Hey guys. We at last got your interview (Feb 8), but now we are wondering what about when they deliver the Visa??

Our issue....I'm flying out there Feb 10 and we are planning to be in London (or maybe somewhere else) for at least a week after I arrive (until Sat the 17th about). Is there any way to schedule when the Visa delivery is (as I know it takes about a week)? Or can we pick it up in London when it's ready?
(Also, on Sat the 24th or maybe Friday 23rd) we will be back in London to take me to the airport)

So is there a way to schedule the delivery of the Visaed Passport? Also what happens if it doesn't come until after I leave and Pjc is at work?? Do they get both addresses and try delivering to both? (of course I find something else to worry about now! lol)

Been waiting since Dec 4. I guess we got our packet into the system on Dec. 18. Don't worry..I would say you have about a month to wait (if they decide to be efficient). Don't stress, as it really takes a toll on ya. lol If it comes to a point when it's 6 weeks and nothing, call the embassy and tell them that because they actually ask you on packet 3 to call them at the 6 week mark..

I know I have seen the answer to this before somewhere but of course when I need it I can never find it again...

1. N400 Part 9 about Children. I am the USC (wife) and I had a daughter (previous relationship). My husband (her stepdad) has no legal rights, does he still need to state her on the Children list as I noticed on the N400 Info sheet they use stepdaughter (9.A.6 Stepsons or Stepdaughters or legally adopted)?

2. N400 Part 10D Good Moral Character
Do speeding tickets count? My husband has had two since we've been here. 2007 & 2008 I believe. Both under $400 I believe...

Also, I am assuming in Part 8 G for asking how many times has current USC been married I count 1 for my PR husband whom I am filing paperwork for? err..I mean he is filing it for himself.. ;) I like filling out forms... :blink:

I never thought of having the Passport card for that reason. That's a great idea for backup. We just got back my husband's British passport renewal (which we lost the original then found it the same day as his Oath Ceremony! lol) and have immediately put it in our safe. We are planning on making a good color copy to frame or keep in our home safe and then putting the original in our safety deposit box.

My husband is applying for his US passport and we want to know if we have to send the original naturalization certificate OR can we send a copy? He could bring the original to the passport office so they can see it but I forget what the oath ceremony said about the certificate and getting a passport....

Another citizen in our midst! Pete, my husband, had his interview and test today and was approved. Seattle seems to be on a roll as we not only did he receive his interview in about 3 months but also had his Oath Ceremony today as well! (Notice, JJ had theirs yesterday too)

My husband has his interview tomorrow at 8:10am in Seattle. Hopefully we will get there on time and have everything we need. I hope they don't have issues with him not having his British Passport. It is still out for renewal. We didn't think that he would get his interview until October and we were planning on travelling to Canada in August (can't now as he has to work and his passport has not been returned to us yet).
I know Jimmy & Judy are going to be there today so if you guys come on here let us know what how it went today! :)
Lots of people that I have talked to who did their citizenship interview in Seattle had the oath ceremony the same day. If they do that, hopefully we have everything we need and everything goes to plan. My inlaws arriving tomorrow night to visit from England & Wales. I think I am even more nervous than my husband!

btw what should we bring again??

One more thing, what do they do with the old (his case UK) passports? Are they just using them to check or are they going to mark them? UK and US are able to do dual and I have heard of people using both (enter UK, use uk, enter US, use US)... He is currently renewing his old (and lost!) passport and hopefully will get it just before his interview.

so, my husband got his interview appt letter with a huge list of things to bring, most are things that he already filed. Does he Really need to bring everything? Most of the originals were sent with the packets probably in duplicate. I do have all the packet copies (ummm some I may have to dig for). Do you think just bringing those would work? Along with Birth Certificate originals of course. Also, my husband lost his old passport so he has no record of proof that he never left the country except for our word. Will it help if he brings my old passports?

Okay it's only telling us we are receiving the letter for Biometrics soon. We were late April filers. Awesome everyone is getting their Interview appts! Congrats! Looks like everything is going pretty fast. Hopefully there are no hold ups with us. I am hoping I put in everything we needed in the packet. I only put current items in (besides tax returns which I made sure I sent Everything, even though they probably have tons of copies already)as at the last interview they had a big green two hole punch folder with practically everything we have sent them in it. (hence why they love it when people send two hole punched forms & backup!)
Anyone have their interview yet? Does only the PR go in to the interview this time?
BTW the USCIS website has some pretty cool flash cards! I printed them out & two hole punched them & bracketed them (yeah I work in accounting so I have lots of this stuff!) and then made sure I had all the local answers for my hubby! Very Nifty! My husband can now bring along the booklet & even study it in the waiting room. I better start quizzing him!

Anyone else get redirected from another lockbox? Our NOA starts with NBC which is Nebraska although we sent it to Phoenix. Everything seems to go through Nebraska for west coast so it doesn't surprise me, but I thought i would check with everyone else (especially those further along).

Ok finally getting everything together to send tomorrow to Phoenix!
Tonight we are making copies of PR Card, Marriage Cert, my birth cert & getting photos.
I have last 4 year of tax returns filed jointly (is there anything else I should add?, we don't have a mortgage together as my parents technically own my house, but we have a joint account, also have joint car insurance on his car, any suggestions?). Oh and full copy of entire packet!!
Tomorrow I will get the Money Order & mail packet! Yay! Only taken me since last summer...
Including speeding report printed off of WA DOL which I noticed only had one ticket out of two. I only included that as the other is not on the record. Bad on me but we cannot for the life of us remember any details of it (I am a horrible record keeper). I just know it was under 400. and it may have just been speeding or it was running a red light. one or the other was not cited but I can't remember which. I may just write it in ink as speeding & just write that we can't remember the date of it to at least be truthful. I know sometimes the records are weird but it was a few years ago so I would assume they had posted it...

In May 2010 I moved the test from its old location (that site is now locked as you noticed) to this new location. On form I-751, Part 5 it asks for Children. Does my husband (PR) need to fill in my daughter (US Citizen) even though he is not her biological dad and he has not adopted her. I would guess by reading it we would leave it blank because of that, but I just wanted to make sure.

For some reason I had it stuck in my head that he needed one as every other form in the past has requested them.

For once and for all does the Green Card Holder need to submit a passport style photo with the I-751??

Cool! Thanks! Everything was such a stress last time waiting for things to come through so that my hubby could work that this time it's a relief that he doesn't have to stop working. Right now he is out of a job as is and is hoping to get a new job soon and it's been really tough on one salary so I didn't want him to lose a job again when he gets one. What a relief! smile.gif

Hi BlueRain! As I understand it, the notice you get that your I-751 has been accepted includes language extending the Conditional Green Card for 1 year from either that notice date or the date on the green card. Haven't seen one yet since still waiting for the final piece of our puzzle to send off our package, but you keep the notice with the green card at all times until approval and the 10 year card is received. If processing the I-751 takes longer than a year, you do an InfoPass at your local USCIS office request that your passport get stamped with the I-551. The PR does not need to stop working.

It does say all children on the form. I would put any children born from both of you together but not the children from the previous marriage. obviously they wouldn't have an A# as they are a US Citizen which you can put under the address/immigration status. If you take it from the fact that the Non USC/PR is filling out the form they are asking for their children. If they have no bio/adopted kids than they put None, if they had a child with the USC they enter that in. If they had a child previous to the USC marriage and they immigrated too, they include that one.

Part 5 is for any children born from the PR and USC together as well as any children that were immigrating (or immigrated after) with their Non USC parent is my interpretation. Any children of the USC that have no legal tie to the PR you do not put (mark NONE).

Hello again! We're back! Getting my forms together as well! I am quite relieved that this process seems to be a lot easier than the rest since they have most of the info from the K1 and AOS. We need to send our forms about May 23 (Aug 23 expiration). We received a reminder letter in the mail. It got us all excited that we won't have to really worry about anything for the next 10 years after filing for Removal of Conditions (although my husband is planning to file for citizenship in the next few years well before the 10 yr expiration).

Wondering if joint accounts/loans/vacation info/bills/taxes will suffice as we don't have a joint mortgage or lease as my parents own the house we are living in and they are on the mortgage...

Anyone else wanna say a thank God they are not asking for financial forms this time!

Bump!

Very cool! When we went to Seattle to get my hubby's Biometrics there was this HUGE line outside. We were kinda worried as we were already running late. Come to find out that the line is the "Viewing line"- there was a Naturalization Ceremony going on! Way cool. We were scooted past them and went to Line 2. It was kinda fun watching the line 4 people go up and get there booklet and an american flag and a congratulations! good.gif In the end there were about 4 other people waiting for Window 11 (Bio) and we were already sorta late so within 5 min my hubby was called. My daughter and I went to check out the vending machines and by the time my daughter selected her shortbread cookies he was out and ready to go. Took a quick peek into the conference room and there were a bunch of military guys in tan camo along the back wall. blink.gif kinda scary, luckily no large weapons....lol star_smile.gif
Oh and of course got "Touched" the day after. Just says they got our packet and we are at CSC per usual. The wait time says 6 months.
