ChinaIS that possible to mail the packet 3 to Guangzhou before we receive it?
innocent.gif ok, I guess this is a funny question. Because I read some people's comments on K1- timeline, which says the packet 3 was mailed to Guangzhou ahead of the P3 arrival. Not sure if that's an option, my case is already sent to Guangzhou, is that ok to mail in the packet 3 forms since I can simply download those forms on line?
Thanks

Chinahow to contact Guangzhou Consulate
Hi, I am one of the July filers. It's almost 3months since the packet left NVC. I wrote an email to Guangzhou consulate but the response is really disappointed, just like formal information on the web site saying it will take a few months.
The phone number is always busy!
So I hope someone can tell me how to contact them from US?
Thanks so much.

I thought you need to provide the birth certificate copy for the K-1 visa filing. Anyway, here is how I got my own certificate.
The shanghai notary office will provide the certificate and translation.

Hi, would someone help me with this? My fiance is waiting for interview at Guangzhou consulate for K1 visa however he does not have a birth certificate. He never received a birth certificate. Would there be any problems at the interview? What can he do? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hello everybody, as you can see in the title, I am your China Visa Guide now!!
I found this forum by random search on google. if you have any question, please ask!!

Ok,

I'd like to attend the interview with my wife at the Embassy. Do I need to make any special arrangements to do that?

haha, somehow it feels like you are testing me or something.
but before I answer you, can you be a little more specific about your question.
you are going to the China Embassy in the U.S?
Or you are going to The U.S Embassy in P.R.C?

Sorry about the delay I was too busying with other stuff.
Though I can just come here at least once a day and check everything out.

Worse, I was baiting you.

My wife has already arrived from China on a K3 visa as anyone can clearly see from my timeline. Furthermore, neither the China Embassy in the US or the US Embassy in China conducts interviews related to fiance or spouse related visas for Chinese Citizens to come to the USA.

All CR1 and K visas for PRC Citizens are applied for at the US Consulate in Guangzhou. All interviews for those visas are held in Guangzhou as well. The US Citizen Petitioners are not allowed to attend the interviews.

Why do you think you can be of assistance, if you aren't aware of these simple facts?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow to trace the package left from NVC?
Thanks a lot for all your help. good.gif I found the package number on DHL.
There are some countries missing, such as China, (there are 100words missing talking about how hard we tried to search the missing numbers, it totally reminds me National Treasure or Davinchi Code )
Finally, my honey said there is a simple way, just type this "EXP 16 JAN 2008B" to the search by reference. Now we found several pakages.
The one heading to China is still on Clearance Delay. There are 4 pieces and weight 74lbs.
Hope this will help other people to save some time!!!

ChinaHow do I end the K-1 process
I am a Chinese woman, I lived my whole life in China, I want say something about Chinese woman as a response to justashooter.

From shooter’s post I find it’s obvious you and your Chinese woman are fighting very hard for POWER, you are not happy about this. It’s good to realize there is something wrong, and more importantly is to think about why and how to make it better.

By making simple conclusion like: "chinese women like their man to be "in charge", these comments valid for most chinese women." Firstly it doesn’t help your relationship, because you are not facing the real problem you both have, secondly, it’s not fair and sounds offensive to make statement like that in a public forum.

Chinese woman does wish their man/husband having a good job, they want to look good in front of their friends and family, but the way you look at it is too extreme, be fair and honest, I never seen a woman prefer a looser. And if a man could choose, he wouldn’t marry a woman who is lazy, doesn’t have a job and doesn’t have ability to survive. It’s not problem with Chinese woman, it’s common with human beings. Back to Chinese woman, chinese woman are serious and loyalty to relationship and willing to support her partner the best way they could, a Chinese will always help their families when they need, it comes from the family oriented culture, after married, you are family too.

An old Chinese saying says gentleman wouldn’t argue with people in different opinions, argument will only lead to another argument; it never bring you the solution. I hope you wouldn’t see my response as a bullet but as an advice of looking at things in a different way. I hope you could figure out your relationship from deep inside, complaining all Chinese women here will certainly not help you but pushing you away from the real problems, wish eventually you could find a solution and be happy as most people who are visiting VJ do.

Regards from China.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC customer service

I have talked to 6 different operators at NVC since 2 May and the only consistent things that I have heard them say are:

1. All we do here is assign a case number to your application and forward it to the embassy.
2. Give us a call back on Friday.

Two times I have been told that its in administrative processing and two times I have been told it isn't. I've asked twice to speak to a supervisor and have been told that "I will leave a message and have one call you", which never happened. Today I was told that a supervisor wouldn't be calling me and that they won't speak to me on the phone because they can't tell me anything about my case and when it will be sent out.

Two times I have been told that "NVC only assigns a case number and sends it to the embassy". Both times I asked the person on the phone if they were in fact NVC employees and both confirmed that they were. This morning I explained to the woman that the case number was assigned on April 29th which she confirmed to be true. I then asked her why if it has had a case number since April 29 has it not been sent out? She said she didn't know because "they" don't give her that information. I asked who "they" are and she said the people that process the approved petitions. I asked to speak to "the people that process the approved petitions" and was told that I couldn't. I asked again to speak to a supervisor and was told that they wouldn't speak to me.

I am a patient person and I have been completely courteous to everyone of the people I have spoken to at NVC. I spent 10 years serving this country so I have a pretty strong grasp of bureaucratic processing but to be honest I would be happier if NVC didn't even post a number to call because it is either useless or I'm not doing it right.

If anyone cares to comment about the goings on at NVC I'd love to hear their thoughts because the NVC employees say something very different than whats posted here on VJ about what they actually do.

Im amazed how unprofessional they are!! I have been dealing with Chinese government for a while, am never a fan of CCP, but to be honest, it is way more pleasant to deal with chinese government.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about existing valid tourist visa
Hello Kerry,

Same as your case, we applied K-1 this Oct, I used my existing tourist visa coming to the US for Christmas (in fact, as my passport got burnt in the shanghai building fire accident, I applied a new tourist visa after we submited our k1).

In Chicago border, I told the guy I'm coming to visit my fiancé, he send me to a waiting lounge... After abt 20 minutes, a guy came to me and bring me to his office, we had a talk, he asked some questions like what did you do for a living, what other countries you had been to, we ended up talking about my cambodia trip for quite a while. Just like a normal visa interview, he wished me a nice stay after the talk. At the end, I asked him for future reference of other people, i would like to know what is the official regulation for k1 applicant travelling by tourist visa, he said, it is allowed, but they would like to double check to make sure you would not use this tourist visa staying in the US forever.

Hope this helps. One more info, when we were talking he spent lots of time checking something online, I assume these guys can get access to airline booking system or other information online, i think an issued return ticket would also help.

So answer is yes, but be prepared for spending time in the waiting lounge with all sorts of "strange people" and be prepared for a further interview. Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1-How long can you wait to submit a packet 3?
I'm sad to hear this, but as a Chinese woman I understand her concern. Had she ever spend some time in the US? If not, try to get her stay with you as a real couple in the US might be helpful. Give no pressure, just ask to give you both a chance trying some real quality time as a couple living in the US, she might realize USA is just the other side of the earth, it's not that far away, people are little strange but most of them are nice. Also, you could try to make a deal that few years later, we will move to China together, so it is only few years for her. Hope that helps. Good luck to you both.

Hi Darnell,

I read your other post and understand we have no input on which way they sent out.

My next question is, if our case number is GUZ does that mean we will be sent out by DHL? GZO stands for the lucky half by SAFEFILE? Is that the case? Oh gosh, we have already got our case # GUZ.

Thanks Wuhaness

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProcess after NOA2 before P4
Hello dear VJers,

It feels so good that we have finally got our NOA2 on April 22, we are now looking forward to our interview.

We are now trying to figure out the process and learn some tips to speed it up, I want to share my research result and please let me know if there is any information not up to date or more tips you would like to share.

Step 1- Got email from USCIS, NOA2 got approved
USCIS will send the paper NOA2 - I-797 form, where you got your Alien number from (remarks: it is sending out by snail mail, normally it's super slow, but we do need it for AOS, need to keep an eye on it)

Step 2- Call NVC
603 334 0700 finding out NVC case #, confirming case has been sent to consulate (in my case it's Guangzhou), find out the NVC case # (meanwhile we will get a letter from NVC)
While P3 is on the way from NVC->Guangzhou->me, per Darnell's GUZ P3 shortcut post, I could have already sent out my P3 to Guangzhou using the NVC case # we find out through NVC hotline

Step 3- Waiting for P4 (any shortcut here, anything we can do to make it faster?)

Step 4- Receiving P4, go get a medical check, then interview

Step 1->2 around 2 weeks
Step 2->3 around 3-8 weeks
Step 4->interview around 30 days

Jane

We called NVC today and changed my address - I wasnt intended to make it complicated but since my apartment in Shanghai got burnt down after we submitted our I-129f, I dont have other choice but change the add.

Thanks for your suggestion Darnell, but GUZ didnt require a cover letter for P3? If we just make up one, I guess it doesnt hurt? RED LETTERS, good suggestion, will do la!

Brian, thanks for the prompt reply!!

Okay, this is a completely different topic. I'm working on my cover letter now and I'm very certain that both myself and my fiance have to submit the G325A (with attached passport photos). So my fiance is insisting that he doesn't have to and only I have to do this.

I need anyone/someone out there to say that we both have to submit the G325A, so that we won't waste another minute arguing over who's right.......

You need to use the Dallas Lockbox address for the initial filing. A Service center will be assigned after they receive your petition, so just use this address for now:

The USCIS Dallas Lockbox

For U.S. Postal Service:

USCIS
P.O. Box 660151
Dallas, TX 75266

For Express mail and courier deliveries:

USCIS
Attn: I-129F
2501 South State Highway 121 Business
Suite 400
Lewisville, TX 75067

SO..IM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW!!
**** NEWS FLASH****

Those of us who got out NOA2 on or after MAY 14th 2012...GUESS what our appilcations are still sitting at CSC waiting for then to compile enough to sent to NVC in new hamshire!! Outrage!!!

On May 14, 2012, my I-129F my PETITION FOR FIANCE was approved (so thats the good news!) BUT!!!!!!!!!

I still havent got a case number yet from NVC, despite my daily calls to NVC...so today I called USCIS (as its been 3 weeks and more than 15 business days) and I spoke with a supervisor after waiting for 45 minutes and we found out its still sitting at USCIS CSC office as they only send out approved petitions from time to time and they are waiting to compile enough to send out to NVC...crazy or what!!!! Not fair!!! We all wait so long to be re-united with our loved ones and our packet is sitting around still!!! They said hopefully by the end of this week it will go out to NVC..grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

So i did a little research scrolling back on this posting and

All the people who got approved just 5 days before us (like May 7.8.9,10,11)went to the NVC and got case numbers (and yes I have genuinely happy for all of you!!! :) ) around May 20-23rd exactly 2 weeks.

But those of us who got out NOA2 on or after MAY 14th 2012...GUESS what our appilcations are sitting at CSC waiting for them to "get enough applications to send all at once"

HAVENT WE WAITED LONG ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least we have each other to vent!!!

awaiting NVC case number

Hey! We're in the same boat. Our I-129F was approved on May 15 and received the I-797 a few days later stating the case will be forwarded to NVC. It's been 5 weeks, so we have been frantically calling USCIS and NVC. My fiance spoke to the supervisor's supervisor which is what you would call 3rd tier supervisory. Finally, the lady said that USCIS sends out cases in batches (just like what said people said in this forum) and our case was just forwarded to NVC on June 19 and asked us to wait a couple more days. Good grief. We are gonna keep calling NVC and USCIS next week.

The representatives that picked up our calls have different answers every time and don't know what they're talking about! Argh. So to all others out there going through the same thing, don't give up and keep calling!

Reading on all your responds kinda scared me. I've been trying to call NVC several times and they told me they couldn't find my case in their system and said they process normally in 16 business days. I called USCIS and they said if within 90 days I haven't heard anything then I can contact them back again regarding my case. I hope it won't take that long.

I would say the delay comes from USCIS, since we have been told that it now takes up to 90 days instead of the "30 days" stated in the notice. So call them every week (well, we called every day during our 5th week) and ask to speak to a supervisor/someone above the call representatives to check on your case status. Good luck!

You should get your Congressperson involved. There is no reason you should have to wait for an additional review because they made a mistake. Your petition was approved already. Don't wait on them, they don't care!

We are in the same situation. actually, many May 2012 approvals are suffering in this kind of situation. I'm just going to ask on how to ask as congress person to follow up our case. thank you and Godbless

Have you guys seen this? It may very well be the answer to your question http://www.visajourn...ost__p__5473540

We heard from a 3rd tier supervisor and were told that our case was only just forwarded to NVC on June 19. We will keep checking with NVC in the next few days.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F approved, NVC did not receive case

I am in the same situation as you. Our NOA2 was May 14th.
I have called NVC 6 times now. I have emailed them twice (with the scan of my NOA2 both times).
I got an email from NVC that they have no record of receiving my application and will contact USCIS on my behalf.

I contact USCIS 3 times, today being the latest. I demanded to talk to a manager. They forwarded me to an officer. Officer looked in her computer and said that I have already asked USCIS to research my application and by June 30, I should receive an email from them regarding the result of their research.

This week is the 5th week. I have been told by others that NVC sends these in batches and that the NVC is full of ####### and that to expect the package from NVC to suddenly appear in your physical mailbox between 5 to 6 weeks (though the NOA2 states 15 working days).

So, next week is the 6th week, and I sure do hope it finally comes. I only need an MNL number to continue with this freaking long process.

I almost want my fiancee to just emigrate to Mexico, cross the San Diego border illegally, and get Amnesty. People going through this legally are getting the major screw. But of course I will not opt for anything illegal. We all just have to suffer along this idiotic process of getting the one you love to marry in this country.

Have you received anything or heard from USCIS or NVC? First, we received an email response from USCIS saying that our case was only forwarded to NVC on June 19, 2012 (more than 4 weeks after approval date!!!). After many phone calls with USCIS, the representatives kept insisting our case was forwarded to the US consulate and not NVC. Previously, NVC already insisted that our case was not received. So my fiance kept calling USCIS because I insisted US consulate visa units will never receive cases without NVC numbers. USCIS representatives say different things every time!! My fiance then spoke with a supervisor and this person said it takes 30-90 days to forward the case to NVC. Then he was put on hold again. Wow, this situation was quite unexpected and we weren't sure what to believe now =(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F approved, NVC did not receive case
Hi everyone,

Need some input here!

Our I-129F was approved and notified by USCIS on May 16 (case processed at CSC). My fiance received the approval notice in the mail stating the next steps.

So it's been more than a month and we didn't hear from NVC. My fiance called NVC today and NVC said they did not receive our case from USCIS. Oh man. Then he called USCIS and USCIS said they'll review our case and respond in 5 days. Also, the person from NVC told my fiance on the phone that USCIS "may" have forwarded the case to the consulate (where I'm currently residing) directly. Well, I thought this was quite impossible.

Has anyone experienced such a situation before????

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInformation on form G-325A
I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. On the G-325A form, there's this section towards the end of the form "this form is submitted in connection with an application for:" where we either check Naturalization, Status as Permanent Resident or Other (Specify). So on the example forms, Other (Specify) was checked and I-129F was included. Is this applied to both the petitioner's and beneficiary's G-325A forms?

Thanks!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNotarized Documents
Potentially with the Guangzhou US consulate since I don't reside in Malaysia. I just noticed that my original birth certificate is in Malay. Do you know where I can officially translate it back in Malaysia?

There's a possibility that the Guangzhou Consulate requests for more supporting documents to prevent frauds, which brings me to my next question - Are there any of you out there (beneficiaries of other nationalities besides Chinese citizens) who interviewed at the Guangzhou consular office and submitted the "unmarried certificate?"
roseisroseFemaleMalaysia2012-01-03 21:38:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNotarized Documents
Although we haven't even received the physical NOA1 receipt in the mail yet, I'm moving way ahead now.

I was looking through the required documents that have to be notarized, such as police clearance, birth certificate, and unmarried certificate. I did a search in the forum and found that Chinese beneficiaries have to go through plenty to obtain such documents.

I'm currently residing and working in Shanghai, China. I'm already aware that I've to obtain police clearance certificates from my birth country (Malaysia) and from Shanghai's notary public office.

So my question is where should I be obtaining copies of both the notarized birth certificate and statement of unmarried/being single? In Shanghai or in my birth country? Also, my birth certificate has both English and my birth country's official language (Malay) printed on it, do I still need to have it translated?

Many thanks!
