PhilippinesGirls, this is it!
when did you realize that He was the one for you?

Before there was us, my life seemed dull. I looked for love in the wrong places and have gotten hurt. I almost gave up on love. I thought that I will never find the one person who will make me happy and who will love me in spite of my faults. Then i met Shane, a very wonderful guy. I was hesitant at first considering our differences. But he never gave up on me. Not once. He was always there for me, though sometimes i ignored him. He waited until I was ready to open my heart. He never once rushed me into making decisions. From then on, I knew that this is the man that I will spend the rest of my life with. He has touched my life in a way that nobody else has. He changed the way i see myself and the way I see life.

We are still going and growing strong for over 3 years.

It was last year of April 5th when he proposed to me at a jewelry shop in the mall. He really kneeled down in front of me. blush.gif wub.gif

Hey ladies...can u tell us how to go to St. Mary's QC? If commute lang by jeep, sa Cubao ba sasakay? Anong route ng jeep ang sasakyan namin na dadaan sa St. Mary's? Raeka and I are planning to attend the seminar together as always hehe...coz we still wanna see each other at para ndi kme mabored. I would gladly appreciate the infos u will share to us abt CFO in St. Mary's smile.gif

When i went to St. Mary's.. bumaba ako sa Aurora Blvd.. I was thinking to ride a jeepney kaso i am not sure if there's a cross walk. So i did ride a cab. Along Aurora Blvd. i paid 60php. Tell the cab driver ibaba kayo sa tapat ng PSBA. Nung bumaba ako in front of PSBA nakita ko may cross walk. Naisip ko, sana i took jeepney na lang. Anyway, it's your choice naman eh. Sa tapat ng PSBA may cross walk and there is a MMDA officer to help you to cross the road. Tapat mismo ng PSBA ang St. Marys.

Good luck! star_smile.gif

PhilippinesNeed Advice/ Help Please
yeah.. tell her to activate her ROAMING service 24 hours before she leaves Manila. GLOBE mobile service is much better than SMART. I met a filipina in Narita Airport and her SMART Roaming Service was bad. She was glad she have her GLOBE Roaming as well.

At NAIA, the first thing she will do is to check-in. Then she will pay for the fees. After she pays her fees, she will go back to the airport employee (at the check-in counter) who will print her boarding pass and baggage. There are a lot of employees at NAIA where she can ask what to do next. Tell her DON'T BE SHY TO ASK ON WHAT TO DO NEXT. It won't hurt to ask.

When she gets to her connecting flights (airport).. THE FIRST THING SHE WOULD DO is find the gate number where she will board. Tell her that she can find the gate number on her boarding pass.

At my state destination the immigration officer did not ask me questions cause he knows my hubby (they work together for DHS). But i read here in VJ that the immigration officers asks the same questions they ask in the interview. Not all though. Then the immigration officer will remind her about the 90 days period to get married.

And she will be greeted, WELCOME TO UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

Good luck! star_smile.gif

Hey, super thank you sa mga replies nyong lahat ha!

Well, about the question on how i weighed my baggage, i only have a personal flat weighing scale that we have at home. I already used that to weigh my baggage before when i traveled abroad in 2002 and even sa mga local flights ko lang. Accurate naman sya basta tinitilt ko young box kse ndi naman sya kasya dun sa maliit na flat surface nung weighing scale. At least, it gives me the idea if kulang or sobra na ba sa 23 kgs. I'm planning na magexcess sa isang baggage ko basta not more than 5 kgs ang excess and ok lang din if i'm going to pay basta wag lang sobrang mahal at afford ko pa kesa nman magbawas ako at manghinayang na ndi ko pa dinala eh halos lahat naman ng pinack ko are really important items to me. Sana nga khit an excess of 1 or 2 kgs if 23 kgs ang weight limit sa China Airlines eh iallow na nila yon at wag na ipenalty hehe...

Kapatid, halos lahat ng meron dito meron di sa US.
Kung pwedeng dun mo na bilihin, iwan mo na lang. Besides, you are immigrating to the US... hindi naman mag-lalast lahat ng supplies mo. blush.gif
suggestion lang naman. kasi minsan over over and singil dun... para ka ng bumili ng bagong stuffs... and i-wi-wish mo bumili ka na lang ng bagong stuffs.

Good luck! Happy trip!

she have a point. just bring a few pairs of jeans and tops when you & your man wants to hang out. and pair of pj's na pwede mo suot sa bahay lang. besides you will be here in a great time, SUMMER. you don't need to bring a lot of clothes. when you get here in the states, saka ka na lang bumili ng mga clothes that you can use, specially for winter. mas kailangan mo yun. besides summer is the great season to buy winter clothes kasi mura.

about your baggage. anything excess you will pay for it. check your airline. you can bring 2 check-in baggage 23kgs each. but make it 21 or 22kgs.

have a happy and safe trip!

Hi Guys! I just need your opinion regarding the things that I am going to bring to US. I will start packing tomorrow, so I just want to know if what I will bring are allowed to US.

Here's the list:

Electronic Gadgets
- a big laptop with malfunction screen (my first laptop, I want to bring it because I haven't extract my important files, my fiance can fix it for me)
- small laptop (which I will use during stop over)
- portable hard drive
- USB
- digicam
- cellphone
- gameboy advance

Clothing, shoes, and bags, accessories (kikay things), and some very few jewelry

Perfume(mine and my fiance), soap and shampoo (I need to bring first those things because I have sensitive skin, I will try to look products that will suit my skin)

*** I want to bring food such as dried mangoes and polvoron, as well as chicharon... (I will sealed it very well)

All my electronic gadgets would be in my carry-on bag except for big laptop. I will bring also a small bag aside from carry-on bag (where I will put my passport, wallet, compact powder, lip balm, small perfume, hand sanitizer and planner).

Okay... Do you think all those things that I will bring are okay with immigration? I am afraid some will not be okay to them and they will throw it. crying.gif

I will really appreciate your suggestions and comments....

everything is a-OK! make sure you seal the shampoo & perfume with duct tape, put it in between your clothes in your check-in baggage. the foods are ok as well, that's good that you will seal them (though it is already sealed from the store where you bought it).. mas ok na yung double sealed para sigurado.

electronic gadgets are cool. i brought mine to kill time & so i can get in touch with friends. i brough my laptop, digicam, PSP, 2 cellphones (roaming activated) and iPod. i put all of em in my back pack. tapos ung mga documents ko din sa backpack. then extra shirt, undies & maliit na kikay kit. hehehe. yung liquids sa hand carry should not be more than 3ml.

if your airline is NWA check their website & TSA's website.

have a happy & safe trip!

PhilippinesVisa Expiration
If you are in a hurry and do not want to have too much stress to prepare for a church wedding in just 90 days.. then go for a civil wedding then do the church wedding later. That is what my hubby and i did. We went to Toledo, OH to have a courthouse wedding and for him to get me in his insurance right away. He said he is just worried that if i would get sick med fees costs a lot here. So, the day after we got married he changed his status in his insurances and put my name in it too. Then i applied for my SSN. After a week i received in mail my SSN card and health & dental insurance card.

Like others said, before you have church wedding you have to attend seminars. Preparing a church wedding in just 90 days sucks and stressful. After you get married you can apply for AOS.

#######!?!? (sorry for the foul language)... i am sorry to hear that. hindi ko alam saan ako mag-uumpisa at kung ano una kong sasabihin. i got aggravated sa post mo. to be honest ang una ko naisip, yung husband mo is a sick f*! he is a pervert! i am sorry for being mean.. it is just me stating facts from your story. he does not have respect to you and even to your sisters. kung may respeto sya sayo he will not ask you to have sex with you and another girl. threesome? ...mga taong walang matinog pag-iisip lang ang gumagawa nun. if i were you, iiwan ko sya. you deserve better than him girl. that kind of person doesn't deserve your love.

kung may respeto sya sayo ibig sabihin may pagmamahal din sya sayo. that two always go along.

mahal mo sya pero sya walang pagmamahal or respeto man lang sayo.. nasa sayo ang decision kung tutuloy ka pa dito or hindi. kung tutuloy ka makasama ang asawa mo at hindi sya nagbago. gawin mo ito... habang natutulog sya use a super glue at idikit mo ang buntot nya sa harap sa lower abdomen nya. at sundin mo payo ni RonMay, make a journal para may written documentation ka sa kung ano nangyayari sayo everyday. pero like i said, nasyo ang decision. my thoughts and prayers are with you.

PhilippinesHow wierd is your partner while sleeping? hehe

Wow!! your stories are cute. Mostly men snore. Woman snores only when they are tired or they have sleeping disorders.

Well, my hubby don't snore.. he is a United States Marine Veteran and he have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Sleep Apnea, which are both scary. His PTSD gets him when he is getting annoyed, pissed or something. He already went through treatment right after he got out of Marines, so i do not worry about that. Sometimes when he sleeps he shouts and grab his gun and he'll point it to our bedroom door. Then he will hug me tight, like protecting me from someone. I know that he is dreaming about his life when he was in sandbox for years. About sleep apnea, he stops breathing when he sleeps. Right after he came to visit me at PI last year, I told him to go to the doctor for check -up. Now, he sleeps with this breathing machine called CPAP. He sounds like Darth Vader when he sleeps.

Spent the whole day at SMEF and CFO today. Overall it was a great experience. I have met many lovely ladies out there. We even had lunch together at Abuhan beside Robinson's Place.

TIPS and ADVICE: You would opt to bring the requirements you presented to the US Embassy as the SMEF staff may ask for it for their own records. These will be kept in confidence and will be for your own good. It's a shame that when I was going thru the seminar I did notice some women there who are clueless about their partners and what klind of life they are entering. It was also evident for some that they are getting engaged or married for the sake of the money. This made me a lil sick. sad.gif

The SMEF in Cebu have been getting very good feedback and they were all approachable and accommodating. Way to go!

Requirements:
SMEF
K1:
> Passport and visa photocopy
> 2 valid IDs and photocopy
> Photocopy of Birth certificate for me and my daughter
> fee of PHP250.00
***My daughter is 7 so she was not required to join the seminar.

Documents requested:
> Biographic info of fiance
> Letter of employment of fiance
> Letter of intent to marry from fiance
> Photocopy of divorce decree of fiance
> Photocopy divorce certificate of fiance
> Photocopy of fiance's birth certificate
> Pictures together

CFO
K1:
> Blue certificate from SMEF
> Photocopy of passport and visa
> Passport and visa
> fee of PHP400.00

K2:
> one photo passport size or 2x2
> Photocopy of passport and visa
> Passport and visa
> Fee of PHP400.00

made me sick as well. UGH! so hate GOLD-DIGGERS! they should be always reminded that money don't grow in trees. Lol.
anyway, thanks for sharing this. i might go have the seminar on Monday. depends on my mood. lmao

PhilippinesGLOBE or SMART for ROAMING?
Ever since i am using GLOBE. The day before i left PI i bought a new globe sim, but i bought the OFW Sim pack. I am now using the OFW sim, it does have zero maintaining balance. So i can still receive text messages from my family and it will just cost them Php1.00. They just send me electronic load that is worth Php100.00 but i found the $10.00 Kababayan phone card that have 90minutes worth of calls and have 10 minutes free. Can be bought at any MoneyGram outlets. So they do not send me electronic load instead i just buy 2 or 3 Globe kababayan Phone cards to use every week. I use 2 phones, a Globe phone for PI calls/text and a Boost Mobile (nationwide unlimited everything- calls, text and web.. it also have walkie-talkie) and i only pay $50.00 a month. That includes tax. I tried Metro PCS for a few days but it has limited coverage area. So i go for Boost Mobile and i do not have problem with network connection

Hello, I have a few questions...

How much is the total expenses at St. Lukes for the Medical/Physical???

How much is the expenses for the application for the Interview...I was told you need to deposit this at BDO...

Please advise... thanks!

Hey ricobernarte!
The price for the medical examination is $213.35
and the Visa is $131.00

**The amount in PHP depends on the exchange rate the day you will pay for medical examination and visa fee.

You can pay at BDO any day BEFORE the scheduled date of your interview. You can pay at the embassy too but i advise to pay at BDO, so you could start immediately after you hand out the DS forms and get done before lunch. If you will pay at BDO they will validate either your DS-156 or DS-157. Oh, and make sure you have two copies of each DS forms.

Good luck! star_smile.gif
