K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInterview Results

To the OP, you have been placed in Administrative Processing (AP) so the consulate can run some background checks on you (your file) !

Sit back and wait for a response from your consulate. Hopefully you should be fine.

Good luck

Dear What does OP means ?
I mean are there two types of Administrative Processes one on the Green Slip and the other on Blue Slip, I have not been mentioned to provide any further documentation and consular also said that everything is fine.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInterview Results
Dear All,
I had my interview today for K1 Fiance(e)today. Counselor was quite friendly, he had a very simple interview. But at the end he gave me a Blue Sheet of 212(g), moreover he said, everything is fine, all the documentation is perfectly alright and they don't anything more. On the sheet it was just written that Your case shall go through Administrative processing and no demand of further documentation was required. I just want to ask that is this okay, as Blue Sheet is usually used for the sake of demand of further documentation !

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsConfusion between Blue & Green Sheet
Dear Sir,
I had my K1 interview today. The interview was quite good, I had already taken all the financial documents and other documents as well. The consular gave quite a good response overall. At the end of the Interview he handed me over a Blue Sheet with 212(g) marked on it, which refers to Administrative Processing. The consular said they need no further documents, everything is perfectly fine and we shall contact you when we would get finish with it.
But my question is that Blue Sheet is oftentimes used for the requirement of some further documents etc, but there is no such requirement mentioned there on the Blue Sheet ( Only 212(g) is marked, AP), and even consular said we don't need anything. So why did the consular gave me the Blue Sheet for AP rather than Green Sheet mentioning 212(g).
Would you please assist me in this regard.

Hi brother, hope you would be fine. Moreover, congratulation for visa issuance.
I just needed to ask you that did you get the news of Visa Issuance from Department of State or by the embassy ?
Moreover, did you receive your passport yet or not, if not then what was the date when you first heard that your visa has been issued ?
And one last thing who actually told you that you shall be given your passport to you in one week ?
Please reply my questions in sequence. Awaiting eyes on your response.
Thank you so much brother !

Middle East and North AfricaAdjustment of Status Confusion !
Dear VJ Fellows,
I am ready to apply for Adjustment of Status after my K1 Entry out here in United States. So I have some confusions regarding the case, which are as following:

1. My fiancee is sponsoring me and filling I-864 for me to be submitted AOS. Moreover, my Father In Law is my Joint Sponsor for my case. So my Fiancee lives along with her parents (Father In Law) but she is above 21 and filling her separate Tax Returns and she has not been included in my Father In Laws household. She is independent tax payer. So in this case, which form shall I fill to attach my Father in Law's Sponsor. Either I-864 or I-864A ? I am bit confused with this issue.

2. Secondly, I didn't get any of the Vaccination Record and they didn't even vaccinated me, they simply said, you don't need it. Now when I needed DS-3025 for my I-693, I had nothing to show to the doctor. So doctor repeated whole of the medical exam again and vaccination done along with the chart. So I needed to ask that as my old medical has not been expired yet and I have repeated my Medical Exam again to fill I-693, so would it make any problem for me or would it be fine to submit the new medical there on I-693 along with Immunization chart ?

3. Is it neccessary to file I-131 (Advanced Parole) at the time of filling AOS ? I mean, I have just been here in United States and doesn't really Intent to leave but I might also leave in case of any emergency later on. So what date should I write in Part 3's 1st Textbox (Intended Departure Date and Duration). Should I enter any of the assumed date or would I have to leave exactly on that day ?

So all of these are the confusion, kindly help me up with them. It would be really helping for me. Thank you !

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSerious Problem to be resolved - Need help from all of you !

This post is on behalf of friend while filling CR1 for her wife from Pakistan. This post doesn't address to my case.

"I?m getting married in Pakistan over the summer and going to apply my wife for immigration through CR-1 (Spouse Visa).  This is going to be a first cousin marriage which is legal in the country of Pakistan.  However, Illinois my resident state Prohibits First Cousin marriages with exceptions:  1. Age 50 or over; or 2. Sterile.  And was wondering if this would get my spouse her visa denied.

Remember this is an arranged marriage between our parents; she is my mom?s elder brother daughter.  What are the solutions?  I?m a US. Citizen for last 20  years.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUrgent Information needed regarding call log ?

It should not matter as what phone you used to call, but an explanation may be needed :)

***Sigh of Relief***

Yes you can use it as proof of ongoing relationship. They will see the number to your fiancee is on there. Just explain that the phone is in your father's name is they ask you about it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUrgent Information needed regarding call log ?
I have made calls to my fiancee mostly from the residential land line number here at my home. But that number is registered with the name of my father.
Now can I present that call log along with me as an ongoing relationship to embassy ? That is the same number I have given in different forms submitted yet for the of purpose of contacting me !

Hi there, I used to encounter that part. Check this link out. This can help. Good luck.

I tick the check box "I INTEND TO" and additional explanation can be added that Necessary Expenditures including room and board shall be provided and Petitioner shall marry with Beneficiary within 90 days of Arrival.

Dear Muniza,
Here is the revised link to Electronic Served DS 156 form,

https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

Once you fill the whole form carefully, simply click there at the "Continue" button, printer shall print out the BARCODE Page, you don't need to worry about this.
That shall definitely be printed out. I have checked it again.
Moreover, your fiance wouldn't pay the fee along with Packet 3.5, he would have to submit at the instant of interview session. He shall simply need to 1500 PKR to American Express for sending his Packet 3.5.
Good Luck !

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPort of Entry !
Dear Vj'rs,
I got my K1 Fiance Visa issued recently and now I have to move to US most probably in December. My fiancee's living and permanent address are both in Michigan (Which I mentioned at the time of Application), but due to some ticket issues problem I would have to enter in US through Chicago. So can my POE be Chicago rather than Michigan ?
Secondly, what are the things I would require to present apart from that closed envelope provided by embassy at the time of POE ?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 - Adjustment of Status (Medical Exam - I 693)
I am bit confused regarding this I-693 (Medical Exam & Immunizations) . Actually, I had my medical exam done but don't have any record of immunization. I have called some of the doctors but they say, they do the whole medical exam and vaccination if needed, but they don't offer immunizations only. So if I get my whole medical exam done again, then would it be acceptable ? I guess USCIS shouldn't have any problem with the whole medical exam done again along with immunizations, in-fact they must be happy with it. :D

I am not sure if the same rule applies in Texas.  You could check his website, and send his office an email.

Hi Murf an Reggie,

Yes you are right about two things , we must stay positive and yes we are common people accepting crumbs from the great white table...

We have no choice but to remain hopeful and patient yet it helps to vent a little as well.

Just so frustrating that it appears Govt say one thing and do another. Another part of me feels sure they (Govt) wll not be wanting to give up all that extra revenue either so maybe its just a way for Homeland Security to catch up on obviously a back log.

Stay strong guys-  one day this will all be behind us!

Common people we all ready accepted a longer wait time when we started this process now since the GOV is partially shutdown we have a lil bit more of that. Don't get me wrong I wish for all of us to fly thru the process but there is nothing we can do so far. I am too sitting here missing hubby like crazy and wish I could be home soon but I have to remind me every time that if I am getting more and more upset about this situation it will not help us and my personal well being. I really hope the shutdown is not taking to long but who knows. The is a reason behind of all of this and somehow it has been working out (this year been great for us so far) and I am not willing to let the bad thinking upset me so much think positive I really know it is hard for each of you and your individual situation, but keep up hopeing it will benefit u in the end

Not a dumb question at all.  I asked the same one a few weeks ago on here!  That is your NOA1.  Then you will receive a NOA2 when they approve your petition.  You can expect a week or so before the actual notice arrives at the house (if you are in the US, or longer if you're in NZ.)  Congrats on your NOA1!

Hi Jenmatt,

So cool to read your response! thank you.dancin5hr.gif

Hi all ,

Ok dumb question.

Does NOA stand for Notice of  Acceptance, because if it odes we recieved an email from USCIC notifying us of this..copied part of email

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number

Email does have Receipt incuded, but when I tried to log inot USCIS ,my anti virus programme threw a fit ,which has never happened before( warning of fraudlent site ,etc).Maybe my old computer is sick of this whole business too -haha. Its the same url I have always used ,so I suspect its my PC.

Just that I have seen people mention something about recieving a hard copy, and was curious what that might be.

So hard being apart isnt it , just frustrating.time zones ,emotionally draining. I stay cheerful and positive for my hubby but it get so sad......

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow Much Did It Cost You?

Wow!  (wished  I had known about this site many moons ago)

Hello everyone ,Im new here, I posted somewhere else and they kindly put in the url for here. I just got done reading the costs involved along with some very witty comments...the pursuit of life and happiness comes at a price everywhere huh..

My hubby is American ,I am the Kiwi and we have begun our journey all ####### about ( to put it bluntly)...only God knows if we can afford all the fees and other costs involved now ,but we will give it our best shot.

We married in NZ 2008, after a long engagement, then we travelled to the states ,then I came back to NZ for family reasons, while my husband remained in the states. Now I/he/we must begin the paper war. Acutally we did try stateside, but one document was not right or incomplete ,then unemployment hit. bottom line ,no money left.  That was 3yrs ago we were gutted as it took time and the cost of a U.S medical ($300) which was returned unopened anyway..grrr...

Today in the U.S my husband lodged a 1-130. (for me)

Ahh what was the world like before Immigration policies I ponder reading.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTimeframe After Visa Approval

Once a visa has been granted, after the interview process and everything, is there a certain timeframe the beneficiary needs to be in the US? The reason I am asking is because I was thinking of booking a flight to go see my husband, as the visa is taking longer than expected. We are still waiting on them to process the revised I-864. I am concerned that he may be granted a visa just before I get there or while I am there. Do they give you a few months or do you come whenever you are ready? Thanks!
