I went through Jordan and I am friends with many others who have also been through Jordan. Not one of us was asked for supporting evidence at the interview(I was at the interview with hubby), so if you are thinking about printing a million pages of skype, whatsapp, email ect to bring to the interview it is a waste of time, I would bring a little supporting evidence, maybe some pictures and a few pages of other correspondence, but other than that it isn't needed, 99% the CO won't even ask. This is a complete list of everything you will need at the Amman Embassy, this is a country specific list so make sure you check and recheck it, there are things on this list that are not required for other countries. http://jordan.usemba...s_required.html

You will send only copies of the originals to the NVC in PDF form, as Amman is 100% electronic consulate, and your wife must bring all original copies PLUS a photocopy of each thing to the interview. Best of luck and if you have an further questions feel free to inbox me. Everyone at the embassy in Amman is kind, considerate and very professional, your wife will have a good experience there.

I don't know where you get your information, but six months of pay stubs are not required. A letter from the employer and/or a few months pay stubs are sufficient. On my husband's I-864(he is from Jordan) all I had was an employment letter with my salary and conformation I worked there and for how long I was employed, no pay stubs.

Thank you mimi for the help! Looks like Ill be finishing everything up from over there as I have all of it ready just waiting for NVC to receive my case. I leave Friday so hopeful for a quick finish! And Ive heard many great things about the embassy in Amman. Been there many times. Love it!

Your dad will fill also fill out an I-864, not an I-864A.  I-864 is for combining income and you don't have any income (per your admission) to combine.

I should have asked that...I thought it was the 864A but now I know its not! Thanks for the correction! :)

your AOS and DS 230 (with civil documents) are the main things needed for the NVC stage. anyprevious marriages/divorces for the beneficiary is nneded at this stage. gather supporting documents that you have of your relationship overtime if she has them ith her and build fe more that could come inhandy during interview. Like visiting key members of both family and taking pics with them. Attnding evnts together, you know pics in 'unposed' environment.

True...Im going to start printing on whatsapp conversations and when I sent her money and stuff to show our relationship over the past 9 months ive been gone and plane tickets from before and also this trip as well. Ill see if she ever took any pics with my grandfather while visiting him a few times. Thanks a bunch!

D'oh! Sorry! laughing.gif

Your Dad should also get his pay stubs for the last six months, an employment letter from his boss, and some way to prove his US citizenship (a photocopy of his passport would work just fine). Also, even though your Dad is your co-sponsor, you still have to fill out the I-864 like him, and (assuming you're employed) provide all the same documents as him.

yeah my dad is the business owner so Im assuming the pay stubs and employment letter etc isnt needed he will just need to prove he is the owner and provide taxes for it right? I do not work so I will fill out the I-864 and he will do the I-864A since we will be in his household and he will have to make 125% more than the poverty line. Ill get him to copy his passport.

Definitely take advantage of your trip to get your hubby's docs in order! There are a few things he's going to need to get, so I would definitely try to get it done soon, considering some countries take a while to get police records, or birth certificates.

Here's a super helpful link that outlines the NVC process and all the necessary docs.

http://www.visajourn...p/EZGuideSpouse

Maybe before you go, you can try to get your AOS paperwork so that way if your case number and payments come through while you're abroad, you can send them out immediately? Just a thought. Good luck! smile.png

My wife is the one who is in Jordan lol. Shes already got her police certificate, birth certificate. Shes good to go. My co-sponser is my father and hes done with his taxes everything just needs to get the records so we can get it ready to send in. Those are just the main things I have ready. What else would I need to prepare before I depart to see the wifey?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresChecklist

For EP, you'll always get the photograph checklist, I did.  But in my package I sent scanned copies of the photos just to show I had them.

It looks like they need the birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport bio data page and police certificate.  How were these sent? They need to be all in ONE PDF file attachment.  Saylin has a good section on how to scan everything and send it.   You don't need most of her wiki but that part could be beneficial: http://www.visajourn...ew_Online_Forms

Make sure they're clear and legible scans.  It's possible they're just reminding you to bring the originals to the interview but you could also call and double check with the NVC.

We probably should make up a wiki for mandatory EP cases not just optional to help out the people in those countries.

Did you sent the scanned tax transcripts or returns with the I-864?  They do not require originals of those documents, generally speaking, if you sent the scanned version but will require the original I-864.

I wrote a letter with the I-864 stating my wife will be bringing the tax transcripts to the interview as I have heard from many that is acceptable as long as I send in the I-864. Everything else Ive emailed and sent in PDF attachment. I guess ill wait and see what I need to do. Thanks :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresChecklist

Hey everyone. Long time no post! I was overseas with my wife but I had to come back and handle a few things here. But Ill be back over there when we know about the interview date hopefully :)

I just checked my email today just to see whats going on and I see I got a checklist. Theres one for my wife and one for me. Heres what mine says:

1. Financial evidence: Ive already provided this and stated the wife will be bringing tax originals to the interview.

2. Birth Certificate: Im assuming since everything is all electronic processing with Amman, that the scanned copy I had put in the email would be suffice enough. And the original would be brought to the interview.

3. Marriage certificate: Same as above.

3. Photograph: Again...you cant provide them via email or scanned so I have them ready for the interview.

I did all these things from the start. The thing is I dont think this checklist is for me...I believe its for my wife because her checklist says the following:

1. Passport: (Please submit a copy of the biographic data page of this person's passport, including the expiration date of the passport. The passport must be valid).

2. Jordanian Police Certificate

See I was waiting to grab the right certificate for my wife and we did and send in the biographic data page with the passport. So in all does this checklist and everything all about the passport and police certificate for my wife? Thats what Im thinking. I dont know im just so ready to finish this long process and bring my wife back here with me. Cant wait to here the words "Case Complete" and finally have our interview date. But anyways...anyone have any idea or help? :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHello Again...

Hello everyone. Never thought I would ever be back on this site again lol. But here I am! Good to see you all! Sure have not missed the immigration process at all!

Im posting on behalf of my sister. Shes currently in the NVC process. Her husband has filed out the AOS. Now its her turn.

Question:

1. Does she need to write a letter about the intention of my father co-sponsoring her and her husband or just fill out the I 864 and have my father fill out the same?

Her husband is in Palestine...and they are filing thru Palestine. So any help would be grateful!

2. How is everybody? Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong forum. The intent of this thread is to question about AOS for my sister.

Thank you :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy awkward situation...

I say bring in a letter to withdraw the I-864 on that interview day,

talk with the floor supervisor (only)

and

get the I-864 formally withdrawn, not leave the building till you have a formal letter of withdrawal, signed by a USCIS staffer, in yer hand.

as to what might have happened - dunno - Atlanta is a screwy office...

Okay cool. Thats what I plan on doing. Plan on bringing all the email between the USCIS and NVC and I and the letters they sent me. I plan not to leave until I get an official letter stating that this case is completely closed. Thanks Darnell. Hope everything is going well with you!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy awkward situation...

Hello again visa journey. It sure has been a while. Never thought I would come back here but I am. My ex-wife and I were at the final stages of the NVC when a situation unfolded and we got divorced. I cancelled and ended the process thru the NVC and USCIS and everything was good. I thought the situation was done until...

I received a letter on May 7, 2014 from the Atlanta local field office director, Paul Onyango, stating that my case was closed and the previous decision was revoked. They even stated that it was the same date I had ended the process, September 27, 2013. I was cool with everything about the letter until May 9, 2014 I received a I-797C notice of action letter stating that they were treating the case as reopened. I read on the previous letter that you cannot appeal a decision but you may file a I-128B (I think, the letter is not infront of me) to reopen the case. The 797C stated that they would send me a notice later with a decision.

This is all awkward and confusing because I did not file anything and have not touched anything immigration related for my ex or anyone for that matter since September. I called USCIS customer service center yesterday...finally got to a tier 2 immigration officer and she stated she didnt see where the case was closed. She told me to go up to the Atlanta field office where the first letter was from and to show them what was going on to cancel it. I made the appointment for June 2. Hoping everything will be done and over. My question is...

Do you think my ex may have tried to reopen her case without me? Would this potentially be a touch by the USCIS and they want to reopen it? I am completely confused as to what may be going on. Anyone ever experienced this before? Any input is greatly appreciated!

Hey there..I have a silly question but need some help. I am going through a divorce and almost finished (yay) so now me and my fiance are wondering once my divorce is finalized the law states I cannot get married till 60 days after the judges signing. So what we were wondering is if it is safe to mail in the i-129f because we know the fiance visa process will take longer than 60 days but is it okay to send in the request to get things started?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust curious I am right about this?

If you file EAD and AP with AOS, you don't have to pay any additional fee for EAD and AP, as Darnell said (FYI, I-485 is what you will have to file for AOS)

You should read this in addition to the guide, this is great: http://www.visajourn...-list-included/

and go dig into the AOS forums...

good luck!

Advanced Parole; so the beneficiary can leave the country while waiting for AOS. (and you're aware that AOS is applied for after you're married, right? Not as soon as he arrives).

Sorry if I mistyped that, I meant that after he comes here on his fiance visa and we get married he will apply for AOS and EAD.

I should be asking, okay square one, once we get married..whats the next step? I feel so bad for being so confused.

Just thinking of some pointers and if we need to seriously start buckling down and save like mad people while we wait for our fiance visa. So my question is, once my fiance moves here we should put in an adjustment of status right? But also he should put in a EAD( Employment Authorization Document ) as well since he wants to work while we're waiting on the AOS to come through. Is this correct or am I reading too much and letting this all go over my head? Sorry with all the daft questions but I want to plan ahead a little bit since I don't want hick ups when he comes.

Hi Guys,
Just had a question. When I was making copies of my birth certificate the front did fine but the back didn't show up with the watermarks so as a precaution I made a copy of every page of my passport. Do you think I should be fine sending both copies in for my I-129F?

Here's a pretty detailed explanation on what they test for in the medical from the Ukrainian consulate. Just start from page 2, as 1st page is instructions on where to do it in Ukraine. I assume it should be very similar in other countries too, as they have a standard that they must follow:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTax transcripts

ah fantastic information..thank you so much for all the info!

Yes you can use a complete tax return printed off TurboTax. To be complete, it must be the tax return forms and schedules, AND the W2 statement from the employer stating the total income for that tax year. Or the income may be shown on a form 1099 if it is not from an employer. Examples of people who get 1099s are contractors, pensioners, social security recipients to name a few common ones. A copy of the tax return without the wage statement is not complete. Reason? I could go fill out tax forms right now, make up a big salary, and sign it. The wage statement is needed to backsup the income you report on the return.

In the print function of TurboTax choose "only forms required for filing". Otherwise you will get masses of paper depending on the return. The pages to include will be called Form xxxx or Schedule xx. If it says at the top "Summary" or "Worksheet" or "thank you for choosing TurboTax" then it's extra rubbish not needed. My return has Form 1040, Schedule B, C, D, SE, and maybe others. A simple return might have only form 1040 or 1040A. The schedules come in if you earn interest or dividends, itemize deductions, are self-employed, farm, have rental property, sell things like stock, etc. Everybody's will be different.

The beauty of a tax transcript is that you don't have to send forms, schedules, W2 wage statements, etc. it's all summarized and verified by the IRS in a tidy few pages.

You can also call 1-800-908-9946 the transcript line to order over the automated phone system. If you no longer live at the address that was on the tax return, I don't believe the automated systems will work. They only send those out to the address as written on the return. You would have to fill out the Form 4506T and mail or fax it in http://www.irs.gov/p...-pdf/f4506t.pdf

Sorry to add on to this topic but is there any way I could use my tax return from Turbo Tax? (yes yes which page should I print out?)

For some odd reason I keep trying to go through the IRS automated system and it said it can't complete the request for my tax return form.. Just trying to find alternative solutions

Thanks Guys!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about income for being a sponsor

Plan on your mother doing the I-134. But by the time he has an interview, it will likely be September and you could provide one also with a letter from your new employer stating your salary rate. Nothing financial is sent to London prior the interview, so time is on your side. This thread may help you with London. http://www.visajourn...terview-thread/

Okay that helps a lot .. still questions popping up in my head but slowly crossing those bridges when they come..but nice to know I have something stable in the future for AOS as a sponsor lol :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about income for being a sponsor

My fiance and I just got our NOA2 as the 20th of June(yay!) and we're getting things together for when he gets his packet but I had a question..Right now I do not make enough money for being a sponsor so I am going to ask my mother to be our co sponsor(which she doesn't mind) but today I got offered a new job which makes me well over the income requirements(woohoo!) But I don't start till the 17th of August. Should I just continue to ask my mom for help or wait till I start my new job and be the only sponsor? Because I haven't started yet and when he gets his packet I guess is what this all boils down to. Sorry my question is all over the place :P

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support

For London, they only need a sponsor. If you are needing a co-sponsor, then it is my understanding that for London all you will need is the I-134 and financial documents from the co-sponsor only. http://www.visajourn...read/?p=5136467

That puts me at ease lol we are inching closer to things coming soon ex his medical is tuesday..I am just starting to go into my worry mode :P

Thanks for answering :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support

Sorry to chime in on this topic cause it has me curious, with the UK I know I asked this a while back but need to confirm. Do I need to fill out a Affidavit of Support even if I don't make the required income and also have my mother fill one out if I need her as a co spnsor for the K1 process? Or do I just have her do one for my fiance?

Many Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Fiance Visa Question About Expiration

My husband entered the US in September with his K1 Visa and he just had his EAD appointment today for his bio-metrics. We noticed his K1 expires in a month, does anyone know what we do if he doesn't receive his EAD before the K1 expires?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCalled my Senator's office - Didn't end well.

conversation with a gentleman about where we were flying to and I told him I was off to see my fiance in the UK and he was on his way to Washington DC. Long story short he gave me his business card and promised he would do anything to help us with our fiance process I thanked his generosity and put his card in my wallet and didn't think much of it. He even walked me to my connection flight since this was the first time I flew by myself out of the country. After our good byes and bidding each other a safe trip to our next destination I looked at his business card and it read "Senator Jeff Sessions" and thought..why would he give me my state senators card..I ended up Googling the name and omg it was the guy who helped me! Doh!!   wacko.png

Sadly I never spoke to him again but I did call his office and they did check on the status of my process and pretty much told me everything I know already which was frustrating. So I feel like every time I feel like there might be some help is another dead end.

But the truth is we all have different senators and people in their offices are willing to be there for us, and some are just butts. In the end we just have to stick together and just hope every day brings us two steps closer to our loves and not ten steps back. Sure its annoying to see someone approved at 3 months and others takes a half of a year. But we will get there in time

Sorry I felt like rambling tonight and had to vent a little too heart.gif

We didn't use a lawyer and we filed in February 2013 and approved by June 2013. This is a great site with great people to help answer any questions to help you along your journey with your visa process :) good luck
