PhilippinesFiancee Letter from USEM sent to USC
QUOTE (Michael_and_Julie @ Apr 25 2009, 07:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
As far as i read in the forum, both petitioner and beneficiary get a copy of the embassy letter. Its just sometimes, the USC copy arrives earlier than the beneficiary's copy.....(not so sure about this, my husband and myself haven't received our letters yet....)

Julie star_smile.gif

Hi, me and my fiance both received letter from Embassy, it was just that the letter he received was adressed through my name, lol, i am glad the postman delivered it to him.

unless it has been more that one year from the date of the medical exam and the date you file AOS, then a new exam will be needed

Or if USCIS happens to misplace your medical exam, which happened to my wife.

Those are he shots that I had too. Yes, you need to have boosters to complete your shots when you get here in filling for your AOS. You don't need to redo your medical unless it get expired before you file your AOS.

For AOS you take you medical record to a doctor in USA

And they will fill out form and transcribe what you had done already onto form for AOS.

I think my wife had to get one more shot for AOS.

But they don't do a Medical Interview again in USA.

Hello Guys!

I need help, i will be travelling to Manila for my Visa interview and battling between using TAXI or MRT?

If i use TAXI - how much would it possibly charge me if i am coming from Cubao bus station to Citystate Hotel?
Prepare Php150-200, pero it depends sa taxi na kukunin mo kasi may mga taxi na garapal yung mga driver, yung iba gusto may padagdag pa wacko.gif I suggest to ride EMP or R&E Taxis good.gif

If i use MRT- Which line should i go and ride? the stops?
and from UN Avenue,do i have to get taxi to bring me there to hotel?
If you are in Araneta Cubao, I suggest for you to ride the LRT2. You don't need to ride MRT yun ay kung nasa Araneta Station kana. Check mo din yung magnetic card mo kasi makikita mo dun yung mga stations na dadaanan ng train pra alam mo kung pang ilan station ka bababa.

Click this link for the stations of LRT1 and LRT2

which one is much safer? i will be travelling alone and i am not familiar with Manila things, hehehe whistling.gif
IF you just want to sit and relax, I suggest Taxi. If you want to save then I suggest to ride LRT. But if you will ask on which is much safer, then I can't tell you what as I believe that accidents can happen anywhere and anytime. But if you will ride taxi, again, I suggest R&E and EMP. It is much safer to ride compare to other taxis.

so i am humbly asking for your replies so i have a guide how to get there at the hotel safe and in one piece, hehehe.

NOTE: There are lots of routes that you can take in going to your destination. You can go down to UN Station from Carriedo Station if you want, but I think going to Pedro Gil Station is the shorter way. I put Orange line dun sa map above pra makita mo yung direction from Pedro Gil Station going to the hotel. If you think you are lost or you aren't sure of the route you are taking then don't be scared or shy to ask for directions as asking directions won't hurt you smile.gif Good Luck! star_smile.gif

PhilippinesMy CR1-IR1 Interview Experience
QUOTE (Raeka @ May 17 2009, 07:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This might be so so late but i haven't had the time to post so much after i received my visa. I realized there's so much more to do before the flight.

My interview date was May 7th of this year. I live in Rizal so i had to wake up 4:30AM and prepare myself and left the house at 5:30AM. I arrived at the USEM around 6:45AM and there was a lot of people outside the USEM. Some were standing in line and were assisted by the guards to get in the building those who had 7am schedule. I had an 8:30 schedule so i went to the waiting shed outside. While waiting, there were people selling umbrellas and i had to buy one because it started raining hard. I also heard that the USEM employees had a meeting last May 5 and became more strict that they wont allow people who brought any liquid forms, cellphone, sharp objects to enter the building. Any liquid, that includes WATER! There was this woman who was crying because she brought her celphone with her and when she got it and the USEM scan machine traced her celphone. The guard didnt ask her any questions, they just reschedule her interview date at once and asked her to go home. So guys! DO NOT BRING colognes, cellphones, sharp objects like nipper or nail cutter, and usb drives if you dont want your interview date to be rescheduled. devil.gif

The guard finally called the applicants with 8:00am schedule.. and i asked the guard if I could go since mine was 8:30. Then the guard said 'Ma'am! kanina pa po yung for immigrant applicants! kanina pa dapat kayo pumasok! Yung mga pinapahintay lang po dito ay yung K type visa lang.' Bummer! So i hurriedly went in and found Koltrone in the building. She already got her number while i was just sitting there waiting for my turn to get my number. After i got my number i waited HOURS! before my number flashed on the queing board. I saw Koltrone's number flashed for the pre-screening interview, then for the final interview, but my number wasnt flashed yet.

An hour after Kotrone left, my number finally flashed. The pre-screener was nice. I was just standing there in front of the booth waiting for her to ask me questions. She just looked at me and smiled, then she started writing something, then looked at me again then asked for PICTURES, EMAILS, CARDS, REMITTANCES, MY HUSBAND'S INCOME TAX RETURN FOR 2008, CO-SPONSORS INCOME TAX RETURN. Then she asked me these questions:

- How long have you been married? When?
- Have you been married before you met your husband now?
- How many kids does your husband have?
- What are their names?
- Who is your sponsor?
- How come you dont have the co-sponsor's 2008 income tax return?
(then she saw my daughter's CRBA that my husband sent them)
- "Oh! So your daughter's now a US citizen!... Hmmm.. ok, you're good to go. Goodluck with your final interview"

Then i waited another hour for my number to flash again. Here are the consul's questions:

- Who's your petitioner?
- When's the last time you saw him?
- How did you meet?
- How many times he visited you?
- Does your husband have kids from his previous wife?
- Are you ready to be a stepmom?
( Then silence... she was typing something on the computer )
- Have you been married before? ( i answered 'no')
- (and again with a more threatening tone) Have YOU! been married before? (Answered her with a more confident tone 'NO!')

Then she said, 'Congratulations, your visa is approved'. (She didnt smile or anything when she said that. parang napipilitan lang yung pagkaka approve ko.. hahahahaha!) Then she instructed me to wait at the waiting area and my name will be called again. after like 5 minutes, my name was called to go to window 37. The lady handed me back the documents that the pre-screener took and she asked me to pay the courier then she stapled the small pink paper on the 2nd and 3rd pages of my appointment letter and the lady said i can go home after i paid the courier.

THAT'S IT!
The questions were easy. All you gotta do is answer the questions WITH CONFIDENCE. Smile even though they're not smiling. It's ok to be nervous, im pretty sure that the pre-screener and the consul knows that every person that they're interviewing everyday are nervous. But DONT stammer. Because if you stammer, they'll get suspicious.

GOOD LUCK SA INYONG LAHAT!!!! SANA PASADO LAHAT PARA MASAYA!!

salamat for reminding us not to bring those stuffs, i will sure remember that good.gif
kicking.gif CONGRATULATIONS! kicking.gif

Philippineserror on I-129F:birthdate of beneficiary
Hi guys, i just want to ask if anybody here encountered like this.

(1) I will be having my interview next week, my fiance filled up 02 instead of 12 as date of my birthdate on my I-129f petition form.
I am somehow confident that its gonna be fine, anyway i have all the documents that can prove my correct birthdate
Is this a possibility that can mess up with our visa approval? or a possibility that will put our papers under AR?
I am going to the interview with positive thoughts that we will gonna be approved, i just want to get some tips how should i handle this just in case the consul bring up this issue? or what if he didn't notice shall i bring it up? i thought of doing so, i want to be honest even though its just a minor typographical error(as the way i see it)

(2) is there a safe place near USEM Manila where my companion can hang out while waiting for me having my interview?

I hope all are having a good day!
thank you guys! wink.gif

i have few questions, i hope you can help me guys

1. i had my interview last May 26, got my visa in hand May 29,
im just just curious and wandering why the USEm Manila did not ask for my Cert.of No Marriage(CENOMAR)???
i just hope it wont mess us up upon my port of entry, do you think guys i will be ok?

When I had my interview at the embassy, they did not ask for my CENOMAR and it caused the delay of my VISA delivery. It was almost a month before I received it. The CO told me that he didn't see any problem with our paper but they still need to verify that I was telling the truth that I am single so I know he meant the CENOMAR. Did the CO tell you that you are approve?

2. by the way can you my fiance accompany through the whole process upon my port of entry? like going through customs and immigration?

i hope everybody is having a good day, and if there is a k1 visa applicants here who would like to ask for some informations i can try to help base on my experience going through the same k1 visa type.

I am not sure about this, because I traveled alone, but when I got in the POE, the USC and GC holders went to the other line. I am sure the other VJ members will answer this one.
Ive got approved and got my visa 3 days after the interview, i am only wandering why and if i am gonna be ok.
Thank you for the reply, have a goo day!

Hi, maraming salamat po, i am really curious why, anyways il just bring with me my cenomar just in case they asked for it upon my port of entry. Thank you po uli.

PhilippinesOK a few more Questions about what my Fiance can do....
QUOTE (getosled @ May 31 2009, 03:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ok.. We sent our I-129F Packet in. We are just waiting for NOA2. Then the Embassy letter. What can my fiance do while we are waiting on that? I have helped her fill out the 156, 156k, 157 also the affidavite of support. She just Extended her Passport for a year, and we both have the Original I-129f Packet.

So... someone in a previous post said she can go ahead and do her medical while she waits... good idea or no?
I would suggest that she better wait for the NOA2 Approval notice sent to her, and once you get that approval NOA2,You can now call USEm then they will issue you a case number that starts MNL---------- that number is the one you will need in filling up forms at St.Luke's clinic during medical exam

also. go get the apllication fee paid at Citi or BDO , she has to take what form 156, 156k, or the 157 ?
yes she can bring the DS 157 form, and also BDO can provide one for her to fill up,either way she will be fine.
(one of my ds157 form came from BDO and i filled it up hand written, then i provided another copy that was filled up online, and it went fine) good.gif

for the mean time, she can start preparing and organizing the forms she will be needing such as DS 156, DS 156K and DS 157, proofs of genuine relationship, such as emails, letters, chatlogs, pictures, plane stubs/itineraries, anything that she think will help her prove that your relationship is for real.
Goodluck guys, i know it is kinda confusing and stressful ive been there, chill...you guys will make it!

what we would like to do is have everything done prior to the embassy letter so when we call we can just get the earliest date possible because I may still be in country.

I really wish I had a good reason to send in a letter to try and have them expidite this.

Ill be with her for a few days this month and for a week or so next month so anything I can help her with I will...

Good evening to all of you my dear VJ friends!..... I was writing this I am really in deep pain because of the news I got from my family in the Philippines. We just arrived this afternoon from our vacation in my parents in-law in TN but got this emergency news .

When we arrived I got a message from my sisters and brothers in the Philippines that my mom was in ICU right now. She was riding in the tricycle going home from the market when a jeepney hit the tricycle she was riding. She was rushed to the municipal hospital in our town but her condition was worse and the hospital can`t accomdate that kind of case. So she was rushed to the hospital in the city where have good equipment .My mom`s brain was broken and totally comatose for 3 days now according to my family in the philippines. She need to be operated but we can`t afford the expenses right now even my husband can`t help me raised that amount because it so expensive. Aside from that my sister told me that the Neuro Surgeon from the hospital from Mother Seton Hospital in Naga city(Bicol) , where my mom now. They can`t guarrantee that even my mom undergo operation it was a 50/50 chance she can survived. She is just surviving now for the medicine in the ICU,and for the tube and respirator. That was so expensive everyday we need to have 15k for her medicine. I don`t know what to do right now. I can`t sleep and I am just praying that everything will turn to miracles and my mom can survive. I was so terribly sad and worried about this news.

I am just 4 months here in USA, and I really dont know what to do to help my mom financially. I don`t have job to help my mom survived, and I wish I really can. I am just keeping my faith and trying to be strong here with my husband.

Please I need your prayers for my mom.....! I don`t wanna lose my mom, I can`t accept it! ....I am so sorry! I just can`t help it but to vent and share to relieved my pain right now!

Hoping and praying for the best!

Thank you so much and God bless!

hi there!

am having my medical exam on tues, 26 may. i only learned about it last wed. i was still in singapore when the letter arrived at my bro's. am a bit worried as the last medical check-up i had was in january 09. am always apprehensive about medical exams and i have a history of hyperthyroidism. my last test was in sept 08 and it was within normal range.

can u give me some pointers that i need to do/look out for during the medical exam?

thanks.
eve

Hi eve
just bring the ff:

1. passport
2. payment more or less 10,500php
3. the letter you received from Manila USem.
4. as a back up, bring your NOA1 NOA2 have it photocopied.
5. bring (3) pics 2x2 white background(us passport photo)
6. also bring your vaccination records if you have any and have it photocopied, if i remember it right 2 copies of them.

Remember when was the first day of your last menstruation they always ask for it during the exams.
i also have a history of thyroid problem, they checked it and asked if i had my medications when and how long
i would suggest you go there at noontime after you had your lunch para di na masyadong maraming tao, thats what i did and it worked the process was easy just expect for lots of waiting lol.
Goodluck! you will make it!

thanks a lot for replying. the letter from the embassy said my sked is at 7am. i don't have to be at the appointed time then? btw, i haven't had any vaccines. hehe.

Thank you for posting this question, and good luck. I think many of us wonder about the exam. I don't mean to hijack your thread, but may I ask? Is a copy of the email from US Embassy in Manila stating "you can schedule an appointment for your interview" sufficent, cause this is what we received, as we have not set an appointment date as of yet. I heard your also suppose to bring a black ball point pen with you. If you have had no immunizations in the past or long ago, do they charge extra for the needed immunizations you would get there, or are they included in the $213.35?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, IF you did not receive any letter from USEm Manila, i believe that a printed copy of that email you received will suffice, just bring noa1 and noa2 as back up. if the SLEC tell you that they will gonna give you shots of vaccines, that's fine kasama yan sa binayaran natin. At gamitin mo lang yong regular black pen ok na yon NO need for 0.5 or 1.0 sign pen hehehe...

Just a few reminders on your interview:

1. make sure that you pay your visa application fee at designated bank.
Bring the receipt and they will issue you a blank ds 157.
(i did mine at BDO) this is to avoid delay during the day of your interview.
2. do not forget your APPOINTMENT LETTER that you received from USEm Manila.
the guards at USEm will check that before they let you get inside.
OR the confirmation email that you received about your appointment interview date, have it PRINTED.
3. Be confident, pray and trust that everything will be alright. Don't forget to smile at the consul. good.gif

Guam was my POE and it was so easy.I was travelling with my daughter and our stop-over there was 60mins only.Don't worry..staffs there are nice and Guam is a small airport only so you'll be fine.During my POE there..one of the staff there let me fell inline to USC..he said my daughter is USC so he let me fell inline there and it was my turned right away.

We flew via Continental Airlines.Didnt have problem about our baggages too bcoz it goes all the way to our final destination..Our itinerary was: Manila to Guam,Guam to Honolulu,Honolulu to Houston,Houston to Tampa then Tampa to Tallahassee.
Honolulu was my CBP.Thats the only stop-over where I had to get our baggages with the help of the staff there for my CBP checking, they just asked me what's was on my baggages and that's it.Told me to go to our next connecting flight and they took my baggages and they said I will get it on my final destination.

Are you flying via Continental Airlines?

yes maam via Continental Airlines.
Truly i felt so relief knowing that 90 would be enough good.gif
i so am thankful that i found this group.
Thank you Guys!

Hi There! Guam is my POE too..and as for my experience, it was just so easy going around. Their airport is small so i just followed all the people getting out. Then I formed in line at the customs and border (there were not too many people on the plane or even on the airport since we arrived at 4 in the morning). The border guy just asked me a few questions while checking my brown envelope and he had my finger print scanned and had me look at a camera. Then they let me enter a small room where they put all the immigrants entering US..there were a lot of immigrants and K1 or K3 visas that day (maybe around 15 that time). I waited for my name to be called and then they just told me that I have to get married by August...That's it. The people there are very friendly..u wont get lost just ask around..Have a safe trip!:)

~~They give out I-94 on the plane so make sure to fill it out~~ ok i will sure do remember, thanks! thank you for the reply.

Agreed.

If it was me I wouldn't care, Since you and your fiance will be together. If you have to spend a day or two in Guam is it all that bad.

It seems like a great place to visit and explore...........

QUOTE (TripleG @ May 31 2009, 10:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't have an answer to your question, but tend to agree with the other responder. Guam's airport is pretty small, so you should be okay. Out of all the airports I have cleared customs, Guam would be my number one pick. I would rank airports I have returned through like this from best to worst: Guam, Seattle, Houston, LAX... This is based soley on personal experience and personal preferance. I usually don't buy my ticket based on where I will clear customs, but would definately pick Guam as a POE for my fiance if the airfair was reasonable. I never even thought Guam was an option for POE for my fiance, but you got me thinking about it now. I haven't cleared customs in Guam in about 2 years, but it was fast the times I did. I arrived at night and the only line was from the people on the same plane I was on. Maybe I was just lucky in this, so don't count on that. I used to take the Continental flight that goes Manila, Guam, Hawaii, Houston before it got too expensive. Hopefully others will respond that have had there POE in Guam because its a good question.

LAX is the worst in my opinion because they schedule so many flights to arrive at the same time and they are unorganized. Houston isn't much better IMO on number of flights arriving, but is more organized. Seattle I heard is where customs agents are trained? I don't know if this is true, but it always seems to go quicker there. Good luck and be sure to post up on her POE experience after its over.

I am so thankful for each replies, this will help me a lot to be prepared enough on what may happen and things to be done upon POE, thank you so much.

Hi guys, need your help, i want to gather some information about Guam POE?
My fiance and i got confused of my POE, we thought of using Houston but looking at our itinerary seems like Guam should be my POE, how long does it take for them to process my papers upon entry?
we only have 90 minutes to spare at Guam before our next flight, i am worried that this time wont be enough for them to process everything. sad.gif

anyways, here is our itinerary, can you guys tell if we can just use HOUSTON as my POE?

MANILA PHILIPPINE

(MNL) 10:55PM GUAM IS SW PAC
(GUM) 4:30AM 737-800 Snack

GUAM IS SW PAC
(GUM) 6:00AM HOUSTON BUSH INTL
(IAH) 7:35AM 767-400 Breakfast

HOUSTON BUSH INTL
(IAH) 2:15PM ASHEVILLE NC

hello... Just pray na things will be ok by the time na magpapamedical ka na. You can bring your xray result from a different doctor, syempre dapat yung ok. They would ask you questions like, have you ever had a TB or do you live with anyone with TB? Then, if you don't say, No, honestly. Drink milk before you have your exam as well, who knows it might help. Good luck.

hi pinayamerican, thanks...i'll going to have a new x-ray either today or tomorrow and see kung merong pagbabago sa result since i took meds ng isang linggo...doctor prescribed me 4 different kinds of antibiotic and really hope na maging ok result ko next time...I had medical exam multiple times b4 when I was still employed and I never I had any problem with it....never had TB nor a spot...anyway, Im just curious, effective ba talaga ang pag-inom ng milk before x-ray?

....sabi nila effective daw, ako kasi i was exposed sa mga tao with TB so i got worried that it might mess up with my med exam, so what i did is kahit hindi talaga ako maki-gatas hahaha, kelangan eh so i drunk milk 2 weeks before my med exam and drunk 2 cans of milk that morning before i went to st.lukes, everything went well, but you can try, malay mo...
Try mo lang sis wala naman masama di ba?
goodluck! wink.gif

PhilippinesWill My Fiance get the Results for Her Medical Exam???
QUOTE (JANETandLYLE @ Jun 11 2009, 09:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I was just curious if my Fiance will know the results for her medical exam after she completes it, or is it just sent to the Embassy? She wanted to wait to schedule the Interview until after the exam because she wanted to make sure we had no issues with the exam. She was only concerned, because she has never had a medical exam before. I tried to persuade her to just schedule the interview and we could cancel or postpone it if issues arised, but she did not want to do this. Will they tell her the results? Thanks

Hi!

First thing to be done is to set an appointment date of her Visa Interview, once you get that date then she is ready to go for her medical exam, she can go there early like a month before her interview and or at least a week before interview. But since she is kinda worried of the result, she can go have her medical exam a month before her interview (just like what i did which went perfectly just fine)
Tell her to just chill and relax and take extra care of herself as preparation for the medical and interview.
(i understand, i've been there eventhough i know i am ok but still i was freaking out like hell whistling.gif lol)

IF everything went good with the result, St.Luke's will administer her some vaccines, if there is still need to have.
Then they will hand her cd-rom of her xray and a copy of the vaccines she completed and will need to complete when she get there in the US.
IF the result is she need to clear up something with her health, they will let her know and will ask her to undergo such medication for whatever is that needing for treatment.

She will be ok good.gif

1.my mama will make the wedding dress for me (floor length,semi-serpentina, full beaded bodice)
since it wont be that engrande type of dress, my first thought is just put it inside of my checked luggage, is it wise/safe to do it that way?
2.i want to wear veil, just a simple one (yong sa likod lang di naman takip yong mukha)

3.i also think of bringing with me a year supply of contraceptive pills- ok lang ba yon? di naman kaya maka aberya ako sa custom/immigration? or shall i require a letter from my ob who will prescribe me of these?
