US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Some advice	In london the wait for police certificates is apparently 40 days, and it usually takes that long. This will make the date of receipt for mine approximately the 10th october. i should be receiving packet three shortly, /but i'm worried about sending it back straight away in case they give me an interview date which is before the expected police certificate date? anyone else in london tell me how long it took for the cert/interview? I've found the DS156 online to get the barcode, is this the only one that needs a barcode? If so, then I now have all the forms ready and waiting... US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	packet three stuff again	Hello, I've been reading threads and some people are saying they have their packet three ready to send as soon as they receive confirmation that the petition is on the way to the embassy. What exactly needs to be ready? I have an NVC case number and my petition is on its way to London, so can I send something now to speed everything up? US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	New Packet 3 Forms	While we;re on the subject of packet ... - the downloadable ds230 has a big square in the top left corner, is this for the photo? - this photo is meant to be 5x5, is this not the same as a normal passport photo you get in the uk?? - is it ok to hand print these? I know I've asked this a million times, but when I send packet three back I include DS230 DS156 DS156K DS157 (if they ask for it) The DS156K says that to apply for the visa all the evidence, birth certificates, police reports have to be attached, but I just have to bring these to the interview right? US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Police reports - panic!	Phew, I have done it right... "You have applied for a copy of what is held on the Police NATIONAL Computer, this covers UK addresses. Your response will say it there is nothing known about you on the Metropolitan Police (or words to that effect), so do not worry. Lots of people apply to the Mets as their form is on line and Hampshire Constabulary's is not." Thank god... I also asked them to check the progress on it today but they said that since the receipt was only 30/8 I should call up in a couple of weeks if I haven't got it. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Police reports - panic!	Helloooo, I'm having a major stress over my police reports, I'm convinced I've applied for the wrong one and I'm worried... You're meant to apply to your local police place, and they then send this off to Scotland yard where they look on the police national computer... Why are you meant to apply to your local police place if they're going to be looking on a national computer?? I got my receipt and it's got Metropolitan police all over it, but I don't live in London and never have... I also have a university address which is in a different region to where I am living now, do I need a separate police certificate again or can I just get them to add an address onto it? Please Please Please help me on this, I'm panicking like anything, hoping to get packet three any day now and if I've aplied for the wrong police certificate I'll have a massive delay on my hands through my own stupidity!! US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	PACKET THREE!!	It arrived today! I've already filled all the forms in, except I forgot that DS 156 was duplicated. DO you think it'll be ok to handwrite one, whereas the other one was done online and got the barcode and everything? Also, it doesn't seem to say anywhere that I have to send back a photo straight away, it just says three colour photographs which have to be ready for the interview (it;s in the checklist). I would be very happy if I didn't need them yet, as I'm having printer trouble and I don't want any delays!! A final question... It asks for a medical date in the checklist but obviously I don't have one yet as I haven't booked it yet... Is it ok to send it back without a date on? It also has dates for wedding and travel but obviously I don't have those yet either, so I'm guessing it's ok to leave it blank. Thanks for your help! I put my fiance's name for the applying for an immigrant visa bit, as the DS156 is a non immigrant form, it's quite a general form for a lot of circumstances. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	DS-156K	In the UK, you send back the forms (omitting the DS156K) straight away, including the checklist which has a list of the documents. It is quuite clear (in mine anyway!) that you should NOT send any documents with your forms. I will be sending mine momentarily, after I have booked a medical and filled out the date in there, so I will let you know if I run into problems! I emailed London and asked if they had received my petition and they said that they had no record of it, but I got packet three the next day, so they obviously did! I also emailed on friday asking if they had received my packet three reply, and I've just this second got an email saying no, but my royal mail tracking tells me it got there at 7.30am on friday! US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Medical question - UK	Hellooo, I have my medical on friday, and everything is fine except I can't find the silly bit of paper which says I had MMR at school when I was 13, which is the only one missing from the list. I don't mind having it again, but i DO mind having to pay a stupid amount of money for it! When they see the missing one will they insist on me having it done there and then, or can I get it done at my own doctors after the medical? I know the vaccination part isn't actually compulsory until applying for AOS, so I'm hoping this will be ok.. THanks for your help, and good luck to those with interviews tomorrow!! I sent back the packet having ticked everything when in reality I am still gathering. Does anyone have a copy of the 4 pages they want sent back with the checklist? I know I should have photocopied it.. I still haven't learnt! I am getting paranoid that I've forgotten something again, and would like reassurance from the bit of paper that I am doing it right... US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Medical tomorrow in Knightsbridge, London	Hello UKers, Just wondering if anyone that;s had their medical recently could give me an idea of what it'll be like for me tomorrow? I've managed to get all my vaccination records at last, so hopefully that part of it should be painless... I've been given quite a specific time (13.50) so I'm guessing that really is my appointment and it's not like everyone just waits their turn? Also, while i'm in London I was thinking I may as well get the silly size photos (thank goodness the doctors' don't mind normal English size passport photos...), do you know if you can just walk in and they take them for you? I sent my packet three back on the 14th, and received my packet 4 yesterday, but they had the interview date on monday when Ed rung them. So give that a go! I didn't get a receipt notice at all, I even rung them up from here just last Friday and they said they hadn't received my packet three yet, so don't worry! Hi CapeG, I wrote down everything they wanted when I got packet three, because you know as well as I do that we have to send the checklist back... This is what I've written down, you're K3 so you will also need the marriage certificate and name change documents if applicable. Passport Birth Certificate Police Certificate 2 Colour 2" x 2" photos I134 + Evidence of support Evidence of ongoing relationship. The NOA2 is NOT needed, but I know lots of people take them anyway. Oh I don't know what to do!! My main concern right now is that a doctor who did some minor surgery for me a few years ago was meant to fax through a letter to Knightsbridge and I've just found out that he hasn't yet... he better get his act together or the medical results won't be there when I have my interview!!
