IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April 2013 I-130 Filers	Its unfortunate there are still april filers waiting. We are in NVC since December 20 and aren't case complete yet. So plan for another 4 months for your case from uscis to nvc and to be transferred to embassy and interview. Sucks waiting. Our interview date is may 8. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April 2013 I-130 Filers	I just wanted to ask people here if they received any email/txt update from USCIS a week after receiving the actual physical letter of transfer to any of the service centers. I received two email one on 25th and then on 26th Nov that my case is being transferred. It was not until 28th or 29th when I actually saw the letter in mail that my case was transferred to CSV. After that on 2nd December I got following update via txt/email:   ************************************** Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN Your Case Status: Initial Review The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.   *****************************************   ?Does this mean that someone is actually working in my files/cases or is this one of those generic email? I called and being expedited due to typhoon last wednesday and still waiting. Ive read others are getting approved fast. New Filipino beneficiaries are being approved fast less than 2weeks. You can check current case processing times to get an idea of how long your case should take. If your case has a receipt number, you can check the status. We offer 4 kinds of appointments for a case that you have already filed. Please choose from the following - Order from Immigration Court - If you were directed to us for processing based on an order from the Immigration Judge. You must bring all documents required in the post order instructions given to you by the court.  Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing. EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.  Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.  Which one of the above is my reason if I just want to know where is my file? Im gonna prepare it tomorrow and hope to have it in the mail Saturday. Most of my previous forms like the g320 are filled out from my I130. I just need to xerox prroof of marriage etc. And I have extra passport pics. I was surprised that I wasnt put on hold and it took me maybe 5 minutes to reach an operator. However, the operator pretty much read through his PC and said that my file was still awaiting processing. Once it is processed they will inform me. He couldnt say how long I need to wait and I said maybe another year waiting??? And he said he doesnt know. I said ok thanks. Maybe we will hear something this year. That just sucks to hear fiancee apps get processed so much quicker. Im currently in the Philippines with my wife and spent a month together and leaving tonight ((. It sucks bigtime. I kinda give up and my plan B is to move to her country as it was my birthcountry also. These beaurocrats are really slow. I dont think being from columbia makes a difference. The USA handles the petition here and not any other country. Even if other people dont update their timelines 100 days are still the average. I received an email and NOA in the mail and online it says our case is in initial review. Is that the NOA-1 approved that ppl talk about?? Or am I waiting for the status online to say approved and then that means I have NOA-1 approval? Sorry new to this and trying to learn all these terms and abbreviations Hi, I believe once your check clears and sent a NOA1 it basically means the petition is accepted. This is good and its now under the initial review and we just wait and hope its fast. I have an April 1 date and my file says initial review also. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April 2013 I-130 Filers	So my husband went along to the Johannesburg USCIS field office at the South African embassy to submit his petition yesterday and our long wait began. Fortunately he lives here, so we will go through the wait together. Interestingly, the official that received his submission gave him a mini on the spot interview - questions about how we met, when we got engaged, where we got married, why we got married in the US and not here, how many times we saw each/visited other before we got married (as he leafed through his and my passport) what he does for a living, what I do for a living, how long he has lived here, why he lives, why he now wants to go back to the US etc. I should think that after that grilling, they can may as well skip my interview altogether as I think they have all the information they need! The official also handed back a few pieces of evidence that we had included as part of our packet. I had pulled the supporting documents together for submission as guided by VJ, and I guess the he felt that he had more than enough evidence and retained what he needed. All in all, thank you VJ for the extremely useful tips and discussions found on this fantastic website. Anyway good luck to us all April people! God Bless us all. PS - I'm sorry if you see this post somewhere else under the IR-1/CR-1 case filing and progress reports forum...I posted it in the wrong section the first time I tried...newbie blues...so embarrassed. Congrats and what a story lol. Seems you added too much supporting docs . Whoever reads my support docs hopefully would feel the same. You are a DCF so you should have a much faster turnaround. We decided to get married while he was visiting Chicago in March, and filed after he went back to Germany. Because we have plenty of Facebook/email documentation of our 1.5-year relationship, and no prior marriages/children, and we got married in the US, I'm hoping we won't have to deal with too many RFEs - I did submit a joint bank statement along with the initial filing just in case. But we're doing all of this without a lawyer so our money can go towards the fees and saving up for a family wedding, so I'm hoping we got all the info right! I know what you mean. I reread my petition docs (130 & g329) form numerous times to look for errors and anything missing. So Im sure that should be bulletproof. All the supporting documents are there too and then some like pictures of us, plane tickets traveling together etc. At least your husband is a German citizen and he can travel here to visit. Not all nationalities have that privilege . So I have to wait to get back to my wife until the petiton is sent to Manila. Husband is in Germany, and we're crossing our fingers that maybe we'll luck out and have him here by the end of 2013. Anyone know anything about the average time between NOA1 and NOA2? Most of the timeline stuff I can find is once your application has been transferred to the NVC (that is after the NOA2). But it seems like the time between NOA1 and NOA2 is really variable. Good luck to all! Yes it does vary. You also have to consider if there are anything missing from your documents then you will recieve RFE. That will lengthen the process.
