US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	old illegal entry	It's ok! Wish you guys best of luck!!!! Everything will work out, don't be nervous! I have heard that there is often a problem w/someone that has worked while here illegally. I do not know why this would be so unusual for everyone that comes here from Mexico illegally is coming to work. Never the less, I have heard that adjustment of status is more difficult if there is a work history on the part of the illegal. Anyone have any experience w/this? US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	old illegal entry	Hello, and thanks so much to all who have posted, I'm still busy reading the old posts and catching up w/CDJ, but I have something that is bugging me about our case, and I thought I would query y'all for some help. My fiance and I are getting ready to send in our I-129F K1, but she has an old illegal entry in her past, basically from like 10/89 to 3/91, after which she went back on her own. She was never detained or deported, but I still fear that this may throw a kink in things. On the I-129F where they asked if applicant has ever been in the US, I put YES, but I did not elaborate. Should I? I know that illegal entrys that last over one year are subject to a 10 year ban, and I dont' think I could handle that. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	I-129F sent today, time for part 2	Hello to all, looks like I'm the new kid on the block here.......I met Maria on an interntet dating site in 2008, and I just got the paperwork out to Vermont today, so i am ready to think about the next step, and that is Juarez. Can anyone please send me to the correct section of this site to find out exactly what will be the required forms for the packet that goes to Juarez? I know that the forms sent from Mexico are illegable and unusable according to many on this site, so I figured I would at least start getting everything ready now. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	What else?	Ok, I'm going to seriously establish my stupidity here. We submitted our I-129F on Jan. 20, the check cleared on 2-12, and of course we still have not recieved our NOA-1. After a few days rest, I am back to working on the packet for the embassy in Juarez. I have filled out the DS156, and the DS156K, and just for shits and giggles the 134 & 184 financials, just to be sure that I have all my self employment paperwork in perfect shape. We have many pictures going back to my first visit, I'm going back at least 2 more times to take more photos and to get letters from her parents that say that I have asked for her hand. Also on one of these trips I will bring her an engagement ring down, along w/the recipt for it. I have saved boarding passes, I have hundreds of pages of skype conversations, Yahoo IM's etc. I have all my cell phone bills showing all the calls to Mexico, at least one pretty much everyday, sometimes 2-3 times. The only thing that makes me nervous is my self employment status, and the time that Maria spent here illegally (18mos) from summer 1989 to early 1991. My question to this list is...........can anyone think of anything else that I can do to make this happen the first time? It is expensive and nerve wracking, to say least. I'm hoping I do not have to fill out a wavier on her stay, or the fact that she worked while she was here. I can't think of anything else. Anyone? US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	DS156	Hi Bryan & Maria, From looking at your timeline you have only submitted the I129F so far. If that is the case, then just download a new DS-156, fill it out and shred to old one. It is not submitted by the beneficiary until the interview at the consulate. Actually for a K1 visa, the beneficiary will complete a DS-156 (in duplicate - meaning print two copies) and a DS156K. Its good to review and prepare but there is no need to complete some of these forms so far in advance. You are right of course, and the I-129f is indeed all that we have done, but I just flat HATE surprises, especially unpleasant ones! Thanks for the reply. I have had a lot of trouble trying to print another one also, becuase the web site is hanging up. The reason I am asking, one day while I was getting all our paperwork ready for the I-129F application, I went ahead and filled out the DS156, but since that time, I have moved. and the 156 shows my old address. Should I be concerned about this, or is it not a problem? Can I fill out another one w/o causing a problem? I have notified the USCIS of the change of address. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Juarez Consulate	He and his sons went Day1 for Medicals. He was told only he could get one and then go for his visa interview before they would repeat the procedure for his kids' k2s. So he went on a Monday for medical, went Tuesday with results for interview. Was approved and told to pay at DHL. Did so and didn't receive anything Wed.. Thurs. or Friday. The next Monday was President's day. Went back to Consulate on Tuesday and was told they'd messed up. Finally gave him the document that day to have his kids do their medical. One of them is under 15 so even doing the Medicals on Wed., they had to to wait until Friday to read his TB. Then wait until the following Monday (at 2 weeks in CJ at this point), went for kid's interviews, all approved. Then wait until Wednesday to pick up visas. After that, it was smooth sailing, crossed Wed. night and jumped on a plane Thursday morning. Thank goodness he had family there, we could never have afforded a hotel for that long! I see. Juarez for two and a half weeks now, my fiance and 3 soon-to-be stepsons were given the final thumbs up on their k1/k2 visas yesterday. Fiance picked his up today and the kids' packets are ready also and will be picked up tomorrow! Crossing tomorrow night and flying from El Paso home on Thursday. SO excited! If you have any K1/K2 questions about the Juarez Consulate, ask away. Thankfully he had family there or 2 1/2 weeks would have been super expensive! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-129f K1 application also sent today	It takes some time to really get used to navigating the site. Relax a little and get some rest, what you just finished is the easy part. After you take a break, start compling your proofs and things. Lots of pictures, receipts, documents that show proof of the two of you together etc ... You've got a bit of a wait until you'll receive your NOA2 but its never to soon to start gathering and preparing!! Man I gotta tell you, it did not seem easy! We had all kinds of trouble getting her divorce papers from the courts in Durango City, then when we did, she scanned them on 2 separate ocasions to try to save me some time, but they were too faint to print. We finally had to fax them in, and a big snow storm hit here friday, and it was yesterday(monday) before I could get to them. I feel like I've been drug through a keyhole backwards! LOL! Every step of the process thus far has been like this, mostly because of the Mexican authorities. Things do move slow south of the border. Quitting on this however is not an option, nor is failure. I must admit though, Juarez and that interview scares me, mostly because I am self-employed, don't have a W-2, etc. I do have enough in property and assets not to have any problems whatsoever, as long as Maria doesn't get some jerk as an interviewer that refuses to look at things. The prep work doesn't bother me at all because I have some control of that, and I can work on getting it right. The things that worry me about Juarez is what I can't control. If you can get an image of your check from your bank, you can find your USCIS case number on back, it will start with WAC .### There is also different topics started here for months' that people file their petitions. Each month begins a whole different group of filers. Some are even separated by USCIS centers such as: January K1 - VSC or CSC. The January 2010 bunch is at THIS LINK. I submitted our I129f in January too, my check has been cashed, I have my acoount number, so I logged in to the USCIS site, registered and it shows that there was some activity going on w/our application. I have not yet recieved our NOA1, no text, no email, no letter, nothing. The check didn't clear my bank until 2-12-10, so it may not be time yet. I would love to get that hard copy. So does that mean that if we get approved today (wishful thinking i know, but we are all aloud to dream) that our case will not be updated online at all and we would only receive the NOA2 in the mail? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Anyone not receive a NOA1???	Hi! I am also an April filer. I filed my I-129F on April 16. It was received April 19 and the check cleared on the 24th. I got my case # from the back of the check and My case states its in the inicial review status and that the NOA1 letter was mailed out but It is now May and I still have not received one. I called the customer service # and the girl who answered was no help at all. She said there was no way for her to check the address on file. I did read a post from a guy who spoke to the director at the vermont service center and he stated customer service has no access to our cases and that they are there to answer 14 general questions, but I decided to call anyway. I'm concerned I won't receive my other notices from the VSC. Anyone have any suggestions? I wouldn't worry too much about it. I didn't get ours either, but I got NOA2. It took about 3.5 months. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Old illegal entry	Stays longer than 1 year without a visa incur a 10 year ban, which can be waived. In your fiancee's case she has exceeded this. I don't know whether there's a specific spot for it, but she would need to be honest about it. So, in short. She should be fine, but she must mention it if there's a spot for it, or if asked. Ok. Thanks. I hope they will let it slide since it has been so long. This is the only thing that is worrying me about the entire process. Perhaps when we go to CDC for the interview, we should expect to file a wavier. One of the questions on the I-129F is has applicant been in the U.S. before, to which I answered yes, but I did not give any explanation. Maria was kidnapped in TJ while there teaching a secretarial course. She negotiated a release w/her captors through a friend in Calif. that agreed to pay the ransom if they would bring her here. They agreed, put her in the trunk and took her to Ca. At that point she went to work to pay off the ransom, and when it was paid, she returned voluntarily(sp?), and has not been back in the U.S. since that time. I would hate to thing that after all the time that has passed by, there would be a 10 year ban on her entrance. Thanks for the reply, and if anyone else has anything to add, please do so. Call them and give them the number and they will tell you if you have the right numbers. If it is not the right numbers they will give you the right numbers as well. Be patient you will get your number soon, try not to use the wrong number. Good luck and be so very blessed Thank you. Evidently the numbers are correct, because I now have my account set up.
