PhilippinesMY Interview
And one thing more.. what if the biodad will send me the consent and of course it will be notarized from the US then the CO will found out that the biodad is a legal permanent resident in US.. will it affect the situation? should i consider getting another possible document from the biodad asked by the CO? Or since he isnt USC yet, will the letter of consent be enough? are they just want to have a proof that the biodad allowed our daughter to immigrate. Or should i just prepare an affidavit stating that the biodad in not cooperating? ggeeez i really dont know what to do sad.gif pls help me sad.gif thanks so much.

PhilippinesMY Interview
No.. the biodad and i never get married at all. And my daughter is carrying my family name.. it's just happened that he signed the acknowledgement of paternity. So the CO asked me to send the "letter of consent to immigrate from derivative biodad" for our daughter. As I can see it, the CO just dont want to get us in trouble in time when the biodad will find out that i brought her daughter without his consent and since he was signed in the BC, he has the right to sue me for that. And to make things more complicated.. i just found out from his brother ( good thing they are still alive lol ) that the biodad is now residing in New Jersey as petitioned by his mom and now a greencard holder (Legal Permanent Resident) and i was like WOW! (Actually i know about that petition eversince and that's one of the reasons why we didnt get married before (GOOD THING!) but in time we broke up i never hear anything from him nor from his family at all, our daughter never see or meet him in person.. only in picture) Good thing his brother gave me his contact number in the US but been trying to call him and still no one is answering! grrrrr but im sure as soon as i talked to him he is willing to send me the consent..he should be!!!! He runined my life and im sure he doesnt want to ruin his daughter's future too. Not again! But if he wont cooperate.. i guess nothing i can do but to file an abandonment or any opinion from you guys that i can do about my case? any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated. thanks. smile.gif

What if he don't want to give me? What will I do? Last thing i heard about him is through our common friend that he is already living in the US (petitioned by his mom). Any advice regarding this will be highly appreciated.. I feel so bad and kinda frustrated sleep.gif sad.gif crying.gif

Hi,

Just want to ask you, looks like you jsut got you interview at the manila embassy late. Upon reading the forums here, I found out that document verification is no longer required (some earlier applicants has to pay Delbros before) Does you fiance have to pay this?

Hello my fellow vjers.. Im so happy right now because after all the waiting.. My fiance just called the USEmbassy to check our status and they said that it was approved and for printing.. good.gif so we are expecting the Visa anytime soon... kicking.gif Now, i wanted to ask for any suggestions where to buy the ticket (travel agency) in Manila.. Thanks so much.. God is so good! smile.gif

Hi I did pay the document verification last October before my interview.. but there's no guarantee that it wasn't a requirement anymore since no one from USEmbassy confirmed about it when i was there for my interview, but they didn't ask the receipt from me.. i only heard about it is from here (vj).. Just to be safe, just pay for it or just contact delbros 3392761 loc 127 or 118. thanks and goodluck smile.gif

Hi vjers.. anyone here who's fiance bought ticket online? how does it work? i mean how can i get the ticket? Thanks.. smile.gif

I always buy plane tickets online. If your husband buy ticket online from the US or anywhere else.. what you have to do is get the email confirmation # that will be sent to you by the airline company where you purchased the ticket.
Then at the airport you can claim your plane ticket by showing them the email confirmation #.That's how simple it is.

Ahhh ok.. i heard when you purchased online, travel tax and terminal tax are excluded. So you mean to say, i am going to pay those taxes at the airport?? One thing more, if you bought ticket online and it shows the price does include the other tax?? i just dont know what tax that is.

Hi Vjers! Me and my daughter will be leaving for US on February..we are on K1/K2 Visas. I know there's a thread here regarding POE experiences.. I have read it.. And all i see are those who shared their experiences coming from different countries.. I haven't seen one coming from Philippines.. If anyone here who had POE in Chicago, IL- Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) please share me your experience.. I just want to know how many minutes will i need to get through all the immigration process at the airport before boarding the next plane to Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'll arrive in ORD 3:55pm and my next departure time going to Grand Rapids is at 5:50pm. Do you think 1 hr and 55 minutes are enough time to finish the immigration process?? How many minutes or hours do i need to check-in on the next flight? I'll be changing plane when i get to ORD to Grand Rapids. Any reply will be highly appreciated. Thank You so much smile.gif -Karol

Hey guys! I just want to share...

I recently bought Magic Jack. It has been here in Philippines for only a month (that's what the lady said). My fiancee saw it in a TV ad in US 6 months ago but he made a research about it first and he was discouraged with the consumer review. I didn't know about his story but I saw the ad in a newspaper here in Philippines. I decided to surprise him because the lady told me that she will give me a phone number with the same area code of my fiancee's. So there. I got the shipment yesterday and was so nervous that I might be scammed. But after 30 mins of figuring it out, (Im kinda dumb when it comes to computers) I started calling my fiancee for FREE!!! It worked! It is clear and so easy to use, just like an ordinary phone.

This is only my first day to use Magic Jack. Let's see what happens in the next few days. I am not here to endorse this product. I am speaking as consumer,as someone who doesn't want her fiancee in the US to spend his hard earned money on phone bills and as someone who only wants to help her vj family.

Hi all.. I just want to ask if anyone of you has a sample copy of Letter of Parent's Consent (WAIVER), I know it should be notarized, I just wanted to be ready incase the Embassy will ask me where's the biological father of my daughter. Having the WAIVER would be good to show them in the interview so it wont cause us delay. Any help on this matter will be much appreciated. TYVM. -Karol

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill i need a co-sponsor?
~ Hello fellow VJers ~

In anyones experience or opinion, will i need a co-sponsor if my income is only slightly over the 125% poverty level?

The guidelines for 2008 say $22,000 for a family of 3, to which i will be making an estimated $23,500-$24,000 this year.

Does anyone know if they follow the guidelines closely and possibly take into consideration that my past few years were much higher but due to a recent job change it has been lowered?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated biggrin.gif

Thank You ~~Mike and Karol~~

Wow, you really need to have that much in your savings account? I don't have any where near that and I'm sure hardly any one does?

Where can I find this information? Is it in some kind of guideline that is clear cut and calculated?

Edit: Nevermind, I meet the requirement of 125% of poverty so I will be ok.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJune CSC

It's poorly written, so it could be interpreted the way you say, but I don't think so. After re-reading it, I think what it more likely means is that they are allowing a 45-day grace period between Aug 3 and Sep 17. Within that period, any I-129Fs that get received at VSC or CSC will be forwarded to the Dallas lockbox (where it should have been sent in the first place), and any I-129Fs received at VSC/CSC after that period (i.e. after Sep 17) will just be returned immediately.

To be honest I really do have a problem with the way the USCIS explains stuff. I find it very unclear and complicated. On the other hand I'm sure the German authorities aren't much better with their wording . Thanks for your help and good luck to all of us!

Quote from the USCIS site:

"The Vermont and California Service Centers will forward incorrectly filed petitions to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox for a period of 45 days until Sept. 17, 2010. After Sept. 17, 2010, petitions and fees submitted at the Service Centers will be returned to the applicant, with a note advising them of the correct filing location."

Can anybody tell me what on earth does that mean??? Does that mean they keep incorrectly filed petitions (are we talking about RFEs here or sending them back before NOA1 even?) are kept for 45 days and then they send them back??? I guess my English is failing me here. I don't understand it... Can anybody help?

Same here. I-129F sent on June 28, NOA1 dated July 6, touched on July 12 and since then absolutely nothing... I just wish there hadn't been this big tease with some May filers who got NOA2 in 23 days or so. That really put my hopes up high. Oh well, patience, patience, patience :clock:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 June 2010 CSC Filers

wow....Looks like us June filers got caught in one of the dreaded processing stoppage's....Which wouldn't be so painful (I expected 5 months, and thought anything less would be a gift from God) BUT...it was so hard to see most of the May and Folks get approved in >80 days. Its also tough that according to Igor's list...not many June filers approved (like most)

73 days and counting.... :crying:

I just hope when they do start to go through the June petitions....they go fast and with no RFE's!!!

It is indeed very frustrating. Nothing seems to move. Our NOA1 is dated July 6 and we haven't been touched since July 12. I try not to worry about it but it's true that I put my hopes up high since some May filers got approved so quickly. I wish I knew whether I will have the visa in hand by the end of the year. Would make things so much easier with quitting my job, the appartment etc.. But I better forget about it . Best of luck to all of us, maybe some miracle will happen and they will speed up :clock:.
