The park ontop of the escarpment?? ya fun for like 3 seconds ( "ooohhh look how the pollution just hangs over the city" "hey whats that weird smell?".... I lived in Hamilton for quite a while before i moved south. His comments about the roller coasters is not so accurate .. they are fun but there are much much better ones in the states it all really depends on what you like to do Niagara Falls will be interesting for a day but really depends on your interests as to what direction to go .. Hamilton does not have alot of any kind of entertainment so you'll either be heading towards Toronto or Niagara

You, warlord and deadpool can be the three anti-Canadian grumps.

My parents both immigrated to Hamilton from Europe and met there and got married there and my brother was born there. It's not as dumpy as you make it out to be.

Also, Wonderland is still pretty fun and you will enjoy it!

I didn't even comment yet ha ha.

Actually I haven't been to Niagra Falls since I was a kid so I can't really remember much about it to be honest. All I remember other then the falls and getting wet in some tunnel and on a boat was a bunch of touristy type things like Ripleys Believe it or Not museam and things like that (like you'd find on Hollywood Blvd). Probably changed now but this was back in the 70's since I was there last...

I left Hamilton in April .... come on seriously Mountain Brow park? like i said about 3 seconds it was a comment in reference to someone asking what there is to do when they come for a visit .. ya there is a layer of brown pollution over the city on warm days even on some clear winter days and drive on down by the beach at the water treatment plant and take a good "wiff" ya some parts are bad .. Hamilton is letting itself go a little sure there are some not too bad areas but for a tourist ..... there is not alot going on in hamilton at the moment theres been some good suggestions like the botanical gardens and maybe dundurn castle (and the OP here can say that's not a castle) but mountain brow park and the farmers market? and dunno why it quoted all these just wanted to grab the dumpy comment by treble

CanadaUSC crossing border into canada w/ misdemeanor drug charge
uh a temp. resident visa .. i didn't know there was one .. but regardless if all they are doing is coming for the wedding then it is not needed and would be a waste of time and money. And even if that was an option if a drug charge makes you inadmissable into Canada then will also make you inadmissable for a visa

CanadaQuestion for K-1 people
i went the K-1 route because i had no idea how difficult or how much they turned people down ... couldn't have imagined it if we gotten married and were refused ... the extra time to get my EAD and the green card is actually helpful to me .. gives me time to adjust to the different climate and to get to know the area and explore my new home. I can find and know where things are here better than my wife who has lived here most of her life hahaha

Always do things on the safe side ... sign everything ... they sent our whole application back to us because they thought one of the G-325A pages was a photo copy. I'm darn sure it wasnt but when we help up our copy and the one we sent we couldn't tell which one was copied or not.... so we redid it all in blue ink ...

Tip #2

Keep your patience in check .... the waiting is the hardest part and can wear on some people. and th wait for the K-1 for my wife and I was the hardest part we went thru so far ..the rest after was a breeze so far

CanadaIf You Become a USC, can you keep your Canadian Citizenship?
My parents can find their own way over here ... hahaha .. no seriously living in Florida everyone in my family keeps talking about visiting .. in the winter my father wants to come he says for thanksgiving and it started out as a few days then he said he wanted to be here for me for xmas .. then it was new years .. and then i have my mother ( parents divorced so would be here at different times) and then my sis and brother .. not to mention all the friends .. and you can sense when they talk they are thinking " woohooo no need to pay for a hotel" but hey thats a lil off topic ... back to topic

Yes can keep both and i am glad i plan on going for naturalization as soon as i am eligible .. i planned on getting married for life and as long as we are together i will be here it only makes sense to get it and not have to deal with immigration stuff anymore and what better way to show my total commitment to my wife .... plus the ease of traveling back and forth is a bonus

CanadaVaccination records?
Go to your family doctor and ask to have it done .. it's Covered under OHIP so no cost to you .. but call the panel physicians office first and ask what vaccinations you need cause you need to tell your doctor what you need to have checked and also tell them you will need a copy of the results.. the panel physician will not do it

and your welcome .. this site helped me out alot and since i believe in karma i feel i should do the same for others ..

CanadaVaccination records?
Can go to your doctor and have a blood titers test done ... <--am sure thats what it's called .. call the panel physician they will tell you what ones you need for your age group .. then just take that list to your family doctor and say you need to get a titers test to show you've had them .. if not you need to get them ... you will need to take the test results to your physical.

CanadaSSN Woes
My first time at the ssn office was a headache ... i too printed out all the pages and stuff saying K-1 was allowed a SSN number .. and if the people behid the counter want to do things their way .. they are gonna end up doing it their way .. i went back to a different office like a month later and applied (after we were married) and they put it thru no problems... the first place i went to also stated the "we need to manually check it" stuff and said " K-1 can get it for marriage if needed for license but you don't need it in this state to get your license" and that was after showing the paperwork i printed out to the person in charge ( at least they said they were) so i just said i will come back with my EAD. Who knows it could have went fast but really didn't feel like arguing to someone who will end up doing it their own way or maybe end up treating my stuff badly or in an untimely fashion cause i acted like an #### to get my way ...
goes with my 2 rules .. "don't mess with the people who handle your food or the people who handle your important paperwork"

Hope ya get it faster than they quoted you ..

The only way to explain it is like kids in the car when they see a mcdonalds sign ... its like oh mcdonalds can we go can we go can we go ... I've seen adults in canada who cannot drive past a tim hortons without stopping ...i've even seen adults yell at the kids and say "we don't need to stop at every mcdonalds just because we pass it " then 3 seconds later " oh a tim hortons lets stop and get a coffee"... pffftt ... I can say sure a little reminder of home .. but people in canada don't need a reminder of canada and thats where it starts ...

we used the certified copy from the courthouse .. we took the license in ourselves they gave us back the certificate and said thats all we will be getting so used that .. so far so good

Hummm... Ok, why would you need to register with the post office?

Oh you have to! I learned the hard way, I didn't know ahead of time and all my mail got turned back for about a month mad.gif It sucked so bad! In the US, it's not as easy as it is in Canada when you just tell your friends and family your new addy. Nope, if you don't register at the PO you're not, well, registered living there and won't get your mail.

What? Seriously? Argh that's frustrating! But... I've been getting mail at my fiance's house for months now. Not mail I want, but mail from wedding vendors and stores like bath and body works... Strange.

It is strange. Some things may get through, but it's best to register. Laura & Nick unfortunately did not know to do this also, and her SSN card got sent back which she didn't know about for months. Save yourself frustration by registering, so important documents like a SSN card, USCIS mail doesn't get turned back. It's too important!

I don't know how true that is for everyone !!!! I didn't do anything and i get all my mail .. i actually ran in the mailman here and he asked me if the mail was right with 3 different names coming to the same address .. i also asked him about registering names with the post office and he kinda looked at me strange and asked why i would need to do that!!! I may call the post office later to see if that is really needed here but so far no problems ...
