Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGet arrested by husband while 10 years green card is close - Please help
well, I dont know the rest but I got arrested when I applied the green card the first time. I had a case. The immigration officer said she is going to approve my case but she needs to see the disposition of the criminal court. So everything has to be clean before they can decide. If I were you I would hire good criminal attorney and immigration attorney.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni-751 still pending, i-551 expiring but couldnt get extension.
Hi
My i-751 case still pending. I got a letter that I should wait 60 days for my interview day two weeks ago. Last Year I got one year extension stamp I guess it is called i-551. It is expiring on 24th of Jan. 2013. When I got the stamp, they took my i-751 receipt last year so I only have bio app. letter. Today, I went to Hotsville USCIS. I talked to guy and explained the case. My case stil pending and I need a stamp on my passport so I can work and show others that I am a resident. He didnt give me stamp and said I need a letter that saying my green card is extending one year. At the same time, he told me I am still a resident of USA. I dont get it. If I am a resident of USA and my case is still pending shouldnt I get a proof that I am a resident of USA. How I am suppose to apply for vendor's licence on summer? I dont know how long is it going to take this interview. Do you know what should I do? Should I wait until the stamp expires?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 Package

No affidavits, our parents dont live near us and seems like an odd request for close friends. Can I get an RFE based without an affidavit?

If I were I would try. I wouldnt be an odd request for close friends. I got them from my friends. Yet affidavits are not that important but it just looks good.
By the way, your evidence is one of the strongest ones I have seen. I dont think you will have any problem with affidavit or without affidavit. However, with affidavit you might get your 10 year card without interview. Dont worry you will be fine brother.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni-751 interview divorce experience.
Today, I did my interview in NY with my lawyer. The person who interviewed me was pretty rude. Once I went to room he asked "what happend?" I told him there were problems in the marriage with financial. I had to dropped out from the college to support my family. But, he was reluctant to listen to me. I bet he didnt even studied the case. He didnt know what kind of documents I have submitted last year. Yet, he said, I saw some document but I can not find it. Anyways, I have answered every single questions he asked for. Lawyer and me agreed that we didnt fail from the answers but the person who interviewed having hard time to understand or does not want to understand. He said where is your tax return and where are your evidences. haha are you kidding me? I already submitted all those documents a year ago and you dont know where are they? Anyways, I gave my copies my documents plus, I wanted to add some photos. He said he doesnt want any photos and he sees affidavits are just a paper. He said, where is my lease agreement from landlord. I dont have one because most of the houses in Long Island are rented illegally and they dont want to get in trouble. So, there are not any electric bills either. Yes, I dont have much documents. I had bank statements, credit card statements auto insurance cards, tax return and several photos - the ones I already submitted- At the end, he said to my lawyer a lot of people doing fraud marriages. He took copies of my passport and green card that is already expired. He said he is going to review the case. As a result, he is very confused with papers. He confused with my name and one of my affidavits. My lawyer said, it went well it is not that bad but I am not sure

1) How long it might take them make a decision.
2) I dont have any evidences left, Yet, I dont even have copies of my previous evidences because he took all of them again.. so is anybody going to ask the documents again..

May I ask when you filed, and what were your NOA & biometrics dates? I would be interested to see your timeline.
Thanks!

I have applied on December 2011 and a month later I went to biometrics. It took almost 13 months to get the into the interview. I called them why is this taking so long and they said. They only take one or max. 2 people a month for the interview. So, you may guess how many people on the line..

Just so you know the lawyer can't speak for you. He is only there to point out if they are not following the law and to take notes.
Not sure how complicated your case is but you could go without a lawyer to the interview. Ours just sat there for $ 600 ....

Look for another lawyer. You dont want to change the date. This would the last thing you make in your life. Yet, on the usic website they say Do not change the date unless it is very very important such as you are in ER..
If I were you I wouldnt do it. It is gonna delay and you will be still in stress. Last week I had my interview, today I got a mail that they have placed the order for the new card. So once you go to interview with you lawyer one or two weeks later you are done! So never ever, find a another lawyer... DO not change the date.. DOnt
