National Visa Center (Dept of State)	shipped to Department of State	I read and see that people get their 'case number'...  our visa app is approved and sent to the Department of State. We have patiently waited and waited....   is there any advantage to having your case number, will it expedite the process????   any info is appreciated.. it is spouse visa from Philippines...   In the notice that you recieved it says that they shipped it to the Department of State and that you have to give them 30 days to reply before inquiring them. I called the NVC number last night 603-334-0700 , i waited for about 10 mins on the phone, and gave them my USCIS number, the lady told me, my case was rec'vd and in the building on 12/20, in 10 to 20 business days i should get my NVC case number, you should call and find out, because i know i read on the forum, people's case was shipped out but never rec'vd. so just to be safe give them a call.   Good for you!my husband called them and the guy said we're not in the system yet!I hope my case is also in the building just like yours ;( . Yes, the last thing i read on the USCIS is Post Decision Activity On December 9, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. My NOA2 says it has been shipped, to NVC in New Hampshire. I had read online somewhere, people were trying to confirm it was actually shipped. I wanted to know if you had confirmation or something, that it was shipped, besides the NOA2 saying it was.   The letter also says give them 30 days to reply before inquiring them but my husband will call them today even though it"s been 14 days.Just like you i don't have a confirmation that they recieved my petition nor do i have an NVC case number. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-130 got approved!	congratulations =) how did you know it was shipped on 12/22 ? i got approved 12/9 but i dont know when it was shipped etc..   NOA2 is a notice notifying you that the petition is approved and has been shipped to the Department of State.It should be on the letter that you recieved your hard copy of NOA2.I don't see why it's not shipped to the Department of State because that's the next step after you got approved. We got approved on Dec. 12,2013 and the case has been shipped to NVC on the 16th.We called the NVC Dec. 30 but the rep. said we're not on their system yet,so we called again Jan. 2 but their closed due to the inclement weather.We're gonna call them today and hopefully we get our case number and start the NVC process! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	CONCURRENT FILING FORM I-485 ALONG WITH AN APPROVED FORM I-130 PETITION	Ok, so you're not adjusting status, you're waiting for NVC side of immigrant visa processing.   You will be doing Removing of Conditions (I-751) - it's not tied to your marriage anniversary but the date you enter into the US - resident since date on your 2-yr green card. Once i get to USA, I know that filing  I-751 (petition to remove conditions during the 90 days before my conditional residence expires) is the next step. I was just reading around the USCIS website and came upon this "adjustment of status" subject using form I-485. Specifically this link  http://www.uscis.gov...tive-us-citizen . My husband and I are new to this process and are just trying to educate ourselves on the subject thus my original post. Just posing some questions out there for my own education on this whole exciting and sometimes frustrating "Visa Journey" experience. Ohhh the waiting....is the hardest part. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	CONCURRENT FILING FORM I-485 ALONG WITH AN APPROVED FORM I-130 PETITION	Your casefile hit the door (tomorrow?) at NVC.   What do you want to do?     I just wanna make sure if it's possible to file a form I-485 along with an approved I-130 petition.Meaning you don't have to wait  90 days before your 2nd wedding anniversary to file for form I-485. However, its a goverment baranch afterall, so who knows. Its definitely not 10 days, but somewhere around 20-25 business days. Moreover, we lost one business day to MLK and probably one to bad weather in up North.   NVC recieved our case Jan. 08 and still waiting for the case number.I called NVC last night and the rep. told me to wait a week or so!ughh....! He advised me to go to Capitol nbi main office. Before getting NBI we need to ask for an appointment first. They will schedule us. This is just so frustrating! Ugh.   I'm gonna go to Capitol NBI Main Office on Monday and ask for an appointment hopefully they won't schedule me on March because it's gonna be frustrating.I will let you know next week. . If your case was initiated after October 4, 2010 and your case number begins with AMM, ATH, BGH, LMA, MEP, or MTL you must submit your visa application form online. Otherwise you must submit the paper version of the form." My case number starts with MNL, and before i got this email i knew for sure that i should do ds260. However after reading it, i got a bit confused. Just wanna clarify and be 200% sure on what form i need to submit. Ds260 or ds230?
