US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionVISA APROBADA - tips

can someone chime in here? this seems all a bit to strange. would they ask this in warsaw? i read countless warsaw interviews and most of them were a few questions about how we met and what we will do and they were done... wth is this talk about kinky sex??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresstaples or paperclips?

I used paperclips for grouping sets of forms and then one heavy duty binder clip to keep it all together.

that is exactly what i was thinking. thank you. i have another question regarding blank spaces. i filled out the forms as per the examples and there are a fewspaces left completely blank. but i was reading that you shouldnt leave anything blank. which is correct?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresproof in different language?

You can and should translate things, but I am not sure that movie tickets show much. Since they don't have names on them (unless they do in Poland) then they only show that two people went to the movies - it doesn't say show that those people were you. It doesn't show that you met, so I would just skip them altogether.

i have on my Credit card bill the same date and time and amount of money that i bought those tickets so it shows that i bought them and 2 people went to the movies in POLAND, its to show that i was in poland and that atleast to show someone was with me. i rather send it than not, more evidence is better than less i think. and more proof that i was there with someone else is good i think that along with our pictures and bank statements showing withdrawals a few streets away from her home should put some common sense to CO that i was where i said i was. its pretty hard to show them that 2 people were together using CC statements and passport stamps, IMO pictures are the number one proof they should be looking for, but i digress. :\

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshow many pictures?

Please enlighten me what strength or weakness of currency has to do with it.
Not to mention, exchange rate doesn't say anything about currency strength either.

25 pictures is too many, IMHO. I would use 10 max and staple them 2 to the page (5 pages total).

I guess im just using the correlation between the economical strength of the EU to that of a embassy in a poorer country i.e high fraud. sorry for the confusion...

in the guide it says to attach 2 to 5 pictures of us together. but i have about 25 pictures and as im holding them it feels like a bit much. should i limit the amount of pictures or is front loading this a good thing. i have been reading that at the warsaw embassy its pretty relaxed on all that considering the EU has stronger currency than even the US. sny help is greatly appreciated. thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisa Denied

its not a surprise to get a denial for no reason in a very poor country. that is the point of the interview. so the CO can feel you out. the government gives them the power to decide. and in a place with a absurdly high risk of fraud they go in it skeptical to begin with. you are guilty until proven innocent, in a country that not many people go to school at all and this man knows English  that is enough of a red flag for a CO to deny. its sad but necessary, there is so much fraud that gets through its alarming. i have seen it first hand and its sad. there are probably people posting here that are asking these questions to help their fradulent activities. its a grey area in this forum but it is a sad reality that fraud happens and it always will when you are fighting like a dog in the street for a better life no matter the cost, no matter the hurt you put on someone else, its a dog eat dog world and these CO's know that, they are trained to see what some people will do for a green card and a ticket out of extreme poverty, i dont blame them for trying to do there jobs, and of course there will be some racist or some that are just more bitter, but they are human like you and me. you can only hope for the best and plan for the worst.

that being said i got my noa1 today. and im just beggining this journey, i just hope my CO will have an ounce of compassion for me and my future wife, because we have been through enough, it does help that my embassy is not a high risk one but thats the luck of the draw.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBiggest Age Difference

i believe that this is an issue based on bad publicity, track record, and common sense. obviously this is only just an opinion, but i read about a girl that is 21 and her husband is 65. let your common sense kick in here. in 20 years he will be 85 and she will be 41, that is a statement that speaks for itself. there is no explanation needed to tell you what is wrong there, and of course the lower the age you go the less of an issue it is. now everyone has there own line to draw at making that determination, i PERSONALLY think that  anything over 12 or 13 years is pushing what society deems as appropriate, and obviously this is my OPINION and i DON'T CARE who gets married and i know i WILL BE FLAMED to hell in this thread, but this is my opinion so DEAL WITH IT ;) but seriously though if you 2 are TRULY TRULY in love that is SOO AWESOME and i wish the best for you both. if that girl or guy is playing you like a Jim Belushi on a harmonica then that is the lowest life form on this earth and needs to be truly unhappy for their entire lives. again this is only opinion :D and even though i think that 20 year difference is CRAZY who the hell am i to you? nobody. so don't worry about the naysayers and live your lives. i know i will.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of on going relationship

You actually have it backwards. What you need to send now is proof of having met in the last 2 years, not ongoing relationship. What you HAVE TO INCLUDE NOW IS: "passport stamps , plane  boarding passes , travel itinerary and hotel receipts" if you don't include all of those now it will be RFE'd. If you already included these things than sending all of that you listed before is not necessarily necessary, but it wont hurt.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134a

well the time has come for me to send the 134-a to my fiance. i got about 6 paystubs under my belt as well as a retirement account  and an official letter stating my salary and that i stand to make $34,000 this year. sweet..dancin5hr.gif . so i went against using my aunt as a co sponsor for the fact that we are not so close and im not sure i want to ask that of her anymore. i feel this income is more than sufficient to satisfy there support needs. going by the 125% poverty guidelines witch is $19,500 for 2  people  i dont think it will be a problem, but my paranoia is not my best trait. what do you guys and girls think?unsure.png

Jose&KarolinaMalePoland2013-10-12 16:16:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134a

Thats all good advice. I will just add that if you are not going to wait until you have a few pay subs under your belt, at least wait until you start the job. Get a letter from the head of the department you're working for. A letter with official letterhead stating your position, annual salary and that it is permanent work, the department head would sign it stating their position and inviting any follow up questions to them. The more official the better. And get your sponsor to sign an I-864 and show income over 125% of poverty level for AOS, not just the 100% for k-1 visa. Have all of this available at the interview.

By the way, how much evidence of ongoing relationship did you send with your I-129F petition?

i was thinking about that and im not sure if it would be better to do what you said or do it with my current job, just for the fact that i have more time under my belt. my aunt makes way over 125% and all the documents she will give me with the 134a will show that. i was thinking of doing that exact thing that you said. start my new job and have my supervisor sign an official paper stating all of my information.

for my 129f i just sent a bunch of our first emails and reciepts for flowers i sent her. my embassy is said to not be a front loading one and i sent the basics. for the interview i will send all of our skype phone call logs and some chat ones, its all we have really because all of our communication is through skype (its the 21st century). and being a long distance relationship what more could we do? skype is free and awesome i see her like she is with me all the time.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134a

Shouldn't be a problem, but is wise to have a backup.

You still have a couple of months until interview. From past experience, which seems to be the same in recent couples; the Warsaw Embassy is not terribly hard; but they do seem to make a decision before hand and the interview is just crossing the t's; reason I'm saying this is because many have reported very short interviews with very few simple questions: ours was 10 min and 3 questions

Is because of that that I added the backup plan: in your I-134 you can attach a page to give a bit more detail of your new job and salary. Stick to the facts: when it started, what is the salary, contract or permanent position,

I think that your age would play a factor: I mean, if you are younger -say up to mid 20s; then it is 'normal' that you are changing to a better job and that you didn't have a big paying one before; the change to a better paying also helps the case that you want to support your wife. Also, it shows a progression to better jobs/higher salaries.

Not to say that if you were older it could be a red flag; plenty of people just like to live within their means and have a life to live outside an office. Not everybody wants to sign for a 30 year mortgage or have the latest and greatest cars and gadgets.

The backup refers to having your aunt co-sponsor you with a i-134. You could choose to have it handy for the interview such that if there is any questioning, your fiancee will have a quick refutal

Now notice the 134 is non binding and really is just an indicator -and a very light indicator at best; to the Embassy that you would be able to support both. Once you AoS-adjust status you will have another form that IS a binding contract; if you still are counting on aunt, that might become a bit touchy: whoever sponsors could be on the hook for many years.

Anyhow, back to your question, I don't think it would be a big issue, but better be prepared. If you have some $ in accounts/investments, list those as to show you have emergency funds you could tap. Obviously, if you have real state list it. You will have a few paychecks to support your financial stance and that is all what you need to have.

Good luck

thanks for the info. i am definitely going to use my aunt as a co sponsor. i am in my early twenties so i am definitely just starting out financially, the only problem is weather or not to try and wait until i start my new job or just use my old job. my old job clearly doesnt meet the guidlines they use, my new one surpasses it completely. so by that viewpoint it would be better to put the new one so they wouldnt have a reason to fail me in that aspect.

the way you are phrasing it seems like my cospnsor might not even be used. if i use my current job i will most definitaly need a co sponsor. by the time aos comes around with my income i wont need her sponsorship im thinking.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134a

here is my story so far... i just received my noa2 after only 77 days from noa1 (is that some kind of record?).

i currently am employed at the home depot part time and make about $15k a year... pitiful. i am not trying to bring my wife here to struggle so i am started a new career. and that being said i was recently hired as an 911 telecommunicator in a police department making $31k a year. the problem is i haven't started yet. my start date should be in about a week. so basically I'm in between jobs. and im not sure what to do about my 134a. if i could hold off for atleast a few weeks i could maybe start and get a weeks pay or 2 weeks and fill it out with that salary or should i just fill it out and leave my almost current job completely out of it. with my new salary i make enough for a family of four, but with my current not enough for even myself.

my only savior is my aunt who is more than willing to sponsor me. she makes over $50k a year as a fire rescue dispatcher (yea its a family business lol) and that's enough for an 8 family household. its currently only her and her daughter and one person she sponsored before so that would be three plus me and my fiance only five so that should be fine as well. so i would not be worried at all if i had at least 2 months on my new job until i had my noa2 in my hand but things don't always pan out how you want them to.

what should i do? im kind of in an awkward position now with my financials. thanks in advance

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember 2013 TSC Filers

our NOA1 is dated from nov 1st and still no NOA2. sigh.

it's taking its toll on me, and i don't really know why so i guess i'll just vent here can i?

i have a rent here until july so there is absolutely NO rush for me to go. on top of that, the longer we're apart, the more money we can save up so our lives together start in a more comfortable cushion. i also know that there is no evident reason for our case to be denied, we even have a sponsor to make sure that it's okay financially but i keep having those what ifs thoughts about details.

but it just drives me nuts. i'm getting super anxious about it even though, just like all of you, i can't do anything about it. hopefully i'll hear from our case before christmas. at least i get to see him for new years. i honestly don't know how i would've coped with the holidays alone on top of all that waiting.

i just have to deal with it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG325a question (last address outside the us...)

Hello!

I'm currently getting started with my fiance with our K-1 paperwork. exciting!

I'm filing my G325a and i have a question regarding the 'Applicant's last address outside the United States of more than 1 year' line.

i haven't been living in my current address for more than a year, and i have to go back 2 addresses to fill that criteria. So do i write my current address or the last one i've been living in for more than a year?

Sorry if my question sounds stupid, i'm a francophone and this phrasing really bugs me and my fiance isn't sure either.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi-134 affidavit of support - duration of employment?

So my fiance's income covers the required limit, but not by too much. However, it's only because he got a new job a little under 6 months ago. We also both have savings (his + mine + some bonds he has) for over 8000$. His job is permanent.

The question is : should we get a co-sponsor or would this be too much trouble for no reason?
