ChinaIM SO WORRIED
I don't know your circumstances, but a call to the call center would probably be the first thing I would do.

Hey.

Yea if I got the NVC paperwork with K-3 on it I would be worried. But I worry a lot for no reason anyway. That is my nature! smile.gif

Anyway, I hope you get a letter soon or find out what the deal is.

I feel for you guys!

Wichelle called today and she got an appointment for November 7th!! I am actually worried that wont be enough time to get all the paper work and medical stuff done but it was her call. Who would have thunk it??? Apparently they had one for November 4th but she has to wait for her CENOMAR, which will be available on the 6th for pickup. Lets hope there are no hidden delays with her CENOMAR or NBI Clearance.....boy oh boy am I nervous/excited/happy/apprehensive now!

I got another NVC letter dated 10/21. Same letter as I got dated on the 17th. Not sure what is up with that! NVC said they had sent it out on 10/16. Really confusing for someone who has not been through it! smile.gif So, yea we received the interview authorization but we have to wait until Monday (tomorrow) to call. I will keep you updated.

Hey!

We got our letter from the embassy confirming that we can now schedule an appointment! Gotta wait until Monday but we are both very happy! I guess it looks as though we were way to impatient. We will be calling Monday to get an appointment. I will let everyone know what date we get.

FYI: Letter was dated 10/23. Received 10/25. NVC had sent out our petition on 10/16 to the embassy in Manila.

YAY!!

Alright, so let me get this straight. They will let me (US CITIZEN) schedule this interview but they wont let my fiance? ARGH. I called the NVC and they said they sent my petition on 10/16/08. It takes maybe 5 days for the embassy to get the petition via DHL, right? So, on Monday should I call and attempt to schedule the interview? Is there any wisdom in spending the money to call so soon? Am I being extremely impatient?

Thanks,

I think what I will do is call back in a few days. I am way to impatient to wait. LOL! There is no way I will let them lose my paperwork. I know since both of our last names are S we are on the bottom of the pile.

We shall press on!

We are in the same boat. My fiance called the manila embassy call center and was told that she could not schedule until she received the appointment letter. I believe she called the same day as you did. I received the letter from the NVC saying they will send my petition to the embassy and I also received my MNL case number.

It seems like we are behind everyone else as far as the whole process goes.

So, should I have her call again? Should we wait for the appointment letter?

Thanks,

We were approved yesterday! Manila ACCEPTS co-sponsor if the circumstances are right. Maybe not everyone but it is definitely possible! I had my self convinced we would be denied! WOOOOT

Right, my dad is the one who filled out the I-134 since he is the bread winner. So, basically you are saying that we have to wait and see and stress out everyday until the interview? LOL....arghhhh

Hell Everyone.

With my fiances interview scheduled for 11/7/08 and her physical completed and fees paid I have a new concern based on some of the reading I have done on this forum and others.

In a previous post I asked if two I-134s could be submitted at the interview. One from myself and one from my parents. Most of you said I should have no problem. Recently I have been reading conflicting evidence.

Maybe someone here can give me some insight?

My situation: I have no job. I have tax returns for the last 3 years but they are all well below poverty level. I have $10,000 in the bank that I inherited. I am actively searching for work. I spent a total of about 10 months in the Philippines where I stayed with my Fiance and opened an Internet Cafe. I am 22 years old. We have been together since September of 2006. I recently got back from the Philippines this Month. Also, my parents make more than $90,000 a year and have $107,000 in the bank. We submitted both of those things (bank statement and employment letter) with their I-134. They also expressed their willingness in letters to the CO. All the paperwork is in the mail to my fiance. My I-134 contains neither an employment letter or a letter from the bank.

I am thinking doom and gloom at this point. What does everyone think?

Thanks,

-Tyson

We had an Internet Cafe in Muntinlupa City.

It was not really profitable but I learned a lot and had a fun time.

Anyone from Oregon or nearby? I think Wichelle will need some Filipina friends!

Hello Everyone!

You may have been following our other posts about the I-134, Co-sponsorship and Manila. We were really worried about it since I have nowhere near the required income level. Even though my parents were sending in their own I-134 and acting as a joint sponsor we had read everywhere that Manila would not accept an I-134 from a third party other than the Sponsor. Actually, we learned it is a BIG maybe. Lots of misinformation and conflicting opinions out there! Keep in mind that it does depend a lot on your specific life circumstances!

Well after weeks of worrying we were approved on 11/7/08. kicking.gif

I did not have an employment letter included in my I-134. I did, however, have 3 years of tax returns (all under poverty level) and I wrote a letter describing how I am looking for a job actively. It seems everything is falling into place because I was accepted at a company yesterday! She also made an effort to prove I had opened a business in the Philippines with her, which I provided the capital for. Other than that my Fiance brought pictures of my parents and her and me together in the Philippines along with a letter from them stating how they would be happy to provide her with the basics until I am able to support us both. I think that went a long way since we will all be living in the same house. Anyway, there are a lot of other details about our case that probably had an effect but mostly it was just how well Wichelle presented our case. She had every piece of evidence you could imagine. All of which we learned about from the site.

To everyone out there with a similar issue all you need to do is research everything thoroughly and DO NOT be LAZY about your evidence and your interview preparation. Make sure all your paperwork is inline and come to the interview prepared beyond what is expected.

If anyone has any questions let me know.

PhilippinesK1 applicants not allowed to have a co-sponsor?
I have my interview last Nov. 7, 2008 and I get approved!!!!

But I use co-sponsor and that works well, as long you have all the documents required.
My Fiance's ITR mark "DO NOT FILE" but I still use it, you have to present it clear and don't make a negative statement.
Like instead of using "he did not earn much" or "he is not earning enough to file"as a reason make it sound "that's what he is earning so far and I trust him that he will improve blah blah blah" just make a positive statement and be enthusiastic. Aldo it's important that you give all info for the first interviewer they are the one get your evidence and don't hesitate to tell him why you need to give particular evidence, specially if your case is a little bit complicated. If its not common the filipino that will interview you will write something about your case that the consul will base his question. SO don't think they are only pre- screener they are not only the person will get your stuff.

Goodluck

Please clarify. Does that mean she will be denied based on my income level? What other options do I have, if any?

I thought I had it all figured out until I found out the Manila Embassy was different.

Thanks,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffadavit of Support (I am confused)
Hello All,

This is the sponsor typing. My Fiancé and I are really confused about the income requirements and co-sponsor route.

We just got our NOA2 and I am beginning to worry about the next steps of the process.

My Fiancé is from Manila, Philippines and I just read online in a few places that the US Embassy in Manila does not accept anything except the petitioners financial support information. IS THIS TRUE? Do they not allow a co-sponsor? Are we out of luck if I do not meet the poverty guidelines?

My parents are more than happy to file as a sponsor for her and easily meet the financial requirements.

So, will she be denied? Will they accept my parents as the sponsor or co-sponsor?

Thanks,

Tyson Stockton
