IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	G-325A city and country of birth error	Uufff... yeah white out sounds scary to do on a document! I crossed it out and neatly wrote in the proper city. I'm too afraid to initial it for her, though. I think I'm going to send it in as is now and hope I don't get it returned. If it goes through just fine, fantastic, I saved myself a week or two and $80+! If not, then at least I tried and I'll get a corrected G325A from my wife later. Thanks for the input! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	G-325A city and country of birth error	Hi everyone, I'm new here and have found this place to be a stress reliever haha, lots of information and it seems that you are all friendly and good people. I'm trying to use the search feature but haven't found anything thus far. I'm a little bit in a panic and want this answered asap (I'm a huge worry wart) My wife sent me some documents with my cousin from Nicaragua so we can assemble and send out the I-130 packet. I helped her fill out the G325A form and we put her place of birth as Jinotepe, Nicaragua because... well that's what her birth certificate says.... but when I opened the envelope she sent me, I noticed that it says Managua, Nicaragua! I thought I was horrible husband for a second by thinking she was born somewhere else, but her birth certificate really does say Jinotepe. Now I don't know what to do. Can I cross it out and write Jinotepe? Or do I just send it in as is and hope I don't get it sent back? I don't know why she changed it to Managua, the 325a copy that I have on my computer says the correct birth place. Also, since I'm asking questions, my wife's birth certificate and our marriage certificate is in spanish, how exactly should this be typed out and translated into english? And should I go to a notary public to notarize it and also make certified copies of both certificates? I'll forum search the translation one, so I'll edit this later if I find anything, but I'd totally appreciate the help on the G325! Even though it's supposed to be 5 months, I think 6 months would be a reasonable amount of time to wait before panicking. Perhaps they are just a bit behind. Have the pictures prepared and pick ones where it's a different setting each time. Your timeline says you already received NOA1, so... just sit back and wait patiently. However... Ollie was told the paper work takes 5-7 days to process and he won't receive it till next wednesday????!!! I thought it was a 24 hour thing!! I don't want to wait another 2 weeks for them to mail another packet 3... we returned packet 3 a month ago, this delay is such a disapointment. if anyone has a blank IV-15 form they could scan/email, I would really appreciate it. even a filled out one - I can doctor it in photoshop. They said the standard visa processing time was 5-7 days and they may not send the visa till the 21st, and this is standard?? I thought the visa was usually delivered within 1-2 days from the London embassy. Based on that assumption, i booked his return flight for the 18th. made the reservation a month ago. It's going to be expensive to change. So... did he just get the standard party line here, or do they really now take a week to get visas out?? Someone with multiple sponsors but still receiving SSI was denied. I was a little worried. You use the word 'obviously' way too much, and what you seem to think is obvious is not likely to be so obvious to a 3rd party whose job requires them to be skeptical. I can only speak from my own perspective - to me, this is all rather obvious, of course I can support myself when I'm out of school. I've read in past posts that receiveing SSI or similar aide has led people to be denied as sponsors, despite also having a cosponsor. I graduate from university in March. My income has been minimal - my parents paid my way thru school. I recieved SSI (suplemental security income) for about a year and a half because I am disabled (cerebral palsy) and could not work+go to school concurrently AND the allowance my parents provided left me under the poverty line. I took 6 months off school recently and within weeks drummed up web design/programming contracts for $2000+ (not even remotely related to my major, ironically). so my ability to support myself is not at issue. My financial history is. I've canceled my SSI, and have a letter stating such, as of December 20th. I have copies of invoices totalling about $3000 for various small contracts in November/December. I have an order for another $2000 job comming in in late march, once I graduate. Beyond that, I have earned virtually nothing. My parents will co-sponser Ollie, and they earn ~$125k with no dependents. They own their home and some investment property. Does this sound reasonable? Will the INS look at my case and be reasonable, see that obviously while in school w/a physical disability, I could not earn money, but the invoices obviously demonstrate ability to earn a living wage? Plus the cosponsor insurance factor... or is the disability going to act against me? will they ignore my potential as a university graduate with a BS and focus only on my past need for SSI?	latitudes	Not Telling	United Kingdom	2006-02-06 00:49:00

We're in the heart of silicon valley here and Ollie will be wanting to work as a tech somewhere - the Temp. work permit will give him credibility as he starts working his contacts and writing interest letters. They may or may not hire him straight off w/the temp. permit - but at least they will have some assurance that he's in the system and the perm. work permit will (most likely) come thru. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	temp work permit w/k-1	I've read that it is possible to get a temporary work permit w/the K-1 visa - is it worth it? Has anyone tried? I also read that the immigration officers at JFK may grant incomming Fiance(e)'s a temp work permit upon request at the time that they come into the country. Has anyone tried this? does it work? is it worth trying to get Ollie routed to fly into JFK? One more question... Ollie returns to the UK on March 22 (or there-abouts). Our K-1 was filed dec. 9th at the CA processing center. Are we fairly safe in scheduling his return on June 22? that would be 6+ months from filing to interview in UK. thanks! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	4 Months Left	Does anyone else have a significant other like this? Craig isn't the go-getter type in the first place, but he's never been this bad. Kassie - Ollie isn't much help in these matters either. He filled out the biographical info for the i-129k (the G-125 or something) WRONG. like, middle name misspelled. He put Warwick as his place of birth instead of leamington! Its in big letters on his passport! But I knew this already. His grandfather was the type to walk away from the bulldoser w/the ignition on and in gear (picture several old brit guys chassing the runaway bobcat down the lane after it destroys Gran's greenhouse - which still has yet to be rebuilt). I guess I don't have much in words of advise, other than that things probably won't change. If things need to get done, I do them. I filled the i-129f, I've got all the paperwork done (drafted) for packet 3, and I'm working on gathering for the AOS. I know things will always be like this, and that's okay. Ollie is kind and emotionally brilliant, sweet, thoughtful, and he always makes me smile. That's all I want from him. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	CSC sorry have to vent	The reason they cannot send to Nebraska is that Nebraska cases are getting sent to CSC also. I live in Ohio. Eastern time zone like Vermont, but my service center is Nebraska. Imagine my surprise when I see that my I-130 was sent to California. Wonderful. Sorry to hear that.
