CaribbeanSpouse Visa Process for Dom Rep

the OP's type of visa is a DCF which is a much shorter time frame. i havent seen too many of those here on VJ since not alot of us live in the dr. do search on here for those who have and try to contact them via inbox and find out their process. go through the DR members' profiles and check who has filed through a DCF visa! you can also check the consulate's website and read about the DCF.

Good luck to your and your hubby smile.png

I live in Washington, June to July and at Christmas.

He lives here.

So................what type of Visa are we going for?

I've been told that I should use my parents' address for all mailing purposes...........

If he needs to leave the USA ( after entering and getting the green card ) for more than 6 months he should apply for the re-entry permit asap before traveling as it will take some time to process it and get it in the mail. If he will travel and come back 6 months and under he would not need the re-entry permit just the green card and his passport.

So, you're saying as long as he goes back and forth from the U.S. every 6 months or less (3 months, 4 months...), he'll be able to do this forever? I don't think so....

True.

So most people have experienced 9-12 months for the processing?

How soon do you need the re-entry pass? The first time you leave the US and then come back?

Ok, thanks everyone!

I just don't want to make ANY mistakes (won't be using a lawyer).

Also...

With this type of visa.....how long can you travel back/forth until you MUST stay in the U.S.????

I've heard up to 2 years....as long as you leave every 6 months. (We currently are married (6 mo. married & over 5 years together) and live in the Dominican Republic.)
