I keep asking for more hours (to cashier, work the sales floor, or anything), but still stuck at 10.5 a week... it's bad. Andy and I are already talking about moving so he more job opportunities when his EAD comes. We're also going to file a request for a fee waiver since we can't afford the $1010 and desperately need him to be able to work; thank goodness we have my father to joint sponsor. A lady here on VJ told me her fee waiver request was approved when she was barely covering her monthly expenses and told me the kinds of documentation she sent in. I know it's a chance, but I have a hard time believing I'd be denied in this economy with the documentation I can show (student loan debt, lease showing rent, utility bills, my sad Michaels paychecks, etc). Just a few more days and Andy will be here permanently. Most of the wedding arrangements are done now; I found a dress on Friday (for $150), ordered a cake, picked our ceremony music, etc. I think his jaw is going to drop when he sees me, because I've never worn anything like this dress before in my life. I just need to find an ivory veil with a ribbon edge. They wanted $69 for it at David's Bridal, which I knew is so overpriced. Michaels has one, but it is white! Meri, do you know if either of the consignment shops in Lewiston have bridal accessories? Getting close to that POE date and wedding day....you must be excited!! The GC is 2 years and you need to file to remove conditions 3 months prior to it expiring. I have almost finished 3 different resumes and basically eliminated 23 years of strong background because I am overly tired of being over qualified. I talked with a recruiter friend and she said people are deleting Master's degrees to get a "job" not even a "career". She said what I already knew, people look at my resume and run because they feel I would be making a temporary stop with them only until the next best thing comes. I think when Alexandra's EAD comes she may have a little better luck than I because she is bi-lingual. I know I would appear to be be lucky to have my loved one with me but, imagine my head right now knowing I filed her AOS and financial is a very important part of that. Here they wanted 250-300 dollars because they wouldn't do it without the physical,and I know all I needed for Alexandra was the the vaccines transcribed to the I693. The physical is not necessary if it has been done within a year. So take the vaccination records(DS3025), and I really cant think he will need anything else. I sent mine off to Texas to Dr. Arnold who did it for 30.00 and all I sent was the DS3025 and a couple of signed first pages of the I693 so they could fill out the forms and seal the envelope. I told him to ask to speak with a supervisor if he gets the same BS again. grrrr. maybe i'll have to take a half day next week to yell at people awesomeness! any advice on what we should do if he is refused again today? No advice except continue on trying. I made the mistake and did not get Alexandra her's in time and so many things want a SS# to add the person to various accounts etc... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	July '08 filers	I think it is cool you guys are already into your AOS...I am generally on top of these things but have been preparing for the wedding and such. We obviously waited awhile after she arrived to marry. I need to have my ducks in a row on the AOS stuff so immediately following the wedding I will have time to concentrate on this stuff. I was so ####### about my K1 paperwork and everything went so smoothly at the embassy they passed it through the window to me before we started the interview and never ask for anything additional that we brought. So I need to spend time on this and hope it goes as well. I saw an earlier post about info to take to the interview, and with reagards to tax returns I also brought three years. It would stink to not have enough info, if we brought all we had I figured there was nothing else to ask for. The other thing that appears to differ from embassy to embassy is if both parties need to be there. It is becoming more increasingly important in South America and they are sending some folks away telling them to come back when their SO can be there. One question for you that have already started processing your SS#...at this point if you aren't married you get a card that has red letters on it saying some thing to the effect of "only authorized to work". But when your name changes after your wedding you will have to file for another card...correct? Also, I have only glanced at the AOS requirements and it apppears to be a very similar process again, financial support and so on. I have 17 days until the wedding and only a couple more details like my Publix cake, and a couple of other little things. So i think it is time to at least start to compile info on the AOS. My least 3 years tax returns were excellent so I had no problem financially proving anything, but as I told you guys the end of January was the end of work for me so this may be a little tricky now. I am trying to pick up some subcontracting work and am still above their poverty guidlines and hoping it hangs through this process.....ugh!!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	July '08 filers	I hope I have all in order. A month and half has breezed by since I received the interview appointment. The interview is the 28th, it all seemed so far away and now I will be flying into Bogota in about 11 days staying 2 nights and flying home. Finances suck but in Colombia they like to look from behind the window and see the love struck couple interacting. If all goes well she could be here in the 2nd week of Feb. She needs to sell her belongings etc. as she waits for a courier, on burro, to deliver her visa. It is about a 8-10 hour bus trip one way so she arrives there the 24th for her lab and medical and to get a certificate of migration and there is only one bank which accepts money for the visa so she will have a busy, stressfull week but with light at the tunnels end. I saw Koakland reference the AOS paperwork and she is correct, nothing we all haven't encountered. The fee is high for AOS, another rapid save, difficult without job stability. I have gone this far and the process won't beat me. Everyone is at so many different phases in their journey it is hard to keep track.
