K-3 Spousal Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC still doesn't have my file
QUOTE (rogerbhai @ Apr 3 2009, 11:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Its been close to 3 weeks. sinc eI got my NOA2...does anyone know if this is typical?

Should I call CSC or NVC to inquire where the file is?

thanks

Theyre gonna give you the standard 2-4 weeks. took mine 2 weeks. I called the NVC every day after I recieved the NOA. Be sure when you call speak with an operator and dont use that automated business.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaGoing for embassy interview....Bogota hotel suggestions?...
QUOTE (Joe McGillicuddy @ Apr 20 2009, 04:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I would prefer to keep it inexpensive. My fiancee and her daughter are going up Wednesday afternoon (from Cali), and I will arrive Friday morning (interview is Monday morning).

I saw the link in the embassy info section for www.bogotacolombialodging.com....the rates and rooms look good, and the reviews are good, but I am having real trouble contacting anyone there for some questions.

Does anyone have any other reasonable but safe suggestions for something in Bogota?

Thanks in advance!!

My wife was just there and stayed at a hotel directly accross from the Embassy, great rates, clean rooms, breakfast included. They pick you up at the airport and call all taxis for you. The neighborhood is very good.

Call them very helpful http://hotelcasalaembajada.com/

Yo no fui. Mi esposa estaba alla a la embajada por 3.5 horas, nada mas. Para las visas K3 es lo mas rapido, somo americanos y casados.

Hablame si quieres saber mas. I assume you speak english?

Me podrian aclarar esto ... Muchas gracias.

Cuando tu caso salga california y esta aprovado en el NVC se cambia el numero. En California es WAC************** cuando esta lista para colombia cambian el numero con BGT*********** (el BGT significa Bogota.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 steps, tired of waiting (aren't we all)
QUOTE (wayno @ May 7 2009, 07:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Still up in the air as to which Visa to pursue. In a perfect world we want the CR1. But I understand the disadvantages with going the K3 route but the money saved by rent, phone calls, electric, and other living expences for my wife in Costa Rica might just make the K3 cheaper. She has been with me in the U.S. in the past and understands not being able to work right away but thats OK as she needs to go to english classes anyway before she can take a job.

My questions/
Based on the K3, how long after my NOA2 would my wife expect an interview, or at least notification of a date?
Also what forms do I (the petitioner) have to fill out? I-864 or I-134?
Who sends in the DS-230?
Do we both get an AOS interview in the states when we file to adjust status or would her K3 interview in Costa Rica be sufficiant?

At the moment we are looking to pursue the CR1 but with all this waiting we are thinking if both petitions get approved the same day, like many here, just go ahead with the K3 if she gets notified by the empasy shortly thereafter for a medical and interview.

This is Bogota.......

If you want times for Bogota, read my timeline. It flew. After our I-129F (submitted first) was approved it was 100 days. After our NOA 2 we had an interview in weeks. Use the I-134. You file the ds-230 with you I-129f and the I-130 then you'll send a copy later to the embassy before your interview. Adjustment of status in the US if enter on the Visa.

Good luck.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPackage 3 forms
Help!!!!!!!!! My wife's I-129f package for her K3 Visa has been received in Bogota, Colombia and we want to trim some time off the process waiting for the mail system to deliver her Package 3. We have everything ready, DS-230. My question is, does this get returned with the OF-169 (the declaration) or the DS-2100 (Notification of Applicant Readiness). Weve seen copies of both forms on line and at the Embassy's site.

We dont want to wait weeks for the package to arrive but also want to send the correct documents.

Thanks

QUOTE (karma08 @ Apr 19 2009, 10:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
For those who are close to interview dates, get your vaccine shots early. My fiance just recently took her exam and was told she needed to get two shot for $400.000 (pesos), luckily she did them already prior to leaving but just did not record it as of yet for $50.000 pesos, quite a difference! Save yourselfs some money instead of being rip off, there's enough things to try not to worry about.

My wife has absolutely no record of vaccine shots.

Cant wait to se what well pay.

Absolute fax it! Thats what I did and we had an interview date within 5 days. My wife's interview and she still has not recieved the packet 3. After you fax it you can call the DOS and they can verify that your information was received abd that the packet went out.

headbonk.gif OK I HAVE ASKED THIS QUESTION BEFORE. BUT AS I WAS READING THRU ALL DIFFERENT WEBSITES (US EMBASSY AT BOGOTA, USCIS, AND DEPARTMENT OF STATE) THEY ALL CONFUSE ME EVEN MORE.
I AM NOT EMPLOYED, I APPEAR ON MY MOTHER^S INCOME TAXES AS A DEPENDANT. I ALREADY HAVE A JOINT SPONSOR. THIS GUY MAKES 125 OVER THE US POVERTY GUILINES OF 2009 (EVEN THOUGH I READ ON THE DEPARTMENT OF STATES WEBISTE THAT IT NEEDS TO BE ONLY 100%) Off-Topic2.gif ANYWAY, I AM VERY CONFUSED.

I HAVE APP ON THE 1 OF JUNE. DO I NEED TO FILE FORM 134 (NOTARIZED? AGAIN, I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THERES NO NEED FOR IT BUT ON THE INSTRCUCTIONS IT SAYS IT DOES) OR 864(FOR MYSELF AND JUST STATE THAT I AM UNEMPLOYED)?
AND FOR THE JOINT SPONSOR, DO THEY NEED TO FILE 134 ALSO OR JUST STRAIGHT TO 864. HE IS MARRIED SO HE ALSO NEEDS A I864A FOR HIS WIFE AND SINCE SHE IS UNEMPLOYED AND IS CLAIMED ON HIS INCOME TAXES, SHE DOESNT NEED ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES HER GREEN CARD.
PLEASE BE VERY SPECIFIC WITH YOUR ANSWERS. I REALLY REALLY NEED TO DO THIS AND I AM VERY CONFUSED. sad.gif

THANKS

All you need is the I-134 and supporting documentation. Relax..........

Send some fotos, airline ticket copies things like that to show that you have met in person within the past 2 years. Part of the package requires you to send your marriage cert if K3 or 130 is being filed. Fotos of the wedding went a long way.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresmedical
QUOTE (YuAndDan @ May 27 2009, 06:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yes the results for the medical can be used for CR-1 visa, also needs to make sure to do the vaccinations too, they are optional for a K-Visa, but are required for IR-1 and CR-1 visas because the CR-1/IR-1 immigrant visa generates a GREEN-Card and that requires vaccinations. A K-Visa can defer the vaccinations and do them when adjusting status.

Many simply request to reschedule the K-Visa interview to allow the I-130 to reach the consulate and get the K-3 interview switched to a CR-1 interview.

FYI for a K3 visa in Bogota they absolutley require vaccinations prior to the interview and the cost of vaccinations is separate and expensive.

United KingdomVaccination records
Hi there. Shadowednavi's future husband using her account here. Tomorrow I have my medical coming up and in my pre-mailing of forms check up I stumbled on the vaccination records which it asked me to bring.

Now, I'm not the most knowledgeable person in the world and I don't visit the doctors... ever. Last visit I can recall was like 5 years ago. I'm not even sure where my info would be right now.

So... I realise asking on the night before the appointment is borderline insane, but I'd rather have a calm night of sleep before it on the off chance that I can get away with it.

The forms mention that if you don't have a record you can sort something out with the doctor and/or get the vaccinations in the US (on a K1 visa, anyway).

So... uh? How bad would it be if I walk in there tomorrow with just the form and the photos, no vaccination record in hand?

United KingdomHow did everyone meet?
Short story? Met on a Sonic the Hedgehog message board biggrin.gif

Long story? He'd been on there for a few years longer than I was. When I was a newbie, I thought he was a moderator. And I avoided all moderators for fear of saying something wrong and getting in trouble. We started talking maybe six months later due to a common interest in the band Rush. That was in early 2003, and we hooked up around the same time in 2005. The rest, as they say, is history. ^^

Longer story? Any entry in my Livejournal from October 2004 on. I won't make you read it, though. :3

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Questions
Hey there!

I'm in a somewhat similar position regarding the I-134. I'm looking at this form and I have -no freaking clue- where to begin. No clue. At all. The instructions are telling me that I basically need to earn way more money than I do now, and when I'm in the middle of finding a new job, in the middle of becoming independent from my parents... something tells me they're the ones that need to fill the majority of this form out.

From what I understand, both my mom/dad and I have to fill out our own I-134's 'cause I'm still a dependent of them. Right?

So um... I guess my two biggest concerns are "what do I put on mine, then?" and "will they frown upon us because I can't quite support myself right now, adding onto that how young I am (gonna be 19 in a week)"?

I realize these are probably questions I should have asked before sending the petition off six months ago XD; But what's done is done, and we're this far. I just don't want to screw it up, especially when I'm trying my hardest to get off of that platform that is my parents' money.

Thank you so much in advance for the help,

~Tricia
