

Dear Consular Officer:

I recently mailed Packet 3 back to the Embassy in London and delivery was confirmed by Royal Mail. My case number is LND **********.

My fiance would like to plan a trip from the US for my interview date.
I know you have a long line of people to attend to, but she wanted me to inquire about a date as soon as possible so she could book a flight enough in advance to make it affordable/possible for her to be here.

We've completed all other steps and are just waiting now. I was wondering if you could please help me to find an interview date? My fiance and I would be extremely grateful for any information you could provide.

Thank you for your time and help!

Regards,
Adrian Jackson

United KingdomGot an interview date yay!
Thanks, you all! Looks like London averages about 5 days on getting the Visa in hand.

Does anyone know how or why some lucky folks get the Visa on the same day as the interview? Can anyone who has had that happen share some light on how? Or what the embassy said?? Thanks!

The flights right now are cheap enough to book it and still pay change fees if necessary.... the last minute ones on our route cost double +, no matter which airline! So, it's a lot cheaper to make a guess and hope for the best!

United KingdomThis is the waiting for packet 4 thread.

Just wanted to pass on a bit of info to those waiting for Packet 4 & Interview Date from London Embassy. I looked at the timelines of 43 couples who have had (or have scheduled) London Embassy interviews from Jan. 2007 through now (I am a bit of a geek). The average number of days from sending in Packet 3 to Interview Day is 49 days. So take your Packet 3 send date and add 49 days and you may have a fairly good estimate (e.g. March 1 Packet 3 sent results in estimating an April 19 interview date). (This assumes that the Embassy is actually able to find your forms after you mail the forms to them ... they seem to misplace quite a few.)

For my husband & me, this formula was 1 day off from our actual scheduled date.

I would be interested to see what the Min/max days were for the 43 couples.

Me too, Ive just sent in Packet 3, whats the procedure, numbers, email addresses for chasing the Embassy about a date ?

Thanks Sue, Kim, safitu, jlvr and anyone I missed! We are so excited! We bought our plane tickets ages ago, as soon as his interview date was set, so I am glad his Visa was already delivered by the courier in 2 short days - - WOW!!

I am flying over to pick him up tomorrow, then we are getting ready for June 9th - weird so many things happen that day - it is also my parent's 40th Anniv. this year! We thought that might bring us luck! :D

Good luck to everyone - keep the faith and don't let it drive you crazy. The wheels grind along slowly, but we are proof that they are at least moving!! We will stop back in soon for everyone's progress report -- I want good news!

That's it - the power of positive thought! Perhaps we can heap a lot of that towards Morocco (L) and hope that the Embassy can reopen soon!

Thanks for the good wishes!

For us the worst is OVER! YAY!!!!! Just wait until you feel the relief - it is even better than I anticipated - you'll see! :D

So, who has interviews scheduled from our group? And is Safitu still the only Visa issued (from Feb-VSC)?

Adrian's interview in London is tomorrow (5/9) at 10 am! We are so excited - I am stressed here in the US, and he is confidently snoozing there in some flea bag hotel in London ! :D I am so freaking nervous. After all these months of waiting, THIS IS IT!

If he gets an approval, will we be the 2nd VSC-February filer with a Visa issued? Or has anyone else made it yet?

Keeping fingers crossed and sending speedy approval wishes to all of you!

Good luck with that form, Tony... the medical is a breeze, other than being a trip to London on the train.

What are you guys doing about moving all of your "stuff" across? How expensive do you think it will be? Has anyone priced it with moving companies? Freight shipping? Pods or boat cargo? Airline surplus baggage? Or other options....?

We are even bringing a cat over! :o

Since we Vermont folks are flying through we better start to plan these things :D

Looks like you will have to make a trip to London or the Edinburgh consulate for swearing this form. I would call them to check first, because you probably need an appointment! (Unless you have a parent co-sponsor in the US which must be pretty common if you are a student-then maybe they could do it stateside?)

Ours went in from the US with our 129-F, so I am afraid I can't be of much help other than telling you that they do want the original of this document, not a copy. And all kinds of supporting documents - even a freakin' letter from my bank - this was by FAR the biggest headache of our application form!!!

Best of luck with it!
Congrats on Packet 3 -- you guys are hot on our heels - haha! :star:

We are still celebrating Adrian's interview date of May 9th -- take heart since you guys shouldn't be far behind us!!!

Shannon

Packet 3 arrived today!

Got a quick question for those in the know. As my finace is in the UK with me and will be until the interview, we are concerned of where we get the Affidavit of support notorised
.

We read:

If you are outside the United States, the affidavit
must be sworn to or notice affirmed before a U.S.
consular or immigration officer.

Does anyone know where I can go to get this done in the Uk? Can it be done at the interview?

Most of our paperwork is done....but....

I still have to do my taxes! Since the interview is after April 15, and they want the most recent year tax return, that means 2006! I better get to it....

Hurry up May 9th!

Thanks! :D

Wow - Thats insanely fast!

Assuming you have the medical scheduled too?

It is wonderful! We do feel bad for those who filed in California, though - but still have to be happy for this blessing!

Thanks Tony + Danielle, safitu, jlvr, and Sue for your congrats!!! Wishing good news for you all soon!

To answer Tony's Q, Adrian had his medical in London on Mar. 26. Went fine - other than being really expensive (about 500 USD) - he just had to have a tetnus shot and a rubella shot. He called to schedule the medical as soon as he got packet 3.

Now we are just worrying about how long it will take London to get him the passport with the Visa in it.... some say days, some say weeks. We're debating on when to get plane tickets but it's a nice problem to have since the end of the tunnel is finally in sight!

Good for you!!!!! Hate to be an #######-rententive freak show about how many touches did you get before the NOA2? I know that oth tonyeck and I got two last week, but neither of us had heard anything.

We got NO touches before NOA 2, nothing since NOA 1 at all and we were worried we'd been sent to the "warehouse" ...! It only takes some of the adjudicators 15 minutes to do a case, according to the Husker guy's posts, so you might not get any touches or could get lots - just depends, I guess!

Everyone might be interested in this website my fiance and I use to figure out how long it will be until we see each other-- it's very useful!

We got an email that NOA 2 was mailed on Friday, 23rd. Feb.!!! (We both were spouting gray hairs!!!) YAY!!

We used the old form. We followed the instructions in a "K-1 kit" we bought on the internet to the letter... was a $50 kit but seems to have pleased Vermont so it was money well spent!

We are so thankful, and pray for speedy attention to everyone still waiting.... fingers crossed :)

I must say that the journey is far from over but we are really relieved and thankful to hear that NOA 2 is on the way! You will be too -- hang in there and have a cold bottle of champagne standing by in (both) refrigerators since it happens when you least expect it!

And rememeber, and email from "CRIS" is definitely NOT spam! :D

I can't believe it - we've been hoping, praying, worrying, and all so much!!

Just one thing - if you get an email from "CRIS" it is not spam - to think I almost deleted it! It is from the USCIS service Center, I verified it on the case status web page. HURRAY!!

I hope this give hope to all of you out there still waiting in agony. 21 days to NOA 2!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's hope London is as fast!

I'll say that EPlum's approval IS quick! Good for them! We are only a few days behind them since ours was rec'd in Vermont 2/5. Curious: Who signed for your packages in Vermont? Ours was signed for by "A. Scot" --> we thought that was good luck since we'd just had a marvelous time at a Edinburgh hotel named the Scotsman!!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone -- especially all those who are apart today!
