K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPolice certificate issues
QUOTE (danvil101 @ Nov 2 2009, 09:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi. My wife (a US citizen) has filed a petition for me for an immigrant visa. She's currently on the process of filing the AOS and on my part, I am preparing all the documents requirements.

I am a Filipino citizen who is now working here in Saudi Arabia for almost 5 years. Also we decided to process the visa application here in Saudi Arabia. As per the requirement, I need to obtain a police certificate for the locality where i lived for more than 6 months.

My questions are:
1. Do I need to obtain both NBI clearance from Philippines & police clearance here in Saudi Arabia?
2. In obtaining police certificate in Saudi Arabia, do I still need to make an appointment to the nearest US consulate in requesting the letter for police clearance or I can just walk-in to the consulate?

For those who have been into the same situation, please help. The nearest consulate is about 100km from where I lived so I need to be sure with the requirements first before going to them. Thank you.

Hi. I am also processing my CR-1 visa here in Riyadh embassy thru DCF.

I'll try to share my personal experience to you. To answer your queries:
Q1. Yes, you need to obtain both NBI from Manila but you can actually go to the Philippine for the fingerprinting and filing of the form. Then, they will send this form with your fingerprints to Manila. It will help if you kept your old NBI clearance, in that case it will be renewal.
Q2. You also need to obtain Saudi Police Clearance Certificate. You can just go to the US Embassy (no need for appointment) for the Request Form which you will need to be carry with you to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for attestation. Don't forget to bring your passport to the embassy. From there, you will proceed to Deerah Police Station for fingerprinting. It'll take 1 week for the issuance of your clearance.

Hope this will help. Goodluck!

helpsmilie.gif Hello fellow VJers,

My husband is a USC and I'm from the Philippines but currently residing in Saudi Arabia were we both work. We filed for CR-1 under DCF. My husband and I are organizing our documents in preparation for the next step which is the Interview. I just want to ask you guys about the additional evidence for the Affidavit of Support. My husband needs to submit his Federal Income tax return copy or transcript. Since he is overseas, he is using TURBOTAX w/c is an electronic filing. We just printed copies of tax return from his TURBOTAX account. When I asked the embassy officer last time about it, he said it's ok to use it. I just need reassurance from anyone about this issue. Do you think it's acceptable to use the print out as evidence? If not, then we have to acquire a copy from US IRS. Thanks and I appreciate any input... Goodluck to you all! good.gif

I am flattered. The consulate tells you it is OK and you want to hear from us...just to be sure. laughing.gif

Yes it is OK, but you need to attach his w-2s to tax return copies, you do not need to attach them to transcripts you get from the IRS.

Thanks, Gary and Alla for taking time to reply. It was a big help. Well, as much as I'd like to trust the consulate people completely, I can't help but doubt them at times. unsure.gif
My husband (petitioner) is working overseas as contract worker for a private company, so he can't provide W-2 but I'll just bring his pay slips as evidence... Thanks a lot and Goodluck to you both... innocent.gif

Middle East and North AfricaJanuary Interview at US Embassy-Riyadh
QUOTE (Lancelotte25 @ Dec 18 2009, 02:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello guys, anyone from Saudi Arabia who will be having an interview in January? whistling.gif

Thanks!!

Hi, Lancelotte25... If you remember me, I am from Riyadh. I was scheduled for Dec. 1, 2009, but then that fell on Eid holiday so I requested it to be rescheduled after Jan. 6, 2010. I chose to delay it since my husband will travel to US for Christmas and won't be back until Jan. 6, 2010 and wanted to be here for my interview. My interview is set for Jan. 17, 2010 at 1:30 PM.

By the way, did you contact the US Embassy re your schedule for interview to be reset to an earlier date? They seem very accomodating and don't see why they won't help you.

Goodluck to you and God bless.

Please keep on posting updates of your journey... Goodluck and God bless!!! By the way, when do u plan to travel to US and what's your Port of Entry?

Desert Princess

I just had my interview yesterday and it seemed to be fine. ^_^

Here's my story. The Indian prescreener took my fingerprints, my passport, medical results, & our photos together. Ask few questions like, who petitioned me, the date of our marriage, where she lives, who are in the photos, where was the photo taken, what is my job here, how much is my salary. Then he asked me to go back to seat and wait for the CO to call me.

After about an hour an a half, the CO called my name. He verified my fingerprints, then ask me to sign under oath the part II of the DS-230. Then he started to ask me questions like, what is my wife's name, how old is she, where she lives, how long have she been there, what is her job, how did she get to the US, if she has any relatives in the US. :reading: He also ask me what is my job here, if what job am i going to take once I get to the US, if i applied for any job in the US already, if I have any relatives in US. He also asked how did we meet, when did we get married, how long we've been staying together, when was the last time we're together, do we have any children, or been married before.

So far that were the questions I can remember that the consul asked me. It took us about 10 minutes in the interview. He finally asked, if my visa will be approved when am I planning to go to the US? After that he took a purple card with a serial no. & a text "pickup passport date" then he stamped the date January 30, 2010. Then he told me to go back to seat & wait for my name to be called. After a minute, the prescreener called my name, give me the purple slip then asked me to go to fedex and return back the air waybill.

Not like the other vj'ers, I never heard the magic word, "Congratulations!" or "approved" from the consul. Then when I returned back the air waybill, I asked the prescreener if I'm approved. He just said "Yes!". ..then I went home.

That's all I can share for now. I am hoping that my visa will be delivered very soon. I just can't wait to be with my ONE GREAT LOVE!

Goodluck to all those with upcoming interviews! Just keep praying...and it will all turn out fine.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew Here.. Please Help?!?!??!??!?
QUOTE (Shabz @ Sep 30 2009, 07:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi,

I am new here. As all of you I am too trying to bring my Fiance here on a k-1 visa. He is in Saudi Arabia. We met online 5 and a haf years ago and then met in Kenya (the country i was born in) on July 14, 2009 and got engaged on July 20, 2009.

I have the following paper work
I-29F (signed by both me and him)
Form g-325a (signed by both me and him)
Letter of intent (both from me and him and signed)
Letter of declaration (both by me and him signed)
Passport photo (him and me)
our boarding passes, visa stamps, tickets...

Now i had a question. do i need more stuff to send them, and also. we got engaged infront of my family in kenya but it wasnt a big ceremony and my sister took a video of our engagement. so we dont have actual pictures of him putting the ring on my finger, so from the video we took snapshots and sinc eit is from a digital camera it is very blurry the pixels arent taht great. i mean you can still sort of make it out but is that ok or do i also make a cd of the video and can i send pictures of us being together with family (like random pictures) and pictures of being together. is that ok?

also do i need to send them my birth certificate or his birth certificate and since i am naturalized through a certificate i am sending them a copy of my certificate and it had said front and back but there is nothing on the back. i am also going to send a copy of my passport to be on the safe side.

what else do i need to send? am i missing anything in this packet? i still need to work on my cover letter.

please help me if you can. because we are tired of being apart and want to get this done as soon as possible. :-( :-( its really hard without him. and this site has helped me a lot so i really need advice.

Thank you and sorry for laying all this out.

Hi... First, I'd like to wish you luck on your journey... I think it's better to provide more than less... But with regards to CD of the video, I think it's not a good idea. Printed photos would be better taken during the ceremony especially with the family... Goodluck and hope my contribution helped...
