United KingdomRecent changes to the US Embassy London

Call the london embassy tomorrow if you have not heard anything, and ask them if it has been passed on to the courier yet. They should be able to tell you this, as you have been waiting for quite some time. Also you need to know if it is in the courier`s hands. Try and call during your lunch hour under the  `visa case status update` option so that you can speak to someone directly.

United KingdomLondon 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread

yeah press continue, let it do its thing... it can take a while sometimes, then once it has stuck a barcode on the form you can print it out. like has been mentioned by Nich-Nick... it is probably wise to print off an extra copy of all the forms and take them to the interview just in case the embassy misplace one :)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Entering the US on a tourist visa if K1 approved awaiting interview

I traveled to the US December 01, 2012. My K1 was not approved until many weeks after i returned to the UK.

I dont think it will make any difference if you have been approved (had your NOA2). When i entered the US, i entered on the Visa Waiver Program, (You are eligible to apply for this - as you are from Australia, so you can get travel authorization here if you havent already done so. You can do it online here:https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/ ) You can log into your details after you have done this, and write your ESTA number down incase you need it at port of entry, but they should have that info automatically when they scan your passport at port of entry. I showed the immigration officer my NOA1 and my return e-ticket. I travelled with our baby, who of course has a UK and US passport, so that was good proof that i intended returning to the UK after my visit. I think it is a good idea to show the immigration officer your NOA1/ NOA2, as it proves that you are going to be attending the Embassy interview in your home country so you would of course intend on returning. And proof that you are doing things legally. They were very pleased that we were doing things the right way. Plus your return ticket shows that you already have your return flight booked, so it should not be a problem. You could also take proof of address in your home country, as this would show you have a residential address that you intend to return to at this stage.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPaying for visa at London embassy

I know messages on this topic were posted quite a while ago.

For people reading this topic now, please note that at the London Embassy:

You are requested to pay for the visa before the interview. You are directed to do this when you receive packet 4 (on the letter with interview appointment).

The current fee is $240. You cannot pay the fee online. You must call the London Embassy to pay it. When you phone, make sure you have your k-1 receipt number ready, a credit/ debit card for paying, and your passport number. They will send you a receipt to your email for paying this fee. Print a copy of the receipt out and sign it on the line where required. Make sure you take this printed receipt with you to your interview. It has a barcode on it and they will need to see it for proof of payment.

The only other fee you need to pay on the day of the interview is the courier service fee for delivery of the visa. This is around 14-15 british pounds. It can be payed by debit or credit card on the day of the interview.

Good luck to you all!

CanadaDid anyone else have any problems with this? Just cant seem to get through to RCMP about tracking my criminal record check application.

I have already posted this message on my last thread, but i am so stressed i am posting it again:

After already contacting RCMP and giving them this information 3 times  - twice by email, and once over the phone on their automated answerphone, today i received an email from the RCMP saying the following:

Good day

Please provide your date of birth, complete mailing address along with the proper spelling of your name in order to continue searching within our systems for your application.

CFSS processes more than 15,000 criminal record searches each month. The processing times for applications will vary depending on whether or not an individuals fingerprints can be associated to a criminal holding maintained by the RCMP. For those that are associated and or a manual review must take place, the process can take in excess of one hundred and twenty (120) days. For those that are not associated the processing time is significantly less. For further information on processing times please visit our website.

http://www.rcmp-grc....g-empr2-eng.htm

Thank you for contacting us

So once again i will send them the information i have already sent them 3 times in order to track my application! This is just getting stupid now!

I have already been waiting for confirmation for over a month. And how many times do they need me to submit my full name, date of birth and address in order to track it? wacko.png  I even gave them my email address and date it was submitted. What more do they need?! And all 3 times i used the "proper spelling"! wow.gif

I just phoned them, but it was automated answer machine. So i left a message asking if they had received it, with my name and date of birth, plus my email address. I didnt leave my telephone number as i am outside of Canada. I am sure they already have my telephone number and email address on the application i sent. Hopefully they will get back to me soon!!

CanadaDo the RCMP email any confirmation they received application for police clearance?

I mailed out my application for my Canadian police clearance to the relevant  RCMP address back in the beginning of April.

I know it takes 18 weeks to complete, but do they contact me to let me know they received it in the mail? as i posted it from the United Kingdom, and it did contain a cheque for the required fee.

Any thought on this? I hope they received it, as i have already been waiting for 9 weeks. Just not sure if they usually send out an email of confirmation they received it.

I did check their website, but they do not give any information on this, only that it takes 18 weeks to complete. However when sending something internationally that takes a long time, it would be appreciated to know that it has been received, as  if i have to submit it over again, i am going to be set back by another 10 weeks! as its going to take at least a week to get it in the mail. ClockWatch2.gif

I am just really nervous about this, and i am not sure who to contact to find out if they received it. unsure.png

Did they say why 120 days? that seems like a long time to wait for a NOA2 if you have already been waiting almost 9 months.

 we're 6 months now and we did our first time service request but it says "Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time"

So,the normal parameters of processing would be 6mons. to a year?

We are about 7 months. I tried a service request by email yesterday and it tells me exactly the same. I am guessing maybe between 8-9 months to try the service request. (hopefully you will hear something before then though too! )

I went over for a visit to U.S.A December 01 2012 with our son. It was the 1st time he saw his little boy, as he couldnt be here in my country when he was born because of work. Our son was 10 months old by the time we were able to make it over for a visit financially. I went over on my U.K. passport, and our son has a U.S. passport because he is a U.S. citizen. it went ok at port of entry, as i had a return ticket.
I am just glad we got to spend Christmas ans our son`s 1st birthday all together though. Its harder for him being apart again, because he bonded so much with our son. Hoping the wait will not be more than afew weeks now before we hear about the NOA2.

We filed september 13, 2012. So its been about 7 months now since we received the NOA1. Would be nice if they updated things more often on the website, as it would help a lot when having to plan a wedding. Its no good leaving it until 90 days before the wedding.. especially booking in the summertime, as everyone books around then and it will be hard to set a date in 90 days of arriving! Will be tough trying to find a wedding venue!Would have been nice if they gave 6 months instead of 3 months to get married. 3 months is cutting it a bit fine!!

I am finding it really stressful. I am having to be mom and dad to our little boy at the moment. It was lovely when we went to visit the U.S. for just under 90 days back in December. Our little boy was able to be with his dad and we were together as a family.. just long enough to get settled. It was lovely to have help with baby, and less stressful. then i have to separate fro my fiance and baby has to say goodbye to daddy. I hate this waiting and waiting. I really hope this NOA2 does not take a year or more. I never thought i would be bringing our son up on my own for at least a year waiting for just a decision to the next step! Its our little boy thats suffering the most with this. Thats what annoys me. It hurts when he cried for his dad... and he is already a U.S. citizen. I feel terrible for my fiance that he cant hold our baby boy, or see his skills developing. So sad that he is missing out on such an importaint part of our son growing! :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApproved!!! 6th August
This is good news. Hopefully they are processing early filers now!.. so hopefully more July, August and September filers approvals on the way very soon!! I am a 14 Setember filer and i am thinking about another visit to the USA. i hate being apart from my fiance.. and worst of all i hate our little boy not being able to dsee his daddy :( I wouldnt mind this waiting if we were given a month for sure that our case would be worked on.. as i dont know if i have time to visit in the US for 90 days before approval. Not giving us a time frame is forcing us as a familyto remain apart for long periods of time. This could be avoided if they gave us a set back time scale.

We didnt contact a congressman/ senator or request expedite, so things must be really moving at CSC now. For those of you still waiting, i suggest you keep checking your status update and email. You are more likely to see it on your email first if you are like me and check your email every morning.
Hope you all get your approvals ASAP.. especially those of you in July/ Aug/ Sept that are still waiting. However, i am positive it will be VERY soon for those of you waiting. Things are moving very fast now.. i even checked case numbers close to mine and more of those are moving along now too. Hang in there everyone.. you are almost there!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSupport thread for parents & children waiting for k-1

i saw this thread and thought id give you guys a reason to be thankful about your own frustrations not being bad as mine.

i am the filipina fiancee and have two kids from a previous marriage that will come with me once the visas are approved. We have been waiting for our NOA2 since it was sent in july 26, 2012. (Actually, the kids have been waiting longer than that as my US fiance and i have been in a long distance relationship for 8 years now.)

However,i think the frustration of having to wait this long took its toll on my eldest (almost 19 yrs old). She decided to leave home (probably thought she can make it on her own and decided to be the boss of herself) and i dont know where she is at now. Now, i am not even sure she would turn up when the USCIS-CSC finally releases our NOA2.

Oh well, that is me venting...just when i thought i reared her right, she would do this...just when we are so close to being with her soon to be stepdad ( they are close and she adores him as a dad).

anyways, probably this isnt so bad for some, maybe i am just being too dramatic. but i cant help but wonder that if the noa2 had come sooner, we didnt have to deal with this at all.

i just hope we all get our answers to our long overdue petition cases soon before anything else bad happens.

If your daughter finds its not as easy as she thought it would be on her own, maybe she will decide to come home. Hope things get better for you soon.

And keep each other up to date with how we are doing with the process.
Also. i thought i would share this information with you all.. if you have not already seen it on the USCIS website, under their latest updates:

USCIS Revises Public Hours of National Customer Service Center

The USCIS National Customer Service Center (NCSC) is introducing new public hours of operation for our toll-free number at 800-375-5283. Effective immediately, USCIS will eliminate Saturday hours of operation. Beginning April 1, the NCSC will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, in all four time zones in the contiguous United States. This adjustment will allow USCIS to better serve customers during peak contact hours and respond more quickly to customer needs.

As always, customers can check the status of their case, change their address, or submit an e-request 24 hours a day by visiting www.uscis.gov. In the coming months, USCIS plans to launch a number of additional customer service enhancements to further improve the quality of our customer service.

 What are your thoughts on this???

I agree, I found it very helpful talking with people here. I was going positively insane but seeing others in the same boat makes it a little easier. I honestly thought there was no one else facing this. The support is definitely very welcomed and took a bit of the stress off my mind.

Thank you everyone for sharing and I'll pray it all goes smoothly for all of us.

As a Navy vet I'm all for expidite active duty about to deploy, the rest in most cases can wait. And I know how hard it is to wait... 235 days so far.

there are exceptions for every rule and should be looked at case by case, I'm not here to say who should be at the front of the line.

I feel as entilted as anyone to get my case handled quickly, to me everyone should be expdited. No one should have to wait a year to see there wife.

BTW, to clarify my position. I am very for expedite for active duty military, especially on the verge of deployment. I am also for preferential treatment for vets and other honorably discharged military personnel. I am not opposed to Haiti expedites; those folks are the most down-trodden in our hemisphere. I am not sure how I feel about financial hardship expedites... how will you escape the public charge denial? Health issues? Yeah, I can see expediting that. Other endangerment issues, yep, all for it.

I am not ex-military (although I am an army brat and have many, many friends and relatives in service). I am to the far left of most everyone I know. I still feel very strongly about awarding the service of people who have so put their lives at risk for our nation, whether actively right now or at some time in the past... and whether they were actually called to lay their lives on the line or got lucky to serve when there was no current conflict afoot.

I am not completely sure I agree. I am kind of torn. On the one hand I see my little boy growing up without me, but on the other hand I see the potential for abuse if couples with children are expedited... Also, how do you handle situations like Oregon Bound's? They are not kids in common. Grounds for expedite?? Or is it the fact that you and I have citizen kids and the weight of that citizenship is the basis for the expedite. As you can see, there are all kinds of issues raised by discussing expedites based on children. Now, having gotten all my philosophical ideas off my chest, on a personal level I am 100% behind having my case expedited because of my son. I guess it is kind of like my take on the death penalty. I am philosophically 100% against the death penalty, yet I know that were something like that to happen to me, I would be first in line to carry out the execution. Before I am labeled a hypocrite (which may be justified), I think it really boils down to a difference between rationality and emotionalism.

I, for one, will never understand why the US and Canada have never entered into an agreement that allows completely free movement between our two countries. I don't even think Canadians should be standing in this line. And before anyone chimes in with "what about country X", Canada is different. And I am talking about a diplomatic arrangement between two sovereign nations. Besides, it probably will never happen, but I bet it would have pretty broad public support in both countries.

Check this out.. i read it recently. Very interesting speech that mentions this issue in there with Canada too... http://www.workers.o...migration-1130/

don't mean to intrude, just felt like posting here too..

i have a 8 year old daughter currently in elementary school, yesterday when i picked her up she started bursting into tears asking when daddy was going to bring us home with him ( he is a us citizen , works for air and space defense for the us gov. and luckily for us is able to come every couple of months or so for about a week). Not many are that lucky though. Even though she is not biologically his, but i do have all the custody and papers for her, soemtimes i start stressing and panicking wondering if that wont make it longer, harder, more complicated to get the papers to go to the us. He and i have been together for about 7 years now, reason we applied only last august is because it took a long time findig lawyer to get a court date for her papers. I'm hoping to be getting an answer before the end of the school year, dont know if i should sign her up for summer stuff , hire baby sitter etc, some of which has to be payed in advance, and i still have to schedule my vacation time too. Not knowing when we will get an answer makes it almost impossible to plan anything and we are all starting to suffer from it.

you would think being from canada, i would worry less.. at least we are lucky that our consulates, embassies etc seem to be aware of the southern neighbour...

i don't know.. i don't think i've ever been this stressed out in my life before.

prayers and best wishes to all those waiting!
hopefully csc hurries up soon

you are always welcome here on this forum :) Keep us updated on how things are going for you and your family. I am thinking we will not hear anything about approval until maybe August/ September. I hope you get approved sooner, as you have a lot more to sort out with a school age child. It is tough on our kids being away from the other parent they love.
