Russia, Ukraine and BelarusPoll - Russian filers - Any delays with receipt of visa?
QUOTE (slim @ Apr 3 2008, 10:35 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'll add my fiancee's visa arrived all the way in Vladivostok after seven days.

This poll is very interesting. My Olya also lives in Vladivostok. A long way to Moscow sad.gif She wants to stayafter the interview and fly direct from Moscow to the U.S. While I am for this, I am also reluctant after Kevins experience. I think a good way to ask the question in my situation would be to those that have waited in Moscow to pick up there Visa from the DHL office? We are consdering purchasing tickets 9 days after the interview. Very Risky but the cost of flying back to Vladivostok and then going across the pond to Detroit would almost equal buying 2 more tickets from Moscow to Detroit . Any thoughts?

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusRussian software for computers
Just looking for some quick ideas to update my computer to make it more friendly for my fiance and her son once they arrive. When I went to the internet cafe in Vladivostok and in Odessa, Ukraine I noticed the computers were able to be switched to russian language and English language rather easilly by double clicking an icon on the bottom of the screen. Also, The key boards had Russian and English charectors on them. If the there is any computer genius that might be familr with any of this software, I would appreciate any tips. It would save from scatching my bald scalp as I surfed the web wondering if I could identify what I needed. While my Olya nows English reasonably well, I was thinking that making this conversion would aid both of them emailing back home where the parents and grandparents could get the email without having to have it translated .

Any thoughts?

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusMoscow June 2008 Interviews
I will post a review as soon as Olya and her son arrives. Olya can not explain things in detail over the phone but my general impression was the same as Kazan's. It was short, sweet, and painless. She will arrive Friday at 4pm and I will write a review in due time smile.gif)

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusMoscow June 2008 Interviews
My fiance had her interview on May 28th. While I do not have the exact details I believe that she had a fairly positive experience. My advice is to ensure you have plenty of documentation in regards to your affidavit of support and proof of your ongoing relationship. Finally she should relax and feel confident.
While i am sure that there are some rejections it seems that almost everyone That I have have met on this site has passed there interviews. The worst case scenario was that the visa was delayed in a few instances but eventually granted.
We had our interview on Wednesday and had our visa in hand by Saturday. She waited in Moscow with her son for her Visa. It was faster than I expected. She should arrive with her son this Friday. Good luck to all of you June interviewees ! May you be reunited soon !

Olga went to the interview carrying two 3 inch binders also. Very little was looked at but we were prepared , just in case they wanted something. I think its worth the inconvenience carrying it around just as added insurance. Good Luck!

Hi Mark, Olya's interview was on May 28th and she had Visa in on May 31st. But that was because she waited in Moscow. So if everything is in order I would allow at least a week just to be safe. Good LUCK !

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusK-1 Train Pulled Off On The Siding
Jeffery,
Glad to learn that she was approved but bummed that they would hold your time in Russia against you. Its great that you have someone to sponser you. But its really a bummer that you would haven to even do this. It really goes to show that many people that work in the government are pretty black and white on the regulations. If any of them were empowered to make a reasonable decision on there own there would be probably a lot less horror stories in the immigration process.
But I am happy you have a solution to there request. I guess Olya and I are up to bat next smile.gif May 28th. Hope we sail through.... I have gambled and purchased her and her sons airline tickets to the U.S. Olya is from Vladivostok and does not wish to fly back home so she will wait in Moscow with her son and fly here on June 6th pending eveything is successful. If not. My wallet takes a huge hit smile.gif
Hope everything is resolved and you and Alla are reunited soon smile.gif

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusRussian wisdom from Natasha
This is unbelievable ! I agree that everyone is entitled to there own opinion and what works for one may not work for the other. But I must say I think Kevin's story is priceless and I am looking forward to similiar situations with Olya and her Stas. As for the American way, Is there really an American way ? Are we not the melting pot? My hope is that we take the best aspects of both of our cultures and combine the best and go forward. Thats not to say that is right for all but it is for me ! Sometimes this Russian men versus American Men and Russian women versus American women is a little overblown. I love my Olya not because she is Russian but because of who she is. Actually, I wished she was from here and I could have skipped this process smile.gif Keep the good stories coming Kevin !

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow to Shake Your NOA2 Loose from the CSC
When weighing in on all the debate in this thread I would like to say that using this method is only appropriate when you are far enough along in the process and when others that have similar timelines to you are being approved. I think once you do see others being approved before you that have filed after you it becomes a source of frustration. Once you reach this point, it is good to get a piece of mind by calling. If you are reasonable with the CSC rep, you might find out what the status is of your case. As for me, it did give me a piece of mind and within 4 days of my call I was approved. I do think that my approval would have happened anyways at that time but at least my fear of waiting another 100 days was gone after my call. So my advice which may mean nothing to anyone is that you should only use T-Bones method when others within your on timeline are being approved in earnest smile.gif And for those have been waiting for 1 or 2 months, your time is coming, it will happan and for those that are waiting longer than 5 months my heart goes out to you and may you receive good news soon.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow to Shake Your NOA2 Loose from the CSC
Well T-Bone, I tried your approach today smile.gif I wanted to wait my turn in line but once I began seeing others that filed after me begin to get there approvalsI became a little weak smile.gif
I talked to a very nice person. We had a friendly banter and itturns out she is originally from Findlay, Ohio which is about 20 miles south of where I live herein Bowling Green, Ohio. ( Small World after all) She told me that my case was assigned to an officer on February 27th so Hopefully I will see an aprroval notice soon.
At this stage of the game, I think the wait is at its most unbearable stage. My hats off to everyone that has gone through this process and for those that have been here much, much longer. I hope that the process continues to speed up for everyone at CSC. I am very envious of VSC but I am happy that at least not everyone does not have to endure this wait. Have a great WEEKEND everyone smile.gif

Wow I just came home from work and read everyones posts. Thank YOU ! I will post details of her interview shortly after her arrival of June 6th. It really seems surreal that after all of the time that has passed that we will finally be together and be able to start the real journey upon her arrival.

Once again Thanks !!!!!!!!!:)))))

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlmost there !
What a way to start my day. Shortly I after I woke up my phone rang and I received the good news that Olga was approved at the Moscow consulate. The only details I was able to get about the interview was that she was interviewed by a young man and that he was very polite. Was told that she would receive the visa in a week.
The timing of her receipt of the visa is the only hurdle left. She is staying in Moscow to wait for the visa and hopefully she will have it in time for her and her sons flight to Detroit on June 6th! What a relief to be almost done !

What a wonderful feeling ! Good Luck everyone ! I will post her interview comments after she arrives smile.gif

Hello everyone. Just an update. I received an email today that our I-129F has been approved! It is on to Bogota!! We are so happy and thankful to all of you that have blazed this trail. It is exciting to see so much action in December. Yahoooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

As I said, one September filer has an NOA2 ... but they did post their forms in on 2007-08-27 sp maybe I am a day off!!!

I think you are both right ! It just depends on what you believe the filing date is. The date the I129 f is sent in or the NOA-1 notice is received. Its just your point of view smile.gif Lets just hope they get back to work soon and we see some progress. This time of year makes everyone frustrated with the wait. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSo far so good
I am happy to report that Olya and her son Stas arrived as scheduled June 6th. After a whirlwind week we were married on June 12th in a simple ceromony. So far there has not been any major challenges but continuing to learn English will be the number one focus along with deciding the best course of action for Stas to continue his education. He recently graduated high school in Russia. The interview in Moscow lasted about 15 to 20 minutes and was conducted by a very nice young man. He asked all the usual questions that you might expect like how did you meet, where did you meet, and when. There was nothing that was really unusual. It was not a bad experience. The POE was Detroit. It took about 2 hours to clear after the plane landed. Thanks for all the words of encoragement from everyone along the way. Now it is on to AOS.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for a NOA2 from CSC for your I-129F?
It really is refreshing and uplifting to read everyones posts. This process can really be a downer. Everyday I find myself marking off the calendar and wondering how much longer. Knowing that there are many that have been waiting since July or even longer is truly sad. The fact that they are not really approving them in order is really frustrating and really makes our timelines or estimates of approval invalid. It is also a real bummer that we are dependant on a large and bloated government agency that is very inefficient. Despite all of this I still believe that good things happan to good people and even though I have not been a very active participant in this forum I have read all of your posts every evening and I think my sanity has been preserved by all of you.
Mox, you have to be one of the most unselfish people here or anywhere. I hope your congressman will get an answer about the processing order. Actually I think that this is actually a good strategy to question CSC on. It may be a good subject for everyone to question there congressmen or women smile.gif about. The manner in which they are approving them gives the appearance that they are very unorganized and that files are getting misplaced or whatever the case may be.
So once again A Big Thanks to everyone and lets not lose hope and may CSC awaken and all of us move to the next stage !
Oh Yes...I really miss my OLYA VERY MUCH !

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for a NOA2 from CSC for your I-129F?
Valentines Week turned out to be a real downer at CSC wacko.gif It would truly be nice to see all the July and longer filings get approved. I really feel for everyone that has been waiting for that long. When I fist joined this site back in October it seemed like the wait was about 4 months , 2 or 3 weeks till the NOA - 2 was issued. It is frustrating to see everyone that has waited sooooo long and to realize that the process is not really improving. While there is really little or nothing that can be done to make the situation better, its nice to know that none of us are alone. It is also great that Igor and STP have made the lists for us all. Its really great and it is also nice to read the some of your posts. We do have a lot of talented comedians here smile.gif
Lets hope that this coming week will be better despite the government holiday !
All the best and may the approvals be plentiful !
