I know this topic is asked a lot, but what is the general time frame after your case was completed at the NVC for a scheduled interview date at moscow?

From my understanding NVC schedules the interview date, and sends you an email?

i think i know the differences now. MOS-MED-ENGL-0001-0903.pdf is a older one as it still has AO "MEDITSINA", which i believe in no longer accepted by american embassy in moscow?

My wife wants to go to this one: Found on MOS-MED-ENGL-0001-0903.pdf

AO "MEDITSINA"
#10, 2nd Tverskoi-Yamskoi pereulok, office 206, Moscow
tel. (495) 250-8899 to schedule an appointment 9:00 am – 12 noon Mo-Fri.

Everything is pretty much the same except slight distinctions on: 1) Numbers of windows. 2) Number of hospitals.

I am not sure if anyone ran into this issue before.
NVC writes on the interview letter
RUSSIA POLICE CERTIFICATE Y
even though an original document was submitted to NVC and it should be coded O, instead of Y.

yes, you may be right. try contacting the NVC and see what they have to say.

Do you know if Moscow Embassy strictly follows of what NVC puts on the interview letter? Would Embassy demand another original even though one has already been submitted to NVC??
Please help.

that is a good question, as i am wondering the same question too. For the most part, i would follow what the appointment letter requires you to bring, and what the medical letter found here http://travel.state..../info_3739.html

Hello all, I am process in helping my wife prepare for her interview and could use some help for those who are familiar with the process or have passed their interview. If there is anything i missed or feel that i should add, please feel free to comment smile.gif

First, do i need a request a DS-3025 form, and have my wife fill out a DS-156 form or does it only apply to K1?

Does anyone know the required vaccinations prior to the medical exam?

I did a search and found this link, but I am not certain of how accurate or up-to-date it is
http://***removed***/greencard/vaccination-requirements.html

Update: Found the list of vaccinations per AEM http://moscow.usemba...c_schedule.html

At the medical exam, my wife will need to bring the following:

1) x2 color photos measuring 3x4cm???

2) Travel passport

3 Medical History with the list of vaccination she received. [The document should include a doctors signature and stamp]

At the medical exam, my wife will need to bring the following:

1) Appointment letter

2) Medical results [Sealed]

3) x2 photos measuring 5 cm by 5 cm???

4) IF a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) AND provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal Income Tax Extension in lieu of a Federal Income Tax Return, the applicant must bring the sponsor's most recent Federal Income Tax Return to the visa interview.

[ I'm pretty sure this is not applicble to me as i did not file a IRS Federal Income Tax Extension in lieu of a Federal Income Tax ]

5) Evidence of Bona fide and ongoing relationship: Misc photo's, gift cards, chat logs, mailing receipts, and..... ?

6) Her Original Birth Certificate. I sent a certified copy at the NVC stage

NVC has received and has not requested any other information, so i am assuming there is nothing else that she should bring to the interview?

I have heard others bringing their entire package with them, from CIS to NVC stage. Is this really necessary and can the consulate request anything even though technically they have it or NVC has it on records?

Here's what wife thinks (Wife is probably right biggrin.gif) :

She thinks i should send her the entire package of AOS, including the I-864 and the W2's etc, and is afraid they will refuse her visa if she does not bring it to the interview. Can this really happened wacko.gif ?

I just don't see how it's any of the consulate business when it has already been approved by NVC, and luckily we did not receive any RFE's at the CIS or NVC stage.

Unless there are instructions that i did not see that specifically states that the applicant must bring this documents or he/she maybe refused of a visa OR maybe it's just a rule of thumb yes.gif

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusMedical Exam
QUOTE (visaveteran @ May 6 2009, 07:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My wife had a harrowing experience at Medicina which should be a cautionary tale for all. For unclear reasons, they made her go to serveral different medical facilties in Moscow for "further tests"...thus pushing her time table to get to her interview up within bare minutes of postponement. Beside running all over Moscow in a mad dash to get all her tests done...she had to cry and beg a doctor to review her results immediately or she would miss her interview. I don't think my wife will ever get over the trauma and stress and struggle around her medical exam. In the end, the "further tests" seemed unjustified as she was determined to be healthy.

The lesson here is if you think things will go quickly and smoothly around the medical exam...think again. My wife came within minutes of missing her interview which would have caused her to go home and come back yet again to Moscow for a rescheduled interview and second medical. Think of the money and time and energy and heart break that would cause.

The clinics can play games...perhaps because she was a 130 visa, not a K-1, or maybe looking for a bribe or who knows why.."It is Russia."

sorry for bringing up an old post, but are these stories really true, and how can my wife avoid this if it is? this is really sicking to hear sad.gif

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 Question
QUOTE (tngirl21809 @ Apr 13 2009, 12:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi Hopeful_1, well.. we managed to get a hold of USCIS today. First, they told us that they never printed our NOA1 and never sent it due to some system glitch; that they will send us a duplicate copy to us. So... hubby and I discussed it and we decided not to go through with our K3. We're just afraid that they will pair off our Form I-130 and the Form I129F and put us behind the line again. Second, they told us that normally CSC process the I-130 within 2 months. We've already been waiting for a month, if we go ahead and file the K3 and it gets paired off... all this time that we've already spent on waiting will be for nothing. PLUS, I can't go visiting Canada or crossing it with the K3.. I mean without filing more paper works. My hubby's work goes back and forth from Canada to Alaska to everywhere else in the US. I don't want to have to deal with more problems when I do get to the US. So we're just sticking on the CR1 and hopefully... things do get approved more or less in 2 months time. Finally, they told us that our file is still in the mail room and no officer is assigned to it yet. Which gave us a mini depression but we're coping.

Good luck on your papers.

TO everyone else... THANK YOU so much for answering my questions. You've all been a big help.

Hi tngirl, I understand what you mean about pairing the I-129F and the I-130. That's what my wife and i afraid of too. However, we decided to take our chances with the CR1 route. One thing i like about the CR1, (even if it might take a little longer) is not having to worry about AOS and maybe for you since you'll be traveling a lot, this is a plus. I don't know if you saw the LingChe NVC ShortCut for CR1/IR1 , but here's a link http://www.visajourn...he_NVC_ShortCut Btw, sorry to hear about your I-130 taking so long. I know it's hard being patience when you're so far away from your loved one. I hope everything goes well and your CR1 get's approved soon. Take care and good luck smile.gif

@ op, now i am in the same situation as you. i was just about to send in my I-129F and realized i didn't have my letter of intent from my wife. Please let me know what you choose to do. I'm leaning towards the CR1, but may send in my I-129f as well. Good luck in whatever you choose t do smile.gif

QUOTE (tngirl21809 @ Apr 10 2009, 11:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
can go up to alaska and pass through canada with a k3 anytime i want?
i get the whole money issues, thing is we're worried about the money... but we're more worried about waiting for so long a time.

i understand how you feel, but remember everyone's case is unique and time varies from case to case

we're just wondering if the k3 flies through faster and the cr1 lags behind, do we still have to keep doing it?

You can abandoned either one. If the I-130 (CR1) get's approved before the I-129F, then pursue the CR1 vice verse.

also, if we keep doing the cr1 together with the k3, what if i got my k3 visa already and before i leave i get my notice of interview for the cr1... can i still change my visa?

It's hard to say which is faster. It's always better to check up on status to see which one get's approved first, then you can abandon the one that is still in pending status.

anybody who has an experience like this before?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 vs CR-1
I am in the same situation as OP. I just received my I-130 NOA1 this past thursday and was just about to send in my I-129F for K3, then i realized i don't have my letter of intent from my wife, silly me biggrin.gif

Now, i am wondering if i should just stick with the CR1 route instead of sending in the I-129f or have my wife send me a letter of intent and send out the I-129F. From what i understand, sending out both the I-130 and I-129f can be good since if one get's approved before the other than you can pursue with the approved one. While i've heard some say that having both the CR1 and K3 will just making more confusing depending on which route you choose to take.

To me either way is fine, but there seems to be a lot of people who say the CR1 is faster, while others say the K3 is faster. I'm just worried if i send in the K3 and want to pursue the CR1, it might make things more confusing.

Any suggestions?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDifference in I-130 and K3?

blink.gif

Man!!!! I always thought the K3 consisted of filing the I-130 and later filing the I-129F.

I'm really confused now.

K1 begins with filing the I-129F

correct, but that's for people who've met within 2 years and didn't get married

K3 begins with filing the I-130 and later filing the I-129F

yes, assuming you and your spouse are married

What do you mean by "K3/I-129F is faster than I-130"? If you don't file an I-130 doesn't that make it a K1 by default if you only file a I-129F?

If you file both the I-130 and then I-129F, that generally means you want to pursue the K3 route. If you just file the I-130, that is the CR1/IR1 route. Both require for you and your spouse to be already married.

Please help me understand. wacko.gif

Good luck and please visit the guides as they will help you to better understand the process smile.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion on G-325A
QUOTE (mrathell @ May 3 2009, 04:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Does anyone know what to do in the 'File Number' field on the G-325A form?

They highlight the field as though they want us to fill it in but I wouldn't have a file number yet because I haven't filed an I-130 yet.

Thank you in advance.

As a beneficiary, be careful on how you write "None" and N/A (Not Applicable ). Since this is your first time filing an I-130, write "None" in the area of file number. Writing N/A could give you and RFE depending on the agent reviewing your case, since you are stating that this does not apply to you.

As far as "Applicant's last address outside the United States of more than a year" just put the present Month/Year of this year.

Good luck

Hi, and welcome to VJ. Congratulations on your marriage. Here are a few guides that will help you on your journey:

http://www.visajourn...mp;page=compare

http://www.visajourn...page=i130guide1

http://www.visajourn...mp;page=k3guide

Because everyone situation is unique, it's hard to say which is faster, but pursuing the CR1 route versus the K3 will save you close to $700 dollars and not having to worry about Adjustment of Status (AOS). Many here will argue that the CR1 is a better choice and like what blue123 said, the CR1 and K3 are getting approved at the same time.

Good luck star_smile.gif

I'm in the process of getting all the necessary documents ready for the NVC before we get our NOA 2. Since it takes about month to obtain and around a month to ship, i'd like to do this now if possible.

Does anyone know the validity for police record in russia from the date it's issued?

I looked on the reciprocity for russia, but it doesn't state anything http://travel.state....ocity_3656.html

Neither does it mention anything on the american embassy site in moscow http://moscow.usemba...ivisas_doc.html

I did a search and found one old post mentioning from an unreliable source that it's one year. If anyone knows or could confirm this, i'd greatly appreciate it smile.gif

I would call the USCIS and let them know about the mistake, they should be able to tell you on what to do. There's really nothing to worry about, many of us and have made human errors on our forms and it's good thing you noticed it.
