PhilippinesProof of income for the Manila Embassy?
I am getting ready to mail off the I-129F as soon as I receive the few papers from Aya that I need to complete the package.

I am also working on getting all my paperwork ready so that when the time comes for the various additional stuff it's already taken care of.

Can anyone tell me what the Manila Embassy will require for the I-134 along with what the form itself asks for?

Do I just need my most recent taxes?
Do I need most recent taxes and W2s?
Do I need the last 2-3 years of taxes?

I just want to make sure everything is in order. I appreciate any and all help.

PhilippinesQuestions about the CFO class in Cebu
I had her take the class now, because she's moving back to Ormoc to live with her family and there's only two CFO classes in all of PI.

I will give a work of advice though.

She got there at 415 in the morning and she was 37th in line. They only take 12.

She happened to run into someone from Ormoc that knew her dad. He was 6th in line and had been there since 2am.

Registration starts at 8, lecture at 2 and then an interview.

The guy that was 6th in line realized that he didn't have all the papers he needed so he gave my fiancee his spot in line.

The 13th person in line was upset, but the older man said "I've been here since 2am. I'll give my spot to who I want".

We got very lucky with that. I'm hoping the Petition gets approved soon.

PhilippinesQuestions about the CFO class in Cebu
She hasn't been to the USEM. But she lives in Cebu at the moment but will be leaving there and going back to Ormoc to live with her family until she comes here to be with me. She's going to take the class first so that she don't have to try to take it afterwards when she doesn't live in Cebu anymore.

Well I scanned and emailed a PDF which was 99 pages of everything I sent to the USCIS here for the original I-129F so she has chat logs and receipts and stuff like that she can print out.

What other types of questions do they ask so I can prepare her for it.

Thanks.

PhilippinesQuestions about the CFO class in Cebu
She is going to take the Cebu CFO class either tomorrow or the next day.

She already found the place and they told her what to bring with her and said they needed supporting documents as well like proof of a relationship and stuff like that.

I didn't realize that they would do that. Why do they need to see our chat logs and such? I thought it was the USEM's job to decide if the relationship is valid, not the counseling class she has to take before she can get her passport stamped.

If she does have to take that stuff, what exactly what does she need? Just proof of me being there/ pictures/ some chat logs etc?

She also wanted me to ask about at the end of the class they said there would be an interview. She's wondering if anyone has done that CFO and what interview questions they may be asking? I was thinking it was just some questions about the day long seminar so that they knew that she was paying attention. The said if she didn't do well on the questions she'd have to take the class again. That's why I'm thinking it's more of a test than an interview.

Thanks for any help. I truly appreciate everything all the VJers do on these forums.

Have a great day.

Thank you. So there are no special requirements other than that?

Does anyone know how it works when it comes to marrying there and the usc getting an extended visa etc?

thank you.

PhilippinesQuestion on marrying in pi
Was just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of where I can get information on what I have to do to if I want to her married in pi and want to start with my soon to be wife there?

I don't need advice on "i should get married in usa" or anything like that. We are still deciding what we want to do, I just need to see what I need to do if I go the pi route.

Thank you all.

Philippines21 days?
They can keep extending it, but it would honestly be cheaper to take a small flight (the both of you) to as close outside the country and come back in together. Then the stamp is good for 1 year since you two are married.

Is it true that a USC can keep extending the visa for 16 months? I was told this by someone and it seems to be the case based on this page but I don't fully understand it.

PhilippinesFiancé Letter of Intent
Quick question on the embassy letter you are talking about. Is this the link you posted just now, or is this something that is sent to the USC after the I-129F is approved? I'm still not certain about that. Someone said you needed the letter from the embassy for either the medical or the interview itself, but why would it get sent to the USC just to have to be forwarded to the beneficiary?

There is an "intent" statement on the 156K that is signed in front of the CO, and the new requirements only ask for the DS-230 part I (just not sure when the embassy will actually start asking for it). The requirements letter from the embassy asks for a new letter of intent, check item "k" in the preparation letter - "clear intention to marry within 90 days".

I have read on here and been under the impression that part 2 of the DS230 was the letter of intent that the CO helped you fill out.

I thought you did not have to send an updated version of the letter of intent, at least that's what I've been told on here already.

While it erases the element of surprise, for gifts like that until she's here, I'd send money through xoom.com.

That way you know she'll get it ;)

Gosh I'm glad I ran across this post. I bought my fiancé an iPad for Christmas and was planning on mailing it and two iPhones after the Christmas holiday. Not sure I want to take the chance on mailing it and her never receiving it!

Section 4. What if a Document is Not Available?

A) Baptismal Cert
B) Census Record
C) School Record
D) Affidavits

But he probably has his birth cert my point is moot.

You do need the baptismal cert if you don't have a Birth Cert. I think it's one of the alternative information you can provide.

Or I'm tired and completely wrong.

Read the K-1 GUIDE this will answer most all your questions about filing the I-129F petition.

Don't need that for the I-129F petition.

PhilippinesUSC at interview
I know you have said it's a good idea to me in the past to go _Hank, but I'm wondering if it's more of a necessity?

We have talked about it and we want to have her do the interview alone so that we can schedule the flights after she has the Visa and go to Thailand for a bit of a vacation before we go back to the states, but we only have 2 weeks. We are just following the "Don't book anything till Visa is in hand" rule.

I'm just trying to figure out if I NEED to be there or if she should be just fine.

PhilippinesAllowed check-in luggage (Delta)
Each airline differs with their allowances for checked and carry on luggage. You will have to check with Delta's site on what is allowed weight wise.

I would call Delta. Does it have to be with them?

If not, then I'd look at websites like onetravel.com (if I'm allowed to post that link). That's how I booked the flight from the USA to PI when I went to visit my Fiancee.

Sometimes you can get better deals by going on the sites like the one I mentioned. How old is your daughter? Does she take up a seat or is she young enough to sit in your lap the whole time?

$200 USD should be more than enough. If it's 200 PHP then it definitely won't be enough to even buy food while your at the layover airport etc.

Enjoy your flight and I hope you have a safe journey.

Hello VJ members Merry Christmas! I am presently looking for a flight via Delta Airlines going to Melbourne, Florida. I want to leave on the 30th of December with my daughter. I packed three 23 kilos checked-in luggages and two 7 kilos handcarry. Are we okay with this? And what is the most that I can bring with me as money allowance? We are on a very tight budget. Will 200 dollars be enough? Done with our CFO and sticker. Anything more I need to prepare? International roaming sim card? Do's and dont's. Suggestions will be of great help. Thank you so much.

Another thing. When I look on the websites for flights schedules, the last leg of the flight, Atlanta, Georgia to Melbourne Florida, have no available seats. What's in there are "preferred seats". I have no idea how this works. :help:

Philippines2GO Delivery times
Just trying to see how long it took most people on average to get their Visa from the consulate through 2GO for both picking it up and delivery.

I'm considering going there for the interview. I will have 2 weeks from when I arrive if I time it right so I'm hoping it would show up before we'd have to leave. I'd hate to make plans and it now work out because it takes longer than it's supposed to.

I know you're not supposed to do anything until you get approval but we are talking about me being there and I can't be there and then come back and get her, just too expensive.

Well I'm glad you found what you were looking for and I wish you 2 the best :)

I hope that it is really cheaper to fly in March/April or if it will be the same price as you when I have to book since the bookings are always at the last minute when it comes to the Visa application. Wish I could see the future ;)

I'm looking right now.

I am using end of March. This may be different as I don't know when you plan on going, but .........

I got Wichita to Ohare (1hr 53min)
Chicago O'hare to Seoul (13hr 50min)
Seoul to Cebu (4hr 35min)

For 1286.00 Roundtrip.

Thermite, where are you flying from? Those prices are absolutely ridiculous.

You can get a round trip to Cebu for around 13-1400. That's from Indianapolis, IN anyways.

I wouldn't pay those and if you need help finding tickets, let me know. I'll look for you because that's ridiculous. I'm not a travel agent or anything. I just know how to find stuff online for good prices.

If she lived closer to that one it probably would have been better.

The class is at 1400. The registration starts at 0800.

They only take 12 people a day and when Aya arrived the day prior at 0600 she was 25th in line.

When she arrived the next day she was 37th and she got there at 0415. A guy that knew her dad, that didn't have all his paperwork gave her his spot (6th) and he had been waiting since 0215.

She texted me a few times during the registration because they asked my job, my income, a bunch of stuff but the registration starts at 8.

Since Cebu is the only place in the Visayas region that does that class and they only take 12 a day, you can see where if you are in a hurry you better get there early.

The Manila office takes more people per day.

Since there are only 2 places in all of PI to get it, then I'm figuring it's about the same ratio of who shows up so the fact Manila takes more people probably doesn't mean anything.

Cebu, if feasible, may be the better option. I would however get there around 2am and camp. You can wait in line and then bug off and find something to do for the rest of the day as she'll be there till about 4-5pm.

My fiancee just went to the CFO in Cebu and this is what they made her have with her......

NSO
2 Valid IDs
Supporting documents
- Pictures
- Divorce papers if applicable
- Proof of a relationship (I know it's not required, but this was all asked of by my fiancee there in Cebu)

She saw someone get sent away and told to come back the next day with tax papers from her fiance.

They only take 12 people a day.

My fiancee got very very lucky and someone gave her their spot because they knew they didn't have all the paperwork. The guy that gave her his spot was there since 2am and he was 6th in line.

You have to be early. The registration starts at 8 and then the seminar starts at 2 with a 20-30 minute interview to follow.

It would be very expensive to try to buy a third party health care. Depending on the employer if they approve domestic partnerships you can add her sooner. If not, I'd personally wait until you are married.

Philippinesdeposit slip for BPI

Have you already printed it off?

Aya printed it off but if you do it default off Internet Explorer it prints it out on 2 pages and the Bank won't take it. Freaking fiasco yesterday with that stuff.

If they are using Internet Explorer and go to Print Setup and change the top and bottom margins to .25 instead of the default .75 it will print out on one page with large enough font so the bank will still take it.

Yes they sent her away from the bank because

1) On two pages

2) Font not big enough (because the web cafe figured it would work to just shrink the font to make it fit on one page)

Good luck.

Quick question.

My fiancee is traveling from Cebu to Manilla for the interview. Philippinesneed URGENT advise re: St. Lukes appointment letter

On the same note........

I have the NOA2 but no letter from NVC yet.

We are planning to schedule the interview for 2 weeks (or as close to as possible) today after she pays the BPI fee for the Visa Application.

Do we have to wait to get the letter from the NVC so I can scan it and send it to her or are we ok with just doing everything online?

I haven't scheduled the appointment with the embassy yet but I'm assuming there is a confirmation page that comes up at the end that you can print off that should have the date of the interview with your MNL number along with other pertinent information for the medical......... am I right?

Philippines2GO and recieving the Visa?

Thank you. I looked at the link just now, overlooked it earlier.

It says it could show up a day or two sooner (than the 7-10 posted days) which is definitely helpful. That's far off from the 2 days you say it would take.

We will go that route. Thank you for the suggestion. She can just stay with an Aunt while in Manila.

Well the interview is in Manila but she lives in Ormoc.

So we're trying to figure a way to get it fastest.

I guess it's an option to stay in Manila a couple days till she gets it. Mall of Asia is MOA right?

Philippines2GO and recieving the Visa?

Ok, here's a different question that you guys can answer being from PI and stuff.

We are wondering if it would be faster to pick it up in Cebu than to have it come all the way to Ormoc?

Since I'm assuming it would go by plane from Manila to Cebu and then out to the 2GO places it would be faster and ready to pick up faster than letting it go from Manila to Cebu to Ormoc (the 1 2GO station they have).

Am I right on this?

Thanks in advance.
