I posted similar question, and all the responses seemed to think having expired green card and letter for Noa1 would be all that is necessary.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 Processing Time in Vermont Center?

I have a question - if we apply 90 days before the expiry of conditional GC, and if the 10 year GC is not received before the conditioanl GC expiration date, can we travel abroad due to an emergency? What we need to do in such a situation?

If you do leave US make sure you take greencard and original extension letter!! Lena was just detained for 30 minutes while they verified information on letter was current!

I have not seen this topic, but it appears my step daughter will be have her 10 year card before Lena, due to IR2 classification? (and current snails pace at VSC) Think that is possible?

I, along with some others have been waiting 10 months for VSC and now I hear with the recent immigration changes for illegals that the service centers will be inundated with an extra load and no extra staff to handle it.

Lena has traveled twice to Ukraine with no problems whatsoever> This time with expired green card she was detained for 30 min or so till they verified extension letter.

Hey guys,

I have a question, for those who already experience traveling to another country using your passport with your MAIDEN name on it since it is still valid.

Did you encounter any problem coming back to the States? Do you just have to bring and show your marriage certificate?

Since your greencard would have your married name not your maiden name anymore.

Thanks for the inputs!

We were excited to get the biometrics letter too! I went to the USCIS site today and see that they are processing May 2011!!! OMG....they are so slow! I hope they pick up the pace. It is so nerve-racking to be waiting around on the government. Glad we don't have to do this for awhile after we get the 10 yr green card!

:wow: at the pace they are going we will have citizenship before permanent green card

Hope so! Around the first week of May would work. Then again, any date is fine as long as I get the appointment, haha :)

Thank you for the suggestion! But from time to time some people get sent back home when trying to do early biometrics, no? I don't know if I want to risk taking a day off work for nothing so I might just wait and hope I get lucky with the appointment :)

WOW never heard that !! Have an example???

Thanks Marina-Del
I got my DL in Texas for 6 years but when I looked at this website
http://www.txdps.sta...StatusChart.pdf
I found out that my DL should expire on the same date than my GC...

So I guess we need to be very careful with this matter!
Thanks again
jo

Good research, looks like we need to have copy of 1 year ext letter with her when she is driving after June.

Slightly :ot: but wanted to vent.
I'm so mad! I went to my bank today to try to see if I could get bank statements printed that would actually show both our names instead of just his.
Not only can they not do it...
When I got back to my car, someone had hit it and did not leave a note :crying: :crying: :crying:
And I just got it back from the shop after someone else hit it a few weeks ago!
AAAAGHHHH!!!!

OK, I'm good now. (NOT!!!) :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

Now I do not feel so alone, My rental car was hit, by hit and run driver while mine" was in shop after being hit by illegal with no insurance". Grrrrrr

Thanks. We need to take it to the DMV cause my hubbies drivers license expires the same day as his greencard and I can totally see them looking at that letter and trying to issue him a new license for 4/2013. I wanted to be sure before I argue with them that they need to issue it until 6/2013!!

Wow is Georgia that picky on drivers license expiration? I thought Texas was bad not letting Lena get license till she possessed green card, but after she got it they gave her regular 6 year license.

I had a home visit during AOS. Just the idea of having had one worried me A LOT so we hired a lawyer afterwards, but turns out we didn't really need to do so because our AOS interview was really easy. Guess the agents who did the home visit saw that everything was in order :)

Just noticed Italy where abouts? I spent 2 1/2 years in Chiogia, Sottomarina area.
