K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Confused, NVC, Seminar!!!!!!	I am the petitioner, my fiance is in Cebu. Our NOA 1 June 28th and as we all know there are many, many dates being approved around this time. I read this site regularly, and I have gained vast knowledge here, thanks to all of YOU! My question is, we have one 3 ring binder, with all our information init, in chronological order, in "see through" plastice, with the top part open if an officer wants to take a documents out to read more than the pront page, pictures, proof of travel, rentals, lodging, divorce decree's (mine) income taxes, assets, proof of income, everthing you could think of. We have one copy! All orginals some letters from my bank VP's notarized. I keep reading here where NVC will ask for documents, so do we need additional copies, to send to NVC, and save all orginals, for the interview, and also I just read that at the day long seminar they will want to see all those documents again,..,.,DOES THE OFFICER THAT INTERVIEWS MY FINACE KEEP ANY OF THE ORGINAL COPIES? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Experienced, VJ'ers, please respond!!!	My fiancee and I was on "Skype" at 15 minutes after it became the New Year there in the Philippines, when we got our NOA 2.,,.it was wonderful! Now, to my question.,.,my fiance was diagonosed with Hep"B" in late July, we were June 28 NOA 1 filers, she has been under the care of a specialist for this condition since the diagonisis, including a sonigram of the liver.,.,.,and intensive care with monitering, and medications, and since the disease was discovered.,.,.,her "levels have come down to "non-detectable levels, she has responded to the drugs so well, we also have several doctor visits, doctors notes showing the improvement, and 3 (very expensive) blood tests, to check for the disease. All the doctor's notes are on "lettterhead", dated and all reports are all positive, including a "Certificate of Travel" letter saying that she has responded very well to treatment, """AND IS FIT TO TRAVEL, AND WORK IN THE USA"..,.,.,AND signed by the specialist.,.,.,Dr. Ortiz.,.,.,.,we are looking for a medical in 2-4 weeks and the last date of her very positive doctor's notes, was 1-2-2013.,.,.,.,.,.Please my friends, your comments and advice would be appreciated.,,. I just read where a fellow VJ'er, had his or her K 1 129 F, returned to VSC, and was under the understanding that it might or is probably because of a ""background"" check.,.,.,but according to the USCIS web site, ""background checks are done during the initial interview segement, at VSC.,.,.,so my question is.,.,.,.,.Does VSC and NVC do ""background checks"" on petitioner's, I thought after 186 days at VSC.,.,at least we were moving along on our long journey! According to St. Luke's Medical, YOU MUST HAVE a "hard copy" of the mnl letter with the number on it before they will schedule an interview for you..,.,.I have my MNL number.,.,.,but cannot do anything until I get the "hard copy" and forward it to the Visa company handling my petition in the Philippines.,.,..St. Luke's web site says the same thing, MUST have letter or e mail with MNL number on it!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Amazed, NVC responds in 4 days with NVC "hardcopy"	WE are K 1 filers, and have come through a long process. USCIS approved us 12-31-12, received hardcopy 1 week later, forwarded to NVC. Left NVC 1 and 1/2 days after receiving our petition, but we had no "hard copy" of MNL number I e mailed NVCInquiry@state.gov this past Monday, and today, Friday at 1:05 pm I got the NVC hard copy my e mail, contains both our names, the MNL number, and said that all corrospondence should be directed to the embassy in Manila! I am shocked I was able to get this so soon, as waiting for regulas postal to get the letter can take weeks. Now, we know that "hard copy" is required for medical at St Lukre's Medical, so I have forwarded it to the Visa company that is working with me to get the medical/interview process done! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Compilation of Documents	My fiancé completed the interview not long ago, and she is scheduled to get her visa tomorrow! You cannot be precise enough getting your "proof" of relationship together. I will just offer of what we did, and she went through the interview with no problems. I cannot impress on you enough, that you need to be very organized and know exactly where things as the officer will ask for. -- Buy a 1 and 1/2 inch 3 ring notebook, and plastic cover inserts for each document to go into. Buy ""tabs"" that labels each section of what is in the notebook. -- Start with all your letters of documentation (NOA 1 NOA 2, MNL number etc. --Assets section, bank statements, savings. -- Last years income tax return. -- e-mails between you two. -- Money transferred like Western Union receipts. -- Proof of travel, that you two have physically met. -- Pictures, be selective use one's with family and friends -- Both need to hand write letter of intention to marry within 90 days of POE -- Divorce decrees if there has been any. -- Up-dated proof of income just before you go to interview I am sure I have missed some things.,,.. but this will give you some idea of how to start! I am sure JFK will probably be better, we were so long in Atlanta, our luggage was the only ones left on the carousel, when we got there! I knew, my now wife, for a few months, and were just friends, but we got closer, and closer over time in the Philippines, and every time I visited we became closer. After a failed relationship for me, she knew I loved her all the time, and we decided to become a couple and file a K-1 visa! We were engaged on June 12, 2013, and filed the K-1 on June 22, 2013!!! You just need very good proof! We did great until we ran into the """SPUTUM FIASCO"" at St. Luke's.,., but we are happily married and living in the USA> Being friends, then lovers is a great advantage!!! When my wife and I were going through this, it has been some time ago, the name AmeriBank.,..,. keeps floating around in my mind, as there are not very many banks I would trust with 10K, between countries.,.,., but I agree, do not carry more than 10K with you.,.,.set up your bank account between countries before you leave, and make sure it is a bank that is affiliated with the Philippines!    I just asked my wife from Cebu, she says there is CitiBank there..,.,. and all over the US!	raven52	Male	Philippines	2013-12-01 01:43:00

I tend to disagree with most all of my fellow Vj'ers.,.,no, initially, you do not need any help, if you just do what this site says to do.   BUT, after the K-1, (Philippines) we got a very reputible agency, and the paperwork after the nVC sends your paperwork to the embassy, can be very tricky.  Like here in the Phils..,.,.,.the CFO.,.,my, now wife, almost went with only a copy of her NSO birth cert..,,,.,.which would have been rejected.,.,.just one example.,.,they also had ""inside lanes""" to getting the interview, and escorted her from Cebu to Manila, and was only a few hundred dollars.,,,...,its all in what you are confronted with, and HOW comfortable are YOU with your paperwork when you get through NVC.,.,.,.,,.,   To me.,., the few hundred was a great investment!  THEY did it ALL!	raven52	Male	Philippines	2013-12-08 01:43:00

In my opinion, this was very poor planning on your part, not following the issuance of visas in your country, yu should have know aprx. when your visa would be in processing.   Now, what is the most important thing to .,.,"YOU!"   To me.,.,.YOU are extremely lucky, to have a visa in about 3 months, as I have seen people here on this site, wait years for a visa.   What do you want, you spouse, first, or your education, first.,.,,.it is YOUR decision.   Most of the time a K-1 visa is less than 1/2 the time of an I-130!   YOU DECIDE, what is the most important to you.   If I was your to be spouse, I .,..,.personally, would be very up set with ""YOU"" for even considering delaying a K-1 visa!!   Just my opinion!	raven52	Male	Philippines	2013-12-25 02:45:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	First time k1 advice please	Me and my now wife had 30 pictures, and the officer wanted to see everyone of thos photos!  Use only boarding passes, not airline tickets, date and time the pictures, with who is in them.,.,.,.get as many with family pics. as you can.  Hotel receipts, food receipts, reantal receipts of anything while visiting.,.,..,.YOU cannot have enough evidence, and do not forget to include the hand written letters to each other, accepting the other to be ther spouse nad be together forever...,.,just read what is on this site!  Follow the K-1 guide, line by line with a cover letter on what you are sending, do it professionally, and in-depth!	raven52	Male	Philippines	2013-12-23 02:47:00

I would monitor this site all I could and keep posting with up-dates on your relationship, with the guy you went back to. Also, like the previous poster, the country this man comes from may be the highest fraud country, USCIS deals with.,.,.,but there may be some others that are close to it..,., Remember this, so MANY people want to come here.,.,.,any way they can.,.,., test him in subtle ways.,.,stretch his patience, with maybe ficticious problems.,.,.see how he reacts. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	A few questions about the K-1 process	1. This varies, as the check may clear, probably first, then your hardcopy of NOA 1. 2. In my opinion, YOU will not be approved in 20-30 days, you will be lucky to have a visa, and waiting on an interview by Thanksgiving. You might make it by Xmas, unless something dramatic happens! 3. The experts here are hee from varying places, from working for USCIS to just has a vast knowledge of the procedures, just read every day and learn. 4. I would not count on a visa to the US, while a K-1 is in progress, the reasons are too numerous to list. You will know weeks, maybe 2 months in advance of interview. 5. A true statement, it varies country to country, what you can and cannot do. 6. One thing for sure is that the packet "has not" been opened in anyway. Also, all typical paperwork in order, passport, visa, etc. And answer the questions firmly, and look the agent in the eye. Somebody went to sleep about this passport situation! As tempting as it is to satisfy, you and your family, (wheather it is husband or wife) after the grueling K-1, WHY, take a chance? My wife came from the Philippines, and our engagement party in front of 300 people, made me very conscious, of our actions, a nice gathering of the family (families) and picnic.,.,. but please, do NOT take a chance on it, is a ceremony to apease someone's family, worth maybe as much as a year with a K-1, HOW would you like to start ALL over again?
