Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)already married to "illegal"
QUOTE (abel & maria @ Feb 16 2009, 02:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My husband is from Mexico and I was born in the US. We have been married for 2 years. We were married here. We went to an immigration lawyer to see if there was any way to get him a legal status. He didnt give us much hope. I am new to this site and need help. I am not sure if the lawyer is being truthful or if there is something else that we can do. If anyone has any advice please let me know. thanks

That depends...

Is your husband DOCUMENTED as being in this country????

If Immigration KNOWS that he is here (illegally), then he's dead meat (i.e. as soon as found, he will be deported and BANNED from this country for TEN years).

However, if they DON'T KNOW that he's here, he should get OUT A.S.A.P. without them knowing (easy enough), and then you should file a I-130 and I-129F with Immigration to bring him here legally (as long as they have NO history/documentation of his having been here illegally, he should be approved. If they DO have histroy/documentation of his having been here illegally, then it's 10 years exclusion).

GOOD LUCK and G-D BLESS.

I was wondering if anyone has scheduled a date for an interview in Kiev Recently and how far ahead they are booking? I had one girl email me & just tell me February 29th is the earliest, but I find that hard to believe. Thanks

No, the earliest is really February 31st.
(I figure that if you'll believe Feb 29th [this year], you'll believe Feb 31st also)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPLEASE HELP I'M IN TEARS!
!st thing is...Go outside and smoke yourself absolutley sh*faced with the best Gnaja that you can find.

Once you've calmed down, then make your medical appointment ASAP, then go to your interview as planned (like EVERYBODY here is telling you headbonk.gif ), forget about your caseworker, and all will probably be well (granting of visa will merely be delayed until medical results are received. Chill!!! What's the worst that can happen??? The worst is, they can do you Sierra Leone style (war era) and cut your hands off ("short sleeves or long sleeves?" devil.gif ) so can't vote when you get here (Believe that, and I can get you the Brooklyn Bridge for a great price). innocent.gif

Philippinesfeb case complete NVC
QUOTE (MMW @ Feb 26 2009, 01:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone, Just wanted to start this thread to get an idea of where we all are as far as April interviews and Feb. case completes. Post here if you got a case complete from NVC in February and also update when you receive the interview date. My wife's case was completed on Feb. 26th.

Congrats on having your case complete today. I see that your DS-230 & I-864 were scanned at the NVC on the 23rd. Mine were scanned the next day on the 24th. I hope this means that mine will be complete tomorrow on the 27th (also my birthday). I'm tired of this line of bullsh*t that the NVC operators feed us ("wait 2-4 weeks") which is still better than automated recording which says 4-8 weeks. I just nervous, because I want them to SHIP my file to Kiev soon, because I already made a K-3 interview appointment for March 25th, that I'd like to "flip" to a CR1 interview if my CR1 file will be there.

Good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certification Question
QUOTE (gordec @ Mar 14 2009, 09:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
So we are in a difficult situation because my fiancee has lived in Germany since 1992 but went to Beijing and did 4 years of high school at a German international high school. Now our 129F is approved, and files have been sent to Frankfurt, the only thing we are missing is the Police Certificate for those years she was in China. Unfortunately, her whole family is in Europe, to get the Police Certificate, she has to fly to China just for that.

Anyone knows how strict are the embassy about the Police Certificate? It almost seem unreasonable for her to fly to China just for that when she lived in Germany for so long. If this an absolute requirement, has people found ways to obtain it without traveling? Thanks

I would suggest requesting a police certificate from the nearest Chinese Consulate. I'm sure they can arrange it. Although it might take a month or 2.
