Just put them together... When I went to my interview, we put all the papers in a blinder, very organized, but when I got there they made me to take off, gave me a list to put everything in order again... that happened with everybody there... I think it's easier for them...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAbout Original Documents
Hummm, maybe someone from Egypt here in the forum would know better?

I can't tell you 100% sure, but I think it doesn't matter if it's different from what you sent to USCIS, specially because they accept copies and NVC wants the original which is the most important one. But I think it doesn't matter if it's different, as long as it is original. I also think it doesn't matter if it's a different certified translator, because that really can chance.

Your best option in my opinion, would be try to get the original from your husband, and have him get another copy. By the time you are on NVC phase just call them and ask what you should do about it.
Or maybe someone here from egypt knows what you should do more specifically. smile.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAbout Original Documents
I think you should just get another copy of your marriage certificate.
NVC accepts originals and certificate copies. And to get a certificate copy you guys have to go to the place that issued your first marriage certificate and request another copy of it. That's how most people do, I did because I didnt want to send my original.

If you send the paper you have and IF they do accept it, maybe you will still need to bring the original with you by the time of the interview, if they dont require the original at NVC stage they will for sure at the interview.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNot taking the HPV Vaccine
Thank you for all your answers.

So I called the consulate now, and the lady told me they trust what the doctor thinks is good for me, then I asked if I'd having any problem getting the visa if I don't have the HPV vaccine, and she totally said NO, I would not have any problems getting the visa. She even laughed a little bit and said the consul wouldn't deny me a visa because I don't have the vaccine.

So I guess I'm not gonna take it. smile.gif

What I think it happens is this...in the medical report they don't mention which vaccines I've taken or not, they just mention if I'm ok and it's all good with me. I'm guessing.
Of course that can change depending on different consulates. I just wanted to let you know that I'm not taking the vaccine smile.gif

I understand the fact 2 Doctors told you you don't need it. Civil surgeons generally aren't very up to date on constantly changing immigration policies- they don't care if you get your visa or not. All they care about is getting you in and out as fact as possible and the wad of cash you are giving them.

In this case- do you trust the Doctor or USCIS Immigration policy?

Very good point, I think I'm gonna call the consulate first, because I searched online and I saw they have been trying to make that vaccine not mandatory. Maybe they've changed?? I'm hoping.

Oh well, if I have to pay I will pay, that opened my eyes.

Problem getting Visa, Maybe, but if the consulate appointed doctor at the visa medical signs off on the vaccinations, you should have no problem getting visa.

As long as you have a visa the POE WILL NOT give you any problem about vaccinations.

That's true, I think I will ask the doctor when I'm having my medicals if I'd have any problem getting a visa for not taking that vaccine.
Let's say I don't take it, and the consulate asks about it, I could always say the doctor I had the medicals with told me I wouldn't have problems if I didn't take it right?

Well, I still don't know what to do, I'm having my medical next tuesday and I might call the consulate as well and see what they have to say about it.
I'm really tempted in not taking it though, thank you for all your answers. smile.gif

The HPV vaccine is a required vaccination for your age group. It doesn't matter what 'a few doctors' say, it matters what the civil surgeon says who conducts your medical. If he/she says it is required, then it is required.

Good luck

My doctor did say I didn't have to take it because wouldn't be effective in me, but that was not the case, the doctor in question was the official one, the one that is in the consulate list of official doctors. Not only one, but two of them that I called.
They were like "I recommend you to take it, but if you are short on money no you don't have to"

Ok, so I am 25 and according to CDC I'd have to take the HPV vaccine.
When I called a few doctors here in Brazil they said I'm not obligated to do it, they recommend but said "if you can't afford it now, you don't have to". Which is pretty tempting, since I'm spending soooo soooo much with this whole process. and that vaccine costs about $200 here.

Do you think I'd have any problems getting my visa or problems at POE if I don't have that vaccine?
Thanks for all the support. smile.gif

we all were in the same situation a month ago, if you want to see how long it usually takes for each step in NVC just read people's timeline, those ones on that topic are pretty recent and you will get a good idea of how much time we had to wait. You can always look at mine too.

This is good, actually way too good. You wont need 80% of those documents.
I know it's good to be prepared but some of these documents you really don't have to take cause they will have it. Specially all the USCIS forms, dont take them, its way too much. They would never ask them plus they also get all USCIS forms previously sent. I know you get really nervous and you want to be prepared, but some of these are just unnecessary.

qixbr,
I finally found a solution if I run into this issue and thought to share it with you. I am total dummy when it comes to taxes, never done it myself. I was stressed after reading about sattva's experience. I finally found out that if you e-file tax extension, you can get confirmation from IRS within a day. Here is the link to it:

http://www.filingtax...-extension.html

I had another nightmare to deal with today. Our accountant had done zippo on filing my extension. This added to my stress. First thing I am going to do tomorrow is walk into the H&R block, find out their availability/fee, etc, and then take my W2s, 1099s from my old accountant and hand them to H&R Block if they can fit me in. Not to forget, I also found out I possibly made a mistake on my I-864 that can mean an RFE. This has been an absolutely disastrous day for me. I really need a new day tomorrow with some positive news.

Good night everyone and hear from you all tomorrow!

Hi champi, I just saw your post now, thanks for sharing this. I also don't know anything about taxes, my husband did all the I-864 alone. tongue.gif But I really think you might get accepted before day 15, it seems they go a lot faster when they have both AOS and DS230 in hands.

On other news we got that "false RFE email" today, the one saying they received our AOS packet and now are waiting for the DS 230. Does that mean that they accepted the I-864 without any RFEs?
I hope so.

This is what it says:

"The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support form (I-864) for this case. However, we are still waiting for the Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). "

Thanks guyz. The lady I talked to was so rude, if I had talked to her one more time, she would have made me cry for sure. I tried to tell her that I've sent all my paystubs from last 6 months and employee later fro 2008, wouldn't that be sufficient and prove. But even without listening to me properly, she kept uttering just one thing "Ma'am, we'll be requiring 2008 taxes for cases that are in review after April 15. It takes2 to 4 weeks. blah blah blah". I guess it's not her fault either, that's what they were probably told to say so.

Meanwhile, I need to find out what my accountant is upto and see how fast I can get tax extension out of door. Better be prepared. But I really do hope we're out of it by 15th. That's only 5 business days from today.... mann!!

champi, I think your case will be completed before that. But it's good to be prepared. I've been having some luck with the operator I talk to, they are always so nice, but I make my American husband do most of the calls, he speaks better and I really don't like to deal with some rude people.

Hi all,

Going to an interview in Rio in a few weeks for our K1.

My fiance has a 5 year old daughter and is divorced from the daughter's father. We have the father's permission to travel to the US for 7 months. The US consulate in Rio has explicitly told us they don't care about the permission to travel, and that that is just between us, him, Brazilian law, and Brazilian airport authorities.

So, can my fiance sign all her daughter's documents? Does she need permission from father or anything to sign the document? Anybody see any problems here?

Hello,
I have the same question...the only difference is that my dughter is 18 and according to the Brazilian law she is not a minor anymore therefore she can travel without her father's persmission.

What I read on a chat a while ago with the american consul in Rio is that the responsability is related to the Brazilains authoroties:(part is written in Portuguese)
