US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionBank Account for Affidavit of Support
Hello,

our I-129F got approved last April 19, 2009. Now we are to work on the I-134. Do we really need to show bank statements of my petitioner? He never had a bank account, would this affect the approval of my visa? Is there any alternative requirement for bank documents?

Hope you could help me, I am just worried I wont get approved because of this.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionRFE Questions
I received an RFE asking for proof of current income of my husband since his income last year failed to reach the 125% mark of the poverty level. We actually submitted a letter of employment with out AOS (I-864) when we submit it. My husband had to change jobs and he just started working in the middle of January this year, and he is working more than 60 hrs a week and earning better than his previous work. His current income in average is actually more than 125% of the poverty level. And I am thinking of submitting another employment letter with the information needed by uscis an details of his current work and copy of his pay stubs. Though his pay stubs is like 4 mos worth only since he just started January. Do you think they will accept this enough to prove that he can support me? We do not have bank account statements to submit, so we are really relying on his current income as attachment to our Affidavit of Support. Hope you can give me advise or opinion so I can be guided and think better what to do. Thanks :)

What if you dont have a bank account? I don't have any insurance, health or life, I just started a new job in 8/2006? Will that matter? It pays about 35,000 annually. I just spent a lot of what I had saved on some crazy debt I had, cuz Idont wna tmy husband to have to worrry about that when he gets here. That all he talks about. but anyway, what to do?

No bank account? How are you paid? In Cash?

No I get paid with checks. I dont trust them. Had bad experiences with money disappearing, purchases from christian books stores and Im muslim, stuff like that. About 13 years ago, there was actually a large deposit made INTO my account. Do I need to mention how tempted I was to go make a withdrawl???? So I keep cash all the time, well credit cards and stuff like that.....

Hello sirLancelot,

I have the same case, my US citizen fiance have no bank account, and just being paid in checks, encash in the bank and then pay for expenses... mostly cash transactions. What are we going to do if we are to prepare now the affidavit of support??? will the processing of my K1 visa be affected or disapproved by this bank statement grounds alone?

please advise... thanks!

Hi, We are planning to visit Philippines by September next year (2012) and my GC will expire in August 2012, so I need to apply for Lifting Condition by May 2012 (90 days before expiration). Do you think I will have enough time to get my GC before I travel or I have to apply for Advance PArole so I can travel without GC? Please advice, thank you.

hi jen. i also feel the same way.i had my interview last july 15. i got pink slip. but then i havent received my visa. i also tracked the tracking number they gave me. but it says"not found" like yours. i am also worried right now where my visa is. lets keep on praying and pls let me know if you got yours. thanks.

i also have a question regarding CFO seminar? is everybody required to attend to that seminar even if my fiance is a filipino. i have read on a website that seminar is for filipino fiancee and spouses of foreign nationals.

comments, advices are greatly appreciated. thank you.

All migrating filipinos are required to have the CFO sticker in their passport before they can depart from the Philippines. One of the requirement to register at CFO is to undergo their seminar/orientation... so the answer is yes.

The advices I am receiving from this site makes me feel better. Hope we get our visa very soon, I can accompany you to go to CFO for your seminar if you want, I am going to get my sticker once I have my visa... so let's keep on praying!

Thanks, I live in Quezon City too!!! I just got worried when I don't know where and what part of the process I am in now? I wasn't nervous during my interview and it went well, (except that they kept me waiting inside the cubicle of the consul for 15 minutes or more before he interviewed me for only 5-10 minutes), just now that I cannot track where is it?

Also, is it true that there is no office at the embassy during every thursday afternoon and fridays?

ei just relax.. you'll get it soon... they really give 10 days to wait for our visa for more further investigations... i got approved june 18 same day with my interview, they told me it's 10 working days... i live in tagaytay, but surprisingly i got it june 24...once your visa has been approved... just wait and relax... if you want while waiting for your visa you can attend already the CFO seminar, just bring valid ids or birth certificate and the documents that you presented to the USEM during your interview...bring P250 for the seminar (St, MaRY'S AT katipunan) CFO sticker for 400 pesos...

start fixing your things... Congrats! God bless us...

Thanks for the reply blush.gif I am done with my CFO seminar last May, Im just waiting for my passport and visa to go back to CFO for the sticker.

Does it really mean visa is approved when they give you pink slip?

Hello Everyone!!!

I wish someone would be able to make me feel better...

I am worried why I haven't recevied my visa yet? I had my interview at the US Embassy in Manila last July 16, 2009 and the CO said that my visa has been approved! So I waited outside for them to call my name and they gave me a pink slip then paid Air 21 for the delivery fee. One the K1 visa applicant I met there told me that she got her visa las Tuesday, July 21, 2009. I also tracked my visa at Air 21 website but it says "NOT FOUND". I tried calling the call center (one that has 1-909 numbers) and they told me that its still for review and haven't forwarded to Air 21 yet and that I need to wait for 6-8 weeks then call them back so they can make a follow-up report?

How come they haven't processed/ sent my visa yet when they say I got APPROVED??? to think that I am from Metro Manila and it will be easier to send it to me? I cannot find of any reason why they are holding up on my papers when they say that all the documents are OK??? I just want my visa... what shall I do?

Advice and informations will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance..

Hello everyone. I have a number of questions regarding the US Consulate's (Manila) requirements for K1 visa applicants. I have already accomplished every paperwork needed to be presented by the way. I only have to fill in the DS forms and go in at SLMCEC for the medical examinations. Oblige me please to enumerate my inquiries. I have already paid for the visa application fee already last May. I know this has a one year validity.

1. How long is the validity of the CENOMAR? - expires in 6 mos. from date of issue
2. Do I need to have all my documents verified? (on matters regarding documents verification)- embassy will be the one to verify your documents, I think they will ask for a verification fee amounting to Php 650.00
3. I had taken the liberty to notarize all my documents to be presented for the Consular Interview. Is this acceptable? - that I am not sure
4. I do have a 10 year B1/B2 visa yet never traveled to New York on the purpose to meet Greg over the last year since we knew each other (May 2008). Will this pose a "red flag"? Greg came to visit within the year we met prior our submission of the I-129F however. Just curious. Probably even an unwise inquiry smile.gif) Just curious. - cant comment, i just hope not

Thank you to VJ for making the paperwork very much easier than it actually presents.

Angelie

Hello,

When will be your interview date? mine is scheduled on July 16th. When will you have your medical exam?

Hope i was able to share a few help.

Jen

Thank you Jen! My interview I have no schedule yet. I will call tomorrow to set it up. My medical will call also tomorrow to schedule it.
By the way, when and where do I pay for documents verification?

for Medical, you can just go to SLMCEC, no need for appointment for it is "first come, first serve" basis. I am not sure enough but from what i read, It will be paid at the embassy during interview?? were you the only one who worked on your requirements? Goodluck to both of us!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 Visa Experience 2012
This is such a nice post, very informative and encouraging. And I really like your last phrase. It is true, great things are worth waiting for. Like you, my fiance (now my husband) waited 3 years before filing the petition. By that time, we both really know each other and on the same page of our goals in life, we want to be together.

There are others who I cannot understand, what's the rush if it would just be a red flag on the CO, especially if they have been matched by a close relative here, the more that CO might suspect that the applicant is only up for green card.

Anyways, best wishes on your married and US life.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDoes K1 visa approved petition expires?

It is clear that the guy doesnt love her, because he is delaying the process., but your cousin doesnt love him either, your cousin only wants move to usa.
Like other post said I hope that if they schedule an interview they get deny.
By people like this, it is that the real couples have hard time.
One man that doesnt want get marry and a woman that dont care about that, she only want get a visa.
That is a shame

my cousin is in denial, saying she loves the guy and willing to wait forever if that what it will take for them to be together and also willing to let the guy go if the guy doesn't want her anymore.  The guy made more promises and telling that he is preparing for the future that is why it is taking a while.  I don't know where this relationship will go.  I guess they just enjoy being apart, and enjoys the freedom of being individuals?  To add up, the guy previously petitioned a lady from vietnam which got denied because the girl doesn't really want to be with him but it was her family who paid this guy, that is why he did the petition, but when they broke up, he went back to Vietnam to get the engagement back from the girl and sold to a jeweler to get his moneys worth.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDoes K1 visa approved petition expires?

^^This x 5!

In fact, if I were you, I would just discourage the cousin to stop pushing the boyfriend. The NOA2 has a clear validity date and with the guy not initiating anything during that period is telling, or maybe he just got cold feet or whatever. It doesn't matter if he knew or his lawyer was telling him the petition is still valid up to 1 year, the point is he let that slipped. So he's probably no longer THAT serious with her.

Let them sort this between themselves. If the guy still wants your cousin to be in US with him, then they will have to contact USEM nonetheless and inquire if they can still pursue the K1 visa based from that approved I-129f petition. If declined, then back to square 1.

My hubby and I totally agree with you.  they even had an argument and the guy told my hubby that he doesn't want to be pressured and let him work on it in his own phase.  We figured he just don't want to do it and trying to make an excuse to get away with the process and bringing my cousin here in US without telling my cousin directly.  I told my hubby to not talk about it (visa) with him and let it be if he wanted it to expire and not do anything about it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDoes K1 visa approved petition expires?

On a side note, does your cousin still want to marry somebody not excited to marry her? Or so it seems, unless there are other factors like financial or family issues?

there is no other factors, both side of the family have  been supportive and financial is not an issue.  It is the guy who cannot make up his mind to commit.  he even wanted to back out of the trip to the Philippines to see my cousin but he keeps saying he likes her, he is such a cheapskate and doesn't want to spend money for everything.  he is not sure if he wants to get married either, he is afraid of sharing his money. and would try to scape if he can on a commitment.  on the other hand, I think my cousin just love the idea of getting here in US.

If they're not ready to commit and go through with the process, why even bother filing again? It sounds like they're happy being BF and GF from 7000 miles apart.

my cousin said that her BF called the lawyer that he paid to submit the petition and said that they can still call and set an appointment for interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDoes K1 visa approved petition expires?

I'm aware of one couple that kept the K-1 petition alive for two years at the Manila Embassy. They were going to have issues with a qualifying income due to a layoff, and it took that long to get back to work and dig out of the hole again. But they stayed in contact with the embassy to keep the petition alive.

they have not called in the USEM to set an appointment to date, the validity of their NOA2 expired last April 18, 2014.  they are no where ready for a visa interview as they have not worked on their visa requirements.  I know, the consulate would extend it if they have been in touch with them before it expires or at least set an appointment and they can always move it when they are not yet ready with their documents, but sadly, their is no problem income wise with this guy, he is just making all kinds of excuses delaying the process, that is why it took so long that they let the petition to expire.  I don't see so many couple away from each other working on fiancé visa that would not work on their papers right away.  Some were so ready for an interview the moment they get their eligibility.  Maybe they just don't miss each other that much and eager to be together, I don't know.  I am just trying to get some advice for them.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDoes K1 visa approved petition expires?

Hi friends, its been a while.  I have a question about K1 visa petition, does it expires?  My cousin's K1 visa petition was approved last December and got her Eligibility letter for visa interview dated January, but to date, they haven't done anything about it.  Her fiancé keeps making excuses to send her the financial paperwork, and she haven't completed her requirements either waiting for her fiancé.  So they haven't scheduled an interview yet for the last 6 months because they are both not ready.  We suspect that the guy doesn't really want her here in US so he keeps making excuses of how costly it takes while bragging how much cash he was able to save in the last months.   Do any of you know a case where the petition was redirected or cancelled for no action taken? thanks for any info.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 petition filed even not engaged yet....

Are you asking about yourself considering the prior relationship timeline in your signature or another person?

this is for someone else... also, one of the party just got divorced and turn-around and filed the petition, do you think this will work?

You both must sign and include a "letter of intent" with the I-129f petition. The letter of intent states that you intend to be married to each other within 90 days of the beneficiaries arrival. How would you NOT be engaged?

You could meet someone today in person and file an I-129f tomorrow and if you meet the qualifications the petition will be approved. Length of courtship has nothing whatever, NOTHING, to do with whether a petition gets approved or not. An approved petition is NOT a visa and whether of not a VISA is apporved will depend on the consulate. Your courtship will be far longer than 3 months before you get to the consulate stage.

Please read the instructions before sending a non-refundable check.

thank you very much,

what about, they have filed it (petition) right after one of the party just got divorced on the same month?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetitioner did not respond to NOID Letter for K1

Well, the petitioner wasn't really sure about proposing yet to fiancee B, we kept asking him the whole he was visiting with her whether he would propose or not and he said, he wasn't sure of the whole idea as it has been too quick.. they have been talking for a year before their first meeting (that was 2 years ago).  so 3 days before the petitioner leave to US, girl B asks him if he is ever going to propose to her and started crying, they were in their bedroom, so the guy, just gave him a ring laying down on the bed, saying, here's the ring? lol? afterwards, girl B came out of the room beaming and flashing her ring.  petitioner had no choice that time, I guess?

A petitioner have submitted a K1 petition with girl A which was denied at visa interview for ground of no genuine relationship and has not respond to NOID.  After few years, filed another K1 petition to girl B, petition was approved, (former petition to girl A was noted in the application), approved petition expired since april 19 but girl B was able to get a visa interview scheduled first week of Sept.  my question is, would girl B's visa application be affected for not responding to NOID letter of the petitioner?  Petitioner did not actually proposed but girl B made him do it in tears before leaving on the first and last visit.  I just want to know your thoughts?
