hi :)
We are going to us only for a few days to get married in Las vegas and we won't have time to do any paper work.We have to come back to Germany, because my fiance is in Air Force stationing here.

agnes,

It's not clear from the limited information you provide what visa might be appropriate for you subsequent to your marriage and return to Germany. In any case it will be a new visa.

When you return to Germany, how long to you plan to stay there? And if you didn't plan to stay in the USA after the marriage why did you apply for a K1 visa?

Hi everyone :) does anybody know how I get my K3 visa if K1 was prevously issued ? Me and my fiance are going to marry in US and come back to Germany, where we currently live. Does Ambassy transfer K1 into K3 or we have to start whole the process again? I am going to change my passport also, since I change my surname after getting married -does it affect the case somehow?
I appreciate any help....[/quote]

hi :)
I need a K1 visa to get married in US. I talked to people in the US embassy and they told me that. I am not sure how long we stay here. we may be living in 6 months or 2 years...I don;t know yet...

Another question.. if the USC has residency in Germany, why don't you apply for an Immigrant Visa in Frankfurt by DCF..

I'd like to apply for a green card in Germany, but I am affraid it will take so long, f.e.15 months. We may be living Germany in 6 months(I don't know yet) and I think I should apply for a new visa as soon as I come back from US (on K1 I can enter US only once).

Hi everyone :)
I read A Guide to Naturalization and it gives you addressess of 3 offices, where you can file N-400. It doesn't mention Fairfax Va. I'd like to file overethere, cause they specialize in naturalization under sec 319b (my case). They say also that if you're filing from overseas (I'm filing from overseas), you can use any office. I'm asking, cause I don't want my papers to travel from place to place or get lost...Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance :help:

US Citizenship General DiscussionHelp please!!! Affidavit of employment (319b)
Hi ;)

I'm getting citizenship under 319b-my husband is a contractor overseas. I'm stuck, cause I can't get documentation concerning his employment. All I need is an Affidavit of employment, but he says that his company just started contracting overseas and HR people may take forever to provide me a document like that. If I gave them something ready to sign, that would be much better.

Maybe somebody could type (with blank spaces instead of names) the content of his affidavit.
For any help I'm very grateful.

Hi ;)
my husband is a contractor in Germany (Stuttgart). Currently I'm gathering all necessary documents to apply for citizenship under 319b. It takes a long time, cause I'm having a hard time obtaining the Affidavit of employment.
Can I ask you for a little help? Could you send me or type without some personal info, how your affidavit/letter of employment was composed?

Thanks for any help in advance :star:

I'm applying for citizenship under 319b. I'm going to request an interview at Fairfax, Virginia. How long does it take from sending documents to receiving an interview date?
I also read that you can reschedule or postpone interview date once and they generraly grant your request. Does anyone has any experience?

Thanks!

US Citizenship General Discussionthey drive me crazy!
Hi everyone :help:

here's my story: I filled N-400 under sec 319 b from overseas, Germany ( my husband is a contractor for Us Government).
My application was accepted and I got a notice to my German address. They sent me another notice, but I've never gotten it. I called them yesturday and...that was a nightmare: over one hour on the phone, being transfered and transfered and they hang up a few times. I was repeting and spelling my names, addresses, numbers for a numerous number of times - all for noting.
My question was:how to notify they of my APO address? Should I change my US address, which I have for my green card To APO address? But APO is overseas and I need to have an address in US right? Should I use form AR 11?

If anybody would like to help, I appreciate ;)

Awesome! Your wife's process went really fast!
I'm going to apply for citizenship under the same sec 319 b and my husband works in Germay, too. Currently I'm waiting for the letter from an employer. Obviously, it's so much trouble for them, cause I've been waiting for a while.I can wait a little longer ,cause I'd be ready to fly to the States in a few months. We just came back from California and we're recovering financialy after that awesome vacation ;)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp-address and job change just before interview
Hi everyone,

if somebody knows what to do now and could help, I would greatly appreciate it. I sent an email to Frankfurt embassy, but they didn't answer (it's been 8 days already).
I sent forms from packet 3, when my husband was still in The Air Force, stationed in Germany. Since then he separated. He's got a contracting job on other base in Germany, so we changed address. There are old information on my forms like Ds-230 and I-130. I have a visa interview 15 Oct and I hope everything goes smoothly, because we want to fly for Thanksgiving to the States, wchich means we will be buying tickets soon.

What should I do? Sent those forms again with new information?

Thanks for help

Well, we made it to the appointment, but that thing"what would happen if there was traffic on the way and we wouldn't make it..."(we already bought our plane tickets for 22nd Nov.

I responded after 11 months, because I had a baby in October last year, then my husband got deployed, so when our life came back to normal I continued the visa process. We are staying overseas though. My husband got a contracting job in here. I need a green card for future visits to the USA (which I have to make at every 365 days not to loose my status) and e.g. to take up job on military base.

Good luck for everybody wink.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI'm going nuts!!!Can anyone help me?
The thing is that the passport looks ok, good for another 4 years. Only on the last but one page it says that is valid only for active duty military members and their dependants. The passport no starts with 6, which also indicates the type of passport. I was travelling with her (on that passport) to Poland and nobody noticed. They checked only while boarding. I didn't know also at that time, that it was invalid.
The guy that issued our sofa stamps said it was ok for travelling, but we should turn it back as soon as we come back. Here's the hope....

Does anybody know anything about a case like this...?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIs any military guy or spouse here?
Thank you everyone for help :) I really appreciate

I've just changed the description under my profile to indicate that Germany is only my current location, my citizenship is Polish. I can be hired in Germany for 4 months for jobs like:waitress, bartender, kitchen help etc., so maybe I could be also hired on base as foreign national (local ?).
What I count for though, is employment based on the command sposorship. I am well educated-master's degree in economics, I speak 2 foreign languages-English and German, and I have a lot of experience in jobs like:saleswoman, waitress, bakery assistant, kitchenhelp...even from the US.
On the AAFES website is said:"all the aplicants must have SSN and show eligibility for work in the US". Will I be eligible for work as a command sponsorship dependant, but without a green card and EAD stamp?

It is difficult to get a job on base. I know many military wives US citizens that have been loking for a job and still nothing. But they won't take a job on evenings or weekends, because they want to spend that time with their husbands.
:)

Hi :)

I would really apreciate if anybody helped me with this:

we got married in US a few weeks ago and came back to Germany, because my husband is stationed here (Air Force). I went through K1, so we could get married in Las Vegas. I left US without AP-we didn't have 3 months time for that. Later when we will be going to move US, I will apply for a spouse visa.
The question is: I don't have EAD (only have K1 still valid). I am waiting for my command sponsorship papers. Am I eligible for work on a military base?

Congratulations!! How long did it take you to get an Interviewdate from the time on you sent back the checklist?

(I am waiting...)

way too long...:-( I sent the checklist back 06 April and I had my interview 2 June so almost 2 months. Even though they sheduled my appointment 10 days after completing my case, what is fast. very offen they shedule a month later....Personally I recommend not buying any palne tickets until you have visa in hand and make sure it has no mistakes
but to cheer you up I know that some people had it faster. maybe no previous visas make your case faster-could be....
