IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Approved	2009-01-14 : Touched - (11:00 AM) 2009-01-14 : I-130 NOA2 (Approved (7:00 PM) - 141 days from NOA1 date) I think 7PM is when they send out the Approval emails - I have found found 3 others that said 7PM too... I believe it is based off of the last year's income only - I showed almost ZERO income for previous 2 years, but my income for last year was well over 125% - only used my w2 / tax returns without listing any assets and had no problems . I check the USCIS website everyday but still the same... Our petition hasn't even been touched since NOA1 Receipt Number: WACXXXXXXXXXX Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN Current Status: Case received and pending. On August 26, 2008, we received this I130.....bla bla bla... We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. Well, we are patiently waiting... and waiting... I just hope our FIRST TOUCH = NOA2 but in the meantime... It is taking longer than the attorney told me it would and we still have a few months of waiting, so we just make the best of it and think positive until then. I LOVE YOU BABY and I know you read these forums every single day so I imagine you will find this post in a day or two - I just wish I could see your face when you read what is next... So I was thinking and was thinking of how to cheer you up and suddenly.... MAYBE for Valentines Day you might enjoy a little time on the beach... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	is attorney needed?	I took personal law in college, but I still retained an attorney. I actually found Visa Journey after I had started the process with an attorney, but before our I-130 was filed and fired my attorney because he was moving too slow and I could see I could get things done faster myself. EVERY PERSONS CASE IS DIFFERENT! MY ANSWER to the question of If you retain an attorney or not? is that you decision should be based from your personal situation and comfort level with doing it yourself. READ THE GUIDES - Then look at YOUR OWN INDIVIDUAL circumstances and decide. YOU SAID... "I plan to start the k1 visa process within the next 3 months after i return from the philippine to meet requirment for having met in person in the last to year (btw this will be our 3rd meeting)." From what I read, why wait until you get back to file? File now and have your NOA1 sitting in your mailbox when you get backto the US - If you decide to use an attorney, there are THOUSANDS of them that "SPECIALIZE" in immigration and you can fill out everything online then they tell you what you need to do, print your filled out forms, check them over, mail them back to you so you can sign and send... (Personal Experience... Stay away from ATTY Michael S. Solomon - Slow Moving and Expensive) OR you can save a few thousand dollars by READING THE GUIDES and downloading the forms for free fill them out in Adobe yourself, print them and mail them... If you can read and understand English and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS then MY PERSONAL OPINION is that I don't see why anyone can't DYI just as fast as an attorney can or even faster.
