Asia: SouthFiancée is coming on the 28th what should he bring
Tell him to bring with him all the spices, you get them here but they are ten times more than what you would find in india, he can get 250 grams of each spice and that will last him for about 2 years smile.gif, if he is from southern india i strongly suggest him to get snacks that he loves as its difficult to get them here.... i miss banana chips [ My mom sent me 2 packs and they just vanish wink.gif]

If you are from California you can take him to artezia [ little india] you get almost everything there and its best value.. even a pressure cooker for about $35 and all brands.. we got one from there and also some indian plates and cups as my husband loves to eat and drink from them.

Passed the interview and I am scheduled for the Oath ceremony on the 28th of June at 9:30AM :)

My appointment was at 8:25AM and I was called in at 9:50AM. The IO called my name and apologised if he had pronounced it wrong. My husband responded and said he did just fine. He took us to a hall and asked my husband to wait there while we walked into a room.

IO was very nice and made me feel comfortable even before we started.

He introduced himself after which I was asked to take the oath and then sit down.

IO went through the application, asked about the three times I was out of the country in the past three years, I explained all the trips in detail. He also reviewed the rest of the application and updated my phone number as that was the only part that was changed. He asked if I had any pictures of us togather, I din't bring them along with me, but mentioned I have a lot on my phone and also had submitted them along with the application. We went through the Yes/No questions and then got to the civics test.

My questions:
1. What is the name of the national anthem?
2. What is the rule of law?
3. What ocean is on the west coast?
4. How old do citizens have to be to vote for president?
I dont remember the other 2 :(

I had to read: How many Senators are there?
I had to write: We have one hundred(100) senators.

IO congratulated me and gave me the passport application along with my unofficial Oath letter - he said I should recieve an official one in the mail in a week or so.

It has been 22 days since my biometric appointment.

At what point do I start inquiring about my case updates since it has been that long?

I am more calm now than before(still have my GC so it is all good) but just curious at this point.

Dont go to do an early Bio to the San Jose office. they are jerks there.

I went in requesting an early Bio because I had training scheduled at work on the day my appointment. I even took a print out of the email as a confirmation showing my training schedule(My company HQ is in Novato and I live 2 hours away so I will be leaving on monday and staying there for 3 days and won't have time to drive back to the bay area for fingerprinting)

The office had 4 people waiting and the lady (so called supervisor) wasn't willing to take me in because she can't have me sit and take space in the room, this was at 1:35 PM, she asked me to come back at 3 and try again and she will try an accomodate me.

I seriosuly doubt she will but, I am going to try again at 3:00 if not I will have to re-schedule..

I completed my I-751 bio about 10 months back but still managed to get a bio letter for N-400. :(
My NOA said the same "Upon reciept of you records......"

The BIO letter should arrive in about 20 days after you have submiited your application.

I got m biometrics done early 03/30/2011 @ San Jose office... my appointment date was 04/18/2011. The security was very kind and the entire process took 15 mins.

We sent our package on the 9th of March 2011, got USPS confirmation that it was delivered on the 14th to the USCIS office and I got the NOA -1 on the 18th of March....

Quick question - Does anyone know how long before I get my 10 year green card ?
