I will be thinking of you, as I am jumping out of my seat right now at work as John calls and gives me an update every few hours for the past two days letting me know how much closer he is to "home". He is driving across the upper United States and should be in Michigan and HOME in about 5 hours or so! Very exciting to have our loved ones FINALLY with us, at HOME! Oh, and I LOVE that you are getting married by Elvis So glad to hear that John is HOME! I can't wait for teh wedding next Friday! My fiance' has his visa in HAND! It came today (exactly 2 months until our wedding) just before 11 a.m. I am so relieved! It actually was quick from when it was recorded on the Canada post website to now. We are going to get married July 11, 2010! It is good to be almost to the POE! I have been waiting all week for the Montreal consulate to mail out my fiance's passport but still Canada post can't find the tracking number in its system. ARGH! They only send mail on Mondays through Friday's in Canada so it means the earliest it would be mailed out is on Monday, May 10. I just want my fiance' to have it in his hands. He hasn't told his boss yet that he is leaving permanently at the end of July. My fiance' is waiting until he has the visa in hand to do that. My fiance' did call his landlord though and give his 2 month notice that he is moving out of his apartment and that she can rerent it on July 1. To celebrate, we saw Iron Man 2 at an IMAX theatre - bwuahaha, it was released in Brasil first. And it was AWESOME, and nearly made me late for my plane! Now I am thinking I need to start reading AOS forums so I can get ready for that. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2009 K-1 Visa filers	Ok, so I REALLY want to put "APPROVED" all over the place, but ..... John's Visa is "approved pending further documentation". Apparently they didn't like my divorce documents and want "State seals" on them. ah, well.... it's an easy fix, just more time consuming and delays (having to request the same documents AGAIN and paying for them AGAIN). Doesn't really affect us in the least as John isn't planning to activate his K-1 until May 11th or so, but I just wanted to be done with it! John said the interview was very easy .... they did not take some of his paperwork (he doesn't remember what exactly ... ) and we think it was because he did D-230 online. The guy interviewing him asked very few questions, did not ask for any supporting evidence of our relationship (no pics, no phone records, nada), just told him to get the certified "with seals" documents to him along with his passport and they will return it to him within two days with his Visa inside. SUPER easy! John also said that there were two other non-immigrant Visa applicants there, another K-1 and a K-3, and they both walked out needing additional documentation as well. The K-1 needed a criminal waiver (ouch!) and the K-3 for divorce documents as well. Ah, Beth, I hope that you are able to get that paperwork to Vancouver! Adds a bit more pressure for a May 23rd wedding though, hah! I'm just glad we finally know the date. Hope things keep moving along for everyone else!!! Yeah, my fiance' and I just confirmed our July 11, 2010 date now that we have our immigration interview date. Two months seems like a much better in between time than 2 weeks. I called on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 4 p.m. on a whim thinking, well, back in Jan. they assigned some interview dates. Gave the woman (Lois) the beneficiary's name and birthdate and asked if an interview date had a been assigned. Lo and behold his interview date at Montreal consulate is May 3, 2010! It is a whole 6 weeks earlier than I expected! It is great to know though so we can start making plans for his moving here and such. I am so excited, relieved, and grateful! Yeah! Now the wait for the interview date begins. There is someone who submitted their packet 3 forms on Jan. 18 that still doesn't have an interview date yet for Montreal. I am praying my fiance' gets a date in late May, Early June. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2009 K-1 Visa filers	well everybody u wont believe this...... my bf when to his congress man last week he called to USCIS and they sent him an email that we were approval the January 26, my bf have the NOA2 that we were approval and they say to the congressman the same and that they sent it to the NVC it have been 6 week since that soupose happen......NVC have been telling us that they dont have the file thats mean that they said the same to the congress ma,n our surprise today is that for some reason i when to the USCIS web page and they said that we were approved TODAYYYYYYYYY...... can u believe this...... i bet they lost our file and then when the congressman start asking where the file is, they figure out that they lost it and do all the process again.......ggggggggggrrrrrrrrrr...... we lost 6 week im so piss off with this Hopefully, this means that the papers will get to NVC this time!	lilacvioletiris	Female	Canada	2010-03-10 12:26:00

No news since then. Is this normal? My fiance called the immigration service number and they told her they're still processing september applicants and that we'll have to wait. Is there any truth to this? And is there any course of action you can recommend? Thanks in advance! YES, this could be normal. There are still a few others that haven't gotten their NOA2 in our October group for California Service Center. But most of us have. It looks like 5 months for you given your NOA1 date of Oct. 5. You probably would do well to call your congressman and see if he/she can get things moving or at least tell you where in the process your petition is. I just looked at your timeline. What exactly is your NOA1 date? The timeline says March 5, 2010, not October 5, 2009. You may want to edit your timeline for more accurate information. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2009 K-1 Visa filers	i ask all this cuz, like i said we were approved January 26 it have been more than a moth and we dont have an answer of NVC, the USCiS didn't say anything (if they have it or they send it to NVC) until yesterday that my finance contact the congresist man and they say that they already sent it to NVC but i would like to know when, cuz now NVC say that they dont have it. ....................gggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Hopefully USCIS is able to help you figure out where the petition is. My fiance' scheduled his medical exam for April 7. I called DOS today. Montreal still hasn't opened our packet 3 yet so I guess I will call again next Friday to see how the process is going. I can't figure out how or where to go or who to call to change it and it's already been a few weeks since we got our NOA2 I'm afraid it's too late and it will go to the wrong address. Help!!! Seems like there was a notice in the letter from the NVC that said what to do if an addressed changed. Did you get that letter let? That is rude and I would think it would be extortion as well. If it isn't typed in the letter or some official announcement of the increase in fees, then our fiance'/fiancees should have to pay this price that nearly tripled from what we expected. Thank you for your help. Have you checked with others that are going through the same Lithuanian consulate as you? I would ask this question in the regional forum for Europe and see what people from Lithuania have to say. Every consulate is so different. WE GOT OR N0A2 JANUARY 26 IT HAVE BEEN ALMOST 4 WEEK SINCE THAT AND NVC DOESNT HAVE OUR CASE AND USCIS DONT HAVE AND ANSWER. ..........WHAT SHOULD WE SO..... u think we should do that, my bf want to wait another week, cuz nvc told him could take 90 days ................thats crazy but its take 90 days we will need an extention ohh my good... thats to much time......why why why Yeah, I got the "wait 90 days" line from the person at NVC one day and then the next day my paperwork had been processed at NVC and was onto the consulate. Has your fiance' received a letter from NVC? Mine was in a pretty plain envelope. It came about 2 weeks after my NOA2 at CSC. If he hasn't gotten that, I would definitely be calling USCIS to determine when the package was sent to the National Visa Center. BOY would we ever have been cutting it close for a May 1st wedding!! HA! He may still try to get an earlier one, as there is some system I remember reading about, if you are willing to be very patient and call multiple times a day for $12 a call. We will see if that is what he wants to do, but at least we are on the home stretch now! Carla - I hope for a speedy turn around for Ron's packet 3 and you guys have an interview date in hand soon! Awesome Beth! That is so cool. I just checked Canada Post tracking system and nothing has happened to the "tracking" since Ron took his packet 3 to the post office on 2-16-2010. Expected delivery is 2-19-2010 which is 4 weeks from when Montreal originally received it. I thought the Vancouver consulate allows next day pickup of the visa? I am glad the DOS was able to tell you a date. That is nice at least you have something to plan around. I figure my fiance' won't even have notice of when his appointment is until mid April and the date will probably be in June based on others time lines for Montreal. It was too late when John tried last night, so I'm hoping that he wakes up in time to try again today I'm glad that you aren't in a rush and that if they do make you wait, it will still all turn out ok. We've changed our "wedding date" and are now shooting for a civil ceremony shortly after he gets to Michigan, then having a wedding ceremony/celebration some time in late August/early September. I'm really glad about that right now, after having done the move into our new home solo this past weekend, I can't imagine throwing wedding plans on top of all that right now. ugh. Oh, yeah, the DOS does close at 5 p.m. eastern time. But at least they are still open for some part of the days. I can't wait for your wedding ceremony/celebration! All the waiting is so worth it. My fiance' sent his packet 3 to Montreal yesterday. Montreal doesn't accept faxes. We sent it via expresspost which is supposed to take 2 days. We decided to include a copy of the DS-160 questions and answers since it wasn't clear if the online submission was enough as long as the confirmation page was included. Yeah! I am so glad he got packet 3. Waiting for the Montreal consulate to respond would be torture. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2009 K-1 Visa filers	For those of you who have had packet 3 (I know some embassies don't require it), did you include the question and responses to the DS-160 AND the confirmation page in the printed on paper forms you returned OR did you just include the confirmation page from the DS-160? Save and save often especially on the pages where you can "add additional" jobs, educational institutions etc. I lost all the schools my fiance' had attended because it took longer than 15 minutes to finish the page. ARGH. Make sure you save to file too, because just "saving" is not enough. Make sure there is a long string of letters and numbers then ".dat" and you are safe to come back to it later if necessary. Took us about 1.5 hours on the DS-160 alone because it kept timing out and losing our data. Spent 3.5 hours total last night getting everything typed up. But now on Valentine's Day we can relax. Ahh. I had called the DOS this morning and they were the ones who said it had been sent. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2009 K-1 Visa filers	We have yet to receive packet 3 from the consulate in Tirana. My fiance is an Albanian citizen currently living in Italy and wants to interview at the consulate in Naples. Are changes in consulate allowed at this point? I emailed the Naples office and have not had a response yet. He's willing to fly back to Albania for the medical exam and interview, but it would save lots of money if he could stay in Italy.
