The pregnancy is going very well!

He was trying to see the baby's heart chambers but the baby's curled up hiding it. Then he shook my belly with the wand and yelled "Earthquake! Earthquake! Aaaaah!" On the screen, the baby looked startled, uncurled and started kicking (Ow! I felt it!). Voila!--heart can be seen and technician was happy.

All in all, baby's developing normally and healthy. BTW, it's a GIRL! :-) I'm elated.

All are awesome.

Speaking of movies (which we were before)... I finally convinced hubby to join Netflix (but somehow it managed to work out to seem like his idea, even though I've been wanting to do it for a few months? Whatever works! lol!) I'm addicted to rating movies, and have 11 in my queue! yay! We should be getting the first movie in the mail tomorrow. I'm so excited!!

Don't forget, you get free instant watch movies with your plan too! =D

What happened to them? =(

I've been trying, but I can't always make it on.

Haven't seen it yet, though we will. It's right near the top of our Netflix queue, though it's still showing Long Wait.

Wes Anderson is hit or miss with me. I enjoyed The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic, but HATED The Darjeeling Limited and didn't care much for Rushmore. Still, I'm looking forward to watching The Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Don't ask me why!

But

the second picture made me think of him as a captain of a ship..lol

So I say captain Fin  heh

Animal lover here, had to stop and say....very cute cat. :D

Between Finnegan and Hurley, I'd say he looks more like a Finnegan.

I second that, captain Finn. =D

We do have walls, bars, razorwire, and guards with guns to keep them in their place. Barring a massive earthquake I think you'll be just fine.

Still it's a odd place to put the USCIS office.

Maybe it's for ease of throwing the illegals over the fence?

I guess the kitchen is making toast or something because some woman just walked by and said: "I smell burnt toast" and I burst out laughing and then said: "Dr. Penfield... I smell burnt toast!" and she just looked at me, and then I realized... I'm not in Kansas anymore....

Hahaha.

Sorry Sprail, didn't mean to laugh, but I knew what you were talking about and it was funny from my perspective.

Morning everyone, thanks for the coffee wishes Carla! =)

I'm off caffine completely in the mornings now, so I'll pretend it's warm apple cider. Mmmmmmm.

So would I since they don't exist.

There was never one issued by the US Treasury, but they do exist.

However, before the Civil War, banks operating under State charters issued notes of that denomination. These notes were printed by private contractors and were not obligations of the federal government.

I've had American $1 coins before, given back as change! No clue what type they were

At my first job I was loading up someone's car for some older guy who was from Texas - and he had a ton of the Eisenhower dollars.

He tipped me one, and since I thought they were so cool I traded him 5 bucks for 5 more. I still have them stashed somewhere in my coin collection I think. =)

Seems that many people have a fear of needles. Doesn't bother me at all personally - never has, what exactly is the fear, pain of a needle?

I can't watch them stick needles in people's eyes.

Lazer eye surgery was incredibly painful for me [the first round, they botched the eye cut], though so I imagine that's why eyes bother me a lot.

Yes. I have put my two years in here... it's time to move on to something else.

I kind of stopped putting my heart into it, so I know that it's time for me to go.

Reminds me of my ex-roomate.

Every two years on the nose he breaks up with his current g/f.

Says something along the lines of "I know we worked well together, but she's just not perfect so I always knew she couldn't be the one for me."

They always go through a stage of "let's try this again" which fails a month or two afterward too.

Then he gets super depressed (even though, in every case HE broke it off suddenly and without warning - at least from what the poor women have told me).

The first time, I felt bad and tried to help. This year was the third time, I just laughed.

It does suck about the job tho. I'm very lucky with my job for the most part.

Haha, I never thought about that. THe next 6 we're getting are bloodfin tetras, and I'm going to name them after dead lost characters. I think: Charlie, Libby, Juliet, Ana Lucia, Boone and Shannon.

I know, one more day! I still have like 7 episodes to watch from season 5. I feel like stopping tho, cause I've been watching them so much that I dream about Lost.

You've been watching so much that I'm dreaming of Lost too.

Seriously, John Locke was screaming at me that to save everyone on the island I had to ... use the toilet. SCREAMING.

My husband informed me that he is going to iron his work shirts today. I usually do the ironing but bec of the random blizzard last night, we ended up at the in-laws and I hadnt caught up with all the chores until now. And now Im about to make dinner.

So husband is going to do his own ironing! He must really dread it because in putting off the ironing, hes done 2 loads of laundry, re-filed the filing cabinet, eaten a BIG snack, fixed the stairs and shoveled all the snow off our front door/porch.

I find that ironing 5 work shirts will take a quarter of the time than doing any of those... Poor baby.

Don't tell Peachey, but I'd trade her any chore to avoid ironing. It's not that I can't, it's that I detest doing it.

That and I always burn some random body part. :innocent:

Lol Oh I actually use to run Linux in the ol' programming days, pretty much gave up now though. After getting home from work I usually don't even want to touch a computer Lol.

I love when I see newbs using it with the windows interface though and are completely unaware of how powerful it is in the back-end. It makes me die a little inside seeing it haha.

I use several variants, including the wonderful text only kind.

I have a old pentium 75, with 64Mg of ram, and 200Mg HD sitting under my desk hosting a online voice chat application. It's been running for 200ish days, since the last time the power went out. I never need to reboot the thing "just because" and it's pounded by my friends all day (multiple timezone friends). It's running GenToo.

I use Knoppix or Ubuntu at home for my non-gaming machines. It's just easier to get setup. Tho my bil wants me to try another variant that looks pretty spiffy.

I love the comments about how macs are unhackable or that they are invulnerable to virus'. Is that why the biggest vulnerability out there is actually an Apple brainchild (Quicktime)?

Yeah, those comments crack me up.

It's like pass it down the line.

Smart person: Well, realistically, if you're creating a virus/trojan it doesn't make sense to target Macs as the % of computers that use it is low.
person: I heard that Macs get less viruses made to attack them.
person: Macs get less viruses I hear.
person: Macs are UNHACKABLE and COMPLETELY immune to viruses!

My husbands house is in a Homeowners Association...but it isn't near as bad as some of them out there...Where the in-laws live..thay are even told what colour of flowers they are allowed to plant!!! M-I-L planted bulbs and I guess some came up the wrong colour and they were pulled out of the ground while she was at work!!! Like #######?????

One of my Sisters lives in Texas. Her front door had been painted red for 8 years. She got a note one day that the colour was not acceptable to the HOA and she needed to change it.

I would not respond well to things like this.

Maybe you should start a miniature zoo. I mean, all animals inside have to be under two feet long. You could have hedgehogs, shrews, voles, ferrets, weasels, frogs, toads, lemmings, stoats... You'd have lower costs of waste disposal and food, require less square footage, but still provide a great attraction to young and old alike. Even the Amish couldn't possibly object!

And if the business model fails and you need to get rid of all of your overhead? Just buy a few owls and open all the cages.

OOOOOooooooOOOOO

Can we Peachey? Can we?

Since Peachey and myself love pets, and are stuck at a place with a no-pet clause, we poked around last night at a fish store.

Our landlord told me, that they are ok with a small fish tank on the first floor - but really nothing else.

So, we picked up a fish tank last night!!

Going to start the process of getting the circle of life (yes, I'm singing the lion king song) going and get some fish later this week.

We're going to pick up a couple kinds!

Posted Image
6 bloodfin tetras (they like small schools)

Posted Image
6 golden xray tetras (again, they like small schools)

Posted Image
1 powder blue dwarf gourami

Posted Image
1 banded dwarf gourami

HORAY FOR PETS!

Peachey has to try and keep me under control, I enjoy pets so much I'd probably get one or two of everything at the pet store if I could.

If I had a ranch and could afford it, I think I'd have a:
Rhinos, Hippos, Elephants, White&Bengal tigers, Leopards, Dogs & Cats - especially larger breeds - but anything rescued is fine, Hedgehogs (duh), Ferrets, Fish (especially puffers!), Eels, Turtles, and Birds

I'm super excited tho, because we get to have SOME kind of pet!!

Yea and plus I hang out with people from here. He'll be dropping me off somewhere and he'll say: "Who are you going out with again?" and I'll be like: "VJ Canadians!"

And he's all: "Mmmmkay"

And sometimes there will be board drama and I'll tell him as if it is real life drama, except I'll use screen names and it'll sound hilarious but I'll be all serious about it, like this is serious business! It'll sound something like this...

"So and so said this to wyatt and then krikit came in and was like BOOYA and then trailmix was like 'yay calgary and then lgg was all "ribbit" and I was just like: "HOLY CARP!"

and he'll listen to me, but I am sure it'll make no sense.

Friends and family find it quite odd just how close we feel to "random internet people" that we met/talk to on VJ.
