US Embassy and Consulate Discussionwaiting for my interview date.. feeling nervous

My fiancé just got approved today at her interview in Manila. She was surprised how fast it went and how 'few' questions they asked. I truly believe that was because we had all the paperwork filled out properly and had plenty of supporting evidence of our relationship. Just make sure you double, triple check all the required paperwork, forms, etc, etc. I spent so much time checking everything before I FedEx'd all the forms to her and I made sure she had everything on her end. Be confident and trust in God!

Congrats!!!

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionwhat can be K1 denial reasons?
1. Missing documents
2. Incorrect paperwork
3. Insufficient income/savings of the U.S. citizen sponsor
4. A very large age difference between the couple can cause concern. However, there is no specific age limitation.
5. Fiancee can not obtain written consent from the ex-husband for their child to leave the country
6. Fiancee has a very serious contagious illness (such as tuberculosis).
7. Petition includes a document that is deemed to be fraudulent
8. Couple lacks sufficient evidence of recent day-to-day contact
9. Fiancee interviews poorly and the consul doubts that there is a bona fide relationship with the U.S. citizen
10. Fiancee has relatives or friends in the U.S. who seem to be taking too large a role in match-making
11. Fiancee was previously in the U.S. and overstayed the visa
12. Fiancee commits a misrepresentation during the interview (or so it seems to the interviewing officer)
13. Fiancee has a criminal record

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsGot my case number but........................

We already got the NOA2 letter of approval on June 4. We are still waiting for the case number. We were given instructions by the agency we hired Filipina Fiance Visa. That's why I know what to do. Anyway, it's up tp you if you want to wait for NVC's instructions. It's just a matter of saving time anyway.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsGot my case number but........................

Hi! If your case number is already available, you can set an appointment for your embassy interview without the letter from NVC. You can go and pay the visa fee at any BPI bank near you then call the US embassy, you will be asked by the appointment system regarding DS 160 which is not needed, just say YES then when you get a live person say you want to make an appointment for K1 visa, they will ask you if you receive a letter from the embassy just say YES. After the interview is set, you will receive a confirming email of date and time of your interview. You should print it out and bring it to your medical exam.

PhilippinesQ re: NSO Birth certificate: clerical error and faded

The NSO office will only print whatever copy they have forwarded by the Municipal office. Any clerical error or at my case, it's blurred, you should go to the Municipal office to request an endorsement letter. If the problem is clerical error with wrong spelling or any incorrect info, it will take a couple of months or more. I am thankful my issue was just 10 working days to fix the problem.

You should get your NSO first to know if it is okay and readable.

PhilippinesQ re: NSO Birth certificate: clerical error and faded

I have the same problem with my BC NSO copy. It's blurry and unreadable. I was asked to show my municipal registrar copy when I applied for my passport last month of January. Now, that I am getting ready for my interview on the US embassy manila, I went to our municipal office and showed them my NSO BC. They made a letter of endorsement for clerical error and made another copy of my BC. I was asked to go to the post office and go back to them so they can photo copy the receipt. I was advised to go back to the NSO office after 10 working days and gave me a copy of the receipt, endorsement letter and newly-typed BC which will be forwarded to the NSO office in our province. Anyway I am from Pampanga. So, after 10 working days all I have to do is go to the electronic endorsement window inside the NSO office and get my CLEAR NSO BC!

PhilippinesBlurred NSO BC - Clerical Error

Month of January, 2013 I applied for my passport at DFA Marquee Mall in Angeles Pampanga. I was with my fiance then. So, what happened was they rejected my NSO BC copy and asked me to show my municipal registrar version. Oh yeah, how on earth I didn't noticed that my NSO BC copy is blurry! It's really unreadable (blotted ink). Anyway I got my passport. And to prevent the same issue, I went to the NSO office today (in preparation for my interview) got my CENOMAR and of course my unreadable BC! After all my questions were answered differently by the NSO employees, I went to our municipal office and showed them my NSO BC copy. They made an endorsement letter and re-typed my BC. I was asked to go to the post office which was few meters away (thanks God) and go back to them to have the receipt photo copied. And so, after few minutes I came back and they told me to wait 10 working days before going back to the NSO office and go straight to the electronic endorsement window.

They gave me a copy of the receipt from the post office, and a letter of endorsement plus the new copy of BC which I have to show to the NSO people.

Anyway, It's 150.00 pesos for the clerical error endorsement.

PhilippinesAge gap difference in Philippines

Someone who just passed the interview last week also got their I-129F along with the instruction letter and two brochures about Information on Legal Rights Available to Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence in the US and Facts about Immigrating on a Marriage-Based Visa. i was about to email the embassy about the letter.. UGH I think its really part of the package from the embassy

PhilippinesAge gap difference in Philippines

Its a letter of instructions from the Embassy in Manila including a I-129F petition showing the approval date and another piece of paper with our case number. The remarks was written on the first page of the I-129F. The agency we hired said that it is so unusual for them to show us the remarks on our petition.

PhilippinesAge gap difference in Philippines

I already have my schedule set on July 31st. I just received the packet from US Embassy Manila today. I noticed a remarks on red ink "Large Age Difference". My fiance is 34yrs older than me. I can show the consular that we have everything in terms of evidence for a genuine and ongoing relationship. I just need some advice or any tips on my interview.. I have nothing to worry about but still, I am worried LOL

I just checked on my visa status right now, it says, "THERE IS NO STATUS UPDATE AVAILABLE FOR THE PASSPORT NUMBER SUBMITTED" yesterday, the status was "STILL WITH POST"

I had my interview approved last week, Thursday August 02. I' thinking maybe the visa is already available for pick up but I didn't get any SMS from 2Go Travel. I tried reaching them and at the same time the embassy but I just can't get through.

PhilippinesNeed advices - Departure Procedures (Manila Airport) With E-Ticket

The other reply is right by asking if tue travel tax is included since it will make things easier.

With the e-ticket, there should be no problem with the color smile.png My e-ticket was b&w except for my name which was in bold blue. We bought the ticket in the US but the agency had a counterpart in PH and so they just confirmed my identity and issued my e-ticket. Regardless, your name should be in the airline system once the itinerary is released.

Traveling alone? Weigh your luggage before hand and give an allowance of 1kg as we never know how the weighing scales are calibrated.

The tickets handed to you should be kept along with your documents which is in your arms.

Wear flats and comfortable clothes.

I brought $150 and 2k pesos and not a single cent was spent. Your lay over would require either $ or their currency. The food in the plane should suffice really. Just binge after the flight or bring some snacks with you tongue.png

You can either sleep or not that is all up to you. Just fix up a little bit for the immigration picture biggrin.png

Hold om to your documents especially the tickets of your connecting flight and visa visa packet.

With connecting flights, don't hesitate to ask. I was just listening to some passengers on where they are headed and didnt have to ask and just went with the crowd so vigilance and being keen is helpful also smile.png

Seattle POE is awesome! Haha! I'm a Seattleite tongue.png but seriously it wasn't toxic. You can read some reviews with POE there.

Hope that helps smile.png Stay safe smile.png

Thank you so much! Hmm.. how about the clothes you have brought? hahaha.. #girlsaregirls

PhilippinesNeed advices - Departure Procedures (Manila Airport) With E-Ticket

Hi everyone! Actually GOOGLE already answered my questions about the departure procedures at Manila Airport but of course I want up-to-date experiences about everything. Hope you understand because it's my very first LONG flight and I will travel alone. Lay-over will be in Taipei then POE at Seattle.

Has anyone had any problems about e-tickets? I know for a fact that the card holder should sign the indemnity of payment form to the airlines office. I already printed out the itinerary receipt and the one showing the booking reference number. Well, it's not colored. Is that okay? LOL.. I only have black for now, but will buy the other colors if black and white e-ticket doesn't sound good.

And can anyone give me tips and other advices for travelling alone?

Thank you so much!!!

P.S

Airline is EVA

PhilippinesCFO Seminar Visa in Hand (GCC and Emigrant Sticker)

Bakit ganyan? At least a 33 y/o female is still attractive, and at 19 y/o, a male very virile. I think it's more plausible for them to have genuine attraction for each other than the more common couples undertaking this process. Hindi ba?

It's sad that you girls can't stand any relationship where the Filipina isn't compromising to "be practical" and didn't need to "learn to love" the guy she's with; moreso if the petitioner is an American Pinoy. [Unfortunately], your post proves my assertion that the crab mentality would be even worse if the petitioner is a female, lalong-lalo isang puti.

Part of the CFO should be to warn girls that the superiority complex they've developed needs to be discarded...

andun ka ba during the seminar? binasa mo ba maayos post ko? have you heard the guy story during the marriage brainstorming activity we had??? ayos ha.. LOL

PhilippinesCFO Seminar Visa in Hand (GCC and Emigrant Sticker)

This is my experience yesterday, August 12, 2013 at CFO Office in Manila. I just wanna take note that each applicant has a different case from the others, oh well of course! That's why I am sharing what I have noticed from my seminar yesterday to correct some thoughts of negativity of how counselors are like during the seminar (they said they are terrors, oh well NOT) and how easy to pass the one on one interview.

Metro Manila was under storm signal #1 yesterday LOL.. me and my mom stayed for a night at Eurotel, Pedro Gil St. Manila. I was first in line at the ramp for US-bound applicants when we arrived at the CFO office around 3:30am but of course there were already people in line for Canada. Thanks GOD, though it wasn't raining during the waiting time outside, the wind was strong and it was so cold. Around 5am, all of us (the US bound applicants) were told to fall in line outside the ramp. How I wish we didn't listen to the street vendor! We came back at the ramp, and this time I was 5th on the line. It doesn't matter anyway, atleast I am sure I am one of the first 15 applicants LOL. So, at 6:30am they allowed us to go inside and will ask to present 2 original and photocopies of 2 valid i.d's with photos. I submitted my original and photocopy of my NBI Clearance and showed my passport plus submitted a copy of it's bio-page. The guard gave me a form which is downloadable on www.cfo.gov.ph (Pre-Departure Registration Form) and white I.D with pink "F" and number on it. Applicants bound for other countries has different colors of I.D's.

If you already completed and printed the Pre-Departure Registration Form online, no need to fill out the form given by the guard. Just wait for the instruction on what time they will ask all US applicants to go to the 3rd floor for documents verification.

Time check - 7:30am. We used the stairs going up to the 3rd floor, it was dark and creepy LOL. This time, the receptionist has given us a another form with same questions like in the pre-departure registration form, the only difference are the additional much detailed personal questions for both parties (fiancee and petitioner) So make sure you know everything about your fiance including his educational background and his mom's maiden name.

After completing the form, give it back to the receptionist. This time, she will verify all the docs needed. She will first review the 2 forms, will check and ask for photocopies of passport  bio-page and visa, she will ask for a photocopy of your I.D and ask you few basic questions about your fiance. Please take note about the correct visa number! All of us with visa already, put a WRONG info about the visa number. IT'S NOT THE CONTROL NUMBER ON THE UPPER LEFT CORNER. IT'S THE COMBINATION OF LETTERS AND NUMBERS IN RED INK.

After verification, next is picture taking. That's for the GCP Certificate. Then she advised us to go back at 9am for the seminar. Take note, go back at 8:30am because the counselor who will do the seminar will start calling applicants for a one on one interview. My interview was so easy. She only asked me three questions: "how I met my fiance, how many marriage he had and asked me to tell her all things I know about him" After a very detailed short story, I was waiting for her to ask for pictures and other documents but she didn't ask anything.

After we were all finished and overheard other applicants experiences during their interview, I noticed that the counselor will ask you many things and will try to dig deep if your petitioner has been married twice or thrice before. Same with if you are 25 below and also, if your fiance has a previous marriage with a Filipina.

We were all 17 applicants LOL. The guard messed up with the number of allowed applicants for the morning session. We have one guy with us. He is only 19 yrs old. His petitioner, a female american missionary in the Philippines, 33 yrs old. We noticed that the Counselor didn't ask him too much questions during their one on one interview. We all doubt he will pass the embassy interview scheduled for him today, August 13. But who knows! And who are we to judge his case LOL. Well, it was a rare one.

So, after 2 and a half hours of discussion about marriage (brainstorming) proper savings, domestic violence, and departure checklists, we were asked to complete the feedback form and asked us to go ground floor and pay 400 pesos. After 5 minutes, got my sticker and GCC stapled at the very last page of my passport. We were also given brochures (departure checklists)

The counselor (Erlinda) that we had during the seminar was so serious but very professional at asking questions. She will talk to you in tagalog during the one on one interview. And was very good during the counseling. She will try to make fun at things (just to break the ice LOL) and also tell stories about failed Filipina-American relationships due to violence and abuse. Oh geez.. it all scared us hahaha.

Anyway, just follow all the instructions and make sure you know all the answers on the form, then you will be fine! So easy.. sometimes too much reading at the forums specially with negative experiences will only stress us out! LOL

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresis Age difference a red flag

In the many years on being on this site this is the first time i have come across a much older Male finance from the Philippines.

There must have been some funny looks at the Consulate.

LOL.. sorry to say but there has been a case which the age difference is 43 yrs and they passed the consulate interview without any problems.anyway, the consular will never mind the age gap nor give you a funny look during the interview. only narrow minded people will do that LOL. (well, ofcourse they are professional on what they do) and they are just looking for fraud if they will throw you more questions and it depends on your documents if they need more proof.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresis Age difference a red flag

my fiance is 34 yrs older than me.. wink.png

during my interview last week, they never asked for any evidence like emails or any proof of ongoing relationship. they just checked on our photos and that's it! do not worry about the age gap issue. it won't matter as long as you have all the right and complete documents and you are smiling and confident during your interview.

CanadaK3 vs. CR1
That is the way I thought it worked also from all the reading I have done. Once you get the k3 you can come and go as you please. You just can't work in the USA without filing the paperwork an having it approved. I believe once you file for aos then you must stay in the country until its approved or abandoned the k3 and go back to your home country and file it from home country.
