National Visa Center (Dept of State)	NOA2 from September	Got our NOA 2 Sept 16 and as of Sept 27,2013 we already have a MNL case number, Oct 10 physical file has arrived at US Embassy Manila and we received a notification that we can go ahead and schedule an appointment. Oct 30 is my interview date.  That's great!  Fortunately for you your service center was VSC.  This thread is about CSC filers not having case numbers yet. National Visa Center (Dept of State)	NOA2 from September	hey people, I suggest this topic so we can have an idea about who has the NOa2 from September and still waiting for the NVC finally give us the case # ....I'm going crazy with this delay... But we need to trust that soon this will be done, so my NOA2 is from September 6th, and of course I am still waiting.... Anyone from September (CSC) already has good news from NVC? Also do you guys know if the consulate book the interviews based on the NOA2 date or NVC case number date? NOA2 September 4th and called NVC this morning and nothing yet.  I did see in the timlines that someone received a case number that had an NOA2 date of September 5th (CSC) so it appears they are working on them slowly. Hang in there, rough estimates lately show only a few weeks these days. In the last year or so have you witnessed anyone who has been in AP longer than 3 weeks? I know that you went through it longer several years ago but I have not found anyone too much over 21 days.  We are on 19 days and I really hope it leaves this week. I dunno about these people Yes, DOS is who told me the embassy couldn't take my case right now either.  LOL!  Really, what we are going through is normal.  It's just we see only the best results on here.  I always have to remind myself that there are thousands of other people filing for visas that do not use this site. National Visa Center (Dept of State)	STUCK @ NVC for AP Part II	How good of them to let you know!   Be sure to post, and  anyone else stuck in AP, when you get cut loose, so we can work out what the numbers are like these days.    Of course!  I sent the obligatory "thank you" that I always do.     I will definitely keep everyone posted.  These threads are what has me figure timres out.  I think I have searched so many folks so far and the most I have seen recently is 24 days and least was 14 days. National Visa Center (Dept of State)	STUCK @ NVC for AP Part II	I know I was well annoyed! Nearly 8 weeks, nobody could tell us anything, not even a thread here about it at the time. We used to sit in front of the computer at night, yakking back and forth. It is our age? Is it because I am Canadian but filing from NZ? Is it because of his double whammy super duper top  secret security clearance..long expired? It is because the planets were incorrectly lined up when our petition hit the desk in front of the person looking at us?      At interview, the very nice lady speaking to me said.."oh. I see you were in random security checks for quite a while. It's something new they are doing. We didn't even know"  I asked her again, random, really? She answered, yes. She also had a large bunch of paperwork, with big squares down one side, all with tick marks in them. Nothing we ever sent them, and I was so tempted to ask her what that was. All the same, I figured I've passed, let's not press my luck here, just  let me out of limbo.   It passes, it really does, and since those days they seem to have worked the kinks out of the procedure, so it takes a lot less time that it once did. Well, we have been there 12 days now so hopefully soon it will be done.  I heard back from the embassy and they do have open interviews this year so it was not the reason DOS gave me. Saw it was still "At NVC" so I called today and was told we were under AP and the usual "don't know how long it will take"... Oh well, got some awesome patience practice from CSC anyway. National Visa Center (Dept of State)	STUCK @ NVC for AP Part II	This is a continuation of http://www.visajourn...uck-nvc-for-ap/   So, if'n you're pursuing a K-1 visa and you're stuck at NVC for AP - post here.     Why AP at NVC for a K-1, you ask?      There's always AP (administrative processing) at NVC for a K-1 visa - it consists of: --additional background checks --NVC scanning the casefile into the SAFEFILE system --NVC issuing a Consular Casefile Number     sometimes one or more of these things gets lagged due to QUEUE and SIZE OF QUEUE.   When things get lagged, and you call in and ask for casefile status, this is always the answer - administrative processing.  It's not a bad thing - but when you learn of it - is solid indication that the queue is lagged.    So, post your stuff here.   Darnell,   Have you experienced many folks that have been told the reason that I was told yesterday, about the Frankfurt Germany Consulate not having any current interview dates available and that is why our case has not shipped yet?   They said our case made it thorugh all the double checks and assigning a case number but that is why it's still sitting there.  I don't understand why they can't just ship it and let the consulate handle it.  Oh well, not for me to understand as most of the NVC operators don't understand. I wonder do all k1 go thru this No they don't.  The average in the flowcharts used to be 1-4 weeks at this stage.  I have talked to several others on different forums and they say 1-3 weeks.  I guess it takes some to get theirs sooner and some later to create this average.   I talked to DOS and he explained that the NVC double checks the cases and assigns a case number.  Once entered into the system they wait on the embassy.  If the embassy does not have any current interview dates open the NVC holds the case until they do.  He said our case has made it thorugh the double check phase but they are waiting on the German embassy to have a date open. National Visa Center (Dept of State)	STUCK @ NVC for AP Part II	Omg I want to cry. I called nvc today and I was told by this rude rep that my papers r in ap. I asked to speak to a sup becuz she seemed bother by me asking questions and the supervisor confirned my case is in AP. I am soooooo worried now. By the looks of things on VJ it appears to only last at longest 3 weeks.  We have been there one week, so only two more to go.  Since they have my email I am just going to wait till Friday to see if I get something.   I know it sucks because we are so close but keep your head up!  It will happen soon. National Visa Center (Dept of State)	STUCK @ NVC for AP Part II	Unfortunately joining this thread.  Called this morning and the woman said we needed additional processing.  Received our case number October 16th and had to change Tichi's address there.  I really wish I didn't change the address because now I feel that is why we are still there.  Another July filing German couple got their case number the same day and their file is already at the consulate.  I am highly perturbed at the lack of efficiency these agencies seem to have and how random it is. A few July Filers posted on this same message yesterday.  Folks were saying that it means someone has "touched" your case.  One of those couples that received that message also received an approval notice a day later.  Hope you receive the same news! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NOA2 to NVC to Embassy	Congrats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Our NOA2 from CSC was7th AUG. File sent out to NVC on 4gh SEP, logged in NVC system on 12th SEP and got local case #, and finally sent out to consulate on today 13th SEP.   Fiance registered with E-mail notification but never received anything from CSC or NVC.   Once we got local case # (Tokyo number) by calling DoS, we were able to check the status with CEAC site. https://ceac.state.g...ker/Status.aspx   It shows "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." but the interview date part is negligible.   From NVC to consulate, we'll use DHL site: http://www.visajourn...-to-us-embassy/   Hope everyone's file here go through a swift journey. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NOA2 to NVC to Embassy	Hello.....   Just an update .   I just got off the phone with the NVC and the got our package on Sept. 11th YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it took them since the Aug. 9th so almost 5 weeks.  The said it was in AP and i asked if that was normal and she said yes.  she verified some information and then tols me they would contact me when it was sent out.  She also gave our number so we can call the consulet next week to see what is next.   I hope this helps any of you still waiting.    On to the next stage of the process and i pray it goes as smooth. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel   Quick question....   Did you receive any notification on USCIS that your case was forwarded to the NVC?   Thank you and Congratualtions! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	129-f approved in 58 days!!!	Petition was approved yesterday. 58 days!!:-) i guess we are one of the lucky ones. Jaennesse and i are both very happy right now. The notice online said to follow the instructions on the letter. Im actually on my way to the philippines, so i wont receive the letter till i get back next month. Does anybody know what the instruction is that they are referring to? Im assuming that whatever is on the letter, is covered in Hank's handy guide. Is that correct? Thanks in advance for any comments and thank you all vj citizens for your posts and helpful replies. I go on this site everyday to read and learn. Been very helpful. Now on to NVC, medical, cfo, and interview. Hopefully by december we will be together. Finally... The letter tells you they have forwarded it to the listed consulate.  They have not.  It goes, like everyone else's to the NVC first.  If you are a CSC filer there has been quite a backlog of waiting for this to happen.  Anywhere from 3-8 weeks I have seen before the NVC receives your case from the USCIS.   I would suggest waiting a couple weeks and then call the NVC to try to obtain your case number from them but they will tell you the wait time is 8 weeks as of right now.   Congratulations though and welcome to the next round of the waiting game! You're welcome!  Try to busy yourself with normal routines.  This is not the fastest process and you can go rather nuts waiting.  I know it's difficult but just think of things around the house that need to be done before your partners pending arrival. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC case number for August fillers.	Hi! Does any of the august fillers who got approved really quickly got their nvc case number? Did anyone try to call them and has some news? We are July filers with a quick NOA2 from California.  I have called DOS and NVC and nothing has been received yet.  I know that some folks are hearing 8 weeks (as a standard NVC response) now from NVC.  Vermont and Texas are sending their approvals much quicker currently than California.    Good luck and I suppose every part of this journey requires great patience. My k-1 petition was approved August 14th at the CSC, but I've yet to received any further notifications that it's been received by the NVC.... Is this normal? This week will be 7 weeks since the petition was approved. Is it possible that it's been sent to the embassy in Costa Rica without any notifications? (Emails, texts, or updates on the USCIS website) You won't receive anything.  You have to call NVC or DOS to get your case number.  They will eventually send your petition to the embassy in Costa Rica but you wouldn't know until your fiance receives the packet 3.   CSC petitioners do not receive notifications and they are taking 5-8 weeks to send the approved petitions to the NVC currently.   It stinks but at least your NOA2 was approved! My fiance (the petitioner) waited for 4 weeks before calling NVC... But I (the beneficiary) tried calling DOS yesterday using the magic jack app but with no luck. And when i called back today, finally we got it! And yes! People on DOS were nice... Waiting for packet 3 God is good...! Today I got an email reply with our case number and a priority date.  I don't quite understand how the priority date affects us. It's listed as July 12, 2013. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	CSC 08/22 NAO2 finally received at nvc	HaHA that is too funny, i was desperate for the case number for the same reason.  but wait to change the address until you have the case number.  Then you email the german consulate with the case number in the subject line and discuss changing the address.  You dont want to slow anything down before NVC sends it to Germany.  I do believe however, that the form that you fill out online as part of "packet 3" asks for the current mailing address so I would hope they would update based off of that but you cant go wrong with shooting them an email first with the case number while you wait for the packet to travel from NVC to Germany. Yes.  The German consulate told him to let the NVC know.  I hate calling them as I have also preferred DOS but, perhaps DOS can change it easy also.  I will call them towards the end of this week. NAO2 8/22.  Our apps are finally being received at NVC.  No case number yet but should have by wednesday.  Def a lot better knowing that they have arrived and we dont have to worry that they are lost.  So all my August NAO2 friends call DOS 1-202485-7600 Shorter wait time and nicer customer agents. Awesome!  Congrats!  I am hoping the government impending shut down won't hurt us too bad.  Ours was 9/4 and we are ready to roll once the petition get to Germany.
