They only received the package yesterday though By the way.. I see your in SD too!! Then we'll probably have the same place for Biometrics.. are you planning to try a walk-in? We'll probably have the biometrics at the USCIS Office in Chula Vista again. We'll probably avoid the walk-in and just wait for our appointment. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Noticed errors on 230 Part 1; Can I Make Changes?	While putting all of our forms together in preparation for our interview next week, I noticed that there was an error with one of our dates on the DS-230 Part 1, which we already sent to the Embassy. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January Filers at the CSC - How are you doing?	Great news!!! Valerie was approved on Tuesday for her green card! She should receive it in the mail within the next two weeks! So happy that it is all over.....at least for 2 years! Interview was quick and painless. Our interview was scheduled at 9:00 a.m., and we were called in at 9:15. Interview ended at 9:25! The adjudication officer just looked over our paperwork, asked where we met and when we began living together. He then asked for her EAD card and said that she was approved. He didn't ask for ANY type of evidence regarding our relationship. We had bank statements, phone bills, insurance policies...etc. But, he didn't ask for any of them! Unreal! After, Valerie said, "Don't you even want to look at our wedding photo album?" He smiled and said, "I guess I have a few minutes." Kinda amusing. But, for us, it was as easy as could be. I know some people have a little bit of a tougher time than we had, but for everyone preparing for your interview...just relax, be yourself, and don't work yourself up by worrying. If you're marriage is legit and you've done everything the right way from the beginning, you have nothing to worry about! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January Filers at the CSC - How are you doing?	What's up everyone?! Haven't posted for awhile, but we've been keeping tabs on all of our fellow January '08 CSC Filers. Valerie received her EAD on Friday, January 23rd. It took 84 days to receive, and we also had an RFE. It's crazy how timelines can differ so drastically depending on where you live. I thought that maybe ours would be among the last ones to go through since we live in San Diego, but she has it. Exciting! We also have our AOS interview on February 24th! Won't be long! Everything seemed like it was in order. We'll see. In other news, we filed for AOS and EAD. We received an RFE on the EAD due to an outdated form, and we also received an RFE on the AOS because I only submitted my W-2's. I guess they also needed my actual tax return. Val went a couple weeks ago for her SSN and we didn't have any problems here in San Diego. We went in at 9:00 and were out of the office by 9:30. Pretty painless. Haven't received it yet, but it should be here soon. And she was able to use her new name. We just took the marriage certificate, along with her I-94, and that was all we needed. It's crazy how each city seems to have different procedures. You'd think it would all be the same. Anyways- we also received our NOA 1's for the AOS and for the EAD (after a minor setback due to an expired form) so that's good. She has her biometrics appointment on Tuesday, and we'll be a step closer! Everything is moving so fast now compared to the K-1 process. So after waiting in the car an hour, we went inside and waited in line for 30 mins. Then we were called up to the desk and the guy was sooo mean! He was just a total ### and I could see Justin was ready to punch him. (But luckily didn't). We were told to sit back down and we saw the guy chatting and fooling around and NOT proccessing my paperwork! Well about an hour later he calls us up again. At that point his attitude had totally changed, he was sooo nice and overly apologetic...haha he must have opened the package and seen that Justin is a Supervisor with the Department of Homeland Security (same as this guys department, although Justin's job is different). Too funny...he was ready to kiss our feet! Anyway, he gave me the whole candid Hollywood "Welcome to the United States of America! " I was like whatever buddy, gimme back my passport so I can get to SD! We laughed. Getting ready for the wedding in 3 weeks now. Anyone...as far as the police certificates go, packet 3 states that the beneficiary needs a police certificate from anywhere they have resided for more than 6 months. But, on many other sites, including the Dept. of State, I see that it is 6 months within the beneficiary's country and over 1 year for any other country. So which is it for the K-1? I was born and raised in Iowa (Des Moines) and we used to go down to Kansas City every year. Have family down there. We received two seperate letters from the NVC stating that they have sent our file to the consulate in Vancouver. One is dated 7/11 and the other 7/14. Anyone else receive two letters? Probably nothing, as long as it has been sent! Also, when I spoke with the NVC last week they stated that they sent it out on the 9th. It's been 9 days. Is there any way to find out if our file has been received by the consulate in Vancouver without being too much of a nuisance? We're just eager to get Packet 3 and get it back to them ASAP. I've been moving this past week, beginning to get our new place in order before Valerie comes down. So I called NVC on Friday (7/11) and asked them if they had received our file yet, because I hadn't heard anything yet. They said that they had received it on Tuesday (7/8) and sent it out to Vancouver on Wednesday!! I coudn't believe it! Things are really moving fast now. Such a change of pace, and we couldn't be happier. I think typically it takes 2-3 business days to get there, so hopefully Vancouver will send it out sometime this week! That would be great. The sooner the better. We have our wedding planned and booked for October 3. Still 2 1/2 months out, but it'll feel a lot better once that visa is in hand! Any idea on how long it takes for an interview date after returning packet 3? Sunny, hang in there! Whenever I log onto VJ, your timeline is the first thing I look at. You started this whole process the same time as Valerie and I, and you were so supportive when we were just waiting and waiting! I'm sure it'll be very soon. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	I-864 Question	Good Evening, I have a quick question regarding question #25 on form I-864. I will be using a co-sponsor (my sister) who filed jointly with her husband. I will only be using the income of my sister and not my brother in law. Since they filed jointly, I will be including my sister's W-2 along with their joint tax transcript for the most recent tax year in order to show her annual income alone. Now, on question #25 it asks one to list their total income for the past 3 years. I can fill last years easily as it shows her individual income on her W-2.
