My fiance, Michael, was just about to send off Packet 3 when he called to make the appointment for his Medical Exam. The lady he spoke with on the phone gave him information that conflicts with info I've read here on Visajourney, and I just wanted to ask you guys to verify what's the correct info?

BTW -- this is filing for the London embassy.

Your passport stamps are essential to the requisite "evidence" trail. Boarding passes, tickets, CC statements and so forth are excellent secondary evidence.

Your complete financial information is essential, to fulfill the I-134 requirements. Evidence such as: pay stubs, 3 years tax returns, W-2's, letter of employment and so forth (meeting or exceeding the poverty level)...The more the better.

Ahh, great. I don't have 3 years of tax returns, as I had recently graduated before I started working (this year is my first year filing a tax return)... But I have 3 of my most recent pay stubs, a bank statement, and a letter of employment. Will that work?

Yikes. Well, even my crucial documents I have certified/notorized copies of, so I would send those. smile.gif

Are the cards/letters really all that necessary, if I'm going to be sending *new* evidence of "continuing relationship" in between the time we started the application and now?

And how should I organize all these originals? Just stuff them in an envelope, or should I sort them out with as much care as the original application?

Hey all,

I just wanted to clarify what "Originals of Documentary Proof" meant in regards the the package I have to send my fiancé (beneficiary) for his interview.

So am I to understand this includes things like...

- Notorized copy of my passport
- Original/certified birth certificate

(divorce/death/other legal certificates don't apply to our situation)

But do they also include the originals of the PREVIOUS (originally submitted for I-129F) documentary proof of our relationship or meeting, like

- Original photos
- Original boarding passes
- Original letters to each other

Can anyone let me know if any of what I've listed is NOT necessary, and if I'm missing anything?

When applying for the K-1 Visa, I remember having to make 3 copies of everything I sent in.

Do we have to do that again for applying for Removing Conditions?

Will only 2 copies suffice, if we do need to make copies?

For cell phone bills, utilities and bank statements - make it so it spans your marriage and since you got the GC - 2-3 bank statements from first months, then 2-3 more 6-10 months later and then 2-3 of the most recent ones. You don't want to overwhelm the reviewer.

That's what we sent and no issues - approved real fast.

We have sent our joint federal and state taxes for the last 3 years (2007, 2008 and 2009) every single month of utilities (SDGE), some of the cable provider and internet (time warner cable and some of COX our current provider) some cell phone bills, home phone bills,
copy of our health insurance cards and dental plan with a statement of some claims in 2008 one in 2009 and one n 2010) , copy of every single month of our joint checking and savings account on Wells Fargo and Chase (former WAMU) since when we got married, copy of joint credit cards (Walmart and Mastercard), costco membership, copy of the march 2010 online rent statement,
copy of the letter of our leasing application approval welcoming us to the condo when we moved to the current place dated december 2008, a few random pictures with our dog, letter of two friends, wedding invitation from a friend, airline reservations, hotel reservations, copy of online major purchases (fancy nikon professional camera that I brought hubby for Christmas, copy of every single month of our cars insurances (of course everything with both of our names on it) a cover letter written by me telling then what was included in the envelop and talking a little about our life, our dog (which is our baby) our plans for the future, etc...
I think that was all, or maybe there is something else that I might not remember. :yes:

Enough evidence????


Very helpful! But can you be more specific about how many copies of, say, your cell phone bill you sent? I have every bill for every month since he's been here, and I was wondering if they really needed to see *every* month, because that would end up being a lot of paperwork. Or is every other month, or every 4 or 6 months okay?

Hi everyone,

I was curious as to how much evidence was too much? I've collected a huge box of every shared bank statement/insurance/utility bill/etc over the course of the time my husband and I have been together, and I was wondering do they *really* need me to make copies of ALL of these documents? Or is like, 2 of each enough?

Can anyone who's successfully filed the I-751 share how many pieces of evidence they've included for each type? (How many bank statements, gas bills, electricity bills, etc, to include?)

What is the number for the NCSC? Would it be the number for the VSC I see on the NOA1 I received? (800) 375-5283?

Also does anyone know their hours? My husband and I both work and I figured we needed to coordinate together for the necessary information for this call... I heard that people mentioned they needed the green card info too? Anything else I need to know?

You still file where you currently live so the address you give on the I-129F for where they plan to live does not affect that.

You could use your parents address for the I-129F. When you get to the interview stage you will be required to provide an address at that time. That is the one that is important as it will be his official address and must be kept current.

When I originally filed I had one physical address listed on my I-129F, since then I have sold that home and am renting, (my PO Box hasnt changed) on my Fiancees 230 at the interview we will show our new address as the her official residence once in the states.


Hmm.. Okay, that sounds like a good plan. Out of curiosity though, what exactly does the address where my fiancé will be staying entail? Will he be receiving mail there, or will he have to be physically present..?

Also, whenabouts would the interview process be starting? Is this after we receive the visa?

Hi. :) I'm filing my I-129F and I've got a problem with finding an address in the US where my fiancé intends to live.

At the moment I live in all-women's housing in New York City, so obviously I can't list my own address.. My parents' house is in Michigan, but the immigration office for Michigan is different from that of New York (where my fiancé and I intend to live.)

If all goes well, I hope to be able to move into my own apartment to with him around the time that he moves over here.. But until then, what can I put down as an address?

My friends who live in the New York area are hesitant to house him or let us use their addresses until we can find our own apartment, because they don't know what it entails.. Does anyone have any information on this? Will he be just receiving mail at this address, or will he actually need to be present and show evidence of living there?

Any information would be helpful.. thank you so much!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of Meeting question?
I'm putting together the package right now, and I have a question about the Proof of Meeting that my fiance and I have been trying to figure out.

When we first met, it was in London and we weren't in a relationship at that point. Therefore, I don't have the boarding passes for that trip or any other primary evidence. We didn't take photos together. I don't have a passport stamp because I entered Europe in Germany and then traveled to England. My fiance says that maybe we should just state that we don't have the evidence for that meeting, but I think that maybe we should just exclude that part to avoid confusion. We have things like... London Eye tickets and movie ticket stubs from that trip, but that doesn't really prove anything?

Also on every trip we've taken to see each other since then (SEVEN total!) we have boarding passes, passport stamps, itineraries, and photos. If we have so much evidence for our subsequent trips, do we even need to give evidence of our first meeting?

This would help a lot, thank you!
