I emailed Monica Maxwell @ the embassy and she checked the status this morning. She said his visa should be issued today and will be handed to DHL by this afternoon or tomorrow. I feel better knowing that it only takes a day to get it by DHL. YAY!!! I'm soooo excited!!! biggrin.gif

We're still waiting for the Embassy to send the DHL out. We got approved Wednesday and I just checked dhl today, it hasn't gone out. We're hoping he gets his visa in hand on Wed or Thurs this week so he can be here by this Friday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. smile.gif

He didn't see any tracking info until that Thursday and it arrived next day. He should get it in a couple days max... With all the nonsense that they put you guys through you would think they would hurry up.

But LIAT is doing all kind of nonsense coming out of St. Vincent; they stopped in Antigua when they were supposed to go straight to San Juan. Now they are running an hour late. There is no way he could have made it out of the Caribbean without some crazy thing happening! Hopefully everything will move smoothly from now on.

see... Congrats! Roughly 3 wks. Keep checkin for packet 4 because it is a hassle to have to go to the embassy before the medical, otherwise your SO has to schedule an extra day in Barbados to pick up his appt letter.

as it is he has to go over there a few days early; he will need to get there Thursday evening so he take do the medical Friday Morning and then spend the weekend for the interview on Monday. He is not looking forward to the hassle of that but he doesn't mind because he will be here really soon!


He actually has to be there Wednesday evening for the medical on thursday, the results on friday, and the interview on monday. same as we had to do.

they usually dont reply to the emails til the following day, so if you email tomorrow, youll get a response hopefully with a date on thursday.

I emailed them on Friday to make sure they received the stuff, and they replied saying they received it and it will be processed in a few days. They tell u the turnaround is 7 bus days, so Im trying to just relax and wait. Plus, I already have the dhl tracking number for the return pkg, so I just check that like 3 times a day, to see when they actually send it out. lol


I will email them today then.
I hope they hurry up so you guys can be together and be finished with this mess they call Barbados.

My finance still hasn't received anything from Barbados. They said that the packet was mailed on the 7th of this month, and when I asked why it was taking so long they resent another one on the 21st.

St. Vincent is right next to Barbados there is NO reason it should be taking this long.

Wow, EmpressM do you know I never realized that you had been approved and waiting for packet 3. I would have given you advice. My advice to anyone in the caribbean dealing with this process is DO NOT WAIT. Take it in your own hands, and send them what is needed. Now that youve finally gotten the packet, make sure you do not use Snail Mail, I would use DHL since it seems like that is their preferred carrier. Also make sure to follow up once the packet is received because your interview date can sail right past you waiting for your appointment letter in the mail.

I will post a thread a lil later detailing my experience at the Bridgetown embassy for you two ladies. good.gif


I was thinking about sending the documents in without waiting any longer for them and around that time is when they finally arrived... My fiance mailed packet three back this morning via DHL it will be there by tomorrow morning. I will make sure to follow up with them about the interview because I was afraid of that exact thing; us not getting packet four until after the interview date.

I will be waiting for that post, any help at all will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for asking. The interview went. lol. not so well though. It wasnt difficult, and overall the process was pretty straight forward, but we pretty much ended with an RFE. He had to send some more info, which was sent to them the next day, so hopefully by next week (if they are finally satisfied) he should have his visa in hand. It was all pretty well, just a little disheartening to have to leave after all of that without the visa in hand.

Oh Lawdy....that is definitely frustrating!!! You're right, there is no excuse for that. I wish they offer DHL service from the consulate...I would gladly pay them just so Packet 3 gets to my SO in a timely manner. The NOA2 wait is frustrating enough but to wait for mail from Barbados? That's just enough to set me over the edge.

Yes they sent it snail mail... but still it shouldn't take this long! Well I guess if they can't even get stuff to Barbados from Barbados we are all doomed to wait... Jene & Desland said that it took about 4 weeks before they received theirs.

I can send something to him from TX and it will be there in approximately two weeks; they have no excuse for this delay.

I will keep you posted, you do the same.

Hmnn....we got the mail last 24th of January from NVC telling us that our papers was forwarded to the consulate already....SO happy with that! Then called almost everyday this week to check, and cant get hold of somebody to talk to...so decided to send them a mail and an email...checking where my packet 3 is for 2 weeks now?????...and they replied via email that it was returned to them because of WRONG address.... mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif BUT why can it be wrong??? or if so...why i wasn't informed??? since they all have the details, phone numbers, home and email addresses???...if we had not checked and kept on following them up...until now we were waiting for nothing.SIGHHSSS... no0pb.gif Now, im impatient of waiting for them to resend the packet 3 and scared it might be lost again or wait another 2 weekssss? so asked them, that i have researched and downloaded the forms i need to send them back to be able to schedule for interview so if it is possible to send it their way even i have not received packet 3 yet...thank God they said YES... kicking.gif so mailed it to their office Right away...just WISHH innocent.gif ...we would be getting a schedule for interview soonn....

...and now back to waiting...

So any of you guys who just had their approvals out there and waiting for their packet 3...BETTER KEEP CHECKING!
For the rest who are still waiting...hope you get yours anytime SOON....


thats funny... My fiance still hasnt received not one package from the embassy. Not even the appt letter, and the appointment is Monday. lol You just gotta have faith with this system.


My finance still hasn't received anything from Barbados. They said that the packet was mailed on the 7th of this month, and when I asked why it was taking so long they resent another one on the 21st.

St. Vincent is right next to Barbados there is NO reason it should be taking this long.

This whole process is extremely frustrating!
