I have been being told that my case was received at NVC on 8/1 and that typically within 10-15 business days the information is all loaded. That would make for 8/15 or 8/22. Which is a lovely 45 days after my approval.

I was approved July 11th and we are still waiting for an NVC case number. I called this morning and the guy stated that my case is "here in the office somewhere but nothing has been processed" I asked how long that process normally takes and he stated 15 days. When I mentioned we are now on day 28... or the 20th BUSINESS day... he said "ooh... well... maybe later in the week they will have done something with it!"

Thanks butt wipe! Talk to ya next week!

My patients for my case sitting in some black hole in an office is really wearing thin.

I try to put on my happy pants each day but it is getting harder each day that I have to rely on sending (hug) through skype to feel some love :cry: :girlwerewolf2xn:

We are buying a two way ticket too! And when he gets here we will call the airline and tell them he is staying longer and to give us an open ended ticket.. usually like $150.00 charge... then we can go back to visit next summer :thumbs:

I think the bad thing of approval before you were expecting is if you are not prepared for the next step, so as soo as you file your I-130 then you should prepare the documents for NVC especially if sometimes police certs can take a long time some places, or what not. I was fully expecting 6 month wait for I-130 because that seemed to be the trend, and I was happy to have it done in under 4 months! I was preparing along the way having my wife get passport, and police certificate and nototial birth cert, and signing documents and mailing them all to me. I emailed documents to her and then had some filled some blank so if I need to refile or if some were lost in mail I wasn't sitting waiting because it was MY fault! Good Luck!

You have case number AND Individual ID number on the email? if you have the numbers and you should log into the NVC web page payment page and if you can pay the fees because you have all the info generated pay the fees and move forward!
If you are unsure call the NVC number and talk to an operator ask questions they are open Fridays until midnight EDT go go go
i would make sure you have everything in order but I have never received hard copy of anything yet. They told me it can take weeks to send the hard copy. They accepted the documents I generated from download no problem.

I was very patient for the I-130 to be approved because I figured that was slow for sure. I assumed NVC would be more timely like days to weeks. So I am very impatient to get through NVC because I think after that I can really plan the time around an interview date and travel etc. Just waiting 3-4 weeks for a case number and bill generated does not help your mind when I worked really hard to have all the forms and documents filled and ready a month ago then sat on my hands twiddling my toes waiting to act without knowing woudl it be today, next week, 6-8 weeks?

I used taxact and then printed paper. i made mistakes i did it in a hurry last month then emailed to my wife, she printed out and then signed then mailed to me , because i needed desperately for i-864, well when it came time to mail w-7, and notarized passport copy and tax form to the W-7 listed IRS address (not normal one) i was reading another thread on here they said "you submit form 2555 exclusion of foreign income form" well i looked and the tax software did not generate the 2555 form so I said ####### man I did this wrong, so I went through again and added the 2555 form and it spit out 1040, 2555 form and bigger refund! oh geez so now I had had my wife spend 60 bucks US sending me package with some presents and papers and they were not useful suddenly to file taxes, so then I did the sneaky thing and signed for my wife, I didn't have time to have her mail back whoa is me, but the tax form is corrected and once I have teh ITIn number if I need to adjust file I will do it later. Also same issue on teh state form. Oh if my wifee were sitting next to me life would be sooo much easier!

* I put both files in separate manila file folders wrote all information on outside
* I put both in same outer envelope made sure I had delivery confirmation I felt better knowing how to track it
* check the envelope 20 times before you seal it!!

I know the lawyer debate will go on and on, to be fair I think each case is different, but I decided to use a lawyer because she is an expert, not a secretary, I did most the work on all the gathering and filling forms, I want the lawyer to be a lawyer I didn't want to pay her to be a clerk, but she checked all my work and did a lot for me, and I haven't paid too much money, but I tell you if I have any legal issues she is right there she knows my case and THEN I will be glad to have a lawyer.

So NVC still communicates the interview date or the consulate communicates the interview date?

I have seen so many people from so many countries post conflicting replies on threads like these, I go by what the FAQ for China, where I only know my situation says:

However, if you wish to make a temporary visit to the United States, at the end of which you will return to your permanent residence abroad, you may be eligible for a tourist (B2) non-immigrant visa. To receive a B2 visa, you must prove to the interviewing officer that you do not intend to immigrate to the U.S. until after completing the ongoing immigrant visa process. For obvious reasons, this is often a difficult thing to prove.

I sent mine in with my taxes in April just before deadline and I am still waiting for ITIN AND fedeeral AND state return or notification. the state website says that my tax was received, I didn't have any number to put with that so I included copy of everything I filed with W-7 mailed address. the web says "received manually filing"

My federal I called the number the lady said to wait at least 2 month and most likely more (I waited 2 months already dammit) and that these forms will take a real long time if I sent in April at the peak of season. Do the USCIS NVC and IRS all holiday together why does everything have to take months and months!!!

I am concerned about the interview, we met online in January 2008, and intense hours every day until i went August 2008, and we were planning to see "how it goes" I was prepared to be married or to not be married. Then within minutes of meeting for the first time I knew I wanted to marry. So we got married about 2 weeks later and it is not much time, and I know that we are right to marry she knows it, I will present material showing this, and in my opinion we have slam dunk bona-fide I hope they see it as clear!!
I did not front load I-130, My lawyer prepared the material and never even suggested front loading. I know strangee things happen in interview but you be sure and you show what you know to be true and you should sail through!

we had several mistakes on the 325 no matter how many times i read it over i misse something like my moms birthdate and my wife's mothers name was spelled wrong. she could have put elvis mcpoopyhead in Chinese for her mothers name i would have missed it
the next forms were corrected i necer heard anything about it

I think it's fair to say since your wife worked for the 2 years and you didn't you can at least be together in your country while you work maybe you can then file and wait it out.

itz CR1, i already inquire to USCIS, and they told me to send an I 90 form to make a changes on my GC.. they admitted that it was their fault..

My advice is based on my choice.
I hired a lawyer, I delayed filing for a month until i could gather things and look online and what not. My situation is that i hired a lawyer to be a lawyer not a secretary, I am not going to pay a lawyer hundreds of dollars to gather information and fill out forms, however i did a lot of the work myself and had her review and she prepared my I-130 packet to send in, and it was exactly what was required. i might have made a little different choice and front loaded, but I didn't mind doing the secretary work as long as she checked and checked and told me what to correct. If my case needs some lawyer advice she is there and knows my case, but if it sails through I didn't pay a lot of money for her advice, and I would certainly pay in the future if I need her. i think it is not necessary to have a lawyer to fill out clerical forms, and the guides here are very thorough and correct, but every guide and everyone on VJ does not know your situtaion only you do, so take the advice, but i would also at least talk to a qualified experienced immigration family attorney, it is usually free consultation.

I'm not sure where to post this, but I was curious, i have been waiting for the IITN number for my wife, I mailed the tax return and W-7 application togther to the right mail address, but still have not heard back on anything. I know it is peak tax season when I sent this, so i called the IRS number and after about 30 minutes on-hold time i talked to a lady who could not track down my return, filed jointly in any system. And then after awhile she said she should be able to check on the W-7 application status, and then came on abrubtly and told me she could not discuss it with me, my wife would have to call from China, or I would need to get a power of attorney. I belive the privacy policies of the IRS, just not sure why i can't know any information, the documentation all has our both signatures on the letters and a joint 1040. Anyway if I can't get this infomration over the phone anyone have any experience with how long it takes IITN number mailed to Austin address to at least get processed, and will they mail it to me, I put MY address as mailing address or will they mail it to China, even though it has no indication to mail there. unsure.gif

Yes i thought that was odd questioning too. I was 44 wife 31 first time for both of us. I was in no hurry to marry anyone just figured if it was meant to be then i would find someone and wala i did.
