Now, about your NOA-1, I would say you're overdue
to receive the hardcopy. The good thing is that they
did cash your check.

You should see WAC on the back followed by hard to
see numbers. Try changing the very last number to the
next highest digit.

That's what happened wth our case. The check cashed had
a "1" on the back, but the NOA-1 hardcopy was registered
with a "2". Sure enough, when I checked online with the 2,
our case showed up in the system.

if you see a notice date by
changing the last case number
then more than likely that's your
NOA-1 date.

what happened in our case was
that they cashed the check, but
the WAC number on the back of
it ended with "1", but our physical
NOA-1 letter ended with "2".

sounds confusing, but it's a good
sign that they at least cashed the
funding.

We're monitoring I-130s (CR-1/IR-1) spousal/relative filings
for March 2008. It's an offshoot of the larger spreadsheet
that Delicia has going as noted by Kalbo above.

The sheet we started is easier to track as it pertains
solely to those who've filed in March 2008 and only
if they CR-1/IR-1 filers. The K3 is a horse of a different color.
You can check our timelines out here.

BTW, you should've received your NOA-1 by now, especially
since they've cashed your check. Have you tried the I30 case
number trick on the back of the check yet?

Yes, it can be very difficult to read however. There will be a WAC (for CSC) or EAC (for Vermont) number printed on the back of your cancelled check. The number will be like WAC-08-XXXXXXX. For some people, they still won't see their cases online for a couple weeks after receiving their NOA-1 as well.

i might add, that the WAC number on the back of the cashed check was different
by one digit from the actual NOA-1 letter. (I happened to come home from work
and find it in the mail the same day I found the check image.) The receipt number
on the image ends in "1" while the actual NOA-1 letter ends in "2". Once I entered
it online it showed in the CRIS system completely updated.

No. There is no case number in USCIS receipt. It is called receipt number. NVC assigns case number, once the case forwards to NVC from USCIS after the approval. One wil need USCIS receipt number from initial notice, I-797C in order to register with USCIS website to see automatic updates in the USCIS website and even to get email notification from USCIS (in case of RFE, approvals, etc).

Yes, it is the correct case number. Sometimes USCIS is delayed in entering the case number into the online system. It was 2 months before we could check my hubby's AOS, EAD, & AP. During the K1 process his case # was immediately available online. Hope it doesn't take you too long to get in the system.

I just went through this yesterday. The check image numbers were correct except for the
last digit. What do I mean? The image read "XXXX1" whereas the actual physical NOA-1
read, "XXXX2".
When I put the check image number in, nothing appeared. However the mailed out NOA-1
entered yielded our case. Don't know if we're an isolated case but I just wanted to put it
out there.
