I never sent a call record or even one single e-mail. Approved without issue. They are all secondary evidence. Personally, I would not sweat it. The real proof is in the travel tickets, passport stamps, etc. The evidence you have really physically met.

I need to print the emails from my boyfriend and the chat logs as part of the proof for a bonafide relationship when I mail the I-129F. I have over 400 emails from my boyfriend, and very lengthy chat logs. Must I print everrrrrrrything? Help! wacko.gif

I thought about putting everything together into a binder with dividers with different subject so that it may become easier for the USCIS to view them. Will this be fine? Anyone has a better solution?

Thank you all!!

I don't think you need to send USCIS emails or chats yet. They just need proof of your meeting each other within the last 2 years. Maybe, there are new requirements now. You do need those later for your interview.

do not make any changes to the I-134 since it is notarized. as YunandDan points out the I-134 is used for many types of nonimmigrant visas. for K-1's, I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. for mine, I checked do intend and wrote all expenses as needed. Anybody know how long it takes for a person in the philippines to get their passport??

Hello they have 3 days 750peso and 5 days 500peso.

I recently applied for passport renewal for myself and applied also for my 2 kids (both 1st time passport applicants) @ Davao City DFA office

processing time has changed:
500 pesos is for 25 working days (in our case it is even 26 days coz we filed january 14 and releasing date is february 19, we're not in a hurry though, so it is ok blush.gif ) and this is for 32 pages, not the 44pages that is stated on the DFA website

750pesos for 14 working days

and 1000+ pesos something for the expedited processing, i forgot the exact amount nor the exact processing days for this one

but then again maybe this is just the case in Davao. To be sure, just let your fiancee call the DFA office in her area. The Philippine DFA website doesn't offer a comprehensive guide on rate and processing time:(

my wife is from Davao. guess it's slowed down since she got her's back in '06.

1. if the case of my daughter, my wife couldn't find the vaccinations of our daughter, so the vaccinations were regiven.
the Doctor at St Lukes will decide which vaciinations will be given if you do not have any records. the good thing is they are included in the cost of the medical.

3. the CRBA would have to be done ater the birth of the child. http://manila.usemba...v/wwwha003.html
since you are not married to the father, I do not believe the child could have the father's last name. under Philippine Family Law, the child would have your last name.

no need to notify USCIS. If she goes ahead with the medical and interview, she would have six months to enter the USA. the K-2 visa can not be extended. if it might be longer than six months, then probably would be better to wait. you'll have up to one year from the date your k-1 visa is issued to have the K-2 visa issued.

Hello,

My SO and I are planning to file for a K-1 visa. When I looked at the instructions for the I-129F form, it says you "have met in person within two years before your filing of this petition".

Does this mean that you cannot have met the person further in advance of two years? Or that you have simply met at least once within two years before filing? I ask because my SO and I met in March 19, 2006, but we have been flying to see each other every four to eight weeks since then. We're wondering if we need to rush and get our paperwork submitted by March 19, 2008.

Thanks,

Nope! That's mainly for CR and IR visas.
You'll fill out 2 DS 156, 1 DS 156K and 2 DS 157s.

It depends. Some consulated do. Only DS230 part1. (K1 applicant is also considered as an immigrant-that is the reason. I had to at Chennai, India for my K3 which is similar to K1)

My wife and children came to the US on K1 and K2 visas three years ago. They have all the papers in order, and are Permanent Residents with the Conditional Status removed. The problem is that there is another child (under 18) that stayed behind. She did not get a K2 Visa because at the time she wished to stay behind. She was listed on the original paperwork, and the Officer at both interviews made a big deal about ensuring she was acknowledged as my wifes child.

Now she wants to come here and live. How do we go about it?

None of the information I've reviewed really covers this situation. Anything close to it is conflicting...

Anyone out there with any experience in this area?

Chuck B.

The K2 is derivative status from the K1. I would doubt the DHS would allow her to enter the US with it after 3 years (the K1/K2 visa has a 6 month validity from issuance). Even the "follow to join" for a K2 or K4 has to occur within 12 months of the K1/K3 it is derived from.

The process now would be to file a I-130 (petition for relative - check the forum on bringing relatives of US citizens). You can file it as the US citizen as they do not differentiate between a natural child or stepchild when filing.

John

Here is what you have to do if your fiancee wants to travel to US to marry you without her child. Once you get married in US you can file I-485 and you have to file I-131 for her to travel outside US prior to her I-485 approval. As long as she comes back to Russia within one year she can get a K-2 issued for the child and travel back to US. That is the trick K-2 visa can only be issued within one year of K-1 issuance. Good Luck.

good.gif allow for time to schedule the interview. the visa has to be actually issued within one year of the date the K-1 was issued, I agree with Haole, much easier to bring the child with the mom. you can never replace the time lost while separated.
one thing you hear people mention, one of the hardest parts of the process is having to be separated from their fiance. can only imagine how hard it will be for a mom to be separated from their child. guess people will decide what they feel is best for their situation
