United KingdomLondon interviews- February and March

Chesterfield, just south of Trenton. You?

I am from Southern New Jersey, right outside the Atlantic City/Ocean City area. Mark will be flying into Philadelphia in May.

So close that you finally Americanized those dates in your signature. Well done. :star:
Less than 2 weeks until *D-day. Got your AOS paperwork filled out yet? I have a list for that.

On the subject of interviews. My husband's only interview was the K1 London in July 2008. May you all be so lucky that you don't interview again for a long time. He got an appointment letter Monday. (Yep, still waiting on USCIS years later.) He interviews for American citizenship on April 26.

Is your list for AOS the same one as the guide on this site? I'm going to be leaving for the States in May, do you think we should start getting stuff prepared now?

United KingdomLondon 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread
Hi all,

I had my interview the same day as Dan on Wednesday and reading his review I was the number right after him. I have posted my review on my timeline for anyone that is interested.

I have to agree with what Dan & Nich-Nick have been already said, I wasn't asked for any further evidence of support or letter of intent to marry. I also wish I'd taken a book to ready, it was a very long wait from first being called to take my necessary documents to the actual interview.

Nich-Nick, I also had the Chinese woman at window 1, I don't recall hearing any N numbers being called to her window either just the I's

The only question that threw me during the interview was the last one which was what was one of the proudest things I have done in the United Kingdom?? I'm not really sure why he asked this, I was totally thrown I said supporting my local football team St Mirren! In hindsight I would of said graduating from University but it was the first thing that came into my head

yes the letter is what is referred to as packet 3.

when filling out the forms ignore what they say about attaching a photo and any other documents... just return the forms and nothing else.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPackage from London
Hi Everyone,

We have received our etter from the London embassy directing us to a link online and telling my finance to fill out the first 4 initial forms. Is this letter in place of the physical package 3 that I have heard about regularly during the process. I find this part of the process to be more difficult than actually preparing the petition was!! Frustrated, but we are almost to the end...I think!!

Thanks!

A solid tax return is an easy way to prove income, but in your case doesn't prove your current income. For London, you don't even need a tax return at all. Not required. Just prove your income with an employer letter and recent pay stubs and you will be fine.

Later for AOS you will do an I-864 and will give info from 3 years of tax returns on the form or a reason why you didn't have to file. You will submit just the latest tax return. Previous two are optional if they will make you look good. Maybe 5 years ago, 3 returns were required, but that was amended to only the latest year for the I-864.

Thank you!

Hi Everyone,

I am gathering the supporting material for my I-134 for my fiance to take to his interview in London. I am just curious as why I keep reading that you need to provide your last three taxes with the I-134, when the instructions for the I-134 state nothing of that nature, unless self employed (which I'm not).

From the Instructions for I-134:

Supporting Evidence

Submit in Duplicate evidence of income and resources, as appropriate:
A. Statement from an office of the bank or other financial institution with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account:
1. Date account opened
2. Total amount deposited for the past year; and
3. Present balance

B. Statement(s) from your employer on business stationery showing:
1. Date and nature of employment
2. Salary paid; and
3. Whether the position is temporary or permenant

C. If self-employed (which I'm not):
1. Copy of income tax return; or
2. Report of commercial rating concern.

D. List containing serial numbers and documentation of bonds and name of record owner(s).

The only place tax return is mentioned is if self-employed. So, from my understanding, since I'm not self-employed I do not need them, but they are mentioned in many of the other posts? Am I correct in assuming this? The only reason I ask is because my reflected income does not meet the standards of poverty on my returns. Shortly after submitting our petition, I finished graduate school. I am now in a new position making well over what I did in my most recent position and exceeding the 125% mark. I have a letter from my employer stating my current salary, which I've listed on the I-134 form itself. Will this be enough proof, along with my letter from the bank and a list of my bonds and not my tax returns...being that that's all that's asked for?

Thanks,
Lisa

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 packet
You don't need your tax returns for the petition. Actually, you don't need any financial supporting documents for the 129f. My advice follow exactly what the instructions say to submit. you will need financial materials when preparing the affidavit of support (i134) and the i864 after the K1 process. Just read the instructions carefully and you will know exactly what you need to prepare in your packet.
