I don't really like when the temperatures are very high, but it makes me dream to see these wonderful lanscapes! Sand, sea, trees,... so beautiful!

Sounds lovely. I hope you could share some pics.. i can only dream of visiting France while you live there. I honestly envy you. yes.gif

Your children are beautiful! And I love the crazy mom page - that's made me giggle. biggrin.gif

I do love the UK.

Here's what I'll miss:

The Peak District (just outside of Sheffield. I never tire of the views!) There are many photos in that directory - most of them were taken by me - I couldn't possible choose a favourite! England is lovely and green; there's no other country that quite comes close to the same shade of green that you'll find in fields and gardens here.

My family - of course! I don't actually see them all that often (3-4 times a year) but we're still quite close-knit. On the other hand, sometimes my family is best kept at a bit of a distance - I love chatting to them on the phone but visiting them can grow tiring after a while! I look forward to taking my parents on trips around the US, too.

The convenience of living in an inner city - England is a little too cramped, sometimes - but it's not always a bad thing! America doesn't quite get the concept of 'local' shops and a pub! It's great being able to walk into the city centre and the big entertainment complex is easily reached via the city trams. I've never needed a car here.

My friends - it's taken me years to form some very solid friendships, and I know it's going to be hard to start afresh! I have a wonderful housemate and another friend here in Sheffield I see nearly every day and I'm not looking forward to leaving them behind.

NHS - it's always been good to me, and I'll miss my free birth control and being able to get a doctor's appointment almost immediately with no additional costs incurred. Alex made an appointment the other day at his doctor's and not only does he have to wait a month for a free slot, he has to pay $75.

Food - Jaffa Cakes, decent chocolate, so many curry houses, my mother's Sunday Roasts...the list is endless! On the other hand California has eggnog and Trader Joe's.

Easy access to the rest of Europe - thanks to plenty of holiday time and cheap flights I've had plenty of opportunities to visit other European countries. My dad often takes one of us on a weekend break to a European city.

Now for some photos!

My current house. My housemate owns it, and has decorated it very nicely! It has new windows now and she's also done a tremendous amount of work in the garden.

My parents' house in my home town. smile.gif They live by the sea.

My dad and three of my brothers and sisters walking the dogs in the local woods. I love those dogs - they're so utterly stupid and completely adorable.

A clearer photo of my sister and one of my grandfathers with his legendary eyebrows.

My littlest brother and sister - they're twins, and they're so cute. luv.gif

My sister and the family cat. That's as big as he'll grow - he has a disability that restricted both his physical and mental growth - he's not quite all there. But he's as adorable as the dogs - very affectionate. smile.gif

Are you serious? including his mental growth? You cracked me up with that one laughing.gif

The peak district is simply AMAZING! It's sooo beautiful! How could you leave such a place? Ahh, LOVE luv.gif

Your brothers and sisters are all good looking and the kids are soo cute... are they all your siblings or cousins? it seems there are so many of you in the family... and your granpa, are those eyebrows real???? ohmy.gif

you are living the perfect VSC life... must be nice... if i had my chance i would give up everything at the first chance to be with the man i love... i wouldnt wait to "bask" and "stuff" the thought of the "jackpot" was intended as "fun" as such from what i read from your last posts... how would you feel if the shoe was on the other foot? and you were with CSC and watching the VSC approvals wiz by..i guess a lot of praying would make you feel better but it wouldnt make it happen any faster. mad.gif

How would you feel if you are a VSC filer and just watch other VSC filers wiz you by? And in case you are not aware, I am not approved yet... Is filing in VSC 100% assurance that all VSC filers get approved fast? Take a look at these timelines.. you can even click on the names so you can see the actual timeline.

Kenneth & Loshiel

sent I-129F : 2007-06-05
NOA1: 2007-06-08
RFE: 2008-02-21
NOA2: NONE YET

these 3 don't post much but their accounts are still active, their timelines are also recently updated due to RFE.. Now, tell these 3 couple how perfect the VSC life is and complain to them that prayers won't make CSC approval any faster.. take note, october CSC filers are getting approvals already while these so called lucky VSC filers are still waiting in limbo...

Aside from those 3 people above, there are still september VSC filers who have not been approved either, as well as october, november and december filers. Yes, there are a lot of January filers who got approved but there are still 43 of us who have not yet received approval... Will your apparent grudge towards VSC filers ensure us that we will all be approved next week? Will it be a 100% assurance that no one among us will be left behind like some of the VSC filers before us?

On a personal note, you have one son, I have two kids whom I have raised on my own without any child support from their father, not a single dime. With all the hardship I went through, I have all the reason to hate their father and teach my kids to hate him as well. That's what bitter and negative people do and I have every reason to be negative and bitter. But would that help my kids? Definitely not. So, I chose not to say anything bad about their father to them. I taught my kids to pray for their father wherever he is, I taught my kids to praise and give thanks for all the small things we have instead of complaining about the things we don't have. They were both toddlers when their father abandoned us, my youngest barely one year old that time.. now, they are 10 & 8, respectively. Both are very sweet and happy kids who are always praised by their teachers and other parents because they know how to extend help and give support to others in need. And thankfully, both have a very positive outlook in life, there's not a trace of negative effects of parent's separation in them. Both, have a good sense of humor and both can laugh out loud without care. They are my treasure and they are my living proof that I made the right choice when I set aside my bitterness and all my complains and focused on what I can positively do for my kids and all counted my small blessings instead of complaining for all the things I lack. And no, my SO did not assist me in raising my kids, I was already a single working mom when we met. And my kids are already the way they are, happy kids with laughter and humor in their eyes.

You're in Canada where English is the primary language, so your son will not have problems with that.. my kids will be facing language barrier when they get there which means a tougher adjustment period for them. You are in Canada where it just takes a few hours to get to US or your SO can freely go there for you... I am in the other side of the world where it will takes over one day of travel time (one way) to get here and cost thousands in airfare. Without adding our personal private reasons for waiting till august, tell me now who between us have more reason to complain? Do you think I also don't want them to be in the US earlier to be able to adjust before school year starts like you want your son to?

Complain about the system if you must but pls don't ever hold grudge and be negative towards other people just because they happen to file in the faster service center, which is in fact not even an assurance that these people will really get approved any faster than you. Pls remember, it is not our fault that we filed at VSC and none of us are happy that you CSC filers have a longer waiting period than we do. I have made friends here in VJ, some of them CSC filers from previous months and it breaks my heart that they are still waiting up to now.

Now, about jokes and taking all this things lightly. My life is already full of drama since I was a kid, long-distance relationship are already full of drama, visa processing is already loaded with frustrating drama... what helped me in my own personal struggles have been prayers and laughters and the same thing have sustained me and my SO's relationship... well, prayers may not have helped me get the fastest approval but it did help me wait for the right time with a more joyful heart... and yes, prayers do make me feel better always, especially since there is really nothing we can do here but pray for each other.

this won't help you get noa2 tomorrow or next week but I am still hoping and praying we will see movement among CSC filers. It honestly adds to my joy to see my friends names moving up Igor's list.

God speed.

Why? Do you expect me to tell you all our personal reasons why we have to leave by August and not earlier? Do you honestly believe that we would intentionally wait till august without a valid reason? I would give my arms and legs to be with him again even for just one day.. how much more a lifetime?! It's not all "bask" and "stuff" dear, we have deeper and more serious reasons which you are not entitled to know.

And if you think your negative and hateful comment can turn me into a negative person like you. I'm sorry to disappoint you, I have been through a lot in my life already and the only reason I am still surviving is because I chose to stay positive and not let my trials get me down, and you definitely won't be a reason for me to start loving misery now.

Being negative won't help anybody, that will only foster frustration more, and I believe Blake wanted to help other's combat those frustrations in a positive way by positive interaction with others on the same boat. And if having a positive outlook is really hard for you, pls do give blakes thread the respect it deserves because so far, Blake and other wonderful people in this thread have managed to keep it as positive as possible, in case you haven't noticed.

Goood luck on your journey.

I hope you're prayers come true. I've got some distinct time pressures - particularly for Olga's 6 year old son who will need to be starting school in September. Can you believe that I'm going to a school registration meeting on March 13? In a perfect world I would have filed at the VSC, been approved in 45 days, had Olga and her son here by June 1, so that he might have an easier transition into his new language and home. But..... well you know that story laughing.gif

I believe in working late - ok staying at the office late - going home, reading a few pages of a book and having a nice single malt. Keeping busy is my key, not necessarily productive. Where I am dbears, there is no sun to bask in - lots o snow, so I hope yuo enjoy the days you have under the palm trees. I have always said that life can't really be all bad when you can look out your window at a palm tree.

Are all schools in the US need to have very early registration? Ricky & I have been assuming that would still be July or August... Our school year here starts june and ends in March. I would still be enrolling my kids for june and july so they will have something to do while waiting to go there and also for them to be able to say goodbye to their friends in school.

Philippines is a tropical country and everytime Rick and I talk about the weather temperature in N.C. it just make me wonder how I am ever gonna get use to it... i'd probably be wearing jacket and thick pants when all other people around me are wearing sleevesless and shorts. My kids will get use to it fast, they cant sleep without the aircon in their room turned full blast while me, i can't stand the cold.

nope, I'm still at work. but that's ok. Basicall now, I have to wait half an hour for the application to do its job, then I can update a few things and then I can go back home.
So while waiting, i'm making lists of what I'll need at the interview at the embassy. At least I'm doing something productive.

And about the "wishful thinking", they did it in January, I'm sure they will do it again soon wink.gif
There ya go! My Olga is very very busy and has little time to chase forms around so I (Mr. Organized) have been parceling out small tasks to do to help her get this done. This last month the only job was to find the translator in her city that could "officially" translate her documents. This month it'll be filling in the forms (except for the A#), then its getting the police report, birth certificates, etc. ordered, then translated, blah, blah, blah. The idea being that when the NVC sends the paperwork to Kiev we'll be all organized and ready to set the interview at the earliest possible moment. Not sure we'd know what to do if we'd filed at the VSC and been approved in 50 days laughing.gif

We have only prepared the basic papers. Ricky, have not even filed for tax return yet.. i guess he is more busy painting the house, probably making sure there is no other area left for me to paint except the roof blink.gif ...

Whether, I get the visa earlier or not, my scheduled flight to US is still early or mid August, just in time for my kids to be able to start school and also enough time for the k1 visa to be valid till the wedding on Oct. 3. Some of you CSC January filers might even be with your SO's earlier than me... but I'm not really rushing, I still want to bask in the sun here and eat all the Filipino foods that will not be available there in the US. I'm stuffing up and exercising at the same time, but with the rate my hips and waist are expanding, i guess I am stuffing myself faster than I am exercising laughing.gif .

I'm hoping and praying there will be more movement at CSC before the week ends.

Well, I've already ordered and received spare copies of my birth certificate (long form). I've not sent off for my police certificate yet, but then the new ones are only valid for 6 months, so I'd rather do it nearer the time. However, I ordered a bank statement and a provisional driving license (I need to book actual lessons) to prove where I currently live.

My next step is to start selling off/giving away my possessions!

Rachel, i hope you won't start selling or giving off your stuffs yet till after interview...

Pls. read this case http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=1605773

With all the waiting involved I've been thinking about ways not to let either myself or Olha to get depressed about all this. I want to redocorate the house - paint, drapes, new carpeting, and all that. Initially I was thinking that it would be good to do all these things before she arrived. I'm starting to think, however, that perhaps that is not such a good idea. I think having her spend time thinking about what she'd like to do, planning how she'd like things to look, and then actually working side by side with me to get it done, will not only give us both something to distract us for the next 6 months, but also give her that sense of immediate contribution to our new "family" when she is here. Once the fun of planning the decorating wears off, my next step is to encourage her to start shopping for her wedding dress, that should extend the good mood for at least another 45 days. laughing.gif

Anybody have any other ideas on how to help our SO's get through this as well?

My big bear asked about good color for the kitchen the other night... though I keep telling him I want to be able to help with the painting when i get there and the only thing he said was, "i will surely leave some for you to paint..."... i do hope he was not thinking of making me paint the roof blink.gif

For myself, I know it is difficult to empathize with a January filer who voicing impatience with a process that is so much shorter than the one I am facing - it may not be "fair" that our processing times are so different, but its also not fair to rain on their parade or dismiss the concerns of the VSC filers.
I'm not a January CSC filer, I'm a February...but I just had to put in my props to you for starting this thread. I keep feeling guilty when a VSC person complains about their timeline and I have to work hard to muster up sympathy. I don't begrudge them their fast timelines, I wish I could have one...but I know that I'm looking at two or three times their wait.

Now, I could empathize with what your feeling, i would probably be feeling the same way had we filed at CSC. I hope and pray that CSC will be able to clear all october filers and be able to kick in approvals for november, december, january and february soonest.

Wish all of you CSC filers a faster approval than what is normal with CSC.

It seems like everyone around us is getting approved from Vermont EXCEPT us. It would be so totally awesome if my fiance could get here before the summer. As of now I have no childcare for July and August, and that would solve a huge problem! But no... we wwill be one of those January filers whose applications go into limbo for months and months and months... I just know it sad.gif

Can you consolidate the January VSC filers too? I wanted to do it but I am afraid to see the list shrinking and shrinking and then I'd be the only one left.

While it may be true that VSC approval is so much faster than CSC, waiting for a VSC approval feels like waiting and hoping and praying that my lottery ticket hits the jackpot. Every draw bring your hopes up and then when the day is over, your hopes just come crashing to the ground... then another drawing day comes and it gets your hopes up again... this is what makes the process so frustrating. I don't feel bad for myself, I feel bad for VSC filers who have filed before me with no approval yet and to all CSC filers still waiting for NOA2.

But in spite and despite of everything, I am still holding on to God's promise that everything will be made perfect in His own time.... God is never too early nor too late.. He is always RIGHT ON TIME! happy.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI'm self employed, how do i put it in G-325A?
Hello again. I need help with employment history in form g-325A. Here's my overlapping work history:

1.I have a business which have been running since 2000.

2. I then worked for a multinational pharmaceutical company from 2001-2003 while still maintaining my business on the side.

3. and then i was with Prulife U.K., an insurance company from March 2004 till October 2004.

4. I went back to schooling and to complete necessary subject units for Professional Teacher's board here in the Philippines. Since I was already a business course graduate, it only took me 1 semester to finish the necessary requirement to be able to take the licensure exam for teachers here. it was from November 2004- March 2005... so at this period I was unemployed but still running a small business.

5. I was with Generali Pilipinas (another insurance company) from September 2005- May 2006, while still running a small business on the side.

6. After May 2006, I have focused and derived income solely from business.

*note: I was an underwriter for the two insurance companies and underwriters are not considered employees of the insurance company... we were merely agents doing business with them and for them.

Questions:
1. How should I write my business as my employment? should i just put in "self-employed" and jot down my business address? or should i put in the registered business name?

2. Should i include my short career as underwriter for the 2 different insurance companies in my employment history or should i just omit it? it will cause overlapping in my work/employment history:(

any advice you could offer will be greatly appreciated.

Anybody know how long it takes for a person in the philippines to get their passport??

Hello they have 3 days 750peso and 5 days 500peso.

The above stetement is applicable for passport renewal only.

This is for the New passport applications:

(14 working Days) = P 500.00 - 44 pages

(7 working days) = P 750.00

It will cost you from 1000 - 1500 if you use the service of a travel agency

for requirements and more info: http://www.dfa.gov.p...assport-eng.htm

Note: These time frame are based on Metro Manila Are, processing times on regional areas are longer.

passport renewal and first time passport application fees are the same. I just applied for my passport renewal and also filed 2 1st time passport application for my daughter and my son just Monday, last week.

but you are correct there. processing time in regional areas are really longer coz they still have to send it to manila for printing.. that's due to the newly implemented machine readable passport system and the surge in the number of applicants.

" Applicants who apply for regular processing can get their passports after 25 working days while those who apply for expedited processing can get their passports after 15 working days. Once the flow has normalized, the processing time will be reduced accordingly."

I also saw 1,250 or 1,500 (just check this part out at DFA office) something written as the 3rd payment option there at the DFA office itself for super expedited passport release.. 3 or 7 days under the new system.. (again, check with your regional DFA office for the accurate number of days)

Under the new machine readable passport system, everybody, whether those renewing or first time applicants have to be there coz there are tons of finger printing done... if you get a travel agent, the only thing they can do is wait in line on your behalf. (at least you wont have to wake up very very very early)

Hello they have 3 days 750peso and 5 days 500peso.

I recently applied for passport renewal for myself and applied also for my 2 kids (both 1st time passport applicants) @ Davao City DFA office

processing time has changed:
500 pesos is for 25 working days (in our case it is even 26 days coz we filed january 14 and releasing date is february 19, we're not in a hurry though, so it is ok blush.gif ) and this is for 32 pages, not the 44pages that is stated on the DFA website

750pesos for 14 working days

and 1000+ pesos something for the expedited processing, i forgot the exact amount nor the exact processing days for this one

but then again maybe this is just the case in Davao. To be sure, just let your fiancee call the DFA office in her area. The Philippine DFA website doesn't offer a comprehensive guide on rate and processing time:(

i have a friend that he applied for the K1 visa with an american woman and they sent his application for the further review and it is more than a yearnow and it is still reviewing and no answer yet now to the point that he stops feelings for her and he met someone else the question is can this person get married and apply as K3 or CR1 with the second woman he met , this second woman she come to visit him more than 7 times and they have alot of proves because of seeing each other that alot.

any advice would be very appriciated.

won't this send off red flags? he was engaged to an american and was petitioned under k1 and since petition was taking too long, he found another woman -- another american woman at that???-- and now, since a k1 didn't work out, another visa option is being considered in his case-- the k3!... the woman visited 7times in a span of one year.... all those times, the k1 petition was still under review, hmmmm... if i were the one reviewing this case, these stuff would really raise questions as to the true motive and intent of the beneficiary, BIG TIME!

I agree with steve's girl, your friend should break off his engagement with the previous petitioner first.. and inform the new girl of the existance of the other fiancee (and all the circumstances surrounding that prior engagement, including petition filed for him), if she is not yet aware of it.

Yes, everyone is different and books should not be judged by the cover. What shocked me was the quickness you moved from engaged to, "Oh what the fuk, NEXT!" In came off worse than buying a used car.

Let me share a bit of my story. In 2005, my fiancée changed her mind right before the interview. This was after an almost two year relationship. She flat out told me, "I can't do it." She even made the suggestion, "Maybe you should find different woman." But, rather than give up and holler NEXT! I examined the situation. I flew to her at my nearest convenience. I discovered a woman very frightened. Scared of such a big move and lacking needed support from her family. I found a woman very much in love with me but requiring more time to do this right. A woman that never meant those words, "Find another". A woman concerned I would not understand her life situation. I told her, it's okay. It will be all right. Rather than give up, I saw a challenge. I asked her to tell me how I could help. She only said, "TIME". After a year more, I decided to take a more aggressive approach. I chose to give up everything here and live with her in Russia. We used that period to be a true family and not the typical visiting tourist that many can only do. I lived with her like a Russian. I even managed to fool many who never suspected me as being an American. After another year, we both decided that life would be better in America than struggling to live in Russia. Thus, I returned and, began her paperwork for the second time. Now she completely looks forward to arriving here and has full support of her family. I gave everyone time to know me and witness our love at work. She has had too many men in her life that wanted too much too soon and gave up on her. She wants a man for life and another short term superficial individual. Fighting for her, if you will, was exactly what she wanted.

I don't know your exact situation and we are all different. For me, quitting was never an acceptable option.

good.gif good.gif good.gif KUDOS TO YOU!!! i am like your girl in some way but i never tried ending my relationship with my man.. i was just did so many dilly-dallying to prolong the inevitability of going to america... i love my guy so much but all the horror stories of kids firing guns at their classmates in schools and those scantily clad teenagers in hollywood movies and MTV, and those stories of abductions right across the victims house just terrifies me... and although there are stories of terrorism here in the philippines, at least we have not heard of children firing guns in schools yet.. i have two kids and i am just frightened for them and i also don't want them to grow up like those MTV teeners...

my fiance had to assure me over and over again. he visited here twice, then he kept sending me pictures from his family where kids from different race have been adopted by one of his cousin and pictures of his hometown during fairs, showing people dressed in just the same way people here dress, not like MTV people at all whistling.gif .. and also it helped that i started communicating with his mom and his daughter.

we've known each other since 2005, got engaged june 2007 and we are just about ready to send in K1 application this coming wednesday... why it took so long,, that was thanks to me wacko.gif ... i am very proud and thankful for my guy for never giving up on me and i love him and respect him so much more because of that...

"A remarriage has one of the same partners who were present in your last marriage. Most people don’t take the time to evaluate WHAT went wrong. They just assume the problem was the WHO. Unfortunately that’s not the case. It’s important to look at what happened to cause the marriage to deteriorate. While it’s tempting to assume that your ex-spouse was the problem, they weren’t 100% responsible. Without taking time to look at YOUR part in the marriage’s demise, you are destined to repeat the similar, if not the same, mistakes."

i am one of those who threw the stone. i know didn't have the right. so, i am sorry if i was judgmental.

i got that quote on one of the remarriage site my fiance and i frequents to help us in our journey... he's been married in the past and i have been in a common law union several years ago so there is indeed a great need for us to be prepared for our upcoming marriage... we both love each other so much and we are doing everything we could to make it work even before it starts.. even if it meant agonizing long period of waiting.

i know that quote is about remarriage issue and remarriage may not apply to you yet.. but i think the concept here applies to anybody who is or has been in a serious romantic relationship... much more to those who have been engaged.

i agree with those who said you should take time out for yourself.. to ponder and to heal.. going to the philippines and meeting this filipina in just a few months after you got to know her.. and just after your engagement ended will only cloud your better judgment... talk with her if you want to but don't do it thinking "this might be it or she could be the one" right off... give it some time and you will be grateful that you did... we all need and want to love and be loved in return.. but pls don't allow yourself to be in love with the IDEA of being in love... aim for the real thing.

if you can take time, try reading some of the sad stories on the "effects of major family changes on immigration benefits" forum.. who knows you might learn something from their stories... and it might help you evaluate things better.

good luck to you. And God bless.

what i read is that you're already in touch with another women from another country... maybe its the reason the ukrainan women left you. No?

This is the reason that it takes so long for Fiancee and marriage visas, and why USCIS looks at all of us with a jaundiced eye.

I havent been on the boards for some time and the first post I read is yours, it is no wonder the US immigration system is so backed up.

I am not going to even dignify your question with a real answer, my only comment is that shopping for a wife like you would a used car is wrong and is the exact reason there are restrictions on the number of filings you can submit.

I consider your attitude toward all this an insult to those of us who have had to endure the agonizing separation from our loved ones, and have REAL relationship,

i couldn't agree more! this guy should be left hanging upside down in a tree full of big red ants until he comes to his senses.

Thanks all that answered my last question. We had the interview set up for tomorrow (the 28th) and last tuesday she ended our relationship. My question is... Can I file a new application for a different woman right away? or is there a waiting period? I started to write to a woman in the phillipines instead of the Ukraine, and I will probably go over there in the begining of april to meet her if it works out. Please let me know if there is some amount of time that must pass by, so that I can let her know if we feel that our relationship is headding that way. thanks again for the help last time!
jerome

you had a pending application for a ukrainian woman, meaning you were engaged to her until last tuesday when she supposedly ended the relationship? ... i would assume you meant last tuesday as jan 22nd... barely one week ago... and you are now thinking of filing for another woman from the philippines whom you have been corresponding with for how long?.. you were actively talking with another girl while being engaged blink.gif ?.... gosh, are you sure the ukrainian woman didn't end the relationship just becoz she found out you were communicating with another woman, I don't think she will end an engagement without any valid reason. If I were in the ukrainian woman's shoes and this is the case i'd surely drop you off and thank God for saving me the pain of getting married to man who don't know the meaning of faithfulness and honesty. I'm sorry if i sound judgmental but i just can't stomach cheaters in any way.

i hope the filipina woman would also know about the Ukrainian woman right off and if she have any sense at all, she will also question your honesty and will immediately run for the nearest exit. i hope karma won't catch up with you soon becoz what goes around always comes around...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDocument Verification Help Needed
QUOTE (aynaku05bf @ Feb 4 2008, 08:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello All,
Four weeks have now gone by since my fiancee's interview at USE Manila, for K-1 Visa. I flew to the Philippines from NY to be with her and went to the interview with her. The Consul told us that everything looked good, however, document(s) needed to be verified (wouldn't tell us what document(s)) and it would take 2-3 weeks to do. I paid DELBROS P650 for this procedure and another P165 delivery fee for when the Visa is issued. When I asked the girl at DELBROS how long it would take, she said 6 weeks. Both my fiancee and I have called the Visa Call Ctr to try and get some updates on this matter, all we get from whoever we speak to is "It is still being processed." I have both my lawyer & Congresswoman trying to get some info. however, they get the same answer. My last call was this past Friday (Feb. 1) and I was told that it normally takes 6 weeks from the time of the interview and if we didn't hear from the USE by Feb. 15 to call back on Feb. 18 and they will begin a follw-up. Can someone give me a phone number for the USE in Manila that I can call to see if I can get any information from them? This waiting and not knowing what is happening is very frustrating for the both of us. We want this matter to be cleared up as soon as possible so that she can join me here in NY and we can get married. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Pls repost this on regional forum: philippines... there's more people there who can explain everything about document verification in the philippines.

3. the CRBA would have to be done ater the birth of the child. http://manila.usemba...v/wwwha003.html
since you are not married to the father, I do not believe the child could have the father's last name. under Philippine Family Law, the child would have your last name.

as suggested by pushbrk, I would also post your questions in the Philippine Forum. you should get more answers to your question there.

the family code has been amended on July 28, 2003 under RA 9255 thereby giving illegitimate children the right to use their father's surname. pls click HERE to read the full provision of the family code amendment.

Did anyone here actually send out a I-129F prior to asking or getting asked by thier significant other to marry them. That seems strange and even stranger when you think that two people have to have that conversation... "well if you ask me one day to marry or if I ask you lets fill out this paperwork so things will be quicker" who does that?

Come to think of it, i think i saw one signature timeline where the date of I-129F filing was so much earlier than the date of proposal... which means he filed for petition before asking his girl to marry him... well, it turned out, the foreign fiancee ended up canceling her embassy interview. whistling.gif

Do any of you ever wonder how it is that you are in the position that you are at the mercy of your Government regarding your marriage? Maybe if everyone had to go through a similar process our divorce rate wouldn't be so high.

As most people have said in the previous post, it has been our choice from the start. And as my guy always say, every hardship we've gone through and still going through, all the loneliness and separation will be all worth it in the end.

This separation and nerve-wracking waiting for visa is simply strengthening our LOVE and COMMITMENT for each other! We're almost 3 years in this long distance relationship, what is another 6-9 months waiting compared to the PROMISE OF A LIFETIME! luv.gif

As the saying goes: How can you truly appreciate happiness when you have never experienced sadness and loneliness!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat should he do???
We have a saying here in the Philippines that goes: "Ang pag-aasawa ay hindi parang kaning isusubo na pwedeng iluwa kapag ikaw ay napaso." (Marriage is not like rice which you can easily spit out if you get singed).

I've taken this saying to heart since after my relationship with my first bf ended (it left me with 2 kids by the way so i have deeper reasons to be more sensible). It took me almost 8years to finally decide to get married... and not without thinking and pondering about it for a million times. But even so, there are still so many advises (solicited and otherwise) that i get from people who are genuinely concern about me and from those who just want to shove their opinions down my throat.

My point is: he could get millions of advises/advices from other people but in the end it should come down to how he really feels toward the girl... if there is even an ounce of doubt, he should check where it is coming from first before taking any course of action.

Is it possible for him to get a marriage licence with someone else even if he has one with his girlfriend ?
Duuuuuuuuuude. whistling.gif

You mean he's having second thoughts, or the girlfriend is? Either way, even assuming he met this other girl on the plane ride over here, they'd have known each other for a max of 90 days before the wedding -- not nearly enough, especially if he's given to rash decisions like this.

I don't know the chapter-and-verse from the USCIS manual on this, but I'd have to believe that the other posters are right. Otherwise you get sad scenarios like the one girl who emailed me years ago to tell me "I'm coming to US to see a friend, want to get together?" who subsequently cancelled that plan after her "friend" proposed to her and married her while she was on that trip. Sounds like she had one trip here and wanted to marry anyone who'd be willing to keep her here =(

now, that's stinking sad:huh2:

My fiance hasnt rcvd her passport yet. Her medical appt is feb 25. Does anyone know how the embassy would handle it if her medical results were not ready yet.. Would she go ahead and go to the interview? or will the embassy re-set the visa interview appointment?
Try to follow up with DFA, it usually takes 7-10 days of the passport issuace upon application. If she doesn't get it soon, you might need to request a re-schedule of interview which will take 2-3months depending on the availability. SLEC will also need her passport for the medical process...

This may be so in Manila but in the regional offices, it takes 25days for regular processing and 15 days for expedited processing (SUPPOSEDLY) due to the newly implemented machine readable passport. I don't know in Cebu but in Davao it is even taking so much longer than that. I applied for a passport Jan. 14 and i still don't have my passport till now... A member in our church have applied 1st week of January, they were supposed to get it last week but they were told to comeback on February 25 because, according to DFA Davao-RCO there have been problems in the printing of passports in Manila.

I think fastest recourse for passport is to apply in directly in Manila DFA office but I would assume your fiancee already applied for her passport. Did she apply in Cebu? When is her passport due to be out? Maybe you can ask the DFA Cebu-RCO if there is a way for her to pick up her passport directly in Manila.... just a thought.

I wish you both all the best and I hope this will be sorted out in time.

If your fiancee was and is still a Filipino citizen then the divorce she obtained in hongkong will not be honored in the Philippines. Being a Filipino citizen, she still needs to follow the Family Code of the Philippines with regards to dissolution of marriage... and we don't have divorce in the Philippines, only annulment, a much longer and tedious process compared to divorce.
